13 Great Places in Metro Detroit for Takeout or Delivery

"This New Center restaurant knows its way around a wing, but customers won’t find any standard battered and fried birds here. City Wings tosses its Amish chicken in a variety of sauces and seasonings ranging from traditional spicy buffalo wings with three levels of heat to parmesan-garlic to curry." - Serena Maria Daniels

First time visitor to City Wings. I ordered a 10-piece hot wing. My order was made properly and tasted delicious. My partner ordered the onion rings with a side order of wings and he was very pleased with his order as well. In addition, customer service is friendly and inviting. The total cost of our meal was roughly $24.00 and the wait time was about ten minutes. We used Google maps to find this restaurant and you have to be careful not to pass it because it is hidden by some trees (if you go past the tattoo shop or convenient store then you went too far). I uploaded an outside shot to help potential customers locate the restaurant. There is no fee for parking in front of the restaurant. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and we enjoyed our food. I appreciate you for taking time out to read my review. I hope you found the review informative.

These guys are doing a great business on the boulevard. And flavor of wings, though they are small, it's worth going for the fries alone, they were crispy fresh and delicious. The salads are fresh. They are friendly happy staff. They shouted a warning when the meter reader was coming! I love these guys! The place is spotless clean. The bathrooms are neat and tidy. This is not fast food because its fresh and made to order. Be sure to grab dome napkins and eat up!

Situated in the New Center area, just west of Woodward, this spot is a gem. The wings were delicious. Hot is the PERFECT hot. I love spicy food but if you aren't really 'bout that life then maybe try medium at first? The potato salad was also great. Can't wait to try more sides the next time we order from here!

When you could have Buffalo Wild Wings or Wing Stop you need to choose City Wings. This place is incredible as it is not only local Detroit, but it does everything on its own. Their sauces are their own and they keep adding. Their sides are always fun. They use Amish chicken so you know you have less chemicals going into you. The sauces and rubs reach any level of hotness (or not if you just want to have something more, um relaxing to the taste buds. My personal favorite is the seeet chili. Did I mention you can even have the fries seasoned with another flavor? That for me is what makes this place stand out, among other things. You can order in or take it to go and if you want to have a party, they make party platters. They have been consistent since day 1 and that's been like 4 years now. I am, and I know many, are truly fortunate to have this here in midtown Detroit!

Amish chickens were delicious and had a very natural taste to it. They had a lot of delicious flavors. My only concern was the cost, as it was close to a dollar per small wing. Looking forward to going again.

Tried this place on a whim and it was good! The fries were fresh and the wings were too! I also tried the cherry lemonade which was bomb. I personally don’t mind but some may: the wings are kinda small so order accordingly!

I'm NEVER going to lose weight as long as City Wings is around. Their lemon pepper wings are sooo addictive. Their wings are seasoned to the bone and ALWAYS HOT AND FRESH. Their lemonade is also amazing and made just right. THANK YOU CITY WINGS FOR BEING THE BEST IN DETROIT!

Update: First of all, anyone complaining about the size of the wings doesn't understand the chicken is local Amish, which tends to be smaller but better quality. My review: Customer service was the BEST I've had in a long time. Very helpful. Good vibes. So refreshing. Great atmosphere inside as well. A little heavy on the minimalist modern style but still comfortable. The BBq wings..... Y'all. The garlic parmesan fries....! Y'all!!! That cherry LEMONADE! 😍 My only complaint is that you only get one flavor. We get so used to standard industry practices that it can feel like being punished if a place doesn't follow suit... But since I know I'm eating clean chicken, it is WELL worth having to choose one flavor. I will be back for sure to try other flavors.
