City Bear Cafe Breakfast & Lunch.

I absolutely love this place. I first discovered it through Uber Eats, and I ordered their Florentine Benedict and my oh my, I’ve never had such a perfect to-go order of a Benny before. I was so impressed that I brought my family here today to see if they taste as good as the takeout. The atmosphere is really cozy; even though they’re a small spot, it feels very homey. The staff were incredibly kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the Florentine Benny, Chilaquiles Rojos (spicy and mouthwatering), Santa Fe Skillet, and a veggie omelet. The caramel macchiato wasn’t to my expectations, it was very milky and didn’t taste the espresso but everything else was amazing. Our server, Brandy, was very friendly, when one of my sisters asked for sunny side up, but meant over medium, Brandy kindly brought her another egg. I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back with my family and will keep ordering takeout. All five stars are well deserved, I honestly don’t understand why others haven’t had such a great experience.

Chef Omar and the staff at the bear, are the best. They make you fell welcome and appreciated when ya walk in the door. The food is outstanding, all of it. From the eggs Benedict to the hangover burger its top notch. They are quickly becoming the neighborhood go to spot and they have been mine since day 1! Stop in, you wont be disappointed!

Fantastic food!! Had the Benedict trio and the shrimp and grits. 10/10 would recommend! Our server Brandy was great. Definitely a place to try!

We go here for breakfast or lunch at least once a week. The food is always extremely fresh and great tasting. Staff is super friendly and the space is cozy and welcoming. Don't sleep on the monthly specials either, some of my favorite meals (shrimp n grits) are from that little menu!

We had breakfast for the first time at this family-owned diner, and it was nothing short of amazing. We ordered chilaquiles which were delicious—topped with just the right amount of cheese, crema, and scrambled eggs. The omelette was fluffy, well-seasoned, and stuffed with fresh ingredients. I got a side of bacon which was perfectly crisped. The prices are fair with very generous portions. Beyond the food, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. If you’re looking for a spot that serves up comfort and authenticity, this diner is a must-visit neighborhood gem.

Everything was great! I ordered the Big Men that comes with sausage & bacon, choice of potatoes or fruit, & choice of pancakes or toast! The service was friendly, and i love the atmosphere and organization! Th sausage and bacon were really good, especially the bacon. It was not too hard, big, and crispy, which i love! The pancakes were soft and had a buttermilk flavor that made it so much better! They also have daily specials regarding breakfast & lunch specials if you want to plan your visit here! It wasn't busy at that time, so everything was efficient, and hopefully, this place gets recognition for their hard work!

We really enjoyed the food. It took a little longer to come out, but everything was clearly prepared with care and tasted delicious. The service was attentive, and we’ll definitely be back.

love this place! kid friendly, attentive staff, and amazing food with huge portions! their pancakes are so light and fluffy, their fruit is super fresh, and the bacon is perfectly crip. We ordered a variety of food and we were all pleased with every single meal and side.

Epitome of Chicago local Diner. Easy seating, great service and amazing food. The French toast was loaded with fresh fruit sweet but not too sugary. Eggs and sausage were perfect. Daughter order a Mexican Breakfast. Very tasty huge portions.

The food, service and portion sizes are excellent here. The menu runs the gambit of American staples of biscuits and gravy to eggs Benedict to Mexican favorites like chilaquiles. So far, I haven't experienced a misstep. The ambiance is simple and the space is small, but the turnaround is fast, so there's generally not a long wait time for a table.

Very good food, good environment, and friendly staff. Great place in the neighborhood. New name is City Bear Cafe. This will be a regular place in my rotation for breakfast.

Absolutely delicious! I got the ham and eggs and it was the best ham I've had in so long. The side of potatoes were perfectly seasoned and delicious. My dad got steak and eggs, and gave a big thumbs up of approval (he's a chef and I trust his judgement). The service was great and it was a cute and friendly diner. I totally recommend!!!
