Where to Watch the Masters Golf Tournament in Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"City Pharmacy, located in historic downtown Covington, is really getting into the spirit of the tournament with cocktails such as the julep-like green jacket with gin and mint. There’s pimento cheese and egg salad sandwiches being served throughout the tournament, too." - Beth McKibben

Stopped in here as it is on the Resy list for Covington and it’s a cute, ambient place and artful place. The food was plated very appealingly and honestly really good and the portions were just right—satisfying without being over the top. The menu is a bit limited, but what they do offer is well-executed and they have a different special of the day that helps spice things up. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken. Overall very tasty although I do prefer my green beans on the less crunchy side and I didn’t really get the pecan flavor it felt more maple syrupy. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere was relaxed and stylish—definitely a nice place to hang out. It is on the pricey side, but if you’re looking for good food with a solid vibe, it’s worth it.

Google
We truly enjoyed our entire dining experience. The menu is limited, but the three entrees we had were all fabulous! It is busy, but not stressful. Our server was lovely and took paid enough attention to our needs without being interrupting. Look forward to returning!!

Just experienced a delightful evening at City Pharmacy! It's a southern inspired Chef driven restaurant, located in Covington, Georgia. City Pharmacy is a historic 1920s building that was a pharmacy for more than 70 years. Tonight's special was amazing - grilled swordfish, served on a bed of pork belly, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, pearl onions, yellow rice and pureed black beans, along with a side of garlic spinach. Outstanding! Appetizer was a tasty spinach artichoke dip.

My wife and I visited friends and family from traveling afar and we always enjoy visiting a new restaurant. For brunch we had Shrimp and Grits, eggs, bacon and grits, strawberries and blackberries. I enjoyed my bacon, eggs and grits, but my wife felt that the shrimp and grits was good enough without the bacon and tomatoes. It took away from the classic Shrimp and Grits. We will definitely return when visiting again and try other dishes on the menu.

The experience here was hit and miss. Though our server was decent. The hostess kept trying to cluster everyone right beside one another, and guests were asking to be seated at other tables. If it was crowded, I could understand, but it had yet to get to that point. Anyway, the Tortellini was apex, couldn't get any better, and the Brussel sprouts were very good, but the shrimp and grits were too thick and tasted too much like Rasta pasta. The shrimps were also overcooked. I had to switch meals with my date, because I had the Tortellini. I'd go back for the Tortellini. Definitely wouldn't order the shrimp and grits.

Google
This is by far my favorite restaurant to visit in Covington. It feels like the real life Covington version of the grill in Mystic Falls. Always the best service and fun atmosphere. When visiting for the first time with dietary restrictions, they went above and beyond to make sure I could still have the best meal! And love how inclusive they are with their mocktails.

Google
Have two wonder lunch/dinners. The oysters were fresh and delicious. Cocktails were perfect both times , service was prompt and friendly. First meal was a delightfully prepared swordfish, wonderful sauce. Second meal was the shrimp and grits and the flat steak. Both were perfect. Wonderful menus will be back soon.

Google
Best Bite I had during my whole trip to Covington! The burrata was absolutely delicious and I dream about it till this day!! If you’re in town definitely stop by! The service is also amazing and the restaurant has such a home like feel

Yelp
My first time at City Pharmacy and I will definitely visit again and AGAIN. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Our server was Blaze and he was beyond exceptional! We had Shrimp & grits and Country Mile, both were seasoned perfectly and hefty serving sizes. The drinks were great as well! Thankfully the bartender at Mystic was rude and unwelcoming...which led us here!

Natasha O.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner tonight at City Pharmacy! our server Mackenzie was attentive and sweet, she rocked it! my husband ordered the braised short rib which was so delicious and comforting. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was so full of flavor and scrumptious. we cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food, & drinks. All around one of the best places in Covington. A real fine dining establishment. The staff, managers, and owners are fantastic. I have had ZERO bad experiences. The most recent review from Donald has GOT to be bogus. All I can say, if you want fast food go to McDonalds. If you want a great dining experience with a culinary journey and great spirits, definitely try this restaurant!

Yelp
I had a lovely time at City Pharmacy. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in a while so we made a plan to grab cocktails. The food was delicious. I had the two Change of Plans cocktails, the Blackened Chicken Penne, and the Apple tart. My friend and I split the Maryland Hot Crab dip. She had the same cocktail, the special (steak, fried chicken, and shrimp trio - small samples of each), and the Banana Roll up. The cocktail was amazing and not too sweet. It had vodka, lemon, simple syrup, and strawberries in it. The penne was good, a bit more oily than I liked but still tasty. The apple tart was just ok. Very sweet. The crab dip was A-Mazing. I couldn't stop eating it. We had a great server who was attentive, friendly, with a great sense of humor. The restaurant itself was nice. It was reasonably busy but it didn't feel loud or chaotic like some restaurant. I like that the tables have a good amount of space between them. It doesn't feel like you're in other people's conversations. That being said, the couple next to us were really nice and we chatted with them. The bathrooms are clean. My only small complaint is the bathroom are single use and in this small nook. It can get pretty crowded/backed up if folks are waiting. I popped into the bathroom before leaving. There were two people waiting and we had to do this little awkward dance to get around each other. Oh, I had a 6 pm reservation so as soon as we arrived (around 5:50) we were promptly seated. Highly recommend. Would definitely come again next time I'm in Covington. Side note: The town square is lovely. My friend made a good observation: A lot of businesses should consider shifting their hours on Friday and Saturday to take advantage of the increased foot traffic on those days. We wrapped up dinner at 7:30 pm on a Friday and so many of the cute shops along the square were closed.

Yelp
This is a cool New American spot on the square. We ate at the bar and enjoyed shrimp, oysters, and crab dip for appetizers. The shrimp was cold and fresh. The crab dip was really good...nice and cheesy. The drinks were trendy and reasonably priced. I had my first real espresso martini and it was delish! For my meal, I opted for a salad and the potatoes au gratin. Truthfully the potatoes weren't my fave and the salad wasn't as good as it should have been for one made with apples and candied pistachios. I think it was missing a better paired cheese like goat or blue cheese (it came with Parmesan.). My partner had beef tips, which he said was good. Our family also had the meatloaf which was a hit. Overall this is on my list when I visit Covington for the drinks alone. The service was also good - a very friendly staff!

Yelp
The food was really good, but the service was even better. The staff was amazing, but especially our waiter, Blaze, he was awesome!

Yelp
So the first I went to city pharmacy I had their grilled pork chop with mash potatoes and it was amazing so I came back! This round of food really wasn't that great. I had the meatballs that were just okay. I also thought who can mess up pesto and burrata, wellllll. I wasn't impressed at all. I will say the drinks here are really good and so is the mash potatoes. My husband had the salmon and just like everything else it was just okay. It's a local spot so I will return to give it another chance since they hit it out of the park the first time we actually visited! They also have an outdoor seating area which is always lively during the summer. The inside decor is amazing and I also like the bar area.

Yelp
This place was exceptional. The food was positively phenomenal. The music mix wasn't quite what I was expecting, but overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this decision for dinner recently.

Mallori J.

Yelp
I've been to City Pharmacy a few times and I've had a great experience every time! Their menu items can be a little pricy ($20-$30), but the food is worth the price! The service is always exceptional, too.
google avatar

Mickey M.

Yelp
My gf had the Parmesan crusted chicken which she said was pretty good. I had the special tonight, a 16 oz ribeye with asparagus and crusted scalloped potatoes. The potatoes were cold, but they brought out some that were satisfactory. The ribeye is what I call bubblegum. No texture and you chew, chew and chew. I've had better ribeyes from Walmart at less than half the price. Service was decent. Restaurant appears clean and has a decent atmosphere however the music was a bit loud.

Yelp
We've visited City Pharmacy a handful of times since living in the area. The food and service are always spot on. The menu is on the smaller side but it changes a few times a year. Our most recent visit was for my birthday. We had a party of four and ordered the scallops, meatloaf and the halibut (I believe) the scallops were grilled to perfection and the meatloaf was great as well. My husband had the fish and enjoyed it too. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert and it was some of the best I've had. We save that s place for more special occasions- but it's a hit every time we go!

Yelp
Our server was great, I wish I could temper her name! Outside seating was great in the late afternoon when the temperature is just right.

Sharron B.

Yelp
Food was excellent and our server was very sweet. The charcuterie board took a bit of time to get to us. But the most unfortunate part of the experience was some male employee trying to rush us out the door before we even paid. We had a reservation and had just finished eating our meal and he was trying to tell us they had another reservation to hurry us along. That pissed me off and made me wanna sit there longer. But other than that it was good.
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
Food is absolutely amazing. Everything is so fresh and cooked to perfection! I haven't had anything I wouldn't have again.

Gayle E.

Yelp
Sunday brunch - fantastic food. Service was attentive but food took a looonnnggg time. I think they are overburdened in the kitchen when restaurant is busy - and it was very busy. But the food made up for the wait - everyone (5) ordered something different and ALL was delicious - outstanding. Menu is limited but what they do is done to perfection. Food made up for the wait.

Yelp
Tremendous. Phenomenal. Wonderful. What a delightful restaurant. My vocabulary doesn't do this spot justice. City Pharmacy would thrive in any big city in the country. To find it in a small town in Georgia is a delight. The chef is special. Every dish was tasty and perfectly prepared. Try the flounder - delicate and moist with a piccata sauce that compliments the fish well. Our resident meat eater loved the huge ribeye, but said he would order the flounder if he returned. The wine list is broad and well priced, and the happy hour specials generous ($1 oysters and $5 drinks). The room has exposed brick walls in a handsome room on a charming square. The service was helpful, friendly and attentive. Our trip to Georgia finished on a high after this meal. The only thing I don't understand is why there are any reviews under 5 stars. Eat here - full stop.

Chloe F.

Yelp
Our server was Blaze. We only got checked on a couple times while we were there for over a hour. We understood they are busy, but we didn't have any update on our food or wasn't gave more water after we ran out. I asked what I should get for a drink and he responded "no clue, just met you" I was just wanting a recommendation. It was a pretty place to eat. The servers were just not friendly, and made us feel stupid for being there. I would not recommend coming, or maybe if you do, make sure you sit inside so you can actually get taken care of.

Yelp
Been here several times and it's a classy place with great atmosphere. Food is outstanding, the new menu was excellent. Our go to place in Covington!
google avatar

Debra A.

Yelp
Food was great, place was clean. They do have an extensive list of cocktails. But since they are a very small, locally owned place, they frequently run out of the best sellers or I guess you can call them the specials of the day. I will be back I do like it.

Donald B.

Yelp
had 7:00 reservations... ordered a bottle of wine, then dinner... waited an hour and when dinner dinner arrived it was cold asked for Mgr., who said "oh we're only human"... this was unacceptable I could NEVER recommend this restaurant due to their lack of ability to deliver a proper meal and for lack of communication We left w/ a Zero bill and a great disappointment.

Yelp
Stopped in about an hour before closing on a Saturday night with a friend and got seated right away at the bar, which we preferred. Hostest and I'm assuming manager were nothing but sweet. Bartender was very helpful in answering my questions and helped me choose a great cocktail. She was also mostly patient when taking our order but it was a little obvious she was ready to leave. Understandably. The bar was packed when we arrived and the atmosphere was lively. Appreciated that they weren't pushing patrons out the door as closing time was approaching though everyone, including us, left on time. We didn't order anything to eat since we dropped by right after visiting Mystic Grill but the drinks we did have were very well made. Definitely will come back if ever in the area and will be recommending

Michael R.

Yelp
Was not impressed - cheddar biscuit with chicken was cold , hash potatoes not that good very greasy, the spring salad chicken was burnt had to send back came back out without dressing! Bourbon was good, Bloody Mary was good! This was our 1st time and I don't think we will be back! Menu kinda weird, lot of breakfast items on Saturday til 4pm
google avatar

Mollie M.

Yelp
My husband and I had reservations for 6 and we were warmly greeting and promptly seated. I was nervous about wearing jeans, as I assumed the dress was more upscale but I was happily surprised the place was a bit more casual than I was expecting. Our waiter greeted us within 5-10 of being seated. We got cocktails and ordered the burrata salad. It was well seasoned and tasted amazing! My husband opted for the hang steak, medium rare and it arrived perfectly. I chose the meatloaf with mushroom demi glacé, it was accompanied by whipped potatoes and charred carrots. It was absolutely succulent, way better than my meatloaf. I wish I could have the recipe. All in all, this is hands down the best restaurant in town.

Yelp
Had lunch with my daughter here yesterday. The food was absolutely hands-down spectacular!!! I ordered the pork chop with mashed potatoes and it was very very tasty. However, I was truly envious because my daughter ordered the trout and that was hands-down the best fish dish I've ever tasted!!! Woooowwwww- the sauce and seasonings were amazing, as well as the grilled tomatoes and okra that accompanied it. Our server was extremely attentive, and always around when we needed her. She made some fabulous suggestions which were all spot on perfect! The bar was quite full, and everyone there seem to be having a great time. The dining room was very nicely decorated and felt very welcoming. Really beautiful environment. We just walked in and didn't have to wait at all! Parking was extremely easy and free right near the restaurant within the roundabout area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this restaurant if you are in Covington. I am certain to return here when I'm in town once again!

Yelp
As good as any restaurant in Decatur. Industrial motif. Good mixed drinks and very good wines. Not inexpensive but very well prepared foods.

Asa W.

Yelp
The food was cold and I ordered chicken and it was cold and no seasoning. Also the tomato coulis sauce was so watery and has a bad flavor

Isavealifetraining C.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to stop in for a small bite yesterday and had an amazing dining experience. Service was 12/10 our server went above and beyond to deliver and exceed expectations and the ambiance wasn't too loud or busy, it was just right. I've been here many times before and I cannot give a bad review for this place. The food is always on point chefs kiss for sure. Stop in you wont regret it!

Yelp
Very disappointing after all the hype, nothing was great everything we had was average to below average. Very slow service as well

Yelp
So good!!! Get the meatloaf!! Service is nice and drinks are okay but the food is great!

Yelp
I'm so glad City Pharmacy is in my hometown. Brought my wife here for her birthday. Granted it was a Wednesday night but we were promptly seated by a friendly hostess. The drinks were awesome, I typically enjoy an old fashion but wanted to try something a little different, the Gold Rush was right on point. The Crabcake appetizer was delicious crisp outside moist center. We both had the Chefs special for main course hers a chicken dish w mushrooms and kale w a sauce delicious, mine was shrimp primavera- excellent light and seasoned perfectly. It was really cool when the owner found out it was her Birthday offered her free dessert so she asked him to choose- Tiramisu. Wow was that a perfect ending to the meal.

Yelp
City Pharmacy is the creme de la crème and the bomb dot com. From start to finish, our dinner was simply stellar. We made reservations online for an earlier evening time and we are delighted we did because it got rather busy afterward. Parking is free and ample in the town square just outside. The hosts are nice and accommodating. The vibe is genuine and business casual. There is an air of laid-back, chill elegance about the place. Echoes of yesterday when it was an actual pharmacy adorn the shelves and walls, but this is a restaurant par excellence. The fried green tomatoes are decadent, garnished generously with a sweet cheese sauce and bits it bacon. The grits are hearty, slightly cheesy, and are just the right consistency. My wife had the Brussels sprouts which are sure to cause an immediate stir of reaction and reflection at just how delicious they are. They were slightly charred and crispy. They were just right, and I love what City Pharmacy does with then. The sweet potatoes were perfectly candied and topped with little pieces of bacon and were bathed in an abundance of their own natural juices. Anybody who knows me knows I can eat a sweet potato and a bowl of grits with any meal, so I was right at home getting my appropriate dose at this pharmacy. The soup of the day was this beautiful melange of flavors in a bowl of meaty chili, perfect for the weather and season that day and second only to my Mother's, who uses my Grandmother's recipe. My entree was the Salmon. It was meaty. It was flaky. It was appropriate seasoned and not over cooked. They were not stingy with it as sone places can be. If I'm eating salmon, I want salmon I can see and not just a small bite. City Pharmacy does not disappoint. They have the audacity to serve it over a generous helping of delicious peas, which remind me of field peas dancing in their own gravy. There was no room for dessert. The prices are awesome for everything you get. Travis was our server and was knowledgeable, attentive, accommodating, and simply awesome. City Pharmacy is my fave in Covington now and on the square here, and that's saying so much because they have an amazing assortment of offerings in their town square alone. Bravo on a restaurant well done indeed. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Thankfully we had reservations as the restaurant was full! Our waitress came right over greeted us. She took our drink order. What's brunch without a few cocktails? We shared an "appetizer" of the bread pudding. It was delish! For entrees, the table was split. Two of us had the eggs Benny and two had the Sunday biscuit. The biscuit sandwich was huge! Fried chicken with pepper jelly on a homemade biscuit. Very savory and so large they couldn't finish it. Perfect combination of flavors. The egg Benedict is the most popular item on the menu and rightly so. Smoked salmon and capers combined with the hollandaise was definitely tasty. My only disappointment was my poached eggs were overcooked. Service was great and overall the meal was delicious. I would definitely come back.

Jerry M.

Yelp
Had a group of five to sit for dinner. A waitress went outside to start putting together our tables to sit. A mother and son came outside while the waitress was getting the tables together and sat down in our space. In stead, of the waitress sharing with the mother and son that she was getting this space ready for a group, she walked off and stated she is getting the manager to handle it. The manager came and the end result was creating another space for us. This was unacceptable, however, we were ok. We ordered our food and while waiting we noticed a gentleman came to the door to look at us. Five to ten minutes later, the chef, not the manager, came to state that he has gotten several complaints from the mom and son and his staff. He asked us to leave without hearing anything that we had to say. The three times that I have visited a restaurant on the Square in Covington outside of work has been a bad experience. Scoops, the bakery, Butter?, and City Pharmacy. My family has lived here over 23 years and this energy still exists. I would not recommend anyone to dine at City Pharmacy.
google avatar

Jama M.

Yelp
Limited menu. Left without even ordering. Was not impressed with the selection way overrated. I have zero desire to return to this place

Sammie C.

Yelp
had an amazing time and Blaze was the best server!! so nice and very funny, definitely recommend visiting
google avatar

Yummie M.

Yelp
Pretty place with excellent service. Welcoming and comfortable and clean. Fairly limited menu (their wine and cocktail list is far more comprehensive than their menu) but interesting. The appetizers were good and a nice size for sharing. The risotto was delicious and the greens were very fresh. The meatloaf was okay, a little over complicated for my taste and heavy on thyme, but okay. Our tab was $150 and I would definitely come again and would recommend to others.
google avatar

Jules B.

Yelp
I was visiting a friend who recommended we eat at City Pharmacy and I'm so glad she did. We each started with a glass of wine (the Riesling was great) and decided to share a few of small plates for our meal. We ordered the charcuterie, brussel sprouts, pumpkin gouda soup and a salad. Everything was wonderful, the charcuterie board had a great assortment of meats and cheese along with pickled and / or sweetened items. A bread option for the charcuterie would probably be the only thing I felt I was missing. The soup was hearty and filling and brussels were delicious as well. We were lucky to be seated right away and there are plenty of places to explore before or after you eat around the restaurant.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place so much! Love the quaint town it sits in and loved the decor inside. The showstopper was the bake potato soup! I almost ordered 2 bowls of this.. but had to save room for my meal. It was so balanced, seasoned well. Best Ive ever had! The wagu burger was also delicious! Meat was very tender! The drinks are good but subtly strong! I thoroughly enjoyed this place! It's not only aesthetically pleasing but the food is up to par as well. Will be back!

Chelsea K.

Yelp
They keep the menu changing with the seasons so you'll always find something new to love! Happy hour old fashioned and margaritas are amazing and such a great deal! The hostess was so inviting when I walked in and worked it out to get my large group of people seated on the patio. The classy vibe & sophisticated ambiance make you feel like you're in the city. My server, Ansley was the best and she did a great job of taking care of my large party on the patio!
google avatar

John And Mindy G.

Yelp
First time dining here. The only seating available was at the bar or outside. We sat outside. The view and weather were great! The peal and eat shrimp were very tasty! Great cocktail sauce! I had the salmon. The salmon itself was good but I did not prefer the peas and other things that were under the salmon. My husband had the smothered chicken with smoked grits. His was really yummy! Overall the food was good, but seemed overpriced. I would consider going again if they had some changes to their menu.
google avatar

Rop P.

Yelp
Got the jalapeño cheddar biscuit and the chicken and waffles. Also ordered the mimosa and Bloody Mary, it was my first Bloody Mary and it was just ok to me. The mimosa was tasty. They were large portions so you can definitely split one if you don't want a big meal. They were both very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Best sit-down restaurant in the area, not even kidding! Decor looks well thought out and the bartenders are on point!

Yelp
Best old fashion you can get your hands on! Happy hour is amazing $7 drinks. Try the crab cakes, pork chops, and any burger. They also have amazing French bread

Yelp
I came here with a group of 6 for brunch last Saturday, and oh man City Pharmacy blew me away! This location is in downtown Covington, which is a super cute area with plenty of parking. We got there right at 11am and were seated right away. They were able to accomodate my group of 6 and our waitress was super sweet. We all had brunch cocktails, and they checked each of our IDs. I had gin/berry drink and it was pretty good, just a little too strong for a Saturday morning. I had the jalapeno cheddar biscuit and it was so good! The cheddar biscuit was flavorful and buttery. The fried chicken on the biscuit was some of the best that I've had. The biscuit also has pimento cheese, which is super creamy. The potatoes were pretty good as well and they come with onions and bell pepper. Portions were large. I couldn't finish my meal, so I took half back with me. My boyfriend had the meatloaf, which he really enjoyed. Everyone at our table seemed to be content with their meals. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I really like the vibe of City Pharmacy. While it definitely has a hipster vibe, it still also puts off a cool retro ambiance. The menu also walks that fine line of hipster and a retro-type menu of southern staples. The service here is very good and it was a great time with great friends. The community of Covington is fortunate to have such a cool place and I wouod definitely recommend here.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so cute! Helpful staff, great service. The food was amazing. Chocolate cake was so decadent and rich, you can't help but share.

Yelp
Good place to ear. The food is great along with the drinks. The staff is wonderful. I really enjoyed this place

Yelp
Super good! Menu changes frequently but my husband and I love the food, atmosphere and service!

Yelp
I think we've been to City Pharmacy three times, maybe more. I would love to go more often than we do, but I think my husband has designated it "special occasion only" because I like to order oysters and cocktails when we go. They do an excellent job, what can I say? The most recent time we went, I ordered pork belly tacos from the small plates menus and there was plenty! I had gastric sleeve surgery last year, so I can never eat very much. For an appetizer, I was able to eat my fill and still share with my husband. We took my sister & her fiancé, who is vegetarian, and he was able to eat a vegetable plate which he loved. We've never gone and been seated outside, but I would love to go this spring and eat on sidewalk! No complaints at all for City Pharmacy!

Melissa P.

Yelp
Delicious drinks and food! Great atmosphere and service. Herbal Remedy is my favorite cocktail but they're all fabulous.
