Yelp
I've stopped in a couple of times this year for a bit of holiday shopping. It's a much smaller store than I expected (it's a bit cramped), but they have a fantastic selection of Fontanini, Department 56, Radko, Old World Christmas, Enesco and other popular holiday brands. Their selection really can't be beat. This, of course, means that this is a more high end retailer.
I don't love that you have to request someone to go up to the warehouse to retrieve most items. It slows down the shopping process (it took more than 10 minutes to bring down one item for me), especially if you don't have time to browse, but I can understand it with the space issues and wanting to minimize five finger discount opportunists. But I'd love to see an updated setup that allows for stock being kept on the store floor, perhaps in locked storage under the display. I could have a field day space planning this place.
While most employees are pleasant and helpful, on my most recent visit there were a couple of young ladies behind the register who didn't seem to like being bothered to have to stop their inappropriate, personal conversations to ring up a customer. No worries... they didn't stop that conversation the entire time I was being rung up (my cashier didn't look at me once). One of them spouted of an attitude ridden, "WHAT," when a gentleman walked up to ask a question. Listen, I worked at a huge Christmas store on the East Coast for ten years, year round. I know retail can be grueling - especially at a Christmas store during the holidays - but don't project your attitude on paying customers, please.
Despite the less than ideal point of purchase interaction, I don't think it would keep me from going back when I'm in search of something I know they'll have. Besides, there's beer across the street.
