"As exciting as new things can be, you’d be remiss if you didn’t also spend some time with the city’s architectural elders. As a place that grew rich and stately on the money generated during the Industrial Revolution, Manchester is filled with buildings that tend toward the very grandest of 19th- and early-20th-century tastes. Although it’s currently closed to visitors, the neo-gothic Town Hall is an impressive mass of spires and towers.Just next door you can visit the Central Library, whose giant domed roof is propped up by imposing stone pillars. Entry is free, and visitors can enjoy the silence between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday and Saturday. Just a 15-minute walk from the library, you can visit the Manchester Cathedral, a building that has only deepened in character as it has survived numerous wars, bombings, and remodelings. You can find out more of its story by visiting, for free, seven days a week. The Tourist Board runs a daily walking tour that takes you through the highlights for $12. The tour sets off at 11:00 AM each day from the Central Library." - MATADOR_NETWORK

City Center Bishop Ranch is one of our favorite places to spend time as a family. There’s a great mix of restaurants, clothing stores, and even kids' shops and activity centers. The outdoor play area with shade is a huge plus for the little ones, and there's plenty of room for them to run around safely. Weekends can get crowded, but it’s worth it—especially on Saturdays when there's a farmers market in the parking lot. Parking is easy to find, which is rare these days. Equinox is there too if you want to fit in a workout. Between the nice dining options, shopping, and regular events, there’s always something to do. Definitely a go-to spot for a fun, laid-back outing.

Captured these moments through my own lens today. The sunset at Annabel Trail, the calm water, and the quiet of nature brought me peace. Sometimes, just sitting still and watching is enough… These photos reflect that simple serenity.

This shopping center is different. It’s clean and has more restaurants than shops. It’s very good for people to stay outside and smell nature and also good for hosting events. I feel like that this place is usually a drop-by area to dine in and pick up food based on the amount of restaurants. There is no Macy’s, JcPenny, and Nordstrom. Of course they have a Starbucks no surprise. I like how this place looks technologically advanced due to infrastructure and exterior like we traveled to the future. I definitely will be coming back here to dine in new restaurants.

This is amazing with so many shops and eatery's and play area for children and wet area to cool off. It's great place to spend the day window shopping and eating great foods

Google
Great new city center. Every weekend this month they are having holiday celebrations with Santa and a beautiful Christmas tree. Because of the way they are opening, some stores aren't ready yet but every month new stores will open up.

Google
Hard to rate because only a quarter of the stores are open. Currently the only food options are Starbucks, Boba Guys and Fieldworks. Slanted For is supposed to open by the end of the year. There are 3 stores open on the second level and 5-7 open on the first level. There is a rolling schedule of restaurants opening with the last wave not scheduled to open until the end of next year. I understand why they might not want to open everything at one time but a whole year later seems rediculous. It is a nice open space but I cannot rate the parking. Valet parking is available.

Google
Only giving 3 stars as I did make it known to local security that blocking a handicap spot for who knows what (0 events were happening, 0 valet companies present etc,.) is very rude not to mention illegal and discriminatory and I’m visiting from a red state! I realize there are other spots around this city center but as the family member of a wheel chair user this was not a good first impression. Also a super rude looking audi driver was stalling in a handicap spot opposite this one, sounds like this part of town isnt a huge fan of disabled patrons. I would give 1 star but the kid area was very well maintained and the sprinkler/misting spots were well received by my kids. Do better San Ramon 🥸

Google
Fun place to hang out. Shopping, great food options, movies. Nice little open area for kids to play in the center of the mall. Don't forget to get a change of clothes for your little ones as there's also the interactive water sprinkler/ fountain that kids enjoy running into.

Yelp
Always a fun place to be at on weekends. The City Center has come a long. Way since it opened. Now there are so many shops and it's always bustling on weekends. There's so much to do here. If you're in the mood for a luxury movie theater, then the LOT is a great option. There are many eateries to appease all your cravings as well as that sweet tooth. The parking is able and the shops are easy to navigate. The common area in the middle is pretty nice for families or if you're looking for a place to relax.

Yelp
We were in town and stopped by here for some dinner. The City Center was very busy. The parking lot was full. Parking was challenging. The City Center has a variety of restaurants and some shops. The place has two levels with outside parking and a parking garage. The center was nice. It was vibrant place.

Ed S.

Yelp
We went to the City Center to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. The place was decorated with Chinese dragon balloons. They have a section for children to play and a booth where people can buy dim sum They let this place look festive and help celebrate Chinese New Year. I congratulate management for getting this place set up to celebrate Lunar New Year

Noreen S.

Yelp
Bishop Ranch is a newly developed town, and this Shopping Center is brand new and huge. Lots of restaurants to choose from and walking distance to other stores across the street like Target, Whole Foods, and Crumble Cookies and more. In the center there are mini playground for the children, a movie theater that also has a restaurant and bbar inside of it called The Lot. Pretty cool place to hangout.

Yelp
"Good Restaurants & Beer, Awkward Parking, Tough Handicap Parking." We have visited this spot numerous times, patronizing both Fieldworks as well as various restaurants. Our visits are generally good. We really like Mendocino farms, as well as Fieldworks. My wife likes the ice cream place also, but I think it's way overpriced. I find the parking awkward. Of course, you can always drive up into the parking garage, which adds a few minutes to your visit. I prefer to try to find a closer spot. I generally am successful. So overall a good location. It's not perfect, but nothing is. And I can always console myself with another pint from Fieldworks. The one thing that's odd is the dearth of handicap parking spots. My wife is handicapped and on our last visit we could not find a spot anywhere close to where we wanted to be. There appear to be only two handicap spots near each main entrance.

Yelp
4++ A lively retail center that pretty much acts as San Ramon's de facto 'downtown' area. You'll find a good variety or selection of higher end retail stores, recognizable restaurants/ eateries, a movie theater and fun experiences - both temporary and permanent for the whole family. I find myself coming here pretty much every time I visit family in the area. I grew up in the area and there really wasn't anything like this in the area. Now, anytime I want to grab food, coffee, dessert, or even a beer (a brewery I'm fond of is located here), it's just so convenient. Even when I want to hang out with my brother's dog. This place is outdoors so it's also dog friendly. Just keep in mind it could get really crowded and with other dogs. I actually worked in the retail real estate industry for a very long time. In terms of design, I would say this place is straight forward and pretty easy to navigate (it is one large lot/ block). I've been in and seen centers that are like mazes. Tenant mix is good and the lively crowds is evidence that people love coming here. I kinda wondered why the average score wasn't higher so I looked at a few other reviews. One in particular where a person probably works close by so they check in here often gaining the 'duke' title and pulling rank by changing their score from really high to really low because of a change in valet parking prices? Like wut? LoL. That's wild, lol. I've never used valet to park here so I guess I can't speak to the effect the price change has on my temperament I guess. Parking is pretty standard for a center like this. Any busy retail center is going to make the parking situation a little stressful. When it gets really crowded, you may have to park further away and since it's by a business park, that could be challenging.

Leo L.

Yelp
As the standing Duke, I disapprove the new valet rate. $8 was ok. $15 is just too much considering people usually don't stay here for more than 2 hours. In the name of the Dukedom I condemn this!

Connie M.

Yelp
I guess this center is considered downtown San Ramon? It's a newer building with a very central design. All of the restaurants and shops wrap around the center.I'm seeing a lot more chains and mainstream stores in the center, not much mom and pop kind of places, maybe because rent here seems silly expensive. It's got Dumpling Time, Roam Burgers, Maragume, Mendocino Farms, Salt and straw, Starbucks, Peets, Athleta, Anthropologie albeit a small one, Madewell, Nike, Sephora, and a brewery. It's nice when you want to come hang out, walk the doggie, and have your kids bounce around but something about this place doesn't feel warm, maybe it's the steel looking beams and coloring? The food can get pricey as most of it is sit down places but overall it's a nice place to be if you want to bring a family and have them pick where they want to eat.

Annabelle R.

Yelp
Modern and inviting shopping and entertainment center with a nice family friendly atmosphere, even a water feature to get wet on warmer days and plenty of space and seating at the center of the outdoor mall. There are several fashion stores, home goods, and beauty services, but I'm not big on the shopping here. I've enjoyed the LOT for movies and drinks, and met with some friends this past weekend for some gaming entertainment at Sandbox VR, dinner at Mendocino Farms with healthier food options, and finishing off our day with sweet treats from Salt & Straw. I'm sure at some point it will get old, but for now just good times at City Center Bishop Ranch. Also, plenty of parking here (900 spaces according to the signs).

Nyla J.

Yelp
We absolutely love bishop ranch. This place is super kid freindly with an out door play area dedicated to kids and delicious restaurants surrounding the green grass area where kids can be kids and adults can enjoy a comfortable, healthy meal. There are some people that can stay the whole day there and has everything you need. Retail stores include athletica, Nike, pottery barn for kids just to name a few. There are clean bathrooms, alcohol, excellent dining choices, with boba guys and its all kid freindly!. Oh and parking is free!!! Yes, this is mom approved! We will return

Yelp
What a nice outdoor shopping center/mall that San Ramon has. I walked through this mall today which happened to be Halloween. I saw people sitting around, eating, and drinking. Parents spending time with their children as they play in the designated area in the center of the Bishop Ranch. This mall is also dog friendly, so I saw people taking photos of their dogs dressed up in Halloween attire. All the stores were immaculate and organized. All the high end stores like West Elm, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma. Nike, Gap, Sephora, you name it, it's here. Lots of parking for shoppers. But what set this shopping center apart for me is how relaxed I felt. I didn't feel unsafe and I saw how everyone was relaxed and having a good time. That is something that has been lost in many parts of the Bay Area, including the dumpster fire I call home, Oakland. Just 30 minutes away from thug life and I'm in a modern utopia.

Marianne F.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to this center, the first time I was in a rush and only came for one thing:Boba Guys. But this time I brought my 2 daughters and my best friend. We were able to enjoy ourselves by having an early dinner and afterwards roam around the center checking out what stores were there. Definitely a more upscale type of outdoor mall. It is very spacious and clean. This is an amazing place to bring your entire family. There is a canopy top area covering the turf/grass for shade where we saw some families set up their picnic blankets to watch their kids run around. They have a cool splash pad area where the kids love to gravitate to, I thought it was cool that the water came out in a mist (great way to save on water, even with it being recycled!) One thing...I wish there were a few more clothing stores to choose from, but that's ok. I was able to check out Sephora, Pottery Barn Kids, next time I'll check out GAP.

Erin J.

Yelp
What an awesome transformation of a dull office area to a lively retail and restaurant space. Even a very busy farmers market. Young and with the right mix of stores. Way to go San Ramon!

Cyndi C.

Yelp
It's a big rectangular space with a lot of children's classes and activities upstairs. The water or steam area for kids downstairs is cool. The design overall is modern. Considering the amount of space there weren't that many stores because each store is quite spacious. There are several bar restaurants, I imagine quite happening in the evenings. Farmers market on weekends in the parking lot. Bonus points for having a Philz.

Allie P.

Yelp
I've been here when there weren't that many businesses actively open and wow has it changed over time. I came here the other night to run an errand and had to park in the parking structure for the first time. Not a big deal - I was actually excited to see what the structure was going to be like. It didn't take me long to find a spot (phew!) I got really lucky on level 2 right by the interior building stairs and a corner spot. The outside interior courtyard area was filled (per usual) with families with small kids. The restaurants were packed with guests dining inside and outside with their large groups and children. There was a giant lit up Christmas tree by the escalators which looked nice. A few Shopping establishments: - Sephora - Anthropologie - Nike - Lina Shatara Designs - George (pet store) - GAP - West Elm - Williams Sonoma - Bay Area Redwood - Athleta - L'OCCITANE en Provence - Hellers Jewelers & Rolex - Madewell - Lovesac - Pedego - Pottery Barn - & more! A few Wellness establishments: - Equinox - Aloha Dance Studio - LaserAway - Madison Reed - The Lash Empire - & more! A few Entertainment establishments: - The Lot (movie theatre) - Ice Rink (Kristi Yamaguchi - seasonal) - Water feature (popular with the kids during warm days) - Grassy Shaded area + Seating - Fire pit seating areas A few Dining establishments: - Delarosa - Curry Up Now - Marugame Udon - Mendocino Farms - Boba Guys - Salt & Straw - Joe & The Juice - Starbucks - Sprinkles - MIXT - The Slanted Door - Ramen Hiroshi - Roam Artisan Burgers - Social Affair - World Wrapps - Pietisserie - Philz Coffee - Fieldwork Brewing Company - GIO Gelati - LB Steak - Earth Bar - Dumpling Time - Chow - C Casa - Bamboo Sushi There is limited open parking in the lot with more free parking in the structure. Valet parking is also available. Great place to hangout, shop, eat, and catch a film... its just I can see how parking might be annoying, but luckily haven't had to witness it too bad yet. Hope this place survives for years to come and stays safe and nice.

Margaret L.

Yelp
I came here years ago when they first open. At that time, it was pretty empty, not too many businesses but beautifully constructed, lots of parking and open space. Fast forward to couple years, this place has changed a lot. Whenever I come here, it's definitely crowded and more full. I used to easily get parking in the open lot and now it's a battle. Even the parking structure is busy and crowded! There's a lot of great restaurants and establishments here, I am so happy to see Dumpling Time, Marugame Udon, Boba guys, etc. I also love that it's so children and dog friendly. I can bring my dog and kids here and know it's a place to welcome our family! Overall, I am pretty happy with the City Center complex. I like that they do community events here like the tree lighting. I haven't been to the farmer's market here but I expect it's popular!

Mitra D.

Yelp
Great place to eat. Many choices and variety for restaurant. Beautiful place to hangout.

Nohemy C.

Yelp
We don't live in the area but have been here countless times to meet up with friends and family. It's right off the 680 & has a lot of food options and free parking. It's that kind of center that has a Pottery Barn Kids so the shops and restaurants are not inexpensive. It is family friendly which I now look for and appreciate the family friendly restrooms and lactation rooms with doors. It's very busy on the weekends but Ive never not found parking. The kids are abundant in the center space with a water pad. It has enough to walk around and spend a few hours during the day. Our favorite is Fieldwork for the craft beer. I do NOT recommend The Lot for food.

Jasmine B.

Yelp
A good place to stop and enjoy a bite to eat, drink or sweet treat! My favorite spots at City Center are; Boba Guys, Salt & Straw, Fieldworks, C Casa, Sephora and Athleta. I like the emphasis on outdoor seating and the ample parking. I do wish there was more signage in the parking garage because it is easy to get lost while walking to find your car. The Saturday farmers market is a nice touch and worth checking out. I've had Marugame Udon & Curry up Now before, but looking forward to trying them at City Center in the near future.

Nick P.

Yelp
Great shopping area out in San Ramon. We love how pet-friendly it is here. There's a lot of nice retail stores to shop at for clothing and home goods/interior decorating. Also plenty of restaurants here with patio dining available too. Our little pug had a blast here. City Center Bishop Ranch is a great addition to San Ramon. There's parking available around the plaza but there's also a large parking garage too if you can't find an open spot.

Matthew H.

Yelp
This location has great potential to be great, but when it first opened in 2018, many were and still disappointed. This outdoor mall was trying to emulate a high end showy place with many stores selling expensive boutique items, valet parking, and little to no stores that many locals would want to shop at. Back then, The City Center wanted to be something that it isn't... like the Stanford Shopping Center. They completely missed who there clientele was in suburban San Ramon. Fast forward today, many of those stores disappeared or closed or moved on providing new spots for the Nike store (coming soon), Gap, and new places to eat such as World of Wraps, Curry up Now, LB steak, and salt and straw. I think the developers caught on, that the people in the suburbs enjoyed great food and family oriented stores and now this center is starting to be on par with the community of San Ramon! Bonus*** New Shops and Restaurants coming to the City Center include: RESTAURANTS 1. Marugame Udon 2. Sprinkles 3. Dumpling Time (summer 2022) SHOPS 1. La Vie Nail Bar 2. Nike by San Ramon 3. Sandbox VR

Frances n.

Yelp
10/2023: still not feeling better to come to the Bishop Ranch Center. Food choices are only OK, but parking has gotten worse, almost always have to go to the roof to find parking, then you have to walk down, easily 10-15 minutes extra time if you are hungry. Not to mention the street from Bollinger moves slowly into this mall. If you are in a hurry do not come here. It will help you "kill time" but not in a good way.

Johnny W.

Yelp
When I first came here back in 2019, there were barely any businesses here, but now they are filled with shops & restaurants, so this place is ultra crowded during the weekends & holidays. This has turned out to be a huge hang out place to go at in the San Ramon area. Parking is plentiful, but you may have to drive around on the busy days and if you prefer to park outside. If you drive to the 3rd level and above in the parking garage, you should always find parking. They have plenty of charging options for EV owners; with 16 Tesla destination chargers, and 6 Clipper Creek J-1772 chargers in the parking garage. They also have 2 Tesla & 2 Clipper Creek chargers outside at the valet section of the outdoor parking area. Although finding an EV charge during the peak hours are extremely difficult. I do hope they'll add more in the future. As for the ships, they are mostly the high end businesses. As for the cleanliness of the plaza, it is very clean! They have some of the nicest public bathrooms that I've ever seen in a shopping plaza. I do enjoy coming here, similar to an outlet mall, I like coming here during the off peak hours and I tend to avoid this place on weekends and the holidays because it's so crowded.

Zak R.

Yelp
As a shopping center this is poorly designed in terms of parking, store layouts, and ease of use. As a place to socialize and Loiter it seems fine. Wouldn't come here again.

Jose P.

Yelp
I had the worst experience at City Center today. I was calling the reception all day to find out if the movie theater was open and no one was answering the phone. I drove down to City Center and the manager was so rude to me. It is so sad for people that we live in San Ramon that was that we have to argue with people that they really don't have class. It is not just them is the entire city center. The information regarding the time of the stores are incorrect. They said they close at seven some of the locations are close to 6PM. I rather drive 20 more minutes and go all the way to Walnut Creek, where all the information is correct and they do have great customer service. I will never come back to City Center

Pamela C.

Yelp
My first time here today, huge place and lots of parking which of course is great when you pay attention...I was looking for a certain restaurant and Brie with security told me exactly where to go. I couldn't find my car when I was ready to leave and Natalie in guest services was amazing & so helpful! Totally appreciate Brie & Natalie! Thank you. Great place but parking can be confusing if you are not familiar FYI

Jenavie C.

Yelp
Came here to bring my teens and their boy/girlfriend ice skating. Lots of cute shops both small business and chain stores. Though it's not a huge plaza the open court makes it feel bigger than it is. Didn't get to watch a movie here but is on my list of movie plex to check out.

Venna Q. T.

Yelp
It feels like an inconvenience for most people, but I personally feel that the COVID restrictions have made shopping more pleasant. Long gone are the days of people pushing through, to get to another part of a store. Or even worse, (literally) breathing down the back of your neck as some people have no understanding or regard for others' personal space. Each store is very responsibly limiting the number of customers allowed in at a time. How much nicer is it to shop without feeling like everyone is swirling around you, rushing to get to checkout or snap up whatever is being sold? It's a great feeling. It also makes it a lot better for the employees who have a chance to reduce virus spread and sanitize their work spaces. If you don't want to wait in line, wake up early and go when the stores first open. I did just that this morning on a Sunday and it was lovely. Even when it got to lunch time, I still felt comfortable walking around with my two dogs and partner. A lot of the dining establishments offer online or phoning in an order ahead of time. Highly recommended, especially with places like Boba Guys. Order online and just walk up to get your drinks! The restrooms are spacious, clean, and there's even an area to park your stuff if you're with at least one other person (for the women's bathroom, at least). There's even several hangers within every stall and a high shelf behind each toilet to stash your shopping. The sinks and soap dispensers are touch free too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your own water bottles and use the water dispensers. The stores here aren't for everyone, as they're a bit above the average spend range for clothing and home goods. Unfortunately, a lot of stores couldn't move in so there's quite a number of empty storefronts. I personally appreciate it, as most other malls are now overcrowded.

Daniel C.

Yelp
San Ramon was in need of a downtown for a long time. With City Center, we have a two-level outdoor mall with restaurants, a luxury movie theater, Equinox gym, and various upscale clothing and furniture stores. They got a Fieldwork Brewing along with the obligatory Starbucks and Boba place (Boba Guys). Definitely a lively place to grab lunch during the workweek or after-work drinks and eats. In the winter, they'll put up a giant Christmas tree and lights everywhere. All of this was Pre-COVID. During COVID, we came here briefly to give our 7-month old a fresh change of scenery. It was a great place for him to see and hear other kids along with dogs of all shapes and sizes. The businesses here all adopted COVID-safe practiced. All the customers (with maybe 1-2 exceptions) wore masks when not dining in the outdoor patio areas. Parking is free and plentiful. My favorite businesses here are Delarosa, Starbucks, Roam Artisan Burger, Mixt, Bamboo Sushi, and Williams Sonoma. Here's hoping that the City Center will continue to grow and thrive once this crazy pandemic subsides.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Very fortunate enough to live close by to eat and charge our EV's at this high end outdoor mall. I come often for Marugame Udon and Philz coffee. This place consist high end stores like Pottery Barn, Heller Jewelers. Saturday's Farmers market Family hangout

Mary L.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful and relaxing place to stroll around, bike around, and dine out. Very well maintained and colorful. Lots of trees and beautiful views in the area. Easy access to/from freeways. Excellent upkeeps. Huge free public parking garage with plenty of space. Valet parking also available. This plaza is filled with holiday vibes. Great for dining out and the social life. Good restaurant and cafe selections. I wish they created more outlets and retail shops like the ones found in Hawaii which were amazing. It's a very similar concept, but this location is much smaller. You can see empty retail spaces upstairs and downstairs. Families take their children and dogs out for a lovely stroll here. Majority of folks out here during workdays are professionals working in the area. I actually enjoyed the visit today. Very millennial and modern design space. Ireland had similar spaces. Plenty of tables and chairs outside. I liked the second floor couches, which turned out to be more quiet and in a shady part away from direct sunlight. Come for quick retail window shopping or grab a quick bite. Japanese ramen and udon can be found here. Love it.

Ariana A.

Yelp
Saturday's are my favorite days to visit Bishop Ranch because of the farmer's market. It is the nicest farmer's market that I've been to so far in the Bay Area with tons of food truck options, fresh produce, desserts, and more. I love buying an array of food and sitting on the (fake) grass surrounded by the restaurants, stores, and the (super) mini water park for kids. I love how everyone else also brings their picnic blankets to have lunch on the grass. The parking lot gets filled up very quickly, so we usually park across the street in the Whole Foods lot. Though, if you don't come on a Saturday, the shopping center is quite boring. The stores are so-so and the second floor is barren. Yes, there are some restaurants and businesses, but even on the weekends, people aren't really going out of their way to walk up there. I think more clothing and accessories boutiques and a Barnes and Noble would do well in the area. There's Madewell and Anthropologie, but other than that, nothing too eye catching. My favorites places to grab a bite are Salt & Straw for ice cream, Gio's Gelato, Boba Guys, and Mendocino Farms (I love their pork belly banh mis). Overall it's a pleasant and safe outdoor shopping center with decent food choices.

Kimball L.

Yelp
There are good restaurants and plenty of social activity at the mall. Across the street are the convenience stores that add to the shopping convenience.

Wendy S.

Yelp
We love this place! The only downside for us is that it's not closer to where we live (or we'd be here more often). First off, there's Fieldwork Brewing Company, one of our favorite breweries. This location is great! it's a really beautiful, welcoming environment. Sitting outside on their patio is a great way to relax and enjoy an afternoon. If it's a little chilly, they have some fire pits to sit by. There's also great bites next store at C Casa to enjoy with your beer. We've also had great dining experiences at Bamboo Sushi. They serve very high quality, certified sustainable fish, which we love to support. In addition, their saki selection is fantastic. Overall, we love this center's selection of quality shops and restaurants. Prior to this, there was nothing like it the area. If you're looking for your typical mall to buy your jeans and underwear followed by a stop at Cinnabon, there are plenty to choose from all over the East Bay. If your looking for some great, high quality eats and shops, plus a beautiful environment (with plenty of parking), this is it.

Grace L.

Yelp
They have excellent stores selection. Putting High End store made this location an upgrade in my opinion. Personally, I can't wait for other stores to open up. While this place is a hit to visit during the holidays.....with the Christmas Trees and lights lit and all, How will it compare to regular days of the year? The reason why they have a crowd coming here is because of the Christmas tree and the movie Theater. Anyhow, They did a nice job architecture wise. Parking is convenient from all angles.......parking garage is huge. It's very festive here during the holidays.

Yelp
Horrible parking layout based on design ego vs practicality. Any popular time in the evening/ weekends is pointless to even try to go and park. Parking garage 'open stalls' counters at the garage are always several hundred cars off. Tried to go a few times when there were 300+ open spaces on the digital boards but in actuality zero parking available. Solid lines of cars going all the way in and circling straight out to the exit-- everyone was pissed off and frustrated as we all wasted 15 minutes sitting in traffic with hope, but there was never any in reality.

Wow. New way of dining, kinda of like Scottsdale's Kierland Commons, upscale shopping and dining all outdoors, no outdoor dining misters for the heat though. But no cycads either buzzing! Yelp
On the fence about this place. It's good for young people.. seems trendy hip. At first it's a bit confusing, especially if you're looking for a certain store. Probably takes getting use to. Mabye the entire vibe of San Ramon is shifting. Doesn't feel like a small town anymore. I guess if i wanted to reminisce i should just exit Crow Canyon and shop Costco and Marshalls. I do like stores like Boba Guys.. wanted to check out Nike ... but most of my shopping is done online now. But good to know they are here.

Yelp
This new shopping center was in my list for a year now. Recently I had the opportunity to visit it and was a little disappointed by the still many unopened stores, lack of personality in general and pretentious valet parking with no much utility in my opinion. There was a farmers market occupying a big chunk of space and that gives always some life. However I found there was so much lack of greenery, places to sit and too big but too empty feeling in this mall. Maybe because is covid times still and also business are coming in. Hopefully gets more busy and happier looking soon. What I love, though, is the graphic design all over the place, I took pictures everywhere! Some cool boutiques but even I am a fan of Anthropologie store, the one in this mall was not comparable to others I have seen. Maybe too green the whole building still?

Yelp
I don't know how I feel about this place. We've been to almost everything, but not sure if I love it enough, but I don't hate it. I work nearby and traffic is horrendous on Bollinger Canyon during commute hours. There's word going on with a City Center expansion the next lot over, along with more housing that is going to be a bigger traffic nightmare. The shops are moderate to high end in range (and meant to be): There's Sephora, Anthropologie (my favorite), Madewell, Athleta, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma and West Elm. The other shops are high-end/priced boutiques. George is a cute pet store (one day I'll bring my dog to visit). We really could use a book store here. Maybe a Drybar or nail salon? The restaurants keep expanding and I haven't been to them all: Roam, Mendocino Farms (I prefer office catering), Mixt (mixed feelings), Slanted Door (very good but $$), C-Casa, Fieldwork (popular hangout), Social Affair, Gio Gelati (yum), Boba Guys (very popular with the kids) and Starbucks. There's Equinox the gym: They have offer Kiehls products in their locker rooms and the eucalyptus towels are nice after a workout. I joined it when they offered a great deal, but I plan to cancel because some classes injured me and I can't risk getting hurt again (my achilles will never be the same). I keep getting hit up to use a personal trainer, yeah-no. The Lot: This is a very nice movie theater with seat service and a full menu. The recliners are very nice. I encourage people to check it out at least once (i.e., date night). If you like it, go back. We've gone there a few times, but only go if the time slot works for us. There's a big play area in the middle of the courtyard which is surprisingly crowded during the weekday lunch hour. Parking is a challenge: If you see a space, park and walk. If you have an EV car - there is EV parking. I know some people with EV cars complain that Tesla's park in the regular EV slots even though they have their own designated Tesla EV spots.

Yelp
Newer shopping center that brings in stores familiar San Francisco. Great experience just avoid the rabbit hole of a parking garage. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Now open long enough to be mostly filled in with stores... all the good stuff you know from the city: Joe and the Juice and Roam Burgers for example. Really good food especially for what is technically a mall. Boba Guys had a ridiculous line tonight - but its expected that the good stuff can also be very popular. Avoid the parking garage. Its like this rabbit hole that disorients you. Everything looks the same. Nothing is color coded. When you enter the mall from one of the many entrances its confusing. They did have lots of electric vehicle parking spots and one was open which was great. If you don't need EV charge don't come in here tho. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Lights and decorations all over. One store is there to wrap gifts for you too if your not into that sort of thing and want to save time.

Yelp
This is a stunningly beautiful outdoor retail plaza... except for the fact that it is half empty. There are a considerable number of vacant storefronts which kinda gives off the impression of a retail center in decline, instead of one that is up-and-coming. I think they probably should have delayed the opening until they had more shops occupied, but the ones that are there are pretty great. There's a massive Pottery Barn across the aisle from an equally large West Elm. The inventory is fantastic and makes me glad that I only bring one suitcase when I come out here to visit. There are lots of smaller clothing and accessory stores catering to a wide variety of tastes. The Sephora here is an absolute gem; both because of the inventory, as well as the staff who work there. There are a few fast casual restaurants (Mendocino Farms, Mixt, and a taqueria who's name I cannot remember), as well as a few bars and sit-down restaurants. There is also a movie theater as well as a gym on-site. What I really enjoy the most in the courtyard. There is a little splash area for kids to play in, a fairly large seating area, and even a public piano. During my last visit, there were some folks taking turns on the keys and filling the area with really beautiful music. Loved that. I hope that they can fill the rest of the retail spaces soon because this place has the potential to be a really incredible venue.

Yelp
Parking is so bad. I stopped coming here and shop in Walnut Creek instead! Be prepared to take longer looking for parking then picking your things up! It's that bad and even worse on the weekends! People let their dirty dogs come up to your table when you're eating. Getting dog hair everywhere. Really gross and really rude of the people there! I had to knee a dogs chest to slow him down! That's how clueless those people are. All bad.

Yelp
You know what. I can't hate on this place. It's a nice new addition to the Bishop Ranch area. I don't hang out there much. I pretty much go in and out for specific shops or items. But I've never had issues finding parking or feeling claustrophobic with too many people, then again I go in the middle of a week day which probably isn't too bad. It's right across from work so it's super convenient to drop by and they have an Athleta, Starbucks, and if I'm really desperate...a Boba Guys. I just hope they have shops that are a little less boutique or high end but I know they're trying to cater to the brand and look. The movie theater looks nice but the prices are so exorbitant that unless you're looking to splurge, you may not want to go here. There's a few restaurants that are open which again a little bougie, but again they're catering to a specific clientele. I'm looking forward to the gelateria when it opens. Overall, a nice spot to hang out, walk around, and do a little splurge shopping.

Yelp
Well, it's finally happened. San Ramon has a city center. All these years, we've been wondering if the center of San Ramon is on Crow Canyon or Bollinger Canyon. Answer: It's Bollinger. San Ramon built a city hall next to the Iron Horse Trail near Central Park. Now, a sprawling 3-story white office building was torn down, and in its place is . . . City Center Bishop Ranch! Well, yip yip yahoo. I work a little ways from City Center, so I went there today after eating lunch. Let's see how this place is. * It's a mall, all right. An open-air two-story mall. As of this writing, more than half the spaces aren't open yet. But it looks like it's 100% leased. * Good sized courtyard in the middle. Tables and chairs to sit at and eat. Astroturf for the kids to play on. Water park. * The Lot is a combination restaurant and theater. Good concept, let's see if it works. * The restaurants and furniture stores are middle-priced. They're trying to get the crowd that likes trendy. * Could be a turnoff for people who are accustomed to driving into a parking lot and then walking to the building. City Center has no parking lot. Instead, the entire south area is three floors of parking. See Sweet B's review. City Center is trying to get people to come in, with a Farmers Market twice a week and a Christmas tree in December. There weren't many people there when I visited. On the other hand, that was on a cold February afternoon. San Ramon can get windy, and the courtyard is surrounded by forty feet of buildings, so that'll help. So who will come to City Center? Suburbanites who live in this area? Bishop Ranch office workers? People who stay at the Marriott? Time will tell. Right now, it's a yawner.

Yelp
Small shopping mall that has basic stores, restaurant and a really good Cinema that has nice seats, good food and cheap tickets. The stores are more tailored for families - think West elm, Williams Sonoma and clothing stores that offer children's clothes as well. Easy to find parking and across the road from Whole foods and a handful of other restaurants. The Equinox here is also the best In the bay area. New, big and empty which an amazing roof top pool. There is a large fountain that little kids can play in during the summer and also artificial turf area for playing around.

Yelp
Surprisingly, I've never actually been to City Center Bishop Ranch after it had been officially completed a bit back. Of course with how bad the timing is that right after it's built, soon after we hit the whole COVID issue, it's certainly not where it probably could and should be. It's in a fairly busy part of Bollinger Canyon, as it's right across from another shopping center, and just blocks away from a couple of others off of Market. If you're driving down Bollinger you really can't miss the building, as it's in its own, very opened spaced parking lot. From the outside, it looks like a nice building, sort of like a what you'd see in SF, with very high ceilings, and lots of open space and clear windows. From the outskirts looking in, definitely feels more like a convention center as well if you don't go inside. It's got the outlet style vibe, so there's a main open area in the center of the structure that doesn't have a roof over it, and small walkways on the sides where smaller shops would occupy. Overall, aesthetically speaking, it's a nice place. I've been told that pre-COVID, this was actually also a nice place to bring your kids, as they had plenty of play areas, a water fountain area, and some other things kids could pick up and play with. However, right now, none of that was there, understandably, so interested to see what that would be like once it's safe to return. Now, let's get to the shops. While the places looks great, it is unfortunately hampered by how empty half of the structure is. There are many empty spaces that just aren't occupied by an actual store, so it's just an empty part of the building. I would say maybe 60/40 occupied currently, and I'm not sure if this is because of COVID, or some other reason, but I was also told from a frequenter that even before, only maybe 50% of the place had shops there. The stores themselves are just kind of, not quite as accessible as I thought they would be. They're kind of all over the place, but not necessarily in a good way. Most of the shops that are there, weren't really of interest to me, and it just feels like this place is trying to give off too much of a shi-shi feel to all of the shops. I understand it's great that you have this great structure, and aesthetically very pleasing, but the store fronts that are opened here are just incredibly hit or miss, unless you're somebody that's coming here specifically for a particular store located, it's not really a whole lot for those who may want to just come down to peruse and maybe find something they'd like. Wish there was better variety here, but again, not sure if this is due to COVID, or it's always been sort of like this from a storefront perspective from the start. While there are certainly a couple of places that would be good for food and drinks, all the other shops just really feel like it's trying too hard to appeal to a certain crowd in the surrounding areas that I'm not sure it's really being targeted correctly, especially considering they're literally right across the street from another shopping center that's more accessible, and then just down the street from another as well. Just kind of feels like a miss. Definitely want to see this place a bit more at its full capacity though once things start to normalize again. Lots of potential, just wish I could see it currently.

Yelp
Came to take the kids to the sandbox (no plug) and had to wait around so this place had comfortable chairs, water mist coming from the ground for kids , a big ass piece of turf grass for any size kid to run and tire they self out on while the grown ups relax with gratefulness of a play area. All the stores are glass which makes it so easy to window shop . With this being my first time it was no doubt peaceful with a bizzy environment and a mix of culture. Make sure to bring a jacket n gloves the cold does seem to whip across you when least expected ‍.

Yelp
Soft opening in the fall of 2018 means that a number of the shops are still not open. Here's my review for what is currently available. Wins - Plenty of parking in the new multiple story structures. There's even an additional structure across the street, and it's all free. - Great location on Bollinger near 680. - Center courtyard open and in crowded with kids structures and live music. - Top notch restrooms with quality fixtures - Compact design where you could see the whole thing in about 15 minutes. Losses - Only a few shops and restaurants open, with some coming as later as summer 2019. - Limited selection of what looks like only high end shops. - Traffic on Bollinger will get worse, and being wedged between The Shops at Bishop Ranch and The Marketplace will make holiday shopping a nightmare. Looking forward to seeing how it all develops....
