We love City Perch, we’ve been here many times including both dinner and brunch, and are always satisfied with their food, service, and vibe. They have a small menu but everything we’ve tried so far tastes pretty good. Attaching some food from brunch menu.

This restaurant has a wonderful ambiance—quiet and elegant—making it perfect for business dinners or quality gatherings with family and close friends. The service was average. The night we visited, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet the wait times were surprisingly long, both for getting seated and for our food to arrive after ordering. The food, however, was quite good. The grilled salmon was very fresh and tender, and the crab cakes were flavorful with a crab taste, unlike at many other places where they tend to be overly salty. The short rib was delicious and cooked to perfection. The truffle fries were just okay. As for parking, there's a garage behind the restaurant with free parking for up to two hours.

Sitting a top floor of a North Bethesda Pike and Rose building, City perch has been delivering great food and drinks for the last 8 or 8 years. This is a very special place with a cozy but elegant vibe. Thank you for those Luxardo cherries in my Manhattan, Marcus. Great to come and have cocktails and happy hour bites. Then watch a movie at the IPIC theater connected yo the restaurant/bar. I have been many times, and 5hecsetvice is always friendly.

The food was delicious, I left no crumbs on my plate. Service was amazing. There are two parking garage near and it’s wheel chairs friendly

For Pike & Rose, this is one of the surprisingly better places, even if it's situated as an adjunct to the movie theater. All the food we tried was pretty good, and the service was friendly and attentive. Decor is nice, fairly polished. We started with some buffalo wings and they were a bit off, too gamey. I'd pass on those. The seafood Cobb salad was great, generous amounts of crab, lobster along with the staples of bacon and egg in a Cobb. The lobster mac and cheese was very good, too. It's hard to go wrong when adding lobster to mac and cheese. The cocktails were fairly creative and well made, pretty balanced and tasty. Pleasantly surprised. Worth a try for sure.

Food was delicious, and the dessert, oh wow, it was soooo good. I actually felt like I went into another dimension when I tasted it.

Yum, yum! The cocktails were fantastic. Specifically the perch birdy. Service was fantastic, quick. Can’t wait to go again!

Nice place next to a movie theater . The outside area with the balcony and street view is cozy with the city feel. Service was great. Nice twist on a calamari dish with artichoke and Fresno pepper.

Yelp
12.16.24 Located in Pike and Rose, my boss took my colleagues and I out for our holiday lunch. I had reserved the wine room several months back. Our reservation was for noon on a Monday. I was surprised to see how unbusy it was for lunchtime. We ordered some apps, including the lobster arrancini, truffle fries, and brussels sprouts. Each of them were very tasty however, I would have wanted them to be hotter. They were just room temperature. For my entrée, I got the chicken spring roll bowl. I was expecting actual rolls, but it was just the bowl with chicken thigh, noodle, carrots, cabbage and candied pecans. I was so full from the apps that I mostly just ate the chicken and half of the veggies. I left behind a lot of the noodles. Overall, the food was pretty good, however, considering they weren't very busy I was surprised that the service was slower than I would've expected. The restaurant is located in the same building upstairs with the IPIC theater. A garage is right there as well. Parking can be validated at the host stand.

Yelp
In town for a conference and City Perch was located close by. We were a party of 7 without reservation. But we were immediately seated in one of their cool wine rooms. The menu has lots of interesting things for dinner. I ended up getting two apps instead of dinner. I opted for the lobster arancini and the braised duck poutine. Everyone ordered something different. I loved the lobster arancini. Big giant chunks of lobster! Then it was on to the poutine. I generally love poutine (how could a southern girl not like gravy!). I was excited to try this dish with braised duck. Sadly, I could only eat about 4 bites as the gravy had way too much salt for my taste. Colleague said the crab cakes were "just ok". But everyone else seemed to really enjoy their orders. I was most impressed with the service. Our server was friendly, helpful and just plain nice. He took good of our big party and made it an enjoyable evening.

Yelp
4 stars for the ambiance, service, and drinks. Unfortunately 2 stars for the food. Which results in 3 stars. Friends and I visited for Sunday brunch with our 3 kids, and the place was spacious, pretty slow / not crowded, and VERY family friendly and accommodating. Dining with LOs is not easy and they were so so nice and welcoming, especially for how pretty the place is. We specifically picked City Perch because we knew the place is big, and usually pretty quiet... which means we'll be less of a bother to other patrons. GREAT CHOICE. Our server was nice, quick, and attentive. I ordered an Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc for just 12$, which is an incredible price especially for a pretty place like this. A big disappointment, unfortunately, was the food. We ordered calamari, short rib hash, and french toast. To be fair, the french toast was yummy. Calamari and Short rib hash, however, were BLAND. I had two calamari, 3 bites of hash (even with ketchup). I genuinely wonder if the chef forgot to add salt for both dishes today. I usually hate salty food (typically eat salad with almost no dressing, eat relatively healthy, so it's definitely not related to my taste-buds being used to salty food or anything like that). We overall had a good time because again, the vibe, service & drinks were great. Plus, we had ketchup - so that helped; in hindsight, I should have just asked for salt. Chefs are human, they make mistakes, so perhaps it was an off-day. I would be willing to give City Perch another try. If you are looking for a calm, quiet, beautiful spot in Pike & Rose to enjoy a drink or two (most other restaurants are PACKED and LOUD), I would recommend City Perch. If you are looking for a spot with BOMB food, this place might not be for you.

Yelp
Such an amazing dinner experience. We celebrated my sister's birthday today so decided to do City Perch. Miriam was our server and she was impeccable! We sat in the small private dining room, which allowed for us to have a more intimate vibe. I had the French Onion soup and the Perch burger. Honestly I was craving a burger and it was exactly what I wanted. I also had a glass of sparkling Rosé and we brought our own cake for the celebration. Overall, it was such a nice experience and I look forward to going back.

Yelp
This is a great little downtown bar and grill type place close to hotels. Service was very good, drinks kept pouring and the food was all cooked and seasoned to perfect. They have a great varied menu that worked with our diverse crowd. Try it out!

Jeneane B.

Yelp
Tried this place for brunch for the first time today. We had heard a lot about it, especially the brunch. I got the brunch burger, which they cooked to a perfect mid-rare and a nice runny fried egg. The home fries were also nice and crispy with fresh scallions. Hubby had the shoirt rib hash, which was overall good but had a large piece of fat/gristle. The mimosas were well made - not overly OJ'd! Our server cane by frequently to check on us, so we always had a fun glass!

Kwame S.

Yelp
I have to say that I really loved the vibe/atmosphere of City Perch. It's like a combination of a bar (as its name would suggest) a restaurant, and a lounge (with the small sofas distributed around the place). We stopped by for a follow up to happy hour that was held in the area, and we were pleased with our food, adult beverages, and service. For our dining pleasure, we went with a flatbread pizza, mussels, and duck poutine. *The latter is something that I've never had. Well . . . I've never had poutine with duck, but it works.* As one might tell, we enjoyed everything . . . especially the duck poutine. For the area, I thought the prices of our entrees, which were huge portions, and cocktails were pretty standard. Actually, because of the amount of food in a serving, the prices might have been better than other spots nearby. While the food and beverages were great, I was really impressed by the racial and ethnic diversity of the restaurant's clientele . All in all, City Perch Kitchen + Bar has been added to my Bethesda go-to list.

Isabella H.

Yelp
We went here for Mother's Day and were able to still score reservations a couple days before the big day! Went in and were seated without issues, drinks were topped off regularly, food was hot and fresh and flavorful, and my dad's cocktail was delicious! We had some modifications to our meals and they were all followed perfectly! Would definitely come again.

Mimi W.

Yelp
Located in Pike & Rose next to the movie theatre. You can park at the attached garage for 2 hours free. I've been here a few times, mostly for happy hours. Even with a large group at a table, I was able to open a tab at the bar and grab some food and drink specials with no issues, service was great. Can't comment too much on the food, but everything looked good. The drinks were good and had a decent amount on happy hour.

Angel P.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for ladies' night ($3 cocktails on Tuesdays). Ladies' night is at the bar and lounge. Happy hour is Mon-Fri from 4-6pm. We ordered the Norma Jeane, Margarita, Cosmo and Brussels sprouts. All the drinks were good. We ordered the Brussels sprouts at the same time as the person next to us but they got their food first. We had to ask about our food and it came out 10 min later. Brussels sprouts were good, but weren't really crispy. When I asked to sit at the lounge, the hostess got confused and thought I meant the waiting area/seating right before the bar where they can't serve you. I ended up sitting at the bar because of this. There are parking garages and street parking, with a parking garage connected where you can the elevator into the building. The parking garage allows two free hours, but you can validate your ticket with the front host for a total of three free hours. I would come here again for their ladies' night deals. Overall, I would rate it a 3.75/5, rounding it up to a 4/5.

Sola F.

Yelp
The ambiance was really nice. But the seating was a bit different. We got desserts and we sat at the bar but the food was very slow coming out. But when it came out it was good.

Amara M.

Yelp
To start, before you eat at a restaurant you have to walk in, and this place is stunning. The views from our table were beautiful and the decor was modern and classy! This was my first time since we visited from out of town... I'd give the food a 3 out of 5. I am a big fan of lobster bisque but the consistency of this soup was very similar to Apple sauce. The bread board on the other hand was SOMETHING ELSE! Such a range of flavors and a little bit of sweet and savory flavors, so it was devoured quickly. Unfortunately my salmon came out undercooked but they had no problem fixing it right away. Vibes 10/10- Food 5/10

Alexis O.

Yelp
Amazing salad! I only ordered it bc of another reviewer. I'm very picky about seafood and this was such quality seafood! Lobster, shrimp, crab, and bacon were all top notch. I have a new go-to at Pike and Rose!

Chantel T.

Yelp
We decided to stop here for an appetizer and a few drinks prior to our movie at iPic. The ambiance of the restaurant was cool but other than that? Blah. We ordered the buffalo wings and while I really liked the flavor, the wings themselves weren't good. The wings, specifically the drums, had a lot of fat and a few of them were undercooked which isn't cool. We got three drinks in total and none of them tasted like alcoholic beverages. They basically tasted like pomegranate juice. Oh, and it took about 35 mins for us to get our first drink because the bar was "backed up." The place wasn't packed in my opinion but either way, it's a Saturday night.. what do you expect? Also, the menu was not super versatile. I didn't even see sides listed on the menu. None of this was at fault of our server which was Kayla (I believe). She was super attentive and polite. If you do go, ask for her. However, for $60 I expected fully cooked wings, drinks that didn't take an 1/2 hour and some type of slight buzz. I don't really see myself dining here in the future but I wouldn't discourage people from trying it. I'm a firm believer of you should see things for yourself and maybe you'll have a better experience.

Kady T.

Yelp
Save your money and don't come here. It's overpriced for what you get and it's not flavorful. The salad is like watered down. The only thing that tasted good was the lobster Mac and cheese. There is better places to spend your money. Source: trust me

Rosemarie T.

Yelp
They have no. Idea how to accommodate. I have been coming for years and have introduced hundreds of clients. I'm more than a little concerned and dissatisfied

Sean M.

Yelp
The food there is really good for starters. It is in the perfect location for a dinner and a movie with IPic being literally 15 feet away from the host/ess stand. However, some of the things on the menu are a bit overpriced compared to the serving size you get. That is where I deducted a star. The ambiance and service are what to expect in the Pike and Rose area. It is a very nice place to go on a beautiful spring/summer evening.

Margy C.

Yelp
I only got the seafood cobb salad. I was able to get it without the goat cheese which I do not like. I do wish they had another substitute for the cheese though. There was plenty of seafood with a lovely lemon vinaigrette. It was very filling for a salad. It's great that we can bring our drinks and food into the theatre.

Starr D.

Yelp
This is the bar and restaurant inside of iPIC . They do have good foods and drinks. Been going there for years. BUT...the service is always lack of something. If you are lucky you will get a good server, but most of the time, you do need to wait for your foods and check for awhile, hence the 4 star.

Dani R.

Yelp
The food was very mediocre, but the dessert was delicious. The service was extremely slow, but it's possible they were understaffed that day. I would recommend coming here for drinks and dessert after a movie. Skip the dinner.

Fuad M.

Yelp
Usually don't have a hard time getting a table here. They have ample seating and it's usually not too busy. The watermelon feta is highly recommended!

Xin W.

Yelp
I've been here twice now. The ambiance is very nice. We were able to get a seat without having to make a reservation and the waiters were very attentive. We order the pastry assortment. It's bread and jam what else can I say? I also got the perch egg breakfast. The food was good, very hard to mess up eggs and bread, but I'm not sure if it was worth the price.

Rae M.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dinning at City Perch Kitchen + Bar for their Sunday Brunch. It's literally connected to the iPic movie theater located at Pike Rose, so it would be a perfect place to stop at before or after a movie. The ambiance is very sleek and sexy. It was giving me all types of lounge vibes. They have a numerous amount of tables and bar seating, as well as outdoor dinning. I was kind of surprised that not many people were there this particular day, but more room for us! After eyeballing the menu, we decided to order the chicken and waffles, egg whites with cheese, and a side of the spiced brown sugar bacon. If you don't get anything...ORDER THE BACON! It's sweet, carmelized and had a slight punch of heat at the end. It was a bit hard for my liking, but it still was delicious. All of the other food was delicious as well. Service was friendly and helpful. The drinks were pretty good, but honestly the ambiance and food really led me to my 5 star review. Parking is directly next door in a garage and it can be validated for up to 3 hours or so. Limited street parking is also available. We're absolutely coming back because it was such an enjoyable meal! Don't forget, ORDER THE BACON!

Shelly J.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for drinks or brunch on the Pike. The ambiance is everything. Close to a parking garage, free after 2 hours, but don't quote me. I did have the chance to celebrate a few birthdays here. Staff are friendly and always keep the drinks pouring in. Food is delicious. As far as drinks I'll definitely recommend, Norma Jean. They have tasty apps, my favorite are oysters. They always have HH specials so that's always a plus. So I'll definitely frequent more, now that I get off early enough for HH specials.

Elena M.

Yelp
City Perch is local restaurant that I've come to adore and frequent regularly. While I typically shy away from leaving reviews, I felt compelled to share my positive experiences here. Every Mother's Day, I treat my mom to a special outing at City Perch, and it never disappoints. The ambiance, especially in the room adorned with wine bottles, sets the perfect backdrop for our cherished tradition. We've amassed years of precious Mother's Day dinner photos in that very spot, capturing memories that I will cherish for years to come. The staff at City Perch consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. They're not only friendly and patient but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, always offering fantastic recommendations. Despite recent negative reviews about the service, I can confidently say that in all the years I've been a patron, I've never encountered anything less than exceptional hospitality. With nearly every server having attended to us at some point during our monthly visits, the consistency in service speaks volumes. For anyone hesitant about trying City Perch, I recommend giving it a chance. From the delicious food to the impeccable service, every aspect of this restaurant is wonderful. As long as you're not attempting to break any laws or skip out on the bill (as noted as attempted in a previous review LOL), your experience here will be nothing short of delightful. I highly recommend the brussels sprouts and the scallop risotto, Enjoy!

Yelp
Due to traffic, we were running behind for the reservation. Thankfully, they were understanding and accommodating when the reserved time needed rescheduling. When we arrived, the parking was convenient; the first two hours are free. We parked on the second level and took the elevator to the third floor. As we exited the elevator, the restaurant was to the right. In addition to the restaurant, there is also a movie theater on the same level to the left. Shortly after we reached the host's podium, we were the second guests to be seated. Since the hostess had stepped away to escort the preceding guests to their table, another staff member came over to assist. As he was about to lead us to our table, the hostess returned and escorted us instead. There were a number of available seating options, both in and outdoors. Since the sun was setting and the temperature had reduced to a more comfortable level, we dined outside. The outdoor seating was a nice change, as it afforded great views of the area, which included high-rise apartment buildings, some retail shops and other restaurants. Not long after we were seated, the waiter came over to take our drink orders. We decided on Evian water, which was served quickly. The waiter was personable and very engaging, as he established rapport with us before continuing with our appetizer and entree orders. For the appetizer, we decided on mussels. The mussels were just okay. The presentation was picture-perfect complete with fresh tomatoes, sliced artichoke and ample broth. From the initial bite, I kept trying to identify specific flavors but it was a little difficult. It could have been butter and white wine but there was another element that could not be pinpointed. It might have been cilantro, however, I am not sure. Whatever the flavor, it was somewhat distracting from the overall dish. On a better note, the mussels were tender and easily pulled away from the shell. I ordered shrimp diablo for the entree. It was not necessarily highly recommended but in comparison to the other options; this one resonated more closely with me. Not too long after the appetizer arrived, the entrees were served. The entree's presentation was pleasing but the flavor was just okay. The penne pasta was cooked al dente and did not have much flavor. Even with the tomato-based sauce and fresh tomatoes, the pasta did not blend into the dish. And then there were the shrimp. The shrimp were a good size and the first bite was spicy and appropriately seasoned. With that said, the second shrimp was wayyyyy too salty almost to the point of being unpalatable. I ate two additional bites of pasta to balance out the saltiness of the shrimp and requested a take home box. Though I was not overly excited about the meal, the ambiance was good, as was the waiter, who was both friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Another plus was that the outside seating provided pleasant views and an opportunity for people watching. Overall, it was a pleasurable dining experience. Update: Interestingly enough, I ate the shrimp diablo the next day and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not sure what was going on with the second shrimp that I ate at the restaurant but on the second day, the dish was good. By this point, the sauce had an opportunity to incorporate into the penne and other parts of the dish. which made it more flavorful.

Yelp
First off the service was great, our waiter was fantastic and constantly checked up on us. But my boyfriend was served raw chicken in his ceaser salad. As well as I got food poisoning from either the Steak Frites or Flatbread. The restaurant has a very nice setting and is beautiful, but the food does not complement that, it takes away from it.

Evan M.

Yelp
I had such a great time at City Perch. Parking is rough in the area but I got lucky on the street. I met a date for a first date here. Easy reservation, they help you out so well. The waiter knew it was a first date and was helping us out making it a very fun experience . I went on Sunday night when it was super empty which I liked. We were seated near one larger group and I was worried it would be loud from the large group but it was not at all. Great level of lighting. Great cocktail menu and recommendations from the staff. We had the Brussels sprouts (100/10), steak, shrimp pasta. It's very good surf and turf. Nicer place and not the cheapest but it's worth it to splurge. People were wearing shorts, tennis shoes, hats and I wore a T shirt so the attire is casual despite the ambiance which I appreciated. I'll totally go again soon.

Rachel R.

Yelp
We went for drinks last night and sat at the bar. Our bartenders were awesome. They checked on us frequently and made great recommendations. We had cheesecake (delicious) and a couple drinks. The drinks were well mixed and nicely decorated. The interior is very cozy but cool which was a nice change from the humidity outside. Overall great place to grab drinks and dessert.

Michael K.

Yelp
Had brunch here on Saturday with two companions. The decor is pleasant enough, and the server was great. He got our order 100% correct without writing it down, served our drinks and food promptly, refilled coffee without being asked, and was friendly and efficient throughout the meal. Food and beverages prices are not cheap, but what is these days? I had Eggs Benedict, which is one of their most popular brunch dishes. It was prepared well, and I enjoyed it. Another in my party had a Belgian waffle, and was satisfied. The third had a grilled shrimp salad, but I reduce the rating for one of my pet peeves. How can a chef in an upscale restaurant not know how to cook a hard-boiled egg? You gently simmer the egg, then shock it in an ice water bath until cooled, which pulls the sulfer dioxide generated in the egg out through the shell by osmosis. If you don't do this, the black ring of death forms between the yolk and the white. This spoils the taste and delicate texture, as well as the appearance of the egg, and indicates a measure of ineptitude in the kitchen. Management, read this review and learn something.

Linda V.

Yelp
Thought for some reason this placed also catered to the movie theater right next to it given some similarities in what they had to offer and what the movie theater had on their menu. The service was slow and non attentive, asked for specialty in drinks but was told it's up to us usually bartenders don't mind whipping up something with the choice of the alcohol preference from the customer. The food was trash and had absolutely no flavor no wow factor just a complete disappointment. My two stars are for the drink where it was strong enough to forget how awful the food was and the ambiance was ok. The wings tasted like they just dropped them in the fryer and took em out then poured flavorless garlic Parmesan sauce on top. The burrata we had we had only been given two thin slices of bread that obviously wouldn't be enough for the amount of tomato and peppers and the whole burrata they had on the plate ratio was off flavor wasn't even all that. Wouldn't come back here before a movie would choose something else within pike rose

Monique H.

Yelp
Let's just say I expected better... My kids and I dined here before our movie at iPic. This was their first time at this restaurant and iPic. Just trying to level up their viewing experience. My youngest ordered fries which you can't go wrong fries. He was safe. My daughter ordered a bacon burger which came with fries. And I wish I had ordered one. Cause it was quite tasty My oldest ordered bbq wings... the wings weren't even lukewarm when they arrived to the table and sauceless . He sent them back. Second round came out and it tasted like they were nuked. They were warm and chewy with sauce on them. I ordered Brussel sprouts.. and they weren't burnt beyond taste. Like I know they saw they were burnt yet they still brought them out like why.. sent the dish back. The second dish was a little less burnt you could see you were eating Brussel sprouts but the burnt taste was still there. Service was ok considering the crowd Let's just say first and last time dining here.

Yelp
Will neveerrrrrrrr be returning here. Came here to celebrate a bridal shower on 4/19/24and was beyond disappointed with the service we received. Our waitress was named Maria and while it wasn't her first day it seemed like there was a lot of policies she wasn't aware of or properly trained on. For starters, upon arrival the moment we sat down we asked whether we could order drinks at the bar since all our party hadn't arrived and we wanted to simplify things once the final check came and we were told sure. We were also asked if we wanted to split the check by each individual person and asked if that was possible. Our waitress said yes that was in fact an option and we let her know that was preferred. To our surprise couple guests walked over to bar and immediately as a bartender walked over to take their orders her peer tapped her and pointed over to where the rest of us were sitting. They were then told by the bartender " they told me that you cant order here and have to order at your table but I don't know why". We then asked our waitress about being turned away and she stated that "they" were telling her we couldn't order at the bar since we sat down, so we instead waited for the rest of our party and ordered at the table. After that Maria left our table and took some time to come back. When it came time to order drinks we were met with another singular issue regarding ID. We were then told someone at our table could not order a cocktail because of it being vertical and not because it was expired. This was new to us because we don't live in the area and where we are visiting from has no issues as long as it is valid and can be verified. Maria offered to ask her manager if she is allowed to take it and when she came she let us know that even though it is valid and they compared the ID they still wouldn't be accepting it. Rather than combating the issue we asked why and continued to order our drinks and food. At this time Maria had left again and this time for even longer before and we could sense that she no longer wanted to provide us with the same service that she was providing her other tables. Once the food started arriving another guest expressed that she could not eat her food due to an allergy by this time it was later so we were aware of the kitchen closing. Rather than providing alternatives available or asking, the waitress came back with 2 options set them on the table and said "the kitchen said you can have this and walked off", with nothing else explained. Fine we will accept it LOL. Once it was time to close out we were then told that the manager informed our waitress that she could not in-fact split the checks individually but take multiple cards and instead we had to evenly split our checks( the total by the amount of people). We as a group expressed to her that if she could take multiple cards then we would only like to pay for the things that we individually got but she said we can't and from there expressed we would like a manager. Before walking away Maria was asked if perhaps she was new because there had been a lot of confusion during our dinner. Maria said no she was not new after we expressed our concern with the lack of knowledge we were returned with us being the reason why she didn't provide us with anything more than great service and that we were basically asking for too much. With all that being said and giving her the benefit of the doubt, we asked to speak with management. The manager Katie came over and while expressing what had been explained to her versus what had actually happened, while she didn't seem the slightest bit of concerned or surprised by our expressions of concern, disappointment, and frustration, she listened and helped to honor what we were misled about. Katie let us know that she would be willing to split our tab individually, but we politely declined since we already made the decision to pay with one card. Overall we will not be coming back! The food was mediocre and Maria was not a great representation of the type of service your establishment should offer. I wouldn't come back here for poor service, food not tasting great, and poor service we received from our waitress. My overall recommendation is to make sure if something is a policy ESPECIALLY FOR LARGE PARTIES it is stated at time of reservation, there is a contract drawn up, or the policies and procedures are agreed on all staff for the night.

Yelp
MEDIOCRE AT BEST!! There really is nothing special to say about this restaurant or the food and we can't see any reason to return. The setting, itself, is quite nice, but that doesn't make up for the inferior food and needing to ask countless servers multiple times to bring us what we had asked for multiple times before. I am also put off by the response of the restaurant to negative reviews justifying their menu changes often (it definitely does not) and "hopefully you will come back and give us another try." Why on earth would someone who had a negative dining experience come back to spending their hard-earned money a second time when it was insulting to spend their hard-earned money the first time?! Get a clue, management!

Yelp
This is a very cool concept in Pike and Rose. I stopped in last night for dinner before the Bad Boys for Life Movie. Ironically, OpenTable said there was no dinner spots but when we walked up, the reservation was empty at 8pm. Our server was nice. I told her I wanted a strong yet fruity drink. She suggested the Norma Jean which was delicious. For dinner, I had the pan seared scallops and that was also delicious. I would highly suggest eating here before a movie so you don't have to rush into movie. The menu isn't too extensive but it has everything from chicken, seafood, and ribs lol. The bar is sexy. The entrance is sexy. It's perfect for a date night. I'll be back! I'll be back.

Yelp
I took my mom here for a birthday brunch and I really wished I read the reviews before taking her here. Let's start off with the service. There are two main sections of this restaurant and I think the logical way to split up two waiters would be to give each of them a section. On this particular day, each waiter had half of each of the sections and was walking back and forth between the sections. We had to wait a good 10 minutes to get water and to order. The service was inefficient and made the dining experience horrible. Let's talk about the food...... GOUDA & EGG SCRAMBLE: Normally a menu would list out most of the ingredients, but I shortly found out that City Perch does not. I order the Gouda,Corn and Egg Scramble, anticipating that it would have those 3 ingredients. Three ingredients that I greatly enjoy eating. I was really surprised when I saw that it came with red peppers and onions on it. Normally this was fine, BUT these are two vegetables that I HATE eating. Not to be dramatic, but I've tried them multiple times throughout my 24 years of living and my taste buds refuse to enjoy them. I took one bite and all I could taste was the onions and red peppers and I almost gagged. I'm not being dramatic, this is how much I don't like these two ingredients. I never want to be that person and send food back, but I had to or else I had no food to eat. The waiter was nice about it and brought me a new plate without red peppers and onions. The scramble lacked any gouda flavor (and I didn't see any stringy cheese in the eggs), so I basically paid $15 for scrambled eggs and a sprinkle of corn. Oh it also came with roasted potatoes and two pieces bread, so I guess I didn't just pay $15 for the eggs. However, the potatoes were not cooked all the way there. Some of the pieces were still hard and it also lacked flavor. POTATOE LATKE: The shape of this dish intrigued me. However it was just crunchy pieces of burnt potatoes. There was not much flavor and the two sauces it came with did not add much to the potatoes. I think one of the sauces was apple sauce and the other was sour cream with 3 pieces of green onions. CHICKEN & WAFFLES: The chicken was dry and the waffles were meh. ________________________________________________________ Welp, I hope their dinner food is better.

Yelp
Evoking a DC Metro station plucked from some alternate universe, the escalator and stairs flanked by candle lined walls would be more apt for a posh luxury hotel than an entrance for both a movie theater and a sports bar. And both are more upscale than your average theater or sports bar. But we're not here to talk about movie theaters. We're here to talk about a particular sports bar. The whole branzino. Presented whole with a citrus gremolata sauce and fennel salad, it made for a pretty presentation. Although the charring was a bit heavy for my preference, it didn't make the fish unpalatable. In fact, the lemon and garlic sauce was delicious - probably due to my affinity for both of those flavors. I was confused by the fennel salad as it felt like a second thought or a background actor. It neither heightened nor detracted from the star of the dish. Replacing it with a better supporter of or maybe a foil to the citrus gremolata or the naturally slightly sweet branzino would have made the dish much more cohesive. If I feel like eating branzino in the future (which may be soon), I may just have to give the branzino another chance to be the perfect dish I hope it can become.

Yelp
BRUNCH REVIEW~~~ Mixed review food. Very big, nice clean restaurant. Nice staff, eh service. Food pic worthy ish.. Came here with friends for brunch on a Sunday, bc everywhere else was packed!! The restaurant is really big, plenty of seating. But was fairly empty considering the time of day and location in pike and rose. We were seated immediately so that's a plus~ Noms are of mixed review. They have classic brunch staples like eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, other interesting items like quiche and short rib. Everything looks good. But tastes not super special. -- Bread basket: NOT complimentary!!! But is worth. The cornbread is really really REALLY good. Wow... tbh would just order that part. Other pastries are still good!!! Will feed a group of 5-6! -- Sweet Corn Smoked Gouda Scrambled Eggs: bro... I really enjoyed t -- Slow poached egg and short rib: was super excited to try this but was really disappointed. The short rib was okay.. but small amount. Dish was mostly the polenta, which didn't taste like anything. Kale was sour. Egg is good I guess?? Do not recommend. -- Steak and eggs: Ordered medium rare and it came out medium well which is okayyy I guess. They forgot the eggs until I reminded them and also gave the wrong bread. Overall wasnt bad tho. -- Eggs Benedict: Nothing super special. Got with salmon too and good but not amazingly different than other restaurants. Came with asparagus lmao My friends got mimosas ($8 and $4 each refill). They were good but pricey like all brunch places. Overall food was okay. I really liked the bread basket and the scrambled eggs.. and that's about it. Would not go out of my way to get brunch here again, but is an okay spot for last minute plans.

Yelp
My wife and I had the chance to visit and eat at this wonderful restaurant. We both had Clam Chowder and Mussels, and for my dinner meal I had the Pork Tenderloin w/ mustard cream sauce & the wife had Lobster Mac & Cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned according to my specifications. Our bartender and server Marcus was attentive to all our needs. We were visiting our daughter and son-in-law so whenever back in the area we will definitely return for a meal or two.

Yelp
My coworkers and I went here for a happy hour this week! The weather was beautiful so we sat on their outdoor patio. Their Happy Hour runs from 4pm-7pm Monday-Friday and featured a wide variety of food and drink options. I like that they had a good bit of vegetarian options because sometimes restaurant's happy hour menus only have like one fully vegetarian option. To drink I got a Norma Jean, which is their lemon-berry vodka with strawberry lemonade. It was much sweeter than I was expecting it to be but it was delicious! Nice and refreshing. They also have their IPIC drink options which allows you to choose a drink and mix it up with different liquors. For food I got the cheesy fries which came in a bigger portion than I was expecting, so I was pleasantly surprised! It was doused in a cheese sauce and has fresh jalapeños on top, but not enough that it's unbearably spicy (honestly I could gave gone for a bit more of the spice!) Overall our experience was great, but our group did agree that our server didn't really check in on us often so we went quite a while without seeing him and being able to place drink orders.

Yelp
This restaurant located right next to Ipic. Very convenient to grab a bite to eat before heading over to the movie theater. We were told it's own by the same company. Really enjoy our salads here. Will be back next time in the area.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday at noon for brunch with 2 friends. We made reservations a few days in advance but probably needn't have bothered; the place wasn't very busy when we were there, despite it being pretty prime time brunch rush hour. I'd parked in the parking garage that was attached to the restaurant and the theater; it was super convenient to take the elevator up to the 3rd floor, which was where the City Perch main entrance was located. The restaurant has a pretty neat ambiance. Since the weather was so beautiful that day, the outdoor/balcony seating looked very attractive and was mostly filled up by the time we arrived. But the indoor seating was pretty nice too, since all the natural light still flooded in from the balcony area, and it was a bit like eating half inside and half outside. The servers were friendly and pretty good with the water service, although this might have been because my friends were a bit pushy about water at the beginning, joking that they get dehydrated really easily. The server mentioned the bread plate (the muffin of the day was coconut), but it sounded like a lot and we had our hearts set on the latke fry appetizer already. This was probably the highlight of the meal for me; the latkes were served piping hot and were so crispy and delicious with the sour cream (no one at the table really touched the accompanying apple sauce). The appetizer is probably sufficient for 4 people to share; we wound up taking 2 of them home because we were stuffed. For mains, my friends ordered the quiche Lorraine and an omelet, while I got the braised beef short rib. One of my friends and I also got cappuccinos. The omelet was served with a choice of meat and toast; my friends ordered the bacon and wheat bread, which came in 2 slices. My short rib was great, very tender and flavorful, and the braised kale was really delicious too. I didn't care for the polenta and left 99% of it untouched. I haven't had much polenta before so I suspect this is a problem with my not liking polenta, rather than something wrong with the way it was prepared. I think the short rib dish could do with being served with a bit of bread too. My friends really enjoyed their egg dishes but wound up taking about half the quiche home, as they got pretty full. I think the portions were fairly generous, but the bill still seemed rather expensive. The cappuccinos in particular were a pretty shocking $6 each for nothing really special at all, and I think the fact that they weren't listed on the menu (and therefore we didn't know the price when we ordered them) made things worse. I certainly wouldn't have ordered one if I'd known it was the same price as the toast appetizer. Overall, a fairly nice brunch but perhaps not enough to justify the price. The restaurant is located in a very convenient area in Bethesda, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and cafés. The bathrooms, located just outside the main entrance, seemed well-maintained. Parking was free for the first 2 hours at least (the City Perch website says 3.5 hours so maybe if you validate you could get it extended).

Yelp
Great setting and atmosphere to enjoy a drink and dinner on a beautiful day. And that's exactly what we did. Stopped for dinner on a Sat night and were lucky to get a table sitting between the bar and the balcony. The beer menu was a little light on craft beers - but they had at least one IPA from HeavySeas ($8) which hit the spot for me. My bride ordered the Cobb Salad ($15) and said it was fine. Really colorful salad with plenty of iceberg and she said it seemed to come up short on flavor. I went with the Grilled Salmon ($25) which was well prepared. The taste of the entree seemed to be lacking something....but the combination was still worth it. Service was fine. The wait staff was pretty busy trying to keep up.

Yelp
After making reservations to attend the Mothers Day Brunch here, I thought it would be a great idea to go to "Ladies Night" happy hour to try it out. I'm glad I did! First, please be advised that the "Sip and Snack" advertisement does not really include the snacks. However they did have a few drinks available for the duration. All was well, until the bartender prepared our next round of drinks in the same glasses we drank the first round out of. He didn't even have the decency to remove my friends previously used straw from the glass! And when we questioned him about recycling the used glasses, his response was, "yea, is that ok? I can make you another one." The sarcastic reply of "oh ok, yea" was to get him away from the table. After observing him prepare drinks for all the other patrons at the bar in new glasses, it raised a question of why us?? Nonetheless, the manager was informed of this disgusting behavior and the fact that he may be drinking on the job (judging from the shot he poured and sat to the side), to which she simply replied "I'll talk to him." She did comp the 2 drinks we did have. But I doubt she really said too much to him because my friend saw her sipping wine while working as well. The brussels sprouts were good though... the best part of the whole experience. This just raises too much concern about the practices of this place when no one is looking. So I think I'll spend my Mothers Day somewhere else.

Yelp
Overall my experience was posh. I did have a couple hang ups that made my experience just a tad less than par. First, the service was sub par. Our server didn't really seem to have any interest in serving us. She did warm up but first impressions are everything to me. The food was amazing! The bread appetizer was just absolutely delicious! I couldn't believe I was actually ordering bread as an appetizer but I am so glad I did. I ended up ordering a burger with fries and I was not disappointed! I will say since the fries are thin cut they do get cold fast. The burger was a little less seasoned than I would have liked. The ambience was very chill. I liked the dim lighting and the booths. It seems like a good happy hour spot as well as a good date night spot. I will most definitely be back!

Yelp
They are closed due to Covid. My visit was back when I first moved in Bethesda 6 months ago. They have the best surf and turf. I do wish they would reopen soon I can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
A few of us wanted a quick and good lunch or brunch option in the Pike and Rose area. We first tried the establishment across City Perch but there was a twenty minute wait. So we made our way here and were seated within 4 minutes. They have a pretty good brunch option where for $20 you get an entree and a drink (+$10 to make it bottomless). I got the short rib and poached egg, with mascarpone polenta and subbed in spinach for the kale. Here is the kicker. My food was not seasoned. At all. I tried the short rib, the polenta, the spinach. There was just no seasoning... not even salt. I had to send it back and get something else. I got the steak and eggs and thankfully this time the food was seasoned. I have to say this was the first time my food was under seasoned at any place I've eaten. But because they were nice enough to get me a new plate of food I'm going with 3.5 stars. The decor was really nice and the servers were courteous and good. I hope the underseasoned food was a one time mix up.

Yelp
Ordered Braised Beef Short Ribs. The side of cheesy mashed potatoes was the best part. The ribs were delicious, but the serving was very little for the price. Service was okay.
