Houston’s Best Food and Drink Events, Fall 2022 | Eater Houston

"A family-friendly holiday display built around a 350-foot Christmas tree and a Giant Gingerbread Village that includes two oversized gingerbread figures, a small neighborhood of cookie trees, a 16-foot gingerbread house, and a 12-foot windmill; visitors can enjoy free hot chocolate, face painting, holiday music by a DJ, and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus during the kickoff and through the first week of January." - Brittany Britto Garley

Gorgeous, paved, jogging trail with beautiful scenery. Several docks where you can stop to watch the ducks and turtles, adorable bridges over the water, several waterfalls, cute benches. One big loop is about 1.3 miles. They always have different displays set up, like the Christmas Village, Spring-themed decorations, ribbons across the bridges etc. It’s so beautiful!

City Place came as a pleasant surprise while we were visiting the Springs area. It was a clear afternoon day. Nice place to enjoy a beautiful scenery by the relaxing sound of the the waterfall. There is a safe walkway around a well maintained lake and plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy the view. There is plenty of space with grass carpet and tables to sit and enjoy a picnic. All For FREE! They keep holding different events round the year. We visited after the Christmas and enjoyed a beautiful Candy Land. A place enjoyed by both young and old!

This park had many walking trails with a lake. We saw a few cranes and ducks. It was an interesting place to visit. A nice combination of urban and nature.

What a park! A wonderful hidden park off the highway, we never expected to have such a beautiful park to walk drink coffee at, and let the kids run and play!

What a peaceful and tranquil spot to hang out along the lake and waterfall. Nice green space with plenty of room to walk the dogs. We pick up after our pups and the grounds seemed well kept, so I assume others did so as well. I did notice trash/glass bottles here and there. Shame for people leaving their litter, and the there don't seem to be someone responsible for picking stuff up. The same glass bottle sat there for three days on the water feature.

This is one of my favorite gems on the northside of Houston. It's basically the northside version of City Center. You can dine, shop, take a leisurely stroll, or simply sit and relax. There's occasional live entertainment and activities. You'll definitely want to go right about now.

Beautiful and large green space with a lot of walking trails and waterways. Fun spring events and movie night.

So much to see, always new creative events almost everyday or almost every weekend. Very cleaned and sophisticated plaza, a lot to do around. Christmas time really is phenomenal and refreshing at a very entertaining level ! Really good for kids and family time ❤️

Yelp
Why do I feel like I claim ownership over this place?? Maybe because I've been coming here since it was called springwood's village a couple of years ago-- or whenever it started--I don't even remember at this point because everything after the Coronavirus has been a blur. They constantly have fun things lined up in their Event Calendar online they've had so many different types of cartoon characters come out, my kids love Spider-Man, and I loved when Tinkerbell came out to make a visit. They do a great Gingerbread display during the holidays that you can walk to, with a train ride that I haven't gone to yet this great but I'm planning on it. They do different things like movie night outside and have popcorn set ups, and different types of farmer markets . I absolutely love coming here with my family. I'm so happy we have a place like this in Spring!

Yelp
Formally known as Springwoods Village, City Place Plaza has become one of the more prominent parts of Spring. Lots of money and development has been poured into this area, to where it's now a destination for retail, events, food, commercial, and residential options. Initial impressions would suggest that it's not that big for Texas standards, but it's really spanning 60 acres of mixed-use development. There are views of new buildings, walkways, lots of parking, and a view of a (man made) lake. It's really a great place to enjoy just about anything and is well maintained throughout. Food wise, it's a mix of local and national chains. Think MOD Pizza, CAVA, Chick Fil A, Chipotle, Jinya Ramen, Beard Papa for the national side, but options like Torchy's Tacos, Tarka Indian Kitchen, and Common Bond. There are niche options like Island Grill, Sushi Rebel, or Zoe's Kitchen I appreciate the fact there's always something going on here. It's a mix of family fun and adult only events, and a solid programming variety to appeal to everyone. I think indulging in some of the food options from City Place to sitting in one of the lawn chairs at the lake makes for a relaxing time. I feel like places like this can only exist outside of the loop. Down in the city where there's potholes, no sidewalks, and beat up buildings; it's super refreshing to be in a place like City Place where it can at least give an impression for the kind of development potential we're seeing across the board.

Yelp
Picturesque & well maintained plaza. Dog friendly, with a nice variety of options to grab a bite to eat. Love stopping for brunch on of the patio cafes (or on a picnic table by the lake) and going for a stroll with our babiez.
