UPDATED REVIEW: The owner of the shop personally reached out to me and let me know that the employee was problematic with all the customers and has been fired. I don't think it's fair to give one star for one bad employee, so I'm updating to three stars (for now). The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, but I appreciate the owner taking the time to write and explain the situation.
I'll definitely give City Mouse another go in the near future, especially since the holiday season's coming up.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Cute shop, deplorable customer service. My parents aren't native English speakers, so they have an accent, but no one has any problem understanding them. The young, blonde employee treated both my parents like they were basically idiots. My mom needed help, so she called out, "Excuse me" several times, and not once did the employee pop her head up to offer help. When my parents went up to pay, she acted like she couldn't understand them and basically treated them like trash.
I'm always down to support local shops, so I've spent a pretty penny at City Mouse over the past few years. I can confidently state that I won't ever shop there ever again. There are plenty of other children's boutiques within/around West Seattle that I can support instead.
