5 new bars and restaurants to try on your next trip to Sydney - SilverKris

"A loud, fun pizza joint tucked into Central Station that grew out of a beloved Sunday pop-up; it offers both whole pizzas and pizza-by-the-slice so commuters can grab a quick slice or linger with a bottle of natural wine. The menu is intentionally simple — five round pies, four squares plus a special — with crowd-pleasers like a spicy pepperoni with house-made ranch and a roast butternut with miso-mato cream and red shiso, while square pies feature toppings such as mapo tofu–style mince, Thai sausage, or San Daniele prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella and balsamic reduction. The vibe nods to its pop-up roots, complete with rare-tune soundtracks and monthly DJ parties." - Pilar Mitchell

Highly recommended. I took my friend here for his birthday, I did an online booking and mentioned it was his birthday. Several staff through the night referenced his birthday. Which I loved. With some other places you book online and it asks if it’s an occasion and you select it, yet when you at the venue there is no mention or acknowledgment of the occasion, so super impressed so many staff members took note of the birthday and acknowledged it. The service was amazing, all the staff were happy and friendly, happy to answer as many questions as you had. The vibe was awesome. The food - delicious- we had a square pizza and were able to have half n half. So so so good and tasty, I was tempted to get some of the take away slices, but cause we were heading out I didn’t want to be carrying them around. Will definitely be back :-)

This spot is truly a hidden gem in Sydney Central. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first since I’m used to traditional Italian pizzas and had never tried American-style pizza before. The square pizza reminded me of pizza al taglio, so I decided to give it a shot, since it’s something I rarely find in Sydney, and I couldn’t have made a better choice. I ordered a half and half: Diavola Bianca on one side and their week special on the other. Both flavours were unreal. The Detroit-style base was puffy, full of flavor, and had the perfect crust. Every bite was pure pleasure. The mix of toppings was unique and absolutely delicious. Our server, Alex, is a legend. He was confident, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the menu that I genuinely thought he might be the owner. He guided us through the options with great detail and even checked in after we finished, which made the experience even better. The value was excellent too. My wife and I shared one pizza and were more than full. Thank you guys, we’ll definitely be back. 10/10!

Highly recommended! Went to City Oltra with some friends and had an amazing time! The vibe was really cool and welcoming, perfect for a casual hangout. Service was excellent, super friendly and attentive staff. We ordered a half-and-half pizza (Rancho Relaxo and Salami) and it was delicious — seriously great pizza! Also tried the fish fingers, which were surprisingly good.. we’ll definitely be coming back again!

Great vibe and pizza. It's just outside the central station scalator, near the Haymarket light rail station. They sell pizza by the slice. I got the potato and sausage one and loved it. It reminded me of the deep dish pizza style, super crunchy. They have other styles such as thin crust and a generous alcohol menu and nice background music.

The best pizza in Sydney. Impeccable pizzas both classic margherita as well as their more creative offerings. Lovely service and cool atmosphere too.

Visited this establishment blind over the weekend after noticing how busy the place was despite its modest size. Staff are really cool and friendly, and the food is excellent. The garlic bread w/ anchovies stood out to me. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended

Absolutely immaculate experience! The pizza was insane, crispy parmesan crusted squares were totally fire. The diavolo and the rancho relaxo with hot honey and ranch was bomb!. Also had the lasagne fritti which was great!. The staff were very nice and accomidating from the get go and the vibes are very chill and drinks flowing. It was so good I got a slice of everything they had ready at the counter to take home. DON'T SLEEP! Go asap. So good!

First up, the vibe is what you feel first. I work at Central and for someone to look at this usually vacant strip of sketchy shops and think 'Let’s open a cool pizza joint' and pull it off is impressive. It’s got this warm, cosy feel that makes you want to hang around. The pizza is just as good as their shop in Marrickville, $8 a slice for high quality pizza is a no brainer and don't skip the deep fried lasagne bites, definitely a must.
