CityPlace in Palm Beach is a charming and beautifully renovated shopping and dining area. It offers a cozy mix of restaurants, boutique apparel stores, and stylish design shops. The landscaping is especially inviting, with lush trees and greenery throughout, and moss elegantly hanging from balconies, giving it a laid-back, upscale vibe. A great place to stroll, grab a bite, and enjoy the atmosphere, day or night. Whether you're window-shopping or meeting friends, the ambiance makes it worth a visit.

I love the happy hour at City Place! The wings are super delicious and service is wonderful. Lots of menu options, and gorgeous decor.

Google
Picturesque outdoor mall with approximately 15 to 20 stores (mostly upscale brands). A handful of restaurants as well. All newly built. It’s 1 street (which takes 10 minutes to walk the entire length). There are some shaded areas to sit. Close to city center & it’s a 15 minute drive to the beach.

Outstanding! I have a ton of food allergies and staff member, Chris, took great care to make sure that I was safe. Chef and the rest of the team put their heads together - and double-checked with me a couple of different times on different things - to make sure that I got a delicious and healthy meal. I will definitely go back again thanks to their amazing service and their concern over my health. Great job, team! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Google
City Place was a delightful place to visit, conveniently located within walking distance of my hotel, making it a hassle-free experience. I walked to a nail salon and then to Publix to grab an item I had forgotten to bring. While I was there, I noticed a community yoga class taking place in the central square. The beautiful gray and white stone streets were very clean and felt safe. I also enjoyed my time at the Cheesecake Factory.

Google
It's a nice mall. You can find good places to eat, to drink specially the happy hour. It's great for taking a walk and bring your pet with you.

Google
This is a nice outdoor plaza . One day it had an art show. Another day there was a protest down the road . They make it snow during the winter with foam. There is a fun water feature. Kids really like it. There are a bunch of good stores and restaurants gathered around the center. We found sneakers exactly when needed. There were healthy options as well.

Google
The night air was filled with live music, laughter, and the clinking of dish-ware. The atmosphere was the perfect blend of chill and vibrancy. I absolutely love Rosemary Square in the evening... and Sloan's.

Yelp
Every time I come to City Place, I see new businesses and others that have gone out. It's hard to keep track. Greyson, Blue Mercury,, ola, OluKai & Anthropology opened since the last time I was here. Eately, Adrienne 's Pizza Bar, Moxie's, PopUp Bagels, Mango Mercado, Equinox & are opening on the fall.

Yelp
It's hard to rate this place right now. I used to come here years ago and it was really nice. They are sort of under construction. Heck, Cheesecake Factory is even moving down the street. (They should have reopened yesterday actually) There are still some nice restaurants and stores. I love the open and airy environment. It is annoying right now because several large spaces are unoccupied, such as the old Macy's. The good part is the redesign looks very promising. I believe it will be really nice. And now, through the holiday season, Bal Harbour shops has a pop up area. The stores are small but they have one of their mainstay restaurants here as well. (I forgot the name) I would say Cityplace is worth going to, even now. Go check them out. :)

Yelp
City Place in West Palm Beach is loaded with restaurants, bars, clothing shops and artistic beauty. The BrightLine train from the Fort Lauderdale takes and easy 35 minutes trip to the WPB City Place terminal which then continues to Orlando if needed. Everything in City Place is in walking distance. Mom & Pop eateries and high end foodie joints are plentiful. Some of the facinating businesses are as follows: Starbucks, Lululemon, Planta, El Camino, Tommy Bahama, Assouline, True Food Kitchen, Maman, Golden Goose, Salty Donut and Angie's Epicurean.

Yelp
11/14/24- 12:30pm Citiplace! We were almost run over by 2 teenagers on bikes doing wheelies and terrorizing me my dog and many others.. some tourists who will not return! They did not feel safe! The kids were yelling and threatening.. this is literally the 3rd time I've been terrorized by bicyclists speeding up and down the sidewalks! Outside the new luxury rental on the corner of Hibiscus and Rosemary! Enough is enough! If you can't protect your local residents and tourists during the day on a weekday how can you attract more tourists to your restaurants and now pickleball players! I'm shocked they were able to stay around riding at high speeds ! I will warn everyone I know. I did report it to the guest information booth by Il Bellagio. They were very kind and appreciative that I reported this. They need to do more to protect us!

Yelp
Excited mall with higher end stores and food options. Nice walking with music on Sunday at fountain. Parking is $10 plus tax in weekends which I feel is excessive. Nice way to spend afternoon.

Yelp
Dining and shopping plaza. Unfortunately when we arrived, shops are all closed except for H&M. Decorations are nice and festival for photos.

Yelp
The Square, formerly known as Rosemary Square and CityPlace, is an upscale lifestyle center in downtown West Palm Beach. It is considered a New Urban mixed use development. The architecture is composed of Mediterranean and Venetian elements. This area of shopping, dining and entertainment offers an upscale lifestyle center with valet and paid garage parking.
google avatar

Yelp
The Square, formerly City Place, formerly Rosemary Square, is a bee-hive of dining and recreational, family and singles activity. While I miss the Improve, Cinema and two live music venues, they were razed in the name of progress. Nevertheless, it's still a fun spot with excellent facilities and the debauchery of the Clematis Street portion that are on the wrong side of the tracks--literally. So it's a great place for families and those seeking a partner to start a family, or practice the process of starting a family...
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful activities for kids just wish they would ban smoking and vaping since so many children are around. Security staff won't enforce since no sign are posted against smoking / vaping .
google avatar

Yelp
Great outdoor mall with restaurants, bars, shops & a cute water fountain that kids can play in. There is a really neat color changing tree there and they randomly have bubble machines that make "snow". We came for dinner and ice cream. Lots of outdoor seating areas.

Yelp
I am so annoyed at how they do the parking. If you are in before 5pm, the first hour is free. After that, I believe it's like $5 for the first hour and then an additional $1 for each additional 20 minutes. Yesterday I was there for a Yelp Elite event and I was in before 5:00 and by the time I left at 8 pm I had to pay almost $14 to park. This is what gets me, had I got there after 5pm my flat fee to park would have been $7. One would think if you're in before 5 pm and you stay past that one hour that is free, then the flat fee of $7 would just kick in. They have to do something about this it's ridiculous this is what prevents me from coming to city place because the parking is outrageous. This is why I do not come to happy hour at City Place anymore. It is no longer happy after you pay the ridiculous amount of parking.

Yelp
5 star ambience and 4 star service. A very well-designed "new downtown" for West Palm, The Square (formerly known as Cityplace, then Rosemary Square and now just The Square) mimics a first floor shopping, second and third floor living above the shop look and feel. In reality it's an open air shopping mall with outposts of most major national chains. The area has filled in over time with a Brightline high speed rail station, condos and office buildings. It now feels more populated and lively than the actual downtown of West Palm on the other side of the railroad tracks. The restaurants are also very convenient for events at the convention center and Kravis Performing Arts Center. They've taken care to include some knock-out public art. My favorite is an actual dead tree trunk that has been been refitted with plastic jade-like artificial leaves that light up at night. In the center, there's also an old church that still holds services and also doubles as a theater. The only real drawback was the nonexistent service for the overpriced parking (why would a shopping mall charge for parking anyway? :), and the poor service when asking for directions or help of any sort from the center staff.

Yelp
The Square - formerly Rosemary Square - is a beautiful area in West Palm Beach not far from the Kravis Center and the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. There are numerous shops and restaurants with a lovely courtyard. Strolling from one store to the next you can look at the beautiful greenery and fountain. Today I stopped in Lululemon, Sur la Table, and Tommy Bahama just to name a few. There is construction going on across the street - I can't wait to see what is being built.

Yelp
So peaceful! Great place to go on a nice day. Stores to see, food to eat, fountains to read by. This was our last place to wrap up our WPB trip and it was spectacularly peaceful. They have a market on Sunday's but it is very small (lots of free samples through).

Yelp
My dad retired from the West Palm Beach police force and when he lived here we always found time to walk around what's now called The Square. I was on vacation recently with my wife, her sister and husband. I told them we need to spend some time and visit The Square. Lots of changes! They are building like crazy with the focus on more residential units. It was nice to see the fountain with children and families occupying the space. The restaurants and surrounding shops are nice, we were able to walk into a restaurant and get a table for four with no reservation. I'm not sure if there is live music but The Square seems like a live band would be welcomed by all. The shopping experience is interesting, I see a lot of vacancies and I'm not sure why. I'm figuring the foot traffic will warrant high end retail stores but sadly that is not the case for 2023. If you're flying out of West Palm Beach Airport, spend some time here before your flight. The airport is very close.

Yelp
I would have given this place more stars in the past. They are now removing the AMC movie theatre to make way to an office bldg. So this is not really a place to have a life style this is a place to shop, dine and go home. They need more stores and more places to go into. Doesn't have a warm feeling any more unfortunately. Clearly they don't want younger people to go here (since the movie theatre was a go to). I do like the pedestrian only area however they took away the stage and now it is a fountain for kids. I also wish there were more dining places that appealed to more. How do you have a Japanese sushi place with no sushi ? Saito. El Camino is very loud. And so we usually end up at the small Italian place on the side street which serves excellent salad. I now only come over here when I am going to Kravis for a show.

Yelp
The Square is a picturesque area that is lively with shops, restaurants, and activities. The center of the entire area boasts an enormous tree lined with LED lights that change colors. During the summer, they have active water spouts in the ground for kids to play in. They also bring out snow machines as well. In winter, they have a variety of food trucks make an appearance with warm holiday snacks. The restaurants around here are all incredible and not super fine dining, allowing it to be accessible to all. The shops are more on the higher end. Parking is so simple, and I personally recommend parking in the Hibiscus garage. It's affordable and connected right to the entire area.

Yelp
This is the absolute best weekend spot ever in Palm Beach. I know there's a ton more places that's for sure but I fell in love with Rosemary Square. Christmas decor all around, the huge tree in the middle that lights up at sunset and throughout the night, all of the different food spots, things to do, and events, even Soul Cycle is outdoor here.. absolutely love it. Of course, we went to the cheesecake factory to eat because how could I pass on my favorite? but there's so many different places here, different shops from H&M to Lululemon, the list goes on... Rosemary square is a must go.

Joel D.

Yelp
Music is awesome. Just a PHENOMENAL friendly atmosphere here. All guesthouse staff are AWESOME as well.

Yelp
I've been going here for years and love the layout and outdoor feel of the place. There's a huge convenient parking garage attached with security and guest services close by. Lately, I've noticed a lot of vacant storefronts, perhaps due to the pandemic, but there's still a decent amount of restaurants and bars to choose from. The Improv comedy place and and the Copper Blues being my favorite. The light up tree and water fountain in the center court area are very amusing and a sight to see in the evening.

Yelp
When I moved to downtown WPB 4 years ago The Square was my favorite spot--great entertainment venues, restaurants and even a dynamic church in the heart of the Square, but now the entertainment venues are gone, the mom and pop shops under the Harriet Himmel theater have been evicted, restaurants kicked out as their buildings have been torn down for 2 office towers and even the thriving and vibrant church has been kicked out. Who ever is in charge of the Square has killed the positive vibe and I no longer go or take my out of town friends there when they visit. Shame on Related and Mr Ross for destroying what was the jewel of downtown.

Yelp
We had such a nice time. I shopped, I ate, I even had a few mimosas to finish off the afternoon. It's always a nice time when I come here. Definitely my kind of area to hang out at. Everyone in all the shops I walk into are so nice. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

R M.

Yelp
Not what it used to be before the condo invasion. The building was knocked down that had two great bars, comedy club, and a theater. Restaurants are average at best.

Yelp
Lovely place to go Shoping and have dinner . There are a lot of activities happening at the square the water sprinkles are so much fun for the children and at night there is a tree that changes color . They also have fake snow in the form of bubbles coming down on your head at a certain time . I had the pleasure of seeing this and watching the kids scream with joy . So happy this place is restored unfortunately some places went under with COVID . Hope to return again .

Yelp
This was quite nice. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and he wanted to ride Brightline, so we did. When we arrived, we walked to this place for an iced tea at Starbucks and then wandered around the shops. It's probably a lot busier in the winter time (like the rest of south Florida) but on a Wednesday afternoon, it was fairly quiet. Which is preferable to me. I hate crowds. The stores are clean and the area is quite nice to look at. When I ride the train up again, I'll be sure to come back here.

Yelp
CityPlace is a nice outdoor shopping center in West Palm Beach. The shop variety is decent. It gets super hot walking outside in the summer but there are a bunch of restaurants all around CityPlace. It's the prefect place to grab a bite to eat. There is always something going on here. There is live music in many of the restaurants. It's well lit up and nicely maintained throughout. They also have the AMC movie theater here with a garage towards the back side of it. And lastly there is a bowling option called Revolutions. Revolutions is open until 12AM most nights and until 2AM on Friday/Saturday. Side Note: There is a downtown trolley, which goes around the area of WPB. You can get it from City Place as well. It is free. Check out more information on their website: www.mollystrolleys.com Side Note Part Two: There is a lot of parking in different garages. Also many of the restaurants do valet parking options. Or if you are lucky to find street parking you can pay by using the app.

Yelp
Amazing place to spend a Sunday. Great food, clothing stores and nice ambiance Great place to hang out and have a coffee or a great meal. Is many options to choose from I love how they transformed this place!

Yelp
Doesn't seem like the Square cares that much about safety of their patrons. Lights have been out around parking garages for months.

Yelp
City place at west palm beach (the square) great for the family and perfect place for bring kids on weekends and if you like shopping plus a great experience in the art of good cuisine by amazing Chef this is the pla you looking for.

Yelp
We had been to West Palm Beach/PB NUMEROUS times since moving here last year, but had never been to this destination until last month. This is a nice spot with some shopping, but more of a focus on eating and drinking. We were here on the weekend around noon. Fortunately, it was not too crowded. This place reminded me a bit of The Grove in SoCal or Santana Row in NorCal. Architecture is kind of a Spanish style and is very pretty. Parking was a little pricey, but if you spend a certain amount of $ you can get it free. In my opinion, the amount you need to spend for parking validation is a little on the high side. This is a great spot to take out of town visitors to or to visit if you are vacationing in WPB. We were here a few weeks before Christmas and loved seeing the decorations up. Lots of beautiful Palm Trees all around!
google avatar

Darren B.

Yelp
Many high fashion and luxury items for shopping and a few good food options. Parking options are very close by.

Yelp
UPDATE: I think City Place is now called Rosemary Square. Some closings including Macy's. So I love this place and am always here anytime I am in the area. It is usually swarming with people on any given night. It's a great place to hang out, shop. grab a bite and enjoy the evening. There are stores galore to choose from and plenty of places to eat as well as well places to just sit and relax. I am baffled by all the low ratings. I will admit a few places that are big names have gone out of business here which is a shame. I still love it. It does get crowded an d there are people galore. If you like to people watch, this is the place to do it. If you would rather have peace, quiet and as few people as possible this place is most likely not for you. So there are plenty of retail outlets, places to eat. The decor is really attractive. At least you will not be bored at City place, which I insist on still calling them. If you are visiting the area, it's a must see. I always have a blast when I'm here.

Yelp
City Place is several blocks of an upscale mixture of shops, restaurants, apartments, condos, and office space. In the 1980's downtown West Palm Beach was in in the midst of a poverty, crime, and crack epidemic. Then senator Lawton Chiles called it a "war zone" during a tour. Looking at it today it is hard to believe that West Palm Beach had the highest crime rate for a city it's size in the nation in the 1980's. HBO even filmed a documentary about it called Crack USA: County Under Siege. In 1986 a $433 million dollar city revitalization project was proposed by private investors David C. Paladino and Henry J. Rolfs who bought up 72 acres on L Street between Georgia Avenue and Lake Avenue in the center of their project. Before Paladino and Rolfs could complete the project they lost their fortunes. One condition of releasing the land was that Paladino would have a statue of himself placed in the new project. He now stands every day with out stretched hands in the median of Okeechobee Boulevard. The city of Palm Beach purchased the land and in 1996 developed their own project called City Place. The architecture is Mediterranean and Venetian inspired. Anchoring the end of City Place is the Harriet Himmel Theater which was a Methodist church built in 1926 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. A six million dollar restoration has transformed it into a cultural center. It is the only building left from before the renovation. Water fountains and landscaping were also added to the area. Construction was started in 1998 and City Place Place opened in 2000. Parking for City Place is available in a nearby garage. There is a free city trolley that runs between City Place and Clematis Street. Today you would never believe that there used to be boarded up buildings and streets littered with beer cans used to smoke crack cocaine. In it's place are trendy restaurants and shopping. Right now the area is undergoing another intense $40 million dollar construction project to make it more appealing in a changing retail environment. A Macy's has already gone out of business and in it's shell is an art project called Called Culture Lab that uses art to examine the decline of the brick and mortar stores. The plan is to replace the Macy's with a 21 story apartment building and an 18 story office building. The new project is meant to give the area more of a plaza feel with outdoor seating, improved landscaping and lighting, and better pedestrian flow. The project is expected to be completed this year in the spring. Only time will tell if more money sunk into the area can keep City Place for sliding back into urban decline.

Yelp
The square is absolutely beautiful but they have literally hardly any shops. And the ones I have are boring. I love the square it's beautiful they have great dining. They have one boutique if you look real hard I haven't seen it yet. Tommy Bahama and a couple other few things but that's about it will not be back.

Yelp
Ew! Rosemary Square is so very not City Place Today was supposed to be a joyful day, the Broadway musical "In the Heights" released its film version and it was my first time back in side a cinema, much less a theater. I felt like I responsibly went early enough to be able to keep my distance, wipe down the seats, and settle-in before the show began, As any responsible "theater goer" with you. Myyy goodness, however! This Rosemary Square change is quite A different experience than City Place ever was. *ONLY the Down escalators worked *NONE of the elevators worked * we can no longer validate our parking inside the movie theater. Instead, we have to walk all the way over to the other side underneath the escalators, that did not work, in order to find the little parking attendant window in a dark, quasi-lit location. * ironically, the "five dollars for all day parking on Saturday and Sunday," it's not only tax, but a "convenience fee". And let me be clear, there is no other method to pay for parking, so I'm not entirely sure what was convenient that I was paying extra for. *The touch-free kiosks outside AMC Did not work and, as such, force people into such tight small spaces in order to all access their ticket purchases at the same desk as were check-in was. * where is my square just seems to have very many other priorities than City Place dead. The issue, is that none of those free appropriations of conveniences seem to be convenient for the *guests.* The image I have included with this post is of a restroom inside the AMC cinema. That's right, no way to wash hands during a pandemic as they have lessened the number of available restrooms. Wait for improvements.

Yelp
We were in Palm Beach for an evening before flying out the next morning. Without a car we were looking for a one stop on Uber to take up an evening and have dinner. This place was perfect! It has a lot of great shopping and several restaurants. It is basically an open air mall. I really enjoyed the holiday tree they had and the humorous fake snow given I'm from an area that snows a lot! Only one star gone for several empty shops but I think it is back on the rise!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful renovation! The new space with the fountain is spectacular! All of the newly planted greenery and numerous orchids make it even more eye pleasing! If you are traveling through West Palm this is an excellent area to relax and grab a bite to eat with the numerous restaurants around or shop til you drop! This has added so much to the already picturesque downtown area!

Yelp
CityPlace is a prepossessing outdoor shopping mall. Some of my favorite places here are Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, BurgerFi, AMC CityPlace 20, and Saito Japanese Steakhouse. It can be quite disorderly during the morning and afternoon hours, but it takes a radical change when it transitions to nighttime; makes you want to hold onto your loved ones as the music and lights fill the night with soothing vibes.

Yelp
I came down here last week to catch dinner and a movie with some friends the night before leaving for Anchorage. CityPlace is located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach with a mix of high-end retailers, luxury condos, fine dining restaurants, and lively nightclubs. The place is always busy with tourists from out of town and locals shopping from the nearby upscale neighborhoods along the Intracoastal Waterway. Parking can be a hassle at times with the parking building filled at maximum capacity on the lower levels with more of the available spots on the higher levels. There was a time several years ago where the parking was free in this building, but not anymore. If you're lucky, the occasional parking spot will open up on the ground floor without having to drive in circles all the way to the top. Aside from that, there is a wide variety of places to eat, shop, or have a fun night out. Restaurants include some well-known names like Burger-Fi, the Mellow Mushroom, Brio Tuscan Grille, the popular local ice cream shop Sloan's, and Il Bellagio next to the water fountains which provide a light show for people who visit at night. The plaza next to the water fountains provides a number of outdoor events that includes the Thursday Farmers Market, classical or jazz music concerts, art fairs, and workout group gatherings. Retail shops include places like Restoration Hardware, Tommy Bahama, Anthropologie, and Capital One Café, an ingenious concept of a bank with its own coffee shop in the lobby area. We decided to keep things casual by having dinner at Burger-Fi and then taking in a movie at the AMC Theater down the street. The theater is a massive complex of screens on multiple floors with snack bars on each level as well as its own restaurant on the top floor. CityPlace also has the Harriet Himmel Theater for performing arts, LA Fitness gym next to Burger-Fi, the Improv Comedy Club where a lot of well-known or up-and-coming comedians perform every week, and the Blue Martini lounge which offers live music and 42 different martinis. We all had a great time and the place was still packed when we left just after midnight. In spite of the crowded parking spots and the scarce curbside parking, the bright spot is that parking is free when you spend over $50.00 on your visit and provide a copy of your receipts at the Guest Services area. There is also a Publix Supermarket just behind the movie theater for people who live in the surrounding buildings. The pictures provided show the Farmers Market on a Thursday Night in the plaza as well as bright blue lights wrapped around the palm trees extending down the walkway. This is a great downtown destination for daytime and at night.

Yelp
Ideal downtown shopping mall with loads of stores, a movie theater and a ton of restaurants including some very good upscale ones . Unfortunately currently there are ripping up the street so you can't crossover.

Yelp

Yelp
I'm going to break tradition and give a 5 star review. CityPlace SO impressed me. CityPlace is a shopping, restaurant, tourist area that any city would be proud to have. It's a place you actually want to hang out at. Many restaurants have patios to enjoy your meal outdoors in the beautiful weather. Every building was new looking, renovated, all sidewalks were covered. Lots of brick sidewalks, trees covered in lights. Lighted fountains. I was just completely impressed with the job West Palm Beach has done to make this area hospitable to the locals and tourists. If you ever get the chance, this place is worth going to.

Yelp
This is an adorable little shopping center to spend some time at! I was here in mid-December, & the weather was perfect for walking around and window shopping... or actual shopping! I was in WPB for a multi-day conference, so I actually came here 3 days in a row! The first day my destination was the Copper Blues Pub, the next day I took advantage of Starbucks and sat watching the fountain for a while as well as did some window shopping, & then the third day I visited Starbucks again & did a little bit more extensive exploring & shopping. There is nice music playing out of speakers sometimes, there's a beautiful fountain, plenty of seating, plenty of shady spots in case it's a sunny day, & overall just a really attractive place to kill some time or make time for.

Yelp
Even from a young age I use to spend hours upon hours in and around Rosemary Square. It use to be called "City Place" back when I would walk through and get ice cream on my way to the library that use to be on Clematis St. Even as I got older I spent even more time there, movies almost every week with my brother and often my mother before she passed away to cancer. But the parking is really ruining the area for me. Flat fee would be great if I ever paid for hourly parking over the years. I already spend $35+ per month on parking down the street for work and that should be enough, but now I can't even see a movie anymore without being charged for parking and it hurts cause I use to love going to see movies and getting food. That is damn near impossible now with the new parking company. If you watch your movie which average length in 2017/2018 was 132 minutes long and showed up on time for the movie with its 25 minutes of trailers you are looking at most of the "3 hours" of free parking that this new company allows you. If you add in getting any kind of food or hanging out, plus walking to get the validation, you are stuck paying to park which is ridiculous. This company is screwing all of the vendors in Rosemary square as much of their traffic outside of peak ours has been through the movies. Every movie goer in their right mind, as well as me, is going to show up to the movies late, and leave early. There is no reason for anyone to stay later if it means paying for parking where for years it use to be 4 hours of free parking (1hr free, then 3 hrs free with validation).

Yelp
On vacation and stopped here for a few hours- tons of places to eat and shop. Great for people watching too. Dogs allowed so many places - love that!

Yelp
If asked to sum up City Place I'd probably call it a dump. If you don't live in downtown West Palm I'm not sure why you would go there. The restaurants are large chains that you can find in any mall, and the stores are pretty much hit or miss. Parking isn't necessarily difficult, but for what's offered in the area I would go to the Palm Beach Gardens Mall or the Boca Towne Center Mall. Easier to park, better restaurants more variety and less of seedy element at night at both areas. I will give it a temporary pass for now as it is under heavy construction and hopefully trending in the right direction. However, this area really needs to turn a corner if it wants to contend with Atlantic Ave, Las Olas, or Coral Gables. City Place needs to find an identity.

Yelp
Just went for the inauguration of Rosemary Square and I have mixed feelings about it. They did a really nice job with the new landscaping and all the settings. There are some nice restaurants and good options for dinning. The place really looks beautiful! However, the city should decide what type of a crowd they want there. "City Place era" used to be very family friendly, with a party vibe later at night. The music tonight consisted mostly of Spanish and night club sounds, which was fun, but that's not suitable for a family hang out place. People were dancing and jumping around on the plaza and there was no space for children to enjoy themselves. For someone like me that does not have young children and wants to enjoy a nice night out, this was a bit much to take. The plaza was very crowded around the stage area, but the restaurants were not at their full capacities. If Rosemary Square plans on adding a bit more upscale restaurants and shops, they should be playing music that will attract a crowd that can afford to spend money there, and will want to listen to what they have to play. Otherwise, it will become a party place for younger people who are there only to party, but without the consumer spending, the shops and restaurants will not survive. Hopefully the city will look into this and make some adjustments so the place is a success!
