Great music, great food (able to accompany dietary needs/requests), but an 18% service charge???? Ended up paying $58 for breakfast for two.

Google
Our food was yummy, but the restaurant itself seems pretty old. They need to replace their chair cushions. Our server also forgot my mom's side dish, and it only arrived by the time she was already halfway done with her sandwich. Honestly I feel like it's kind of pricey here. I probably will only come here again for their daily bottomless mimosas — seems like a great place to bring friends and have a dayger.

Google
My favorite place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The food is amazing and the service is nice and friendly, very welcoming. If you are by yourself or with a big group, I would definitely recommend coming here. The manager, Anastasia, is so sweet and nice making sure you have the best experience. I will be coming here very frequently.

Google
Price gouge city. 18% service charge (for whaaaat?) Huge plates, small portions (lol) food is bland & watered down literally. Drinks, sauces all watered down. Prices are outrageous. My waiter did his part to help and for that I’m grateful but anytime you see a menu the size of a Bible, I think it’s safe to say it’s about quantity and not quality. Too bad.

Nice place to hang out. Margarita is great. All portions are big. Kids friendly (not spacy). My 7 years old son likes waffles.

Google
It was EXCELLENT!!! I have a new favorite spot in NoHo. The meal itself was $20, but it could feed 2 people. I wish I had room for more food, it was so delicious. The space is roomie, no bumping into other chairs getting up, and the staff were higher quality than I expected. I don't want to jinx anything by saying they can charge more. I'd say try this place before they do charge more. FYI - I'm vegaterian my companion is a meat eater.

Google
This place is extremely artsy and a great place to just chill with friends. Everyone had mimosas and was having a great time jamming to their Playlist. Service was quick and friendly. The food was okay... but decent for the price. There are a ton of options for anyone with dietary restrictions or requirements.

Google
Never had bad food or bad service in either in-house dining or delivery! The food is fresh, perfect portions and totally delicious and the service is always excellent 👌 😋

Yelp
I've been here about 3 times already and everytime it's been a great experience everyone there is always so friendly, the food is great and it's always great energy! I'd definitely recommend friends and family here!

Yelp
The setting was very good and calm . My food was burnt but then prepped again no problem . The Mimosa was amazing

Yelp
Please know that I have only gotten delivery from them as I am immune compromised and so I stay home a lot. But a girl has to eat right?? Lol So I will not be going over the ambiance of the place or the service as I have never stepped foot inside. Now onto the food!! I got their pancakes and French toast specials. The pancakes were ok. They were a little chewy for me. The French toast on the other hand was DELICIOUS!! it came with powdered sugar and some fresh berries The pancakes were only a 2.5/5. The French toast was a 5/5. The eggs came cooked exactly as I ordered and the bacon was delicious as well. It was well cooked and on the crispier side. I am not a fan of those types of bacon but my hubby loved them as they are exactly the type of bacon that he likes. They were crispy but they still had some meat to them. I also got an iced latte and an iced coffee as well. For me both were a little on the weak side as with the milk added, it did not taste very strong at all. The flavor was ok on both but not exactly my favorite coffee flavor that I have had. The only issue I had was that they did not send maple syrup or butter at all. Thankfully I had maple syrup and butter at home otherwise, I would've had some really sad pancakes. The French toast was sweet enough on its own that it did not need maple syrup. Overall, I most likely will order from here again and add this location to my breakfast rotation.

Yelp
A first time visit to have breakfast with friends at a place to try. I had looked online at the menu before we went and was impressed with the menu and photos that accompanied them. Upon arriving, the decor is very comfortable, dark woods, cool vibe. The servers were friendly, attentive and didn't rush us out when we were finished. Everyone ordered something different. My go to is usually the Classic Eggs Benedict, which I ordered. It looked beautiful when served. My first impression was it didn't have enough Hollandaise. As soon as I started to cut a bite, I knew it wasn't going to be a good experience. The English muffin was so hard I had trouble cutting through it. There was ham, but a tiny piece, in the center of the muffin. Now to the egg which could have rectified this sad beginning, but unfortunately did not. To me what makes an E Benedict is the egg, poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce which has a hint of lemon. The egg verged on being hard boiled, not the oozy runny yolk I was expecting . The hollandaise didn't have much taste at all but did add a touch of moisture to the dish. The best thing on the plate was the fruit. I've had the E Benedict with fruit plate at Mimi's Cafe in Northridge which was very good and it's $4 less. If I were to come again, I'd get a waffle dish. They looked good and my friends enjoyed their food. My husband's egg dish ( the BMC omelette) looked dry as well.

Yelp
Worst french toast I ever had. Tasted like old burnt oil and the middle was soggy. They offer 2 for 1 sangrias and bottomless mimosas to mask the taste of their food. When I complained about the taste of my french toast, I was told by the staff that I ate half of it. Well yes I tried to eat it and how else would I know it was bad??? They gave me the worst attitude when I asked to remove the 18% service charge for their bad food, I was given the biggest attitude. This is why they put an 18% service charge so that you don't have the option of electing how much to tip or if to tip. If my food was bad, I sure as heck aint tipping. What am I tipping for? Bad food and service with attitude? No thanks. Had the server apologized or offered something on our next visit, or seemed at least a bit concerned about my experience, they'd be getting a different review now. But these people don't care about my experience or whether the food is good.

Yelp
City Kitchen has bottomless mimosas - every day of the week! The banner advertising this was what got our bums in a booth there for the first time. They give you a full bottle of champs and replace it as needed. There are a variety of juices from which to choose. The food is just okay. We've tried steak and eggs, salmon benedict, and the steak sandwich. They all were adequate dishes, plated nicely, good portion sizes. Maybe their pastas or burgers are super bomb, but we've always chosen breakfast or brunch items to pair with the flowing mimosas. The workers are friendly and efficient, though you're encouraged to order through an app. It gets very lively, especially on weekends, and one inconsiderate loud group can take over the entire room with noise. However, there are outside tables too. If you sit outside, you'll be in a wide space between City Kitchen's building and the building next door, which was used as Cobra Kai Dojo in "The Karate Kid". (No scenes were actually filmed in what is now City Kitchen, as the restaurant scenes purported to be right across from the dojo were shot somewhere else - but you'll have a good view of "Cobra Kai", now a gym, from many of City Kitchen's seats.)

Yelp
The biggest disappointment in a very long time. First of all we came as a group of 5 and came to celebrate a friend's birthday. This restaurant doesn't sing or give a dessert to the birthday person. It literally took over 45 minutes just to order our drinks. There were only 2 people working in the entire restaurant. Both men's and women's restrooms were filthy. All plates have extremely small portions. We were also charged 18% for gratuity. When I inquired why they said it was for large groups of parties over 8 and over $300. We were 5 people at $240. I want my Sunday back.
google avatar

LeAnn F.

Yelp
For weekend brunch, this place is packed. They don't have parking but they have free wifi if you want to work here. The staff is super funny and nice. They were always checking in on us. The place is little dark in the back but there's 2 couches in the front near the window with lights. They have bar seating too. You order with QR code or they come and you can order with them. I got the French toast which you can choose what kind of bacon or sausage plus eggs. Just tell them how you want them cooked. The French toast was pretty average. I think they could have soaked in the egg more but the French toast was still pretty moist and good with the cherries. I also got a latte. They let us sit here for pretty long.
google avatar

Dilenia A.

Yelp
The place is cute and the drinks were great, this is why I'm giving it 3 stars because their steak and eggs wasn't as good as I expected it to be. The steak was too bland, had no seasoning/flavor at all! Was truly disappointed

Grant V.

Yelp
What to say about City Kitchen, other than bliss. The mozzarella, the atmosphere and service, the atmosphere. I recommend you eat food here--even if (especially if) it's the last thing you do. If I could be the mayor of this kitchen, I would ask you all for donations to my campaign, please.
google avatar

Nanako H.

Yelp
the hostess was friendly but the manager wasn't. the seating wasn't available bc they didn't let us know there was gonna be filming in the restaurant so they offered us food to go. We paid $17 for waffles but the waffle mix was not good it was bitter and sour and the sausages were overcooked? they were super dry u can barely put a fork through it. we went back in to ask the manager for a refund. we showed her the food and she kept denying us we even told her to try the food because it just wasnt good at all she told us we ate 90% of it which it was not 90% at all there were two bites taken off the waffle and one for the sausage. and the manager even threatened to call the cops on us because we were "critiquing" her food

Yelp
I've been coming here very often for the last couple years considering it's around the corner from my place. From Bottomless mimosa mornings to lunch sandwitches or to what I consider to be the best steak and eggs I've ever had, this place does so well with having quick service and quality food. Always a go to.
google avatar

Katelynn H.

Yelp
Love this place! I had the best omelette there. I asked for extra cheese and they did not skimp out! The coffee is delicious, and love the mimosa deals.
google avatar

Alicia F.

Yelp
I really love the French toast, the brioche made it unique. I wasn't sure about the guava mimosa, but it was a good choice!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place out for awhile. I absolutely love bottomless brunch, and this place isn't far from where I live. Well I'm super glad we were finally able to come. It's right in the heart of the arts district. A great location surrounded by a bunch of other delicious food and drink spots. The restaurant itself was really quiet when we got there. It was a Monday afternoon, so I didn't mind it. The ambience was nice. Bright light, big windows, and had a good energy. We sat down and were greeted right away. We were helped by Anna and Gleb. Both who were kind and attentive to us. Especially since we decided to do bottomless mimosas (yes, they have it EVERY day of the week!). They even have multiple flavors. I have to say guava is my favorite! They have such a large menu and everything looked delicious, it was so hard to choose one thing! I ended up ordering the Morning Wrap and it was delicious. The homemade salsa it comes with is SO good. I also got the garlic cilantro fries with sriracha Mayo and that was an awesome choice. Such great flavor. My partner got the vegan burger and sweet potato fries. He loved both of them. The only negative is that it is a little pricey for what the restaurant looks like. It looks kind of like a diner, but has prices that reflect a higher standard. That being said, the food IS delicious and everything is expensive nowadays. The mimosas were $26 which is more than we're used to spending but only by a few dollars. So overall I'm excited to go back!!! I have to try more menu items!
google avatar

Leslie Z.

Yelp
If I could leave no stars I would. The French toast needs a lot of work. Serving raw French toast is not okay. Also the service took forever! This place could have potential but needs extreme work to get it there.
google avatar

Gabriel A.

Yelp
Nick and Gleb ! Thank you !!! You guys are the best of this. Appreciate you both making our time amazing
google avatar

Jared F.

Yelp
The food here is delicious with such a variety of items on the menu. Their coffee never misses and every time the service is friendly and fast! The design of this place is very color pop and a cool scenery to chill and work or socialize.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
My first time last Saturday coming here and I wish I was more impressed. They were clearly understaffed. The waiter clearly was having a bad day and couldn't even smile. He never even came back to the table after he took our order even though he walked past us several times. Only the guy that was serving the food came to the table and thank God for him! I ordered a breakfast sandwich then decided on a cheesesteak instead. Even though I told him almost immediately, the waiter was obviously annoyed. When the sandwich came, it was so full of fat, there was hardly ANY meat. Also, way too much cheese. I overpaid on the tip not because of great service or food, but hoping they would pay it forward and be better to the next customers.
google avatar

Luke A.

Yelp
Mehh.. Negatives: shady tipping policy, dicey neighborhood, mediocre food. The service was sufficient. Nothing exceptional. I'll start with the reason for the major hit to the score, the tipping policy. When we received our check, we saw that there was a service charge automatically included at 18%. There was no mention of this on the menu or from our server. When I saw this, I immediately thought "ok, let's see what happens when the credit card receipt comes". Lo and behold, there was the standard line for tip. It didn't say "additional tip" or "extra gratuity" just Tip. If you were not paying attention, or didn't review the initial bill, you could very easily double tip. I find this to be an incredibly shady business practice. Especially when they are pushing bottomless mimosas for brunch. Also, we tip at 20% usually, so they are potentially shorting their servers by including 18% by default. I'm not going to sit there to figure out what an additional 2% would be. We just wrote "included" on the tip line and called it a day. The neighborhood isn't great. Lots of drugged up people roaming the streets. The staff shooed away a couple of them that attempted to come inside. The food, for me, was just diner food. A step above something like Denny's. Many people like this kind of food and if that works for you, you'll be happy with what you get. This is the kind of experience that I would normally not review, since it was so unremarkable, but that tipping situation pushed me over the edge.

Talita M.

Yelp
Great service and very accommodating to their customers. The food was also very yummy

Drew M.

Yelp
Loved the French Toast, had a brown butter crust! Delicious! Loved the mimosa! Fast service, friendly waiters, and great music on a chill Saturday afternoon.
google avatar

Star D.

Yelp
Service was good food was really poor. The photographs on the reviews are extremely misleading. The syrup holder was sticky, as was the salt and pepper bottles, eggs tasted weird and were brown, cheap bread for the French toast, pancakes were crumbling apart and tasted like they were straight from a Bisquick box, bacon was limp. Also, super loud atmosphere. Wouldn't have even ate the food if we weren't so hungry. Yuck. I would not come back here again.
google avatar

Avetik K.

Yelp
Food was amazing. My family and I tried for the first time and were totally impressed. Having 3 very picky kids and all three enjoying their breakfast, well a lot can be said. Service staff very friendly and kind. Ambiance was very relaxed

Fernando P.

Yelp
I met my friend here before the studio session. She told me they had good mimosas and food. I definitely will be coming back here.
google avatar

Oscar S.

Yelp
This my second time here. While the food is great, the service is lacking. Do not sit at the bar, you will be ignored. We waited about 20 minutes to he helped while everyone else was being waited on. It's ok not to help out us immediately when busy but Atleast acknowledge new customers at your tables/bar especially when we have to seat ourselves. The ambiance was super chill this time around, the servers need to be a bit more attentive. They possibly think a bigger party equals a bigger tip.

Jax G.

Yelp
Wow! What a gem of a restaurant to have in the neighborhood. Fantastic food, reasonably priced, and stellar service. This is definitely my new breakfast spot.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Service was about the only thing fine about this place until they auto tipped themselves for doing absolutely nothing, ordered the toast, one slice of toast cut in half for $12??? Absolutely insane im disgusted with this place!! Oh and when we got there apparently they never got our order..never coming here again. EDIT! THERE WAS A SMALL TINY LITTLE STICK IN MY FOOD?!! IN MY HASHBROWNS!! SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN EDIT 2!!! TOAST WAS FIRE!!!
google avatar

Karie F.

Yelp
Ugggh! If you like a musty feel and smell this is the hipster hangout spot for you! Musty, loud and to top it off, rude cashier. We stopped in for an iced latte after shopping at House of Intuition. First and last time coming here. Upon walking in, the funk and heat just hit your face. So stuffy, musty and loud music. I could barely hear the cashier to order. Didn't help that he was so rude and what seemed uninterested if you weren't a regular hipster who hung out here. I ordered a caramel latte with oatmilk. Medium which was the size of a small. Couldn't even taste a hint of anything except coffee and cream. I asked if I could add some cinnamon and the rude cashier literally handed me a McCormick spice container of cinnamon. WOW! I would never suggest this place and won't ever come back.

Phillip G.

Yelp
Bread had mold on it. Server has no knowledge of menu and isn't helpful. Wouldn't recommend this spot for bfast. Food is basic and comes out looking basic. Nothing special.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Loved the strawberry lemonade mimosa! The service was wonderful & the ambiance was nice with a good selection of music. I would definitely come back !

Kris A.

Yelp
The food is great kool atmosphere and service is super friendly. I keep bringing my homies and my lady. Thanks guys. God bless

Yelp
First time here, was recommended by somebody to go. Unfortunately this was not the best experience. Ordered a coffee before anything didn't receive it until the check came. Ordered a pancake breakfast combo. The pancakes at first glance looked delicious until I cut into them. I noticed they cut like if it was not cooked right. Sure enough the outside was hard and inside was dry. Even drenched with maple syrup it didn't help. I was told don't go hungry because they are slow. Sure enough it was slow. The young man did look like he was trying but just not the most experienced I think. The abc burger ordered by my partner was good. All in all won't be going again anytime in the near future.
google avatar

Easton T.

Yelp
I have been to City Kitchen quite a few times and every time the service is great. The food has hit the spot every time, mainly the garlic fries which are amazing. And the ambiance is very friendly and casual which is helpful if you are trying to get some work done.
google avatar

Ian Z.

Yelp
Beware of hidden service fee!! Is it considered a tip? Maybe. Maybe not. 18% is hefty to not be mentioned on any signs, menus or servers. Then the receipt asks you to tip again. Food was just okay. Certainly not worth the pricey tag. I've been to hostels with furniture that's seen better days. This was the only cafe in NoHo arts district that wasn't packed this morning. I can see why now.

Jasmin S.

Yelp
Great Service ! Amazing fresh food ! Vibes are exquisite!!! I have been coming here since pre pandemic and let me just say this place has stood the test of time and has only gotten better !!! Amazing staff and the neighborhood is remotely in the middle of the city.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin, so let me start here.....Sunday Funday started here for brunch.....We were all so hungry that we couldn't decide what to get. We wanted a little bit of this, and a little bit of that Alex was our server and he was GREAT, very patient with our questions while trying to order our food. Lots of tables and room. Space for a big party as well as for 2! Music in the background was nice. Not to loud, just loud enuff to catch your ear. So, we all got something and shared it between us. In an effort to keep this short, cuz Lord knows I can go on and on.... Denver omelet with hashbrowns & English muffin- Omelet was VERY TASTY! Hashbrowns, meh. They are this super thin odd layer of potatoes. English muffin could've been toasted more too. I ate every ounce of my food so hashbrowns couldn't have been THAT bad ! Blueberry pancake - IS SOOOOOO DAMN GOOD, it'll make you slap ya momma! The way the blueberries gave a warm burst of sweetness when you put a piece of pancake in your mouth! THERE ARE NO WORDS! French toast topped with Nutella, fruit, and powdered sugar - AND ANOTHA ONE! SOOOOO DAMN GOOD! Morning wrap - my friend said it was delicious! Presentation of this dish was SPOT ON. Simple with the wrap as the main attraction. Goat cheese & spinach omelet - my other friend said was delicious! NONE of us had any complaints about our meals! NOW LETS GET INTO THESE MIMOSAS !! 4 flavors - orange, peach, guava, and apple. By the glass, by the bottle OR...... wait for IT.........BOTTOMLESS! They give you 2hrs to drink all the bottomless mimosas you can handle for 25.95 a person. We each got one of each except the orange cuz well, we already miss what that tastes like Peach and guava were FANTASTIC! Apple just tasted like a spiked apple cider. Two of us got glasses ( we aren't big drinkers) the other two got bottles. I believe the bottle is something like $18 a person, but they bring you THE WHOLE BOTTLE of champagne !!! What you can't finish, the recork it, put in a brown bag, and put your juice in a to go cup! Perfect for the next stop....BIKINI FUN AT THE POOL!! This place is a MUST! Stop by order the blueberry pancakes and peach mimosa! You WILL NOT be disappointed! Provecho/Bon Appétit

Yelp
City Kitchen has been one of my neighborhood favorites since I moved to the area. The service is great. I absolutely love coming to a place where the people who work there remember you. The space has so many options for seating, so you don't have to wait long. Everything I have ordered here I have like. I especially love their pancakes. And of course the crowd favorite is being able to buy a bottle of champagne. I cannot recommend it enough. You won't have trouble finding parking
google avatar

Clarissa H.

Yelp
Food was really good! Had the eggs Benedict with bottomless mimosas.... They are not stingy with the mimosas so be prepared lol I tried my friends pesto pasta which was also delicious and the portion size was huuuge. My friend and I hung out here for about 5 hours due to the bottomless and service. Oh and we came during the week.
google avatar

Tracey T.

Yelp
The food was okay. We just had the some appetizers and an iced coffee. The iced coffee was delicious, but sadly not enough to bring us back. I noticed a dead cockroach in the bathroom. The Manager I told was less than impressed. We haven't been back since.
google avatar

Cistain A.

Yelp
Such an amazing vibe. My bartender Gelp is irreplaceable. We come here just for his smile and service. Thank you guys
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice personal, a beautiful place, food is delicious, happy hour sangria 2 for 1 just $8! Highly recommended.
google avatar

Milton V.

Yelp
Warning to ALL First time here and beyond disappointed not only was my food over priced, but coffee.. sucked I could have gone to Starbucks and got my money's worth... my server pretty much boxed our food to go when we wanted to dine in.. and coffee remade and still bland yet charged.. so don't tip they auto charge u a service fee... I'm always checking out the local breakfast spots.. but highly recommend YOU DONT go here.... I feel any positive review is and their over charge is too keep the lights on .. can't wait for them to close and stealing from real customers
google avatar

Talmadge M.

Yelp
I am thoroughly pleased and impressed with the breakfast experience had at this restaurant. The service is top notch and the serving sizes are appropriate. I had a good time.

Caroline A.

Yelp
It's always great food and a good time at City Kitchen!! This is one of me and my friends favorite spots to catch up because of the delicious food and mimosas, and the servers are ALWAYS on point - huge shoutout to Gleb and Anastasia!! They always take the best care of us!! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Cool artwork on the inside with chill vibes, has potential but unfortunately misses the mark in some key ways. I came here for a Sunday brunch around noon, we seated ourselves right away and there seemed to be ample seating and it did not seem terribly busy. Dog friendly on the inside (yay!) with some tables outdoors as well. Ordered a Denver omelette and a French toast combo. ...and about an hour later our food arrived (it was hot at least!). Not sure if it was an off day, someone called out sick from the kitchen or what.... The food itself was OK but nothing to write home (or Yelp) about. My favorite was the French toast, nice crispy texture on the outside and chewy on the inside without being overly sweet. Omelette was seasoned well, the eggs for the omelette were a little more cooked (definitely had a little bit of browning) than I would typically like. Now the positives- one of the servers here had noticed our dog with us and offered us a different table with more space... he also apologized for the wait time on the food and offered a refund. Thanks dude! I wouldn't have known about the included 18% gratuity if not for fellow Yelp reviewers, it IS on the check it's just not made obvious- some more obvious disclaimers for patrons would go a long way. Again, may have been an off day, had we not had to wait so long for a few simple orders I think my opinions may change, or maybe I just needed to order the bottomless mimosas!!
google avatar

Sandra T.

Yelp
I love the Food and the ambiance, but mostly the amazing service and quality of hospitality from the owner and her employees is outstanding. I love the bottomless mimosas served all day. I recommend this place for a healthy meal and a boost of amazing energy!
google avatar

Dana W.

Yelp
The only thing good here to me now is the bottomless mimosas. On many occasions I've tried different food items here and the only thing I've actually liked was the hash browns. Which even now has recently declined. Then to learn they have a B rating, scored 84 on the last inspection is a red flag. I hope they get it together. I enjoyed this place many times. I still love the ambiance here. The music is A1 and the service is always kind. I just really hope they can get the food/cleanliness in order.

Yelp
Amazing food. Great price. My top choice for brunch. Would come here again. It's a special place.
