City Tavern Kitchen & Bar

This is a must dine in restaurant if you are walking around downtown Rochester. We were greeted immediately upon walking in and encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. Our waitress came to the table with a smile and eagerly answered our questions about certain items. We order the French Dip with onion rings and the Reuben on wheat with chips. Both were delicious! It wasn't busy at the time we stopped in for a bite to eat. But, patrons began coming in as we were leaving. I will definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again!

I am 9 months pregnant and today my husband and I decided to stop in for lunch and were disappointed with the service. Basically our server did so little that it wasn't clear who our actual server was, but the only one who walked past us was Haley and she continued to refill our drinks the whole time and we were so grateful. Turns out the bartender was our assigned server and she did the very least. She did not bring us our food, our ranch, or refill our drinks whatsoever. So I wrote the tip specifically for Haley. The bartender should not be taking tables if she cannot handle them. The food was phenomenal, but we will not returning.

We had a terrible experience. The bartender last night was rude, we had dirty plates, we were charged for a beer we never got, had extremely slow service, we said we had a mushroom allergy and recieved more mushrooms than steak. We have been coming here for several years, but now we will not return.

Went to the roof top bar out back with my wife and a friend from out of town for a relaxing night out. Got seated quickly and had great service entire time. Drinks although inconsistent were for the most part good and worth the price. Food was also good but chicken was overcooked and dry. All around a good experience and plan to go back. Great spot for appetizers and a few drinks on a nice day.

Maybe it's a biased opinion because I was a huge fan of Mr. B's. It just wasn't the same. The remodel is beautiful the burger was cooked perfect, the waitress was pleasant and polite. Just not Mr. B's no onion blossom. Anyway not a bad experience, the flavors was there everything was nice. No compliants far as the food or wait staff goes. Just not Mr. B's. Must say I did like reading about the owner and his commitment to loyalty and customers. How if your a regular they take pride in knowing your drink when you walk through the door. I thought that was nice. Overall I think it's a good restaurant and I will go back.

Beautiful, lots of natural light from the large windows. For lunch I had salmon, my 5 year old nephew had the burger and chips. Burger bun had "City Tavern" stamped on top. Both meals were yummy. Waiter Nuo was very nice and attentive. Bathrooms were really clean. I will go back when I'm not on a diet "cleanse" so i can try other dishes .

Family friendly restaurant located in the heart of downtown Rochester. Inviting atmosphere and impressive rooftop patio. The Happy Hour specials throughout the week are a steal including drinks and appetizers. Highly recommend checking out City Tavern the next time you are downtown Rochester.

Came here for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is fairly big and has a variety of options on their menu. The food is decently priced and tastes good. Would easily come back for a casual lunch/dinner.
