City Papery

Highly recommend! Really great print work, I brought in custom envelopes that they matched the font of the return addresses and printed mailing addresses right on the front for me. David was such a help, I emailed him Sunday night and came in Monday and they were done within 40 minutes. I will be back!

We had a truly fantastic 11/10 experience with City Papery. My fiance and I had a large wedding suite to print (invitations with multiple inserts, dinner menus, drink menus, ceremony pamplets, etc) and everything was done to perfection. The designs we had were done with watercolor and the final results made it look like each individual print was hand done. The complexity of our entire job cannot be understated, but City Papery handled it with expertise. Pouya and David specifically helped us and were absolutely wonderful. They allowed us to sit there with them to review test prints, make design changes to the files, and test print again. Pouya specifically was wonderful to work with. He was easy going, had expert knowledge, and was very patient with us throughout the entire process. I'd recommend to anybody who needs professional quality printing of any kind.

Had a great experience today when I was in a bind with RSVP envelopes for a large wedding. They had the envelopes in stock and could do the job same day. Everyone was so helpful and thorough!

I’ve been a customer at this store from it’s very opening. It’s amazing to see how much it’s grown and the amazing variety of products they sell. Everything from gorgeous wrapping paper and beautiful envelopes to art supplies and fabrics. You can find anything. Very clean, very organized. Not to mention the staff is amazing, extremely kind, and always willing to help. Shoutout to Arman! And if you ever need a print job done, this is the place to go. Invitations, calendars, catalogues, stickers; they have it all, and on gorgeous stationary. Best family business out there!

Arman was great. We had a quick turnaround on wedding invitations and he made the process super simple. A nice touch to remembering our names when we picked up.

Came here for an engagement 💍 card, and they had quite a few to choose from under $7. Odds and ends specialty gift wrap birthday candles and gifts. This store is nice to browse through.

City Papery has saved my life many, many times over the last 2 years. Their printing team is the most hardworking and effective. Big shoutout to Pouya for the beautiful place cards he did for me today! 6 stars :)

Best printer in the city! I printed a pretty complicated project using different techniques and paper types and everything turned out exactly as hoped. The staff was extremely thorough and responsive, thank you so much!

Kam from the printing department was entirely unprofessional in his handling of my save the date printing. I signed a quote with Kam for my save the dates to be printed on Solar White paper. He provided me a sample I liked and requested he moved to production. One day later, he emailed me that he had printed this sample on Arturo White, rather than the Solar White I had paid for. I agreed to come in to see a re-print on the Solar White paper. As I did not like the second sample (re-print), I requested to upgrade to the paper used in the first sample, which he had told me was Arturo White -- I've since learned it was actually Solar White (what I had originally paid for) and requested be moved to purchase upon seeing it. When I picked up my save the dates, they were printed on the paper used in the second sample, which I had specifically indicated I did not like. Everyone makes mistakes -- this wouldn't have been an issue had things been handled well. But nope... I was shocked by the unprofessional level of service that followed. What merely could have been an agreement to right the mistake that I have written proof occurred, Kam argued with me about which paper he claims I liked. It was frustrating to have my preferences / intelligence questioned in that way -- I have the original sample (the one I liked) on my fridge and the other (the one I didn't like which lacked texture and dulled the colors of the artwork) hidden a drawer. Additionally, I took the original sample home to show my parents and in laws last weekend, so I definitely know which I like lol. Further, Kam fought with me about the events that played out despite the fact that his emails don't at all support his version. He refused to provide any resolution, so my mom is currently out hundreds of dollars with no save the dates to show for them. Kam indicated I should contact his manager, but provided no phone number or email for him. Upon contacting the store, I was told the manager doesn't keep specific hours, making it virtually impossible for me to get in touch with this person. I'm upset that I'm having to write this review, but frankly I'm not sure how else to drive some resolution. I would have liked for things to have played out differently. The issue is not how a mistake was made, but rather how it was handled.

A huge variety of stationery goods and gifts. But just a bit too overwhelming for me. Lots of space but nothing really unique that I wanted. I hadn't seen Mrs Grossman stickers for a long time so I did partake on some of these.

Do not go here!! Absolutely terrible service, employees got upset whenever asked about paper supplies (which is the whole point of their business??) Also printing services turn out horrible, streaky prints with wrong coloring and horrible cropping, they clearly don't care about their quality of work. Also employees in the print department are extremely argumentative and rude. Such horrible service and mediocre products.

I've never experienced worse customer service than here. Rosa, who I'm assuming to be the manager or at least someone with say in the store always has such a nasty attitude and is not helpful at all. They have a ridiculous return policy. The printing department is okay most of the time, mainly depends on who helps you. Also make sure to get a quote or else you will spend a ridiculous amount of money to print. I hate having to come to this store as they do have some nice products but I always have a negative experience every time I step foot into this place. Please save your time and look for other stores.

Long overdue thanks to Pouya who patiently worked with me on printing invitations, offering helpful design suggestions. Superb customer service. They also have a great inventory - loved browsing and found some great gifts.

Very overpriced, specific return policy, prices not marked or sometimes not corrrct. I can appreciate maybe it's local, but I wouldn't get wrapping stuff here unless my budget was unlimited.

Cannot believe how dependable these guys are. They came through with a giant last minute custom box order the same week as Christmas and were SO kind and helpful through the entire process. They managed to complete the entire order BEAUTIFULLY and ridiculously fast. I really can't say enough kind things about Shaghayegh and Jamshid. They are true gems.

Nothing interesting and inventory seems to be bits and bobs of random stuff from places. I found a couple of things from Indigo Canada at the store. Back section is a bit messy. Looks kind of like a dollar store paper shop now.

Just left the store with my custom blank card order! They did not have what I needed on the shelf but were able to cut and fold the cards within an hour.

Had some of the hardest paper to find and was nice enough to let me try it. Love this place - customer for life.

Ehhh. This place is very inconsistent with their print jobs. I've been here a total of 3 times and after that 3rd time, I've definitely decided that I will never go back. Here were my experiences: First visit: It was my very first time there so, naturally, I was confused about how things worked. The guy who was helping me seemed a little impatient so I tried to hurry it up, email the PDF file that I needed printed and hand him my papers to print them on. I had a sample of the PDF file we had already printed from them before, same paper and file, and when I compared them, the frames that I needed a beige/peachy color was WAY pinker on the newly printed ones. I asked if he could re-print for me being as how it didn't even look like the file that I sent him, but all he said was "there's no way to get it the same exact color because all the machines have different settings". I asked if I were to give the CMYK percentages if that would help, but he still said that won't matter. I was sort of puzzled but I accepted the answer because I don't know much about printing soo, I had no other choice but to take his word for it. Second visit: I decided to give this place another go because I needed the same paper to print on so I went back to purchase. I still needed to print out just 5 sheets of the same PDF file for my boss so why not just do it all in one place. This time I asked for 1 sheet to be printed first to test it out, same thing happened it was pinker. It was a different guy that I had than last time, and much more helpful might I add, so I asked him if there was any way to match it to the one I already have and without hesitating, he pushed a few buttons, re-printed and voila, this time it matched perfectly. This experience was much more pleasant than the last so I felt better about coming back in the future. Didn't happen that way though. Third visit: Different guy from the previous two, saaaame thing happened with first. Files didn't come out the right color, asked if he could match but he just flat out said "no". No explanation or anything. So I asked if he could tell me why. Said "machine settings get changed everyday so we can't." Then I asked him if he could try at least and he did so very reluctantly, as if providing decent service was such a daunting task. Didn't come out right but it came out much better than the first. I was very annoyed by the end but I just accepted it. I really wish I got the name of the second guy to see if he was in to help me out, but after that third visit, I don't know if it would have been any different that time around to be honest. Such poor customer service in the printing job area. If you need your document colors to look exactly like the way you need them to, save yourself the time and just avoid this place. 1 star given for the one guy who actually helped me out, another star because their store is big and they do have a great selection of paper types.

Great staff and selection of products! recently came in for a printing job. Loved the outcome, definitely going to do my Christmas cards here.

Came in to buy journal/ notebook for work. Found the staff was very cordial and helpful. While we were there we happen upon cute birthday supplies, decorative candles for my daughters upcoming party.

The best stationary store in New York City ! Walk-ins make you feel like you're apart of their committee , And when you're hungry you can always stop by City Bakery , Then come on back to City Papery ! :)

This is the only paper supply store in the city that carries the exact weight and style of 11x17 paper I'm looking for. In fact, they have a ton of different sizes, colors, and weights that you can buy in bulk or per sheet. When I stopped by this morning, a young woman named Lucy working behind the paper and envelope counter was especially kind, cool, and helpful. She is definitely a great model of customer service -- certainly an example to aspire to if City Papery wants to turn some of these more negative Yelp reviews around.

I went to the store to buy some birthday cards and found out not only they have a large selection of cards, they also have all the supplies my small office needs. The guy at the printing department was very also helpful and courteous and I ended up ordering our business cards with them. This is the store I trust for all of my office' supply and printing needs.
