Fora, a new Mexican restaurant inside Fulton Market’s Emily Hotel, is now open | Eater Chicago

"Previously the lobby space was home to City Mouse, the restaurant developed by James Beard Award nominee Jason Vincent; it closed in October 2020 due to the pandemic, and chefs now describe the new Fora experience as a total departure — “Mars vs. Pluto,” in chef Billy Caruso’s words." - Brenda Storch

Ace Hotel Chicago to Close in Late January After $63 Million Sale | Eater Chicago

"Having vacated the Ace space in early October 2020 due to pandemic challenges, City Mouse was the prior tenant whose gas station sandwich later reappeared on the Lobby’s menu." - Ashok Selvam

Alinea to Take Over Ace Hotel Chicago’s Restaurant Space in Fulton Market | Eater Chicago

"I noted that the all-day restaurant City Mouse offered a casual menu featuring items like its gas station sandwich—a thick hash brown medallion between English muffins splattered with grape jelly—and had a sidewalk patio with fire pits that supported safer outdoor dining; it opened with the Ace Hotel in August 2017, had Pat Sheerin as executive chef (Sheerin came from Trencherman), and will close on Sunday, October 18, with management blaming the pandemic-driven drop in daytime patrons for its demise." - Ashok Selvam

N.Y.-Based Resy Increases Chicago Restaurant Reservation Footprint With Reserve Acquisition | Eater Chicago

"A restaurant inside the Ace Hotel in Fulton Market that was among those victimized by a rogue OpenTable employee who made fake reservations; it debuted on Resy when it opened in 2017 but is currently listed on OpenTable because the Ace Hotel standardized all of its U.S. restaurants on that system, making this location a rare example of a Chicago restaurant appearing on Resy, Reserve, and OpenTable." - Ashok Selvam

A Place by Damao Explores Bold New Flavors and More Reviews | Eater Chicago

"In the West Loop, City Mouse reads like one of the best newcomers: I started with the whiskey-based Dead Work cocktail, a “supreme sipper for winter” that “warms from the inside out.” The Country Mouse appetizer — a ball of fried cheddar topped with caviar — “evokes the same feeling as wrapping yourself in a blanket hot out of the dryer.” The lemony Brussels sprouts are cited as the “star of the small plates,” the housemade lasagna is “tall, rich and handsome” and “destined to become your new favorite carb,” and individual-sized apple pies come with a biscuit-like crust, juicy hunks of apple, apple-caramel ice cream, and candied cinnamon almonds on the side." - Jeffy Mai

Google
I’m not sure how I initially found this store, but I’m glad I did! Living in Kansas, my experience is only based on their online store which has been very positive. Everything I’ve gotten is high quality and timeless, ordering is very easy, and they are super responsive and helpful when I have a question (ie. sizing). We started buying clothing from here when my 5 year old daughter was ~12 mos old and now I love seeing these same sweet outfits on her little sister.

Nice shop, neat & well displayed. Friendly staff, met a Madison who helped me find my daughters Christmas dress plus more! She was my own fashionista! She was kind & very helpful. Clothing is beautiful & unique, great quality & true to size. Will definitely be shopping again & telling all my other mother friends!

I love, love, love City Mouse! The quality of all of the items I have bought is excellent. The price is very reasonable. Everything is so much cuter in person. The customer service is great. The order comes wrapped so special. Thank you City Mouse. The great grand and parents are quite pleased. 🌆 🐭 😊

I was really disappointed in the lack of customer experience. I went in with the intent of purchasing the PNW romper and porpoise trains romper for a baby shower but was completely ignored by the associate who couldn’t for two seconds greet me while she assisted another. Stayed for 8 minutes thinking she would at least acknowledge me but to no avail. Clothes are cute but I’ll take my business elsewhere.

The clothing options here are some of the best in town. Unfortunately, their hours are hit or miss. For the third time now I arrive 10 min before closing time to find the doors locked. I understand it can be annoying when customers come in right before closing, but your hours say you're open until 5 or 6 depending on the day. I suggest changing the hours of operation to reflect actually hours of operation, or if you lock the doors early and see customers standing outside during your listed hours maybe let them in to buy what they came for? Just a thought.

Google
While they have a nice stock of upper-quality clothes, they have horrible customer service. When I was in store, which has been twice, the shop assistant never greeted or asked if she could help. This was the same for other customers. This was despite the fact that she was just sitting behind her desk not doing anything. Very unfriendly and useless. When I asked her about sizing of a particular item she gave an inconclusive, snooty answer and didn't even offer to check availability in the back until I explicitly spelled it out for her. Won't be going there again.

Cutest little store with the friendliest staff. Love all their apparel. The PNW collection is my favorite.

Went there yesterday with my niece and had a wonderful time. Easy to find exactly what we wanted and the shop assistants were sublime. Definitely recommending this place to everyone I know!

Yelp
UPDATED REVIEW: The owner of the shop personally reached out to me and let me know that the employee was problematic with all the customers and has been fired. I don't think it's fair to give one star for one bad employee, so I'm updating to three stars (for now). The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, but I appreciate the owner taking the time to write and explain the situation. I'll definitely give City Mouse another go in the near future, especially since the holiday season's coming up. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Cute shop, deplorable customer service. My parents aren't native English speakers, so they have an accent, but no one has any problem understanding them. The young, blonde employee treated both my parents like they were basically idiots. My mom needed help, so she called out, "Excuse me" several times, and not once did the employee pop her head up to offer help. When my parents went up to pay, she acted like she couldn't understand them and basically treated them like trash. I'm always down to support local shops, so I've spent a pretty penny at City Mouse over the past few years. I can confidently state that I won't ever shop there ever again. There are plenty of other children's boutiques within/around West Seattle that I can support instead.

Yelp
This store is so cute and the service is extremely personable and friendly! There are a variety of toys out for kids to play with. The prices are high, but that is to be expected from a boutique store. The service and experience merit the price. There is also a small consignment area to the left of the register with very nice, reasonably priced- items that look brand new. We got some Tea clothes gifted to us from City Mouse and the quality is excellent and they clothes are so darn cute!

Yelp
Bought the cutest baby outfit in the store!!! Customer service was excellent as I was not sure what to get for a baby shower...seize, color (if you don't know the gender). The sales person was very helpful, polite and knowledgeable pointing me into the right direction. Love their Northwest Brand. Great to have a kids clothing store like this in West Seattle!!! Would recommend this store to anybody looking for absolutely adorable kids clothing.

Yelp
We walked in around 5:30pm, 30 minutes before closing yesterday. The gal behind the counter said hello and acknowledged us from behind her computer. The stuff in the store is very cute and fun. I give the store a 5 but I give service a 1. The gal never asked us if we needed any help even though we were looking around and rummaging through sizes for a good 20 minutes. She was busy typing on her computer. She rang us up. I asked for a box and she gave me one. The transaction was fine but there was no friendliness just short answers. I hope that she was just tired that day and ready to close up shop.

Yelp
Fabulous local children's shop! Have shopped at City Mouse Studio often and have always found quality clothes for my girls and unique gifts for their friends. Lots of great brands, but definitely one of the largest selections of Tea Collection clothing I have seen in one place. And her photos!!! Love the portraits. Definitely get on the mailing list to find out about mini sessions and holiday shoots. Such a great little shop, lovely owner, and excellent customer service.

Yelp
I love this store! They have the cutest stuff! The staff are so helpful and I love the gift wrapping! The only problem is I wish I had ore money to spend there!

Yelp
This store not only sells my favorite baby and children's brands like Tea, See Kai Run, Winter Water Factory & Aden + Anais, but the staff is super helpful and accommodating! I really appreciate how warm and welcoming they are. I can always find something I need and many things I want!

Yelp
WORST STORE EVER!!! Do not go here. Service is awful. Sure the clothes are cute, and the toys are fun and unique, but after my experience here, I will not be stopping back in anytime soon. I was being helped by a tall woman in her mid to late 40's with an Australian accent. I walked in the store and was not greeted by her. While I was shopping she was sitting behind the counter constantly texting on her phone. When I went to go purchase my items, she gave me complete attitudes If I'm spending $300 in your store I expect good customer service. Overall, I would NOT recommend shopping here to anyone.
