City Tap Gastropub and Beer Bar Opens in Midtown, Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"After throwing an epic grand opening party on Super Bowl Sunday, complete with several NFL legends in attendance, City Tap pub and craft beer bar is now open to the public on Peachtree Street in Midtown. City Tap carries over 60 beers on draft, including several German lagers and Belgian ales, as well as local beers from breweries like Monday Night Brewing, Orpheus Brewing, Wild Heaven Beer, and New Realm Brewing. The 10,000-square-foot-restaurant housed in the former Gordon Biersch includes a ground floor dining room, lounge, and bar, mezzanine seating on the second level, and two patios — a brick, Peachtree-facing patio with a fire pit and a covered patio on the side of the building with windows opening to the double-sided bar. In addition to the wood-fired pizzas and standard pub fare, City Tap’s menu features baked oysters, four preparations of mussels, a rabbit pot pie made with braised rabbit and bacon baked in a puff pastry, and jump lump crab cakes. The restaurant also offers a daily dinner special, Monday through Saturday, like chicken and waffles on Tuesday, suckling pig on Wednesday, and a Thursday night lobster pot pie. Atlanta is the Philadephia-based gastropub’s seventh location, joining City Taps in Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Nashville." - Beth McKibben

City Tap Opening Soon in the Old Gordon Biersch on Peachtree Street, Midtown, Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"Philadelphia-based gastropub and craft beer bar City Tap opens in the former Gordon Biersch space on Peachtree Street in Midtown early next year. This is the pub’s seventh outpost, joining locations in Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Nashville. City Tap offers over 60 beers on draft, including several German lagers and Belgian ales, as well as local beers from breweries like Monday Night Brewing, Orpheus Brewing, Wild Heaven Beer, and New Realm Brewing. Beers are meant to pair with the pub’s food, which ranges from hot wings to fancy, wood-fired pizzas from the pub’s brick oven. The 10,000-square-foot, two-story restaurant seats just over 100 people in the ground floor dining room, along with mezzanine seating and a bar upstairs, a brick patio out front with a fire pit, and a covered patio on the side of the building, complete with a double-side bar which opens to the dining room. City Tap-Atlanta will serve lunch, dinner, and brunch on weekends." - Beth McKibben

We were excited to try this place out since they just opened. This is exactly what we need here in midtown. A casual place with great food and big selection of draft beer (48 beers!). The corn dip was awesome as well as the pizza. Service was awesome too. Try them out but make a reservation, they get very busy on weekends.

We came for a friends birthday. There were 8 of us and we were seated fairly quickly. The place inside is generic and plain sports bar/pub. I ordered the Goat pizza ($13) and it was very good. A bit on the sweet side, but delicious non the less. The burger and fries were perfectly cooked as well. You would not be disappointed by either. We did come for our friends bday and they brought out a complimentary lava cake but the inside was still cold inside. They saw that and ordered another one from the kitchen but this one was only slightly better. No lava just semi-soft chocolate. The cake was good overall. It was free so we didn’t mind. If you’re looking for a place to chill with some friends, this is a solid place for that and if you want to watch some sports, then you’re in for a treat.

Seemed like a great place to eat and watch the football game with other patrons however, I was somewhat disappointed in the food portions, drink sizes and service. Our waitress, Britney was simply amazing and provided exceptional service. When our drinks and food was delivered my entire party was disappointed with the portion sizes as well the attitude of Nija (Nigh-Ja). When I brought the discrepancy to her attention she became very rude and snappy. However when we told Britney about our complaint she apologized and corrected it immediately. Great place and location to visit. Just watch out for the portion sizes and a snappy waitress.

I like the way this place is newly renovated and spacious. I got the sports bar vibe with a surprising twist of elegance. The food was pricey and the service was just ok. Great place for a group meeting and privacy from the music. There was a DJ onsite providing a variety of songs to keep you entertained. The salads are great as far as portions, you would need a to go box. There's parking in the rear, parking deck style at no charge.

Been there three times now and every time the food and service have been great. We also hosted a team event on the second floor with about 80 people and it was a great space. The people there are easy to work with and our event was amazing.

Service was okay but the non-beer drinks were terrible. Sangria was the worst I've had in Atlanta. The appatizers were okay - the pretzels and cheese were delicious, the corn dip was just corn, little cheese. Go to Escorpión nearby which has a better vibe, equal or better quality food and great drinks. Not worth the high cost at all.

The food and drinks at this location are so good! If you are a taco lover like me, go on Wednesdays and sit at the bar. The staff was very engaging. The atmosphere was relaxing.

Great addition to Atlanta! They have done a great job renovating the old space! The service was great, and the food was delicious. The fried chicken sandwich with truffle honey and brie was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Also -- get the hushpuppies!!! YUM. Also - great space upstairs for private events.
