Some of the best fast casual BBQ I've ever had! Beats every BBQ specific full service restaurants in the area too. They deliver a fantastic customer experience everytime I stop by, and as a customer, it really feels like each and every one of the employees truly cares about the product they are selling and about every customer that walks in. First time trying them out after waiting for them to open. Nice clean place with ample seating. Friendly staff and a wonderful wood fired grill smell. All in all very inviting. I order the 18-hour beef brisket combo. It comes with a drink and side for about $17. I went with the Mac and cheese, which was just all right. The sauce was a bit runny for my preference but the flavor was good. The brisket sandwich however was really good. The meat was tender and delicious, piled high upon the bun. From the second we walked in everyone was so welcoming, Edmond walked us through the menu, James then took our order... was very patient as there were so many good things to choose from and ultimately Patrick made me some delicious tacos 🌮 and made Dave pulled chicken and such tender juicy brisket! Dave's favorite. 😊 so good we decided to get the pulled nachos for later! Well worth the drive of an hour that took us to get it! Thanks City BBQ for making us lunch and dinner!

I had guests at my home for a lunch celebration and I wanted things to be nice. City Barbeque was my first choice for lunch because the food is delicious and they feature a large variety of options. I was in a bit of a panic because I learned one of my guests was arriving early and when I came into the store I was greeted by Josh and he did everything he could to help me sort out my order quickly (there are SO many great options!) and he made sure I had the right amount of food for everyone. He made the ordering process easy and got everything quickly for me. He made my day. I made it back home before my guests arrived, I put all the food in my serving dishes and when they arrived it looked like I worked for several hours on the lunch. We had three different meats and three different sides with cornbread. Their turkey and mac and cheese are my favorites. My guests loved all the food. They particularly loved the cornbread, so I'm going to make sure I get a lot more of that the next time I host a party.

Shoutout to carmen on boards this place is so good I love the brisket everyone saying it's dry is a liar because it's good I could be locked in a cage starving and on the brink of death and all I would want is the bread the bread is so good and I am so sorry to all the orphan children who can't experience this bbq. Nashville and cowbell are the best sandwiches everyone and their mom should eat here thank me later.

I’ve been hearing about City Barbeque in Troy for years and finally got to try it it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, Tracy greeted us with a smile and took the time to explain everything on the menu, which made ordering so easy. The food was absolutely delicious — tender, flavorful, and fresh. Top-notch barbecue all the way! We will definitely be coming back.

I tried the 2 meat, 2 side combo. Next visit I'll splurge on the $3 upgrade and get ribs and brisket. We also ordered the Competion Cobb Salad, you could swap out the protein, without an Upcharge. Salad was generous and loaded. Service and staff was super. Place is super clean. Bonus nice selection of BBQ sauces. The drive-thru window is really a wonderful convenience for busy moms and Families

Review #505 Monday, 12/30/2024 My review is based on a Box Lunch Sandwich with 2 sides that I enjoyed eating at home from a Christmas work luncheon catered on Monday 12/16/2024 from City Barbeque. The Management company ordered many flavors of City's famous tender meats such as pulled pork, brisket, chicken and black bean burger, along with 2 sides to complete the combo lunch boxes. My sandwich was 1/4# pulled pork that was in a foam cup plain so I added City Barbeque famous sauce to mix together. A large soft roll and container of pickles topped off my half of a sandwich. (Ate other half for dinner) My two sides was a cup of creamy Mac and Cheese and a cornbread loaf with honey package. The lunch sandwich was delicious with tender pork meat too. The sauce was tasty and satisfying with 3 crunchy Pickles. I added honey to the Cornbread which was fantastic! Oh My Deeeelicious on their creamy Mac and Cheese Cup. Photos all are attached. I hadn't been to City Barbecue in quite a long time - since before they moved to this location, when they used to be in a plaza on Big Beaver. I'm still in their e-club though, And recently they've been sending me a lot of deals, including this week, when they sent me a free two meat, two side plate, which was too much to resist, so I stopped by for lunch today. They have curbside which was excellent. When I pulled up, I clicked a button on my phone, on their website, and my food came out very quickly. I believe they also offer this on their app. I ordered brisket, which normally is a $3 upcharge; pulled pork; hush puppies; and corn pudding. It also comes with Texas toast. The brisket was really, really good and a lot better than I had remembered. The pulled pork was decent but did have a lot of fatty pieces, which is not my preference. The hush puppies were also very good, which I remembered from the last time I did take out, but the corn pudding was a little more mushy than I would like. Overall they've made me a new fan and I will stop by this location again when I'm in the area. They also have a drive-thru, which is super convenient. I don't remember what was there before but my guess is it was a fast food place.

I'd like to this place had a drive-through, but I really didn't have time to really really look at the menu. So I ordered a one meat special, which consists of one meat and a side and a drink. I got a pork sausage, potato salad, and sweet tea. It was all pretty good, especially the potato salad and a sweet tea. The sausage dipped in their barbecue sauce was also OK. Would I return?? I would return.

First time visiting this establishment. Everything we ordered was great, and we ordered a bunch. We'll be back!

I decided to stop in for the first time today as I was super hungry and completely opposed to patronizing the usual suspects (Panera, BK, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Jimmy John's, etc.). I'm so glad I did! The food was pretty good and the quick, yet attentive service was even better! By the way -- shout out to that amazing person holding down the drive-thru; you made my day! I got the half bird combo with corn pudding, baked beans w/ brisket, and paid for an additional side of creamy coleslaw. The chicken was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The corn pudding was good enough to make me come back a few times a week. The beans were pretty damn decent (I prefer a sweeter baked bean; these were bbq sauce-based and smoky...and yes I ate them all). I did not care for the coleslaw, but it wasn't bad either; it was just missing a hint of sweetness. I did not eat it all. I also had the banana pudding. *insert drool here* Don't even question it; JUST GET IT!!!!! Overall, it was a great meal. To me, the portions were substantial as I had enough to eat lunch and dinner, and the prices were what you should expect them to be in this inflated post-pandemic world. I am definitely going back and trying a few other things, while keeping some of the same picks in tow. Oh yeah, and the sweet tea was definitely sweet tea-ing! *slurp* Good job City BBQ!

Place is nice inside and out, sauces all tasted good service was good and the dining room was clean. As for the food it's a no for me. The pulled pork was a no, the brisket was decent, Texas sausage tasted like Italian sausage (you could taste the fennel in it) the only way I could eat it was drenched in sauce, Mac n Cheese nope, baked beans was a yes, coleslaw no thank you. Too expensive for what you get, chocolate cake looked really good but I didn't get it.

This location in Troy MI recently opened. They were out of several dishes which is common with good BBQ Restaurants. I had the brisket and pulled pork. It was delicious.

The food is very good and I would have rated things a 5, but I found the online ordering interface to be very unreliable.

Excellent BBQ, not dry like so many are. The chocolate cake is to die for. Join their rewards and get free stuff. We come here often.

We couldn't wait for this new location to open... we've always loved city Barbeque over any other , including Slows Detroit. The minute we get out of our car, the smell of smoke instantly makes me hungry. Good smoked meats and delicious sides like potato salad, and southern green beans.. and the peach cobbler is to die for.wonderful wait staff.. great prices. It's comfort food for sure

I placed an online order @ 6:15 last night & when I arrived to pick up my order they informed me they were out of ribs. Why would a barbecue place not have ribs at 6:25 on a Saturday night?! Unacceptable.

I love going on Rib Tuesday, 12 ribs , save about 10.00 dollars . Banana bread pudding , our favorite dessert. Our sides are Cole slaw and beans with brisket.

My mom and I stopped in to try the BBQ. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The pulled pork and baked beans were outstanding! Traci was friendly and helpful! Overall a great experience! We will be back!

Every time I come on the staff is super friendly the place is clean and the brisket is fantastic. A gem for this area.

The restaurant atmosphere was nice, clean and warm. The food was a mixed review. The brisket was good. Chicken tenders were awesome. The sausage was okay. The Mac & cheese was horrible. It was dry and lacked flavor. The pulled chicken looked like vomit. It was mixed with mayo & horseradish. I would rather go to Mission BBQ over City BBQ any day of the week.
