Our team had an awesome experience this week at City Tap House! We rented out your space for our team of ~30 and had a great meal (everyone loved the pizzas) and appetizers, along with your beer wall - was a hit! Your service was wonderful and our interactions with you all were engaging and kind, THANK YOU! We'll definitely be back again

This was a great place! Food delicious, great choices for beers and full bar, could just grab a little sample or the whole cup! Loved the self service for beers! The staff was great, friendly & helpful! Would recommend to others & would come back! Take a little drive & see what the small towns have to offer!

Completed a 3700 mi road trip - 8 states. Stopped at City Taphouse in Nebraska City, NE…. #1 FAV! Great GF pizza choices (hard to find)…good beer and cocktail selection…good prices. Obvious pride of ownership.

Fantastic food and beer selection! We decided to go for Lunch, and ended up coming back for Supper it was so good!

My husband and I went last weekend for date night. Never been before, loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Staff we're very friendly and helpful. I loved the self serve your own beer/cider, and they have a great selection, you can even take a bottle away with you. I made my own concoction up, you have to try, Devil's gap jalapeno raspberry ale mixed with match+maker mint chocolate stout, it was delish! The pizza was one of the best I've tasted, the base and crust very light and not heavy. They had great selections that are not your typical toppings which were fun to try. We had the jalapeno popper and cream cheese BBQ. We will be back for definite! 💜

The most amazing pizza crust I have ever tasted. Super tasty cheese blend as well. They have unique flavors of pizza and well as build your own. We didn't try the beer tasting but it looked popular and a very modern design. I love the interior lights as well. They have window seating as well if you want to sit in the window.

Ken, Christie and the staff deliver a top-shelf experience!! Always friendly and great menu choices, especially the pizza! Ken is an expert in his bartender craft for sure, so knowledgeable in every facet of beer, spirits and everything behind the bar!

This place drew our attention with its “pour your own” beer wall. It’s got a great small town, old bar feel. My husband and I were welcomed in like neighbors, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered pizza and pretzel bites. The BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA, which surprised me with cream cheese as a topping, was amazing and so was my specialty cocktail, the PEACHSICLE. Definitely will return when we are back in town!

The beer wall was a lot of fun and very fairly priced! Love you could pour half glasses and my wife had a n excellent gin and tonic! The gluten free pizza crust was phenomenal. Thin and crispy and the garlic cheesy bread was even better!!! Service was incredibly attentive!!

What a surprise. Indeed the beer wall is fun and fairly priced. You come for that. 16 or so taps, yes! Let me emphasize:the pizza is really good. And I mean really. Thin, crunchy. Not burnt. Generous toppings, really cheesy. The garlic cheese bread is even better. Comfy casual surroundings. Attentive service. stay awhile and enjoy. In historic downtown district. Plenty of parking.

We're in Nebraska City for work and have already eaten at City Tap House three times in two weeks. The pizza is seriously some of the best I've ever had -- every time it's been perfect. The beer wall is awesome, too. You can try a bunch of different beers without having to buy a full one, which is super cool. Great food, cool place, and we'll definitely be back again before we head out. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed this place for supper. The only way I know to describe it is an upscale pizza establishment. We loved the self serve craft beer wall. We didn't drink any spirits, but they have loads to choose from. We enjoyed the pretzel bites and pizza. I did have to send my pizza back because the crust was raw, but we all enjoyed our food. Would definitely go back!

Let's start with great bar! Top Shelf alcohol and a menu featuring pizza. I have no doubt this pizza gets the pass from middle American but as an Italian kid from NY I knew better to not order the pizza. Did I mention how great my cocktails were? They were fantastic one of the few places in town if not only, you can get a "cocktail" other wise you're at Lied Lodge. I ordered a ham and cheese with apple slices panini. I figured bread with meat cheese and fruit pressed warm couldn't be terrible. I was correct, it worked, write home about no, but decent Sammie while drinking. The bar tender who made my cocktails was extremely accommodating and got our orders correct. Food came out timely. Interior is cozy with self service beer and wine taps. It's definitely worth stopping in here for something a bit different with great service.

Delicious pizza, a cozy outdoor seating area, and so many unique beers to choose from! Great spot to relax and enjoy good food and drinks. Service is outstanding!

Went in after a soccer game. The pizza was just okay. The toppings were good, however, the crust was scorched. Beer was cold with a good selection.

Great service, ambiance and food. There were six in our party in town for work and we all agreed our food was the very tasty and will definitely be back. I had the 7" Thai pizza and loved the fresh basil and delicious flavors. The food came out quickly and overall service was excellent.

Pizza was really good, we enjoyed the atmosphere here. Although they seem understaffed on waitresses (we came on a Friday night with only 1 waitress) there was a birthday party get together going on. Our kids never got refills and the price for 1 soda was $2.50 which is extremely high with no refills... waitress only checked on us 1 time. Beer selection was ok, could be better by including blue moon, Busch, Budweiser etc....

Driving through Nebraska City on a Saturday and decided to stop for lunch, what a treat it was to find the City Tap House! Great space downtown, on Central. It's wonderful to see businesses keeping the downtown of this historic city alive! Inside, they have it tastefully appointed, with table seating and a beautiful bar. The main attraction for a tap house has to be beer taps, well they have that covered with the tap wall! A wide variety to choose, from light, to hoppy to thick and dark! You're guaranteed to find something you like, and it's pay for what you want. If you just want a sip to try, that's all you pay for. If you want a whole pint, it's as cheap or cheaper by the glass than most bars! What might throw you off on the taps is that it is self service, but the staff is ready to help sort you out and show you how their system works, it's ridiculously easy once you know. If you're not in the mood for a beer, they have a nice selection of liquors and wine, many of which are local to the area! Then menu is short and light, but big on flavor! This is a great stop passing through town, or better yet as a destination! We enjoyed it so much that we stopped back in on our way home! Arrive for food and other drinks was wonderful! Can't rave enough about it, I highly recommend!

i was just trying to eat my food and the server kept asking me how my food was and i was nasty!!!!!!!!! and the forks where crusty with mold i do not recommend!!!! and y'all got me drunk!!!!!

We found City Tap House by happenstance as we were passing through Nebraska City and I so glad we did! The pizza was hands down the best pizza ever, it would give NYC pizza a run for their money. The atmosphere was a perfect mix of of loud-but not too loud. The Thursday night crowd was enjoying the food and fellowship. Lots of talking and laughter filled the air. If this isn't enough to bring you in....check out the beer bar. Wish we were close enough to make this a regular date night spot!

When we were there, the business had been open two weeks. Very good launch! Pizza was very good. The beer selection had good options. It's a winner.

If I could give less than one star I would. We stopped here on a road trip heading home and it was one of the only places in the area. We sat down at the bar and the bartender acted annoyed we were even there. I had to ask for a food menu and was told a few times about the self serve beer which seemed like a way to not have to deal with us. I explained we were there for food and 20 minutes later after multiple attempts to get attention of staff to order, we got up and left because it felt like we were being blatantly ignored. A few other customers around us were also struggling to get attention of servers. A very disappointing experience.

Had the Caprese pizza and the ham apple panini and both were excellent. Impressed with the fresh basil growing at the front of the kitchen and added to our food. Wide variety of beer, wine and spirits. Bartender was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be stopping back as we travel thru frequently.

Panini was fantastic Beers selection was very good and lived that could select how many ounces, so could sample more Pizza was just OK- would not go.out od my way to get it Monito was not good at all - should have done a glass of wine instead

Food was a nice change for a tap room, not being just burgers. The self-serve tap wall is cool!

Awesome BbQ chicken pizza. Highly recommend it!! I am gluten intolerant and it was one of the best cauliflower crust pizzas that I have had !!

The on tap craft beers were a neat process, put your card in, retake a couple of small sample and pour your own beer. The French toast beer was very unexpected and delicious. I would like to see a bud light, natty or a common beer though in the selection. Pizza was good. Service and ambiance was excellent

This place is very well staffed, friendly, and overall a great place to come for a night out, even with your family! Great food, beer, wine, and bourbon collection!

I have a travel job and I like to go to microbrew places on my travels. This is the first place I've seen the "pay by the ounce" and "pull the tap yourself" style of beer dispensing. It's so great! It's a fun concept and an exceptional idea. A perfect place to visit if you are in this corner of Nebraska. They also have a number of craft whiskeys and wines available, which aren't my thing, but worth the stop if you are interested. Their pizza is delicious. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be back for sure!

Delicious food. Great customer service. Amazing choice of drinks in a unique atmosphere! You won't regret stopping here.

As always the food was delicious and the people were awesome. Any day week (except Monday) this is the place to be. I am glad they take Monday off as everyone deserves a day off. The beer wall is awesome.

Update: Went with my wife on 5/3/24. We were to have met a few people there. We sat down at an open table, only to be told by another patron they had already "taken" the table, as indicated by the City Tap House's card they had left on the table (and then disappeared somewhere). Not the business' fault; the patron should have kept one of their party at the table, or left something more notable at the table to indicate "THIS WAS THEIR TABLE". Then we left, in that there were no other tables to be had, and we recommended to the other people in our party via text that we needed to go elsewhere, which we did. The place probably lost well over $100 from us having to leave. So my recommendation is do NOT visit this place at 2 pm on a Saturday, as it will be too busy to accommodate anyone else's business. It's good I guess that it's a popular place (Nebraska City doesn't have a lot of options), but it's too bad their location can't handle crowds of pretty much any size. So, my previous 4 star rating has now dropped to 2 stars.

Wow what a great downtown bar! It's a great microbrewery where you can pour your own beer and pay be the ounce so you can try their beer selections! Very cool pizza was fabulous! We live in Omaha and would go back! Great place in small town Nebraska City!

My wife and I and another couple stopped into City Tap on our way back to Omaha after a long weekend in Kansas City. It was the last day of the Nebraska City Apple Jack Festival so we visited a couple of the venues and then wanted a local place for dinner rather than some chain restaurant. We walked in to discover that City Tap was the first stop on a progressive dinner that was part of the Apple Jack Festival so the place was packed and we weren't sure we could even sit down without having bought a ticket for that event. The owner spotted us immediately and walked up and greeted us. We explained why we were there and he immediately table us that he would set up a table for us after apologizing that they had a limited menu that evening because of the dinner. He asked if that was OK and then went right to work getting us set up with a table and introduced the server to us. The food was great, we're big fans of craft beer and I have to tell you I loved the self-serve tap wall set-up. Big plus that they host a lot of local breweries as well as other more nationally known craft breweries so there's a very broad selection. The food was great, the service was great, the restaurant and restrooms were immaculate and we can't wait to visit again!
