City Winery - Review - Montgomery - The Catskills - The Infatuation

"City Winery, which has locations in NYC and around the country, opened a massive multi-use project on a 22-acre plot centered around a converted mill. The majority of the wine sold across all City Winery locations is made on site, and they have a tasting room and restaurant with outdoor seating overlooking a river and waterfall. They have events all summer long, including murder mystery brunch, live music, comedy shows, and more." - Team Infatuation

7 Vineyards To Check Out Within 90 Minutes Of NYC

"City Winery’s first location outside of a major city is a 22-acre project in Montgomery that’s centered around a converted mill. Along with a restaurant, barrel room, and event space, about one-third of the property is devoted to growing wine vines for the in-house wine program. Those wines are offered on tap in the tasting room, with flights available at outdoor tables overlooking a river that provides hydropower for the two-century-old industrial space. Check their website for reservations, and information about their live music series." - matt tervooren

Google
Today was my first time at City Winery, and it was absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was amazing, everything was full of flavor and perfectly presented. Our waitress, Jaylen B, was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. I can’t wait to go back!

Google
We came in. Joanne is as our server. My wife and I had wine flights, we also had the steak , mashed potatoes which was AWESOME. The Turkey Croquettes was fabulous. I love it here and will be back.

Google
Loved the place. It is beautiful and pleasant, Such great vibes. We went a weekday evening when there was no event. The staff were thorough and pleasant. Food was good. They served us wine and food was served very quickly.

Google
City Winery donated tickets to vet tics so veterans like my self could enjoy their event. The location was clean and staff warm and friendly. Princess of food are high but not as high as one might think for a fine dining environment like this. Definitely look forward to returning to this venue

Google
Excellent venue and superb staff! I just attended a family wedding at this location. I’m ill/disabled, and the staff was extremely helpful in making sure I was as safe and had as lovely a time as possible, even when my family (attendants) asked for some last-minute accommodations if possible to help me be even more included than I’d expected. I was truly impressed. They were kind, friendly and communicative. A truly five-star team.

Google
1st time here, and the greeting by the hostess was very welcoming. Did the wine tasting 1st, and that was a beautiful experience... Lydia was amazing and the young lady in training extremely knowledgeable too. Ok, now for the food... ordered the shrimp and crab dip... excellent... and not spicy at all to me... I love spicy foods, and my husband doesn't like spicy, but he felt it was just perfect, too... our waitress is very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu... our burgers... the goat cheese delicious and fresh mozzarella perfect... the burger itself cooked perfectly but lacked flavor alone... with all condiments on the burger, it's not bad... the bacon was cold... the toasted bun was cold... fries tasted good but warm.. not hot... side of pickles ...yummy... I love pickles... atmosphere... beautiful... I love the rustic historic richness...

Went here for Easter brunch with my family and the place was perfect! We sat in the back with a private table for our large family and plenty of food/beverage items for everyone. Lots of natural lighting throughout the building. Service was great and food was amazing. I am from this area and never heard of it before. So glad we checked it out for this occasion! Would recommend for small parties and gatherings. I would return here in the future.

Google
We had so much fun at the Mama Mia brunch that featured the Neon Queen performance. It was definitely an event for women, although there were a few brave men in attendance. It was a time to have fun and dance as if no one was watching. In addition to being talented vocalists the singers also made their dancing queen crowns! Its great to have events like this so close to home.

Yelp
Amazing staff, ambiance and food!!! Love how inviting this place is. We always have great time and a delicious meal.

Yelp
I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! What an amazing experience! Kristen, our server was amazing & Kim could not have been more accommodating! We can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
5 atmosphere, 5 food, 5 service. One of THE BEST experiences you can get. I can't rave enough. Plus as a bonus you get In Kind $25 if you sign up towards your meal... https://app.inkind.com/refer/HYSAFLWH Use that link. And other great promos from this restaurant. I started using inKind and I get 20-50% off to places like this. I am a big foodie & this is where there is a perfect storm, quality, atmosphere, & bargain. I highly recommend them!

Yelp
Yeah, no. If you are booking the place for a couple of hundred people on a potentially hot day in July you might want to look elsewhere. The place looks gorgeous but with it only marginally better inside than out, the crowding made it uncomfortable. The bar tenders were hammered to the point where waits were unacceptably long--especially if you were just looking to keep yourself hydrated with something other than plain water. At least one of the bar tenders got me after a couple of times and jumped the line for me if they saw me approaching. That was much appreciated! The room for the main event was better, but the AC was still being taxed over its limit. Though guests put in their meal selections months ago, there were at least two special diet needs that I know originally went unfulfilled. "Just scrape off what you cannot have." No, that's not how a food allergy works. Everything else was great. And I do mean that. Looking back I am sure these points will not be remembered in the end for the event, but they were big enough holes to give the place only two stars. Oh, and there was the person outside being grumpy about the place being closed for a private event saying there was no note of this when they called. Maybe they were talking about a recording they listened to for hours? Plausible, but I do not know.

Yelp
We love the Winery for the atmosphere, service and the food. We frequent the restaurant monthly. But last night both my wife and daughter got the chicken milanese and both dishes were overcooked, dry with virtually NO flavor. They were pounded to the point of being paper thin and were burnt around the edges. The ONLY thing that was edible was the arugula and sliced heirloom tomatoes on top. The chicken was hardly touched at all, Needless to say we were very disappointed. We brought the leftovers home to give to our dogs. I'm hoping that that was an isolated incident as my spicy rigatoni ala vodka and our appetizers were delicious.

Yelp
I would give this place 10 out of five stars if I could! Lets start with the location... They turned an ugly abandoned factory into a beautiful wine venue!! Love that. This place is aesthetically gorgeous. If you're thinking about having an event here, you have to check it out. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The food came out amazingly fast and it was super delicious. I had a sampling of pizza, arancini, and poke nachos ....all beautifully presented and delicious. I want to go back for brunch. Their wine is reasonably priced and so good. This place is perfect. I live an hour away and will not hesitate to go back!

Yelp
The vibe, lovely. The food, consistently good. The pistachio tiramisu, DIVINE. Cocktail are good. Service is good. A little on the pricey end.

Yelp
We were greeted immediately and once sat, we were given a tasting of one of their best red wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch and ate a lot of food and the wine flights were very nice. Very beautifully decorated restaurant and a great place to enjoy with friends and family. Will definitely return again when we are in Hudson Valley.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. Everything we ordered was so unique and so good. The featured cocktails were fun and delicious. Will be coming back for sure!

Yelp
Linda was Amazing! She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Location and decor are stunning. It made us feel so welcomed. We strolled around the facility. Outside is as grand as inside. we were in awe!! We did a wine tasting. Wine was perfectly crafted. We tasted a few award winning samples. Yes, we did buy a few bottles. We had a great time. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
City Winery Hudson Valley has been on my radar for a while. I first experienced the brand in Washington DC. It was a large space on the water, with an extensive wine list. City Winery Hudson Valley is twice the size of their DC location! And what a beautiful location! Once you walk inside, there are so many visuals for your eyes feast on. From the large bar to the unique furnishings, City Winery Hudson Valley is the regions hidden gem. It's Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and City Winery is participating. Woo hoo! Any restaurant week menu has a fixed price for a three course meal. We ordered our drinks and I started with a bisque and Local Roasted Steelhead Trout. This was a very autumnal combination. From the side of different root vegetables and roasted hazelnuts, this fish dish is what I wish. Cooked perfectly, City Winery is a wine and dining destination. I finished this incredible meal with their Pumpkin Crème Brûlée. Wow! Also, Kudos to our waitress! She brought every dish with a service and a smile. City Winery Hudson Valley, I thank you for the amazing dining experience.

Yelp
Beautiful rustic farmhouse vibes at this City Winery. Visited with friends and kids for lunch and had a nice experience. I had the duck and fig pizza which was sweet and savory. I was able to finish 4/6 slices. The kid menu pizza was almost the same size! My other kid had the crispy chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it. Service was super friendly. After lunch the adults took the wine tasting tour and tasting. The tour was of the whole facility including wedding venue and outside space. Then we saw where they make the wine and where the barrels are stored. Afterwards we went back to the bar area and had the flight of 5 wines. Highly recommend the Natural Cabernet. Overall it was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

Yelp
Perfect place to enjoy your evening, or even hold an event. Upon entering the building you see a beautiful bar, and dining area. To the left of the bar there is private rooms to host an event. Service was amazing, especially our server for the night Naomi. She made sure everyone in our party was taken very good care of. She also had no issue handling, all the questions we had regarding the menu. (We had a lot of questions). I encourage everyone to come here. Blackberry old fashion- A wonderful tasting cocktail with the taste of mild blueberries Kung pao cauliflower- you would not know your eating cauliflower. The sweet (not overly sweet) sauce that is used in this dish. Actually have you believing, your really eating a Asian dish. There is a hint of peanut flavor, but it's very subtle. We ended up ordering two orders. Korean pork belly- amazing.. Our order had a nice sweet char and the meat was tender Tuna ceviche- If you are someone that doesn't eat tuna at restaurants. Because 9 out of 10'x, it's served raw. Do yourself a favor and try this dish. The flavors are refreshing and sooo clean to the taste. Brussel sprouts- made just right. Good mixture of crispy Brussel sprouts, top with a maple (light) sauce and feta Parmesan truffle fries- was ok.. better if fries were a little more crispy Chicken sandwich- was good.. I would've like it more, if they added more aioli sauce. Plus, I forgot to add cheese ($1 up charge). So because of these two things, the sandwich ended up being a little dry. Risotto- mushroom and goat cheese balls. Was my least favorite. I wasn't a fan of the flavor and the texture. It just tasted like thick rice. Old city hummus- a must get.. loved the soft pita and the flavor of the hummus

Yelp
City Winery in the Hudson Valley is a gorgeous venue for brunch, lunch or dinner. When it's nicer weather out they open up the outside area and it's just beautiful. The food is picture perfect as you can tell from my pictures and taste just as good. Also the drinks are even better than the food! For brunch they have bottomless mimosas and rose. I would also highly recommend the wine flights/tastings.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place in the area!! Me and my family often visit a lot of the wineries in this area, and City Winery HV is definitely the best. We have come here for lunch as well a brunch recently and loved everything we have had!! The menu is a really good mix of classic staples as well as unique and different offerings, we had a hard time choosing because everything sounded so good. Their menus are also seasonal which is really nice. Service was great and very personable. The grounds here are stunning, very cool industrial chic vibes, beautiful outdoor area with views of the vineyard. A lot if their wine is on tap which is so fun. They source their grapes from around the world so you know it is great quality. They also offer wine tastings! They host lots of fun events and concerts I definitely want to go back for!!

Yelp
This wine and food are delicious however I had a bartender who was a bit subpar. It took him forever to get my drink and food order as I was sitting at the bar. Never asked me how my food was or if I needed anything. I decided to get two bottles of Chardonnay and Sauv Blanc to go and he tried to charge 48 and 56 USD, respectively. I asked a different bartender is that was normal and she said oh no. And changed my tab from $140 to 88. I asked if that was a normal price for non members or anything and she just said no and didn't give an explanation on why the other guy tried to charge me so much. I will go back, but hoping for some better service.

Yelp
It was a wonderful experience, the food and wine is extraordinary. Their burger beef blend was a marvel of flavors. I cannot wait to visit again

Yelp
Amazing wine, delicious food, and an absolutely stunning venue. The flights are a great deal and allow you to sample four different wines. The cocktails here are also excellent. Friendly and helpful bar staff in both the indoor space and the outdoor events. We recently saw Josh Ritter and Band in Concert at the Vineyard. The concert was outstanding! It was a beautiful venue but it was directly in the sun and 90 degrees out. I would recommend hats and ample sunscreen if the forecast is not overcast on the day of the performance. The staff working the concert were welcoming and friendly. A nice variety of wine, beer and handheld foods were available before the live music began. We look forward to returning to City Winery Hudson Valley soon!

Elle L.

Yelp
Attended the bud feast event. The venue is gorgeous and the event (despite being held inside due to the weather) was great. The performances were AMAZING. The service was friendly. But.....The food is really terrible. This was my second visit (the first was for brunch) and again the food was extremely disappointing. The establishment really needs to change whoever is in charge of the kitchen because there is no excuse for the food being so mediocre for the price tag. We were a group of 4 and will unfortunately not be returning.

Yelp
We had reservations for 1PM on Mother's Day. What was supposed to be a lovely day turned out to be one of our worst dining experiences. The service was below ZERO! We went for brunch, and it literally took 3 hours for our food to come out, and when it came out, it was cold. The food the service left a really bad taste in my mouth. This place as beautiful as it is is poorly managed. It was not a good experience. I'm definitely never going back!

Lisa L.

Yelp
Beautiful place! Wine amazing. Food perfect! Service on point!! Highly recommend... we would come back for sure

Yelp
So I had a so so experience last time and tried once again, however disappointed as last time. Service always seems to leave a lot to be desired - 1. Asked if A1 steak sauce was available. Server said yes I ordered the steak frites. When the food was delivered - no steak sauce and busser said restaurant doesn't carry it. Had I known that I would've made another entree choice. 2. Sever never checked on us after main course dropped off till we were finished. I needed more ketchup but never got the chance to ask for it. 3. Order espresso coffee which came without sweetener, by the time it showed io the coffee was cold. 4. Celebrating an anniversary so asked sever quietly for a candle in our desert - no candle when desert came. So nothing here is a major complaint and the food has always been good - but overall just feel let down each time we tried it. We never take it out on the waitstaff and leave 20 % regardless but we drive over an hour to visit the restaurant... so not sure it's worth a 3rd visit. I know in my last review Brianna (Customer Service Manager) said to reach out before our next reservation, which is my fault for not doing... not sure if it would've mattered.

Aixa L.

Yelp
The ambiance was good and so was the food. However, the service was slow. The sangria can use some work. It was basically a spritzer.

Yelp
We had a very large group for my rehearsal dinner and opted to sit outside. We did make reservations ahead of time. My parents surprised us in picking this place and I'm so glad that they did. I loved everything about it when I walked in. Our server did a great job managing such a large party. I'm surprised it wasn't split between two servers. The menu wasn't huge but offered some pretty delightful options. I was torn between what I wanted. Everything sounded so indulgent and delicious. Eventually we all made our decisions and placed our orders. We also got a few charcuterie boards for the table. We had a great time. I do wish that there was some kind of fire feature to keep us warm because it was a chilly nice. I also wish the food didn't take quite so long to arrive. Nonetheless, the outdoor seating was absolutely lovely with a soft ambiance and the food was delicious. I had an amazing time and enjoyed my last night as a single woman.

Yelp
Stunning property and venue with great ambiance, especially if they have a live music artist. We scored a seat by the fireplace and enjoyed the entertainment for the evening while dining. I find that menus for restaurant week are hit or miss. Not the case here. I enjoyed all of the items that I had - tomato bisque soup, crispy chicken sandwich and apple crisp cheese cake. Not apart of the restaurant week menu - duck tostadas & margarita flatbread...both also good, especially the tostadas. We arrived early since it was restaurant week and we wanted to beat the rush because we didn't make reservations. As the evening went on, they got busier, but I don't think reservations are needed.

Yelp
Pros and Cons Pros: Atmosphere is very nice The Wine is decent I've been a couple of times, the first time the service was awful the second time the service was awesome Their Pizza was amazingly good! Also the chocolate dessert was very good. The salad was just okay but the added steak was delicious. The dessert Coffee Expresso was decent but not especially noteworthy. Cons Overpriced for what you get The sticky ribs were like eating cardboard they definitely did not fall off the bone! On the other hand the pizza was amazing but the salad not so much just average although the added steak & chicken was tasty. Also if you order an in house bottle of wine it's from the tap so no cork yet they still charge a $25 corkage fee although there is NO Cork! That's a rip off. Second rip off is the $11 Truffle Fries, granted this would be a fair price if you could actually taste the truffle and parm, however that is not the case it comes in a small basket that only has tiny spots of parm and no taste of truffle, they taste like regular fries. I was very disappointed in the ribs, I wish I had only ordered the pizza and wine but of course without the corkage fee that felt like thievery since there was no cork only a refillable bottle with a flip metal top. Lunch for one was $175 pretty pricey for hardwood ribs and mediocre fries.

Yelp
Came here again today to enjoy lunch on a rainy day. We had the white wine flight and all of the wines were delicious! I had a glass of the dry reisling after trying the flight. I also had the crispy chicken sandwich with rosemary fries and it's one of the best I've had. We made a reservation, and although it wasn't busy when we arrived, a few large groups came while we were eating. Our server was great and very friendly. We always enjoy coming here and look forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
I came here for their restaurant week menu. Food was delicious, especially the steak. Loved the seasoning on it and the toppings. Pumpkin cream brûlée was so yummy as well. City Winery is such a beautiful spot. It's big with a bunch of different types of seating. I saw they host a lot of events there so definitely have to check them out some time. I would definitely come back! Our waiter was so sweet. A perfect place for date night (super beautiful spot). Love the ambiance of the place. I was happy with their restaurant week menu.

Yelp
Amazing, delicious food! Super friendly service! I highly recommend this place, it's so much fun! Reservations available but not required

Wanda G.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The ambiance was excellent. The wine was very good. 1-2-3 stars HOWEVER The menu was very limited as far as entrees. There were three burgers out of nine entrées. The food was so so, the pizza was better than the pasta (bucatini) that I had which I thought would be a much bigger portion. There were hardly any capers and it was a tasteless dish. They definitely need to improve the menu and improve the food. The hamburger was $34 and it was very small.

Mark L.

Yelp
Great service great wine and tonight really great pork schnitzel and chocolate budino for dessert and we love the atmosphere and music
google avatar

Wendy P.

Yelp
Make a reservation. Our food the summer pizza was horrible and it took forever to come out. The restaurant is really pretty with outside dining and a beautiful lawn for concerts. Service also very slow. I would have asked for another pizza but it would have taken forever.

Yelp
Yesterday we attended the Bud Break event. It was a lovely wine and food pairing experience. Beautiful setting & venue despite the weather. There were multiple stations with various wines and delicious food samples. The Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Musical performances were great. The Event was scheduled for 12-5PM. There was a winery tour at 1:30PM and another scheduled for 3:30. The crowd thinned out after the initial tour but there were still people enjoying the event. There was a Brunch menu available. The Burratta was delicious. By 3:15PM the management started cleaning up & there was no more food to pair although the wine samples were available all at one station. The 3:30 winery tour wasn't announced. When we inquired we were given a flimsy answer as to why the tour wasn't held. I understand there might not have been the turn out the Winery expected but there were people enjoying the event almost till the end. Not to hold a promised tour & starting to break down the event almost 2 hrs before the end time while folks are trying to enjoy the event really soured what was a started out as lovely day.

Yelp
Recently had another trip to City Winery in Montgomery NY, this time for a tour and wine tasting. City Winery Hudson Valley is built at the site of an old yarn factory in Montgomery NY. During construction a large number of original machines and other artifacts were discovered and incorporated into the design of the building. This adds interest as the guide weaves historical fact's into the tour. The tour is split into 2 parts, building tour and then wine making facility tour. Once the tour is complete then the wine tasting begins Our tour guide was Ryan. He was very knowledgeable about the buildings history and really took his time to show us around the behind the scenes of this historic building and the wine making facility. He answered all our questions and also treated us very personable. I have been in other winery tours we're the guide just drags you around, not Ryan he made use feel like he was taking his friends on a tour because he was proud of the facility. The wine tasting portion of the event was also very nice. It included 5 bottles of wine, 2 whites, a rose a 2 reds accompanied by a nice cheese platter. Unlike other wine tasting the "pours" were generous and the wine was very good. Ryan did a great job at explaining each bottle and didn't rush us to drink up before the next pour. Overall a great experience and well worth the price.

Sophia B.

Yelp
It looks like from the reviews food and service can be hit or miss. I've been four times now and I have to say every time has been great. Some menus were better than others but everything was pretty solid. The place is beautiful and a lovely spot to relax. We've attended made events and gone for salsa dancing. It's a great venue and everyone who works there has been very friendly. It gets pretty busy and I can see why people have had spotty service (especially during the event.) Something to work on but definitely a place worth checking out.

Yelp
First of all this place is gorgeous and very accommodating. As a group of 10 we were planning on going rafting but with a flash flood we decided last minute to get brunch as it was sunday at 11:30am. They were able to seat us no problem and the staff is super friendly. They have bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, bloody marias, or rose for only $25 which is a great deal. I had two cocktails, both were good but "a sunny day in paris" was great. We got the burrata, the mushroom and goat cheese risotto balls, and the spicy whipped feta dip to start. The burrata was a little lacking for the price. The balls were dry and i wasnt a fan but the feta dip was delicious! If i were to go back id definitely get more feta dip. Now for entrees. My fiance and i split the chicken and waffles and the pancake tacos so we could try both. Out of the two the pancakes were a lot better. I couldnt even eat much of the chicken and waffles it was so bad. The chicken was bland and dry, the waffle was bad and dry. The syrup was yummy but couldnt help the rest of it. The tacos were okay. I liked the idea but flavor wise they were a bit lacking. Over all I would go back but i would either stick with the dip or try a different entree and hope for the best.

Yelp
We experienced City Winery in Manhattan and enjoyed it. When we found out there was a City Winery in Montgomery we were curious. When we saw the history we wanted to check it out. Overall great experience- it's the only winery of all their locations along with Chicago that has the largest selection of their own home grown wine. It's very hard to find a genuine sweet red wine not counting desert wines. Their Sweet Riverside Red was among the best I've tasted in the US. The Branzino was lightly breaded and very tasty. My wife got the cheese platter which was excellent. Ali was an outstanding server - she knew the food and wine menu and customized it to us. Great place to bring a big group and see entertainment. We will definitely be back.

Chris Q.

Yelp
The waitress was super nice. However the management, and food service was complete trash. They gave us the Mother's Day menu to come back 10 mins later to tell us we don't have this menu anymore and can't serve it. We had a 2pm reservation. As I write we had just received our food at 448pm. Mean while she took the order at 230. While I waiting multiple people complained that to the manager who did not care. Had brushed them off. This place is a joke. Service is ass a lot of mothers had their days ruined. If I could give negative stars I would but unfortunately you can't
google avatar

Donna R.

Yelp
If I could give this place negative stars I would. We were so looking forward to our mother's Day celebration and after two and a half hours we still did not have food, we bused our own table and had to go to the bar to get her own drinks. The service was beyond horrible. We would never recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Terrible food and service. My husband and I went to City Winery for my birthday. I wanted to go because the building and surroundings looked beautiful in the pictures online and in person it was a very pretty space. However, the ambiance did not make up for the lack of service and quality of food. We were seated on the patio and waited about 10 minutes for a server to come by. We didn't mind the wait at that time and the server did apologize. We ordered drinks and appetizers and they arrived in reasonable time. However, my husband ordered a beer and the can was left on the table and he wanted a glass. We asked for a glass and were told all pint glasses were out. Pint glasses are out? Were they all at the wedding party taking place? We suggested any glass would do, could we at least have another water glass? The high school expediter finally agreed he'd bring us a glass. I never heard such a response and received such resistance when asking for a glass. The entire time we sat I stared at a dirty table from 5 people that left a few minutes after we arrived. No one could be bothered to clear the table, even though food was being served all around. Not one person could clear the table. It was disgusting to look at while eating. The appetizers were ok but were obviously frozen and heated in a microwave. Some bites were warmish and others were blazing hot. It took time for the plates to be cleared and we order our entrees. When the entrees arrived another high school age kid left the plates and we tried to get his attention immediately after he dropped the plates because we did not have silverware. I shouted excuse me and he kept going. Not a care in the world. No one has been trained to drop food and say can I get you something else? Are you ok? My husband went inside to get us silverware and complained we had food and no utensils. Someone must have alerted the waitress who came over and said is there a problem. We said well now we are ok, we didn't have silverware. She said oh, ok I thought there was a problem. No apologies and again no concern. The entrees were mediocre at best. My husband described his pizza as a kids pizza. Very doughy with limited sauce and cheese. Not worth $15.00. I had the vegan pasta dish that was fine but hardly any sauce. No need to ask for more cause the waitress was never around. We decided it wasn't worth staying for desert and I was tired of listening to the patio door constantly opening and closing and staring at a dirty table that still wasn't cleaned. The bill was $120.00 for 4 drinks, all non alcoholic, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees. That's a lot in my book for average food and no desert. I eat out in beacon weekly and never spend that and the food is always delicious. I will not be returning and would not recommend dining here.

Yelp
We came here on a late Saturday afternoon & it is our first time here. The main building is beautiful as other reviewers have mentioned plus there is a nice outdoor deck. We decided to sit at the bar and our server was attentive & friendly. I believe they recently hired some new staff. I advised my server the type of wines I like & he gave us recommendations. The shareable foods were fresh & tasty. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at CWHV.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this place. I had the margarita pizza which I usually get, it was slightly cold. Then had the filet mignon special, I wasn't a fan. The cut of the steak wasn't great or tender. The red wine reduction sauce did not compliment the steak very well. Service was top tier per usual.

Yelp
Excellent wine tasting! Wonderful food! Top notch service. Manager made a small adjustment on our bill and she did it with a smile and was just more concerned that we left happy. And YES we did! I even bought a shirt!

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here. 1) I do not drink any alcohol, but they were very welcoming with non-alcoholic bubblies and mock-tail. 2) Got their burger, which was very good. 3) Their fries were good. (But, I recommend they have cajun, peri peri, or Indian masala spice options on their fries.)

Yelp
We went to see a concert. They really, really need to say on their website what the parameters are for each level of ticket. We bought orchestra (traditionally means you're front) apparently, that means back row crowded by other people. The food was fine but overpriced as was the wine. In the future I'd by cheaper seats as they are further from the stage but have more elbow room, I'd also eat before. Wish they had more variety/selection for concert wine but also fully understand why they can't! We have been before for just a HH/dinner before during Halloween and that was FAB.

Yelp
My DH and I decided to stay close to home and had been wanting to try CW for awhile. The last time I had tried to get a reservation it was booked.. so I booked by 2p for later that evening through CW's website. In the reservation, there was an area for requests/comments. I asked to be sat at a table where we would have a view of the River Dam/falls. The space is pretty awesome. They've kept enough of the old mill to pay homage to its roots. Old machinery repurposed into the hostess desk etc. there was a huge fireplace that was burning and making the place smell like a BBQ joint, not a bad smell, just not what I had imagined a Winery based restaurant to smell like. We had our temperatures taken and asked the obligatory Covid questions and of course, expect to wear masks while walking to and from your table, restrooms etc. I was slightly disappointed that we were sat at a table against a wall no where near a view of the water, I didn't bring it up or make a stink, but I wondered if they even look or see the requests. It would've been different if the hostess had explained that unfortunately we don't have any tables in view of the River.. but it wasn't even brought up. As I looked around I realized I needn't had worry about dressing up, most patrons were in Ts and jeans or sweats. Seriously people, coming out of a pandemic aren't you ready to ditch the sweats for a night? The staff wear a CW tee and jeans - more bar, BBQ joint or Texas steakhouse than upscale wine geared restaurant. We reviewed the menu and decided on the Appetizer- Goat cheese risotto balls as a starter and a CW Reserve and Classic Flight. The wine was average.. favorite being the Rose'. I thought the goat cheese would come through more as it's strong when fresh and it didn't. It would have been nice with the wine. Entree - Salmon - salmon was good and the presentation was very pretty. Dessert - Salted Chocolate Truffle "pudding". Total of bill with Tip $102. Overall, we just didn't get "it". Is this a winery geared restaurant or a BBQ joint? The food is a mix with burgers and chicken sandwich and then 3 elevated dishes. The pricing is more upscale. The wine is barely mentionable, the food decent, the space is amazing. Maybe as an event space - but date night, special occasion dinner.. we will go elsewhere.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Not a vinofile so I cannot comment My wife did not complain about her cocktails so I'm hopeful they were good. First thing, the floor plan layout on the sight you have to buy your tickets from is a total fabrication. Just picture one long table. Your are back to back with every table. Example; I decided to buy a front table for a premium price for my wife and I, on the website plenty of room and tables spaced out nicely (I will include a photo below) in actuality, one long table or tables back to back. No room at all! The person to my right going backwards away from the stage was pinching my rear constantly. Though not about the money for me I'd purchase the farthest stage right or left seats next go definitely as there was plenty of room in the less expensive seats. I specifically wanted space and to be close to the stage, not stacked side to side like a communal table. My right side was the stage side and I was in the second table from the center stage. Very fishy set up and false advertising for sure. The table next to me on either side was was butted up with No Space. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8... I am not sure how many table there were but like I said one long table at the end of the day. So 4th table were cheaper seats and the illusion of some exclusivity or room was a total fallacy. So let me say this, the space is beautiful and I would go back but knowing what I know now is priceless. Second; the doors opened late so 1pm turns into 1:15 and for a 2pm show is not really optimal considering we wanted to eat as well and not have food in front of us or eat during the show. Some people did eat and that of course is their own choice. Third; the food was HORRIBLE, we had another couple at the table as 4 to a table was known previously. They were lovely and we heard them choose the Mushroom and goat cheese risotto balls. I bet these were from Walmart. I kid you not they broke apart into pieces and were overcooked and cold. No sign of mushroom or goat cheese, mostly risotto. Like a cheaply made white rice ball. Omg I had one half and left them be. The other couple said I would never get them again but I just was disappointed. I did have some high expectations about the food but after reading the reviews I should have know better. Looking at this place you would think wow, this place is really nice but the reality was much different. Ok so my main was the special French toast Monte Cristo sandwich with house made fries. The sandwich was limp and the bread was described as local challah bread, No way! Wonder bread not the thick sliced or anything resembling challah bread and the fries were cold, not lukewarm but cold. Our table mates said the same and we were all very disappointed. My wife order shrimp tacos which had a nice description but only had green cabbage shredded dry and the soft tacos were so limp she could not pick them up. She ate the shrimp and a half out of each one with her fork? HORRIBLE FOOD! Do not eat here. Again a beautiful venue with inedible food. Forth; the mains came and the appetizers were never bussed away. No room and the girl is handing them to me and I just say " you cannot serve the mains without bussing the table, there is simply no room" At this point I'm totally peeved and obnoxious, and my wife was not happy with me. But we are paying good $$ for substandard food and service. So you would have be peeved too. Our table mates were just as pleased but not as vocal as I. So I leave to go to the restroom and when I return my wife tells me that she made our feelings known and the app and one main had been removed from the bill and that she paid the bill as well. She is a real desert girl but she was looking into the future with our recent experience. Good show beautiful wife!! Who knows how that would be like. I gave two stars because I did like the space. I will add more as I think of it. Ty

Yelp
What a beautiful place. They take your name and temperature when you arrive. Masks are a must. Social distance is definitely set up correctly. Staff are great. Great drinks and food. Check it out if you in the area. It's my first time here And I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Went for a tasting and was surprised to see the limited space at the one small standing bar. It was a bit crowded and felt somewhat rushed. Wines were delicious and the facility is beautiful. I think next just opt to sit at the bar and get a wine flight as opposed to an actual tasting.
