Could not love this place more! They are my secret addiction! Amazing sushi for a great price! Always a friendly and welcoming environment! Sometimes I have to tell myself I can't have sushi everyday, but with this place existing, everyday its getting more and challenging!

Google
Hubby & I came for a date night from Lovelock Nevada. This place has the best Chinese and Japanese Food we have ever tasted 😋 and we have ate at a lot of different Chinese and Japanese places this tops the chart with us. Good Job CJ PALACE

Google
This is a hidden gem of mine. I really enjoyed the sushi and Chinese food option. The owners are very involved So the operation An execution is very smooth. The sushi is great. Everybody's happy. They have great drinks. Good service.!!! Reasonably priced. I feel like you get a lot for the value with they're all you can eat.

I had Chinese, ordered a spicy dish, it was very mild. forgot to Couldn't get waiters attention to ask for pepper flakes. Those in my party that had sushi said it was good. I thought it was expensive for what we got.

Google
So a nice night where me, wife & kids went to get something to eat at this place and walked in waited for a bit before someone greeted us at a distance telling us to wait some more then when we finally got to sit down we ordered our food then food came then right away my daughter pushes her plate away and tell us there is a "BUG" in her food. Called the person that claiming be the main manager then tells us it's OK like it's nothing and they'll re cook the food. We told him no then wanted the check to go then tell us we have to pay the whole check when we barely touched the food then started getting upset and told us we couldn't take pictures of what we seen

Google
It is without a doubt hands down the best place to eat when you're in Sparks Nevada for a family of three it costs around $75 to eat there, and that's what's plenty of leftovers for cold Chinese food today after.

Google
This is our favorite sushi place to eat! They are dang near family as much as we go there. Great service and even better food!

Google
The wife and I were undecided about what to have for dinner, Chinese or Japanese. We found that CJ Palace had both, so off we went. Nice interior but a bit dark. Service with a smile and quick food delivery. Never had to ask for anything. The wife had a packaged Chinese dinner. Started with a small salad then an egg roll with a fried prawn and lastly her entree choice, sweet and sour prawns. The salad was average. The wife reports that sweet and sour prawns were excellent. I ordered Japanese food, saba shioyaki, that is a salted mackerel and a futomaki. The saba was pretty good, very oily, good omega 3 for the heart. Let me first say that I have been eating futomaki since I was a child. My grandmother made it, my mother makes it and every old time Japanese restaurant in San Jose makes it. The futomaki made here does not even rate. I don't think I ever order again. I will have to try the other sushi offerings before I would rate online.

Yelp
This is our go to Chinese restaurant. Food is great. Staff is friendly. Price is decent and portions are full. Restaurant is clean, has 2 sides with sushi bar and Chinese. Our family comes here at least once every couple of months. Sushi is good, sometimes comes with too much sauce but it's good. Fresh seafood and quality sushi rice. Chinese is amazing. Love the chow mein and general chicken.

Yelp
I've been here many times it was one of my favorites. But no more. The all you can eat sushi has too many restrictions. I'll have xxxx no it's not included. May I have xxxx no it's not included. May I have xxxx no it's not included. What is included. New owners I think. Good luck.

Yelp
Well my son took me to dinner here actually to a lunch and I usually really love this place I wasn't feeling it this time service was really good but the sushi wasn't up to snuff like I love it. When the seaweed wrapped is mushy then I know I'm not going to enjoy it I like seaweed rap to be crispy and crunchy when you bite it the kids ordered something from there Chinese menu and they loved it so I'm glad I've experienced this place when I really really loved it it just wasn't spot on this time

Yelp
I've heard great things about CJ Palace. Just placed order for takeout. Will update with food review. Super nice staff member took my order. The place is clean and comfortable. Lots of menu variety!

Yelp
Very nice restaurant, beautifully decorated. Lunch with a friend and so nice they have a lunch special that comes with a soup or salad, egg roll and choice of rice with entree. We sat on the side to order Chinese food but you can also be seated for sushi and they have a sushi bar also. I had beef broccoli with very tender beef and crispy vegetables. Salad had a nice sesame dressing and the lettuce was very crisp and cold, ate it all! Good portions for one person took half home! Reasonably priced and great service!

Yelp
Today was my second visit because the first was so great. I ordered the same thing today...Mandarin Chicken Lunch, NOT spicy...because it was so delicious the first time, I wanted more today. The lunch comes with a crispy eggroll that's very good and choice of soup or salad. I choose salad which is yummy too. The fried rice is ok. Nothing spectacular but tasty. The star of the show is the chicken. It is tender and the batter is perfect. The sauce (without the spice) is super sweet which is what I like. I do NOT crave dessert after this meal. This is a meal I want when all I'm craving IS dessert. (:-) My lunch guest ordered the cashew chicken. She was disappointed that there were not more cashews and she thought it was way too salty. When she told our server that she didn't want a take home box because it was too salty, he went and talked to the cook and came back and said "next time tell me not too much salt and we can do that". Personally there is no such thing as too salty for me. But I wanted to let everyone know they can ask for less salt if this is your preference. As for not enough cashews...maybe ask for lots if you want lots? The food seems FRESH and I'm thinking that if we can request less salt...it must all be cooked to order, which is very good. I will keep coming back. This chicken is awesome. If you find this review helpful, please VOTE!

Yelp
Went to CJ Palace 2 weeks ago for lunch, had the bento box #9..Tempura, Tonkutsu, salad, rice, calif rolls, for 15 bucs...lot of food. Went again last night, for dinner, same meal 22 bucs, still lot of food, had to take some home...food is fresh and lots of it...owner is friendly and helpful....will go again.

Yelp
CJ Palace has some of the best Chinese food and sushi around! The appetizers are endless and absolutely delicious--the crab rangoons and potstickers were a standout. You also can get miso OR egg drop soup so it's nice having different soup options. We tried a few sushi rolls, including the King Kong (not deep-fried), Tiger, and Alaskan rolls, and they were all excellent. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes at this place!

Yelp
Always love love love to eat here! My dad and I's favorite place to eat. The lunch specials are the best and the service is fast. I get the crispy beef or sweet and sour chicken! I always replace the spring roll with a Crab Rangoon too! 11 AM to 3 PM is the lunch special! Best Chinese food in town!!

Yelp
Haven't been here in forever!! Still great after all these years! Love how they have sushi and Chinese dishes!

Yelp
Love the Food, love the prices, love the Atmosphere, Stanley is the very best. My favorite restaurant for Chinese and Japanese food in Sparks. The Baked Oysters are delicious. I also choose the #8 Teriyaki Steak Bento box. See you next week. Julie A

Yelp
My only visits here were for their sushi bar. When the pandemic hit; it was hard that I couldn't order my weekly AYCE. I eat AYCE sushi at least once a week sometimes two. I placed orders ala carte bi weekly during the shutdown. This was the closest place to home and I could get my fix. Service was always good here, but my 4 stars were for the over sauced rolls. I had to ask to hold the sauces from my long rolls. It's a pretty spacious diningroom and have been back in for AYCE and asked to hold the sauce. I'm due for another visit.

Yelp
I really like their Chinese food! Fresh and quick, only thing is an hour before they close our table was being hovered on, we just got our food and they immediately came and asked if we needed a box. Two separate employees , geesh let us eat. Food quality is what keeps us coming back though!

Nanci J.

Yelp
I door dashed from here last night...very disappointed. My ex husband and I used to eat here often loved it a few years ago, maybe changed ownership? All I know is the portions were small, not enough sauce... just not happy, not trying to be a Karen

Yelp
Not your typical Chinese restaurant! You can choose between sushi or the Chinese menu. We ordered from the Chinese menu. The restaurant was beautiful-a much higher scale than most other Chinese restaurants. The staff were all friendly and the service was pleasant and fast.

William J.

Yelp
First off they have the best staff and a great atmosphere. I have had tried over half of their menu and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this place. I eat there at least once a week.

Yelp
A group of 5 of us did a late dinner here last Saturday. Stanley is always so accommodating and friendly. We had the hot and sour soup, spicy eggplant, chow mein and fried rice. Everything was amazing as usual. Quick and friendly service and good good food, can't beat it! We will be back since this is one of our go to spots.

Yelp
All things considered, we give CJ's a 4.5/5 star experience! Couldn't give it a 4.5 so we're giving it the consistency of a 4. Food wise: I had the sushi, as you can see in the pictures. These rolls are a part of their new dinner roll selection they have available. Everything considered with the sushi, it was made fresh and tempura was warm. However the taste was very similar throughout the different rolls I tried. Good flavors! However, very similar in the flavoring per roll. My fiancée, however. Had the crispy beef and white rice. She would give that a 5/5. It was hot! Freshly made and vegetables were fresh as well! Overall, it was one of the better Chinese dishes we've had in a while! Sushi gives it a 4/5 stars based on menu selection, price, and limited to no appetizers availability with an all you can eat. Service wise. The gentlemen that were serving us were right on it! Made sure we had drinks constantly and was right there to get the sushi orders input. We're not used to ordering directly with a person, but it was nice to have the sushi delivered as quickly as it was. Overall service was 5/5. Ambiance wise. It was towards the end of dinner time so it wasn't as crowded as we imagined. There were tables being served but the place seemed clean, friendly and felt inviting. The waiters did a good job of taking care of their tables. We're accommodating and attentive to detail without being intrusive which is a great thing in the dining industry. Thankful to the staff for being accommodating with food allergens! Definitely brings up the 4 to the 4.5 but can't rate in between unfortunately.

Yelp
The sushi rolls were good, but quite literally were the smallest rolls of my life I've ever encountered at a sushi place ( and believe it or not im not being dramatic). Service was fast and efficient , restaurant was busy but well kept . Plenty of parking and shopping near by . Don't think I would revisit due to the dollhouse sized rolls but it's def a spot to try out if you like Chinese / sushi .

Yelp
This is our "go to" for Chinese and sushi. It's never a question of where we are going it's when. Service is always great and food is plentiful and yummy! We love their spacious booths, makes you feel a bit fancy with a reasonable price tag.
google avatar

Nando R.

Yelp
1st time here. We were seated quick. They have very tasty Linch Specials. Service was good. I would return in the future. Air conditioning could be a little cooler.
google avatar

Victoria V.

Yelp
Came for lunch, not busy, possibly about 3 tables taken up and some at the bar for sushi. I've taken out from here before and the Chinese is actually pretty good. I had the sesame chicken and shrimp chow mein. This time we decided to go in for the lunch special. Service wasn't very good, the waiter just seemed in a huge rush. He was almost hurrying us up to tell him our order, so I was a little surprised because the place wasn't busy at all. After putting in an order, we received our soups for the special. The first thing that caught my attention was THE SPOON. It was dirty and sticky. I had to tell another waitress if we could have disposable utensils, I just couldn't trust it. The soup and food were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Waiter did not come to check on us at all. I think for the amount of money you spend, you'd think the service would be polite. I think from now on, I prefer ordering to go from this place.
google avatar

Geanni D.

Yelp
food was bland even though the attempt of a lot of options was nice ( dinner combo meals) like the soup and rice and tiny roll. The main course was super bland tho. For the price we felt sad. YUMMY FORTUNE COOKIE . Rangoons were fried puffy dough like not the crispy.

Yelp
I love AYCE sushi, but my husband doesn't. CJ Palace allows us to both get the meals we want! It is tucked in the furthest corner of a Sparks shopping mall, and I wouldn't have known it existed without Yelp. Nevertheless, there is ample parking, and there were a healthy amount of guests when we visited for a special Sunday date lunch. Post-COVID, I sometimes worry about the effects of staffing challenges on the dining experience. There's no need to worry at CJ Palace. There were so many staff members doing their jobs well, including two bussers. Our server was friendly and attentive. My husband only wants meat and rice, and she made a great recommendation to order a la carte from the dinner menu rather than from the lunch menu to get a larger portion. The portion was generous, and we now have extra meat to make two weekday work lunches. I was very happy with my AYCE experience. To me, three rolls is more than enough (and worth the AYCE lunch price, which is $26), and at other places, I've sometimes felt weird eating so little. I appreciated that the server didn't make me feel weird here, and that she trusted that no, my husband is not at all going to be trying to sneak bites of my AYCE. In my experience, I've found other places to be hesitant if both parties don't order AYCE. The sunomono cucumber salad was the best I've ever had at an AYCE restaurant, and my rolls (Godzilla, Dragon, and San Francisco) were delicious. I usually eat grocery store and hospital cafeteria sushi, so real sushi was such a treat. When we paid the bill, our receipt came with a discount coupon for dinner. I wasn't going to take it, because we usually eat out only for lunch and not for dinner. My husband said TAKE IT, we're going to use it, and because he is the pickiest eater, that solidified the five stars from me.

Monica A.

Yelp
We had dinner at Cj palace tonight and it never disappoints! Food was tasty. Service was perfect. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere on a Wednesday was quiet and relaxing. We had the War Wonton soup, egg flower soup and the sea steak salad. Everything was a 10 out of 10.

Yelp
Was impressed w/ CJ Palace's entrees that we decided to have our mom's birthday dinner get together with family here. The quantity & Chinese quality is authentic and that is hard to come by for I am from the SF Bay Area where these two requirements are a mustReasonably priced with a ton of options. Highly recommend y'all!

Ted S.

Yelp
always a great experience when I'm on that side of town. the all you can eat is a good price for what you can get

Yelp
5 words... All You Can Eat Sushi. As typical with a lot of AYCE sushi spots, most rolls are small and generic. However, they do have some fancy rolls on that menu. This was the first place I went to when getting to town and I was impressed. After the move, went back with my wife and toddler. The service was welcoming in that we had a toddler and they were understanding of the chaos. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the lack of kids menu. We had to order a full size fried rice just for 1.5 year old. Other than that, we will be back every other week.

Yelp
Was craving Chinese and needed some place new!! Scrolling through Yelp and CJ Palace popped up, only had about 20 min to get there order and be out. I usually don't do that last half hour before a place closes (I've worked in the biz before) but I took a chance, the hosts/server was very friendly and inviting and didn't have an issue with doing a Togo for me. I noticed that there were people still inside having Sushi (gotta try that next) it wasn't too bright or too low of lighting and I could tell people were enjoying themselves. Food came out very timely but wasn't rushed. By the time I got home, the food (Szechuan shrimp) was still hot and very tasty!!! So delicious I forgot to take a pic!!! Honestly this is my new spot for sure!!! Give them a try

Lidia R.

Yelp
While the place was packed with those ordering off the lunch special menu, I came here for the egg fu young or egg foo young, whichever spelling you prefer, off the a la carte menu. I acquired a palate for this dish when I was a kid and restaurants get extra points in my book for having it on the menu. Today's meal consisted of vegetable egg foo young, BBQ pork and a cold Coors Light to wash it all down. The shape of the patties were squared, the brown gravy tasted like brown gravy, and the veggies, but especially the bok choy tasted fresh. All I can say about the BBQ pork is that it was there....as it generally is with this dish, the first couple of pieces of the hot meat were good. I lost interest in the dish as the meat got cold. The servers are walking around like worker bees, keeping busy, disinfecting tables, seating patrons; I just wished the follow up beyond how is the food was there. For example, would you like another beer? Or more water? The Major Negative: The restaurant, especially the seating area away from the window is too dark, not well lit. It would be nice to actually see the dish I am eating. Note to self: bring a flashlight next time.

Christy S.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Reasonably priced lunch special. Great portion sizes and really tasty food! The service was attentive too. Will definitely come back. They also serve sushi so will have to try that!

Yelp
The BEST egg drop soup in town. All time favorite and when I crave egg drop soup this is the only place I go to. Everything else I've had from here is solid and no complaints.

Yelp
Love the sushi, amazing place with great customer service and the staff is always friendly.

Yelp
Omg the service and atmosphere in this restaurant is phenomenal the food is absolutely amazing. My husband isn't a fan of chow mien and took a chance and tried some and he loved it great meal and excellent price we will be back for sure!

Gina Marie A.

Yelp
I was so excited to find a sushi spot down the street from my house. I went to lunch with my cousin and we both got two different rolls, miso soup, and edamame. The food was bland, the raw fish was chewy and had no taste, and the service was terrible considering there only two other people in the restaurant! I love Sushi but this is not the place to have it!!
google avatar

Leticia P.

Yelp
Late night hungry ... thankful for them being open later than 8-9pm. So we tried the AYCE Sushi- ok but several rolls had all similar Ingredients. We did like the inari and mountain roll the best. Good Chinese BBQ Pork Appetizer. Will try and give their Chinese menu a try next visit. Appreciate James and his sushi staff for getting our rolls / orders out right away with less than an hour left.(they deserve a 4 star). We weren't aware of the "appetizers" available with AYCE until later. So we did order egg rolls from the Chinese menu (not knowing) it was included (ayce) but we got charged anyway. Right thing would have been to credit that off; especially when asked MOD. I noticed the hesitation because guess he realised he charged us.

Yelp
This is my to go Chinese place in sparks! The restaurant is clean and the service is fast! I love their noodles and the peanut sauce!

Yelp
Great lunch spot! The price was reasonable and you have a lot of options to choose from! This place serves Chinese and Sushi! Very interesting combo, I only tried their Chinese lunch special! I ordered their General Chicken Special. Their lunch comes with egg roll, soup, and rice. The service was good and ambiance was alright.

Yelp
The is an awesome Chinese Restaurant. Have been there now a couple of times now and they do not disappoint. The have the best chicken fried rice sweet and sour chicken and the best Egg Foo Young and brown gravy!! The Egg Rolls are very tasty and their Fried Shrimp, in my opinion, need to have bigger shrimp! The service is awesome!!

Yelp
Finally found a decent place that has very generous portions for their bento boxes..! I honestly, never saw a sesame chicken Bento box with TWO sesame chicken cutlet.. Generous portions of tempura along with sashimi. Had a general conversation from earlier in the day at the spa, and so glad she mentioned this place. Will be back to try the Chinese dishes. Also ordered the San Francisco roll, and it was decent.. (rice was a little on the gummy side), but still decent. I had to ask what CJ stood for.. and our cordial with the answer: Chinese Japanese..
google avatar

Yelp
Went on a Tuesday afternoon. I got sushi and my partner got Chinese. We loved both! Service was quick and the place is really nice. I WILL be back, because this place is the best of both worlds as my partner isn't a sushi fan but loved Chinese. I would even go as far to say that the sushi is probably the best sushi I've had in Nevada. HIGHLY recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
CJ's has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and their Walnut Shrimp is the best in town!

Casaundra J.

Yelp
I had never been here before but was recommend. The food was not only great but it was also very fresh and the portion sizes were great. The lighting was nice and the booth we sat in was comfortable and enjoyed the space. Service was nothing too special but also nothing to complain about other than having to remind the water for more water. I also ordered a large Sake and it was a great portion and perfect for two and was a great price for the size.

Yelp
This place has been one of my staples since moving here. But, I have noticed a decline. Case in point last Friday. I went on a dinner date there, and we decided to do the Japanese side. I got the chicken teriyaki Bento, and it was not good. The chicken teriyaki sauce itself is just not strong enough. It's like watered down non-impressive. It basically makes the pile of chicken on your plate seem exactly that. And then we get to the tempura, they nuclearized my tempura. Plus it was just saturated in grease. Left little pools of grease when I picked up the piece of vegetable. Now we ordered calamari, and that batter was light and crispy and wonderful, except for there was literally no taste in the calamari. Not even salt. It was the most bland thing I have ever put in my mouth. Literally no flavor. The wife's salmon was tasty, she loved it. I think it's time for this restaurant to rethink things a little. Try to get your Bento a little more authentic. And when you realize you screwed somebody's dinner up, don't bring it to them and ask them how it is. I looked at my tempura and knew it was nuked. Quality control. The reason I am writing this review is because I dropped $70 on that dinner, and if I'm dropping $70 on a dinner, you guys gotta get it right, and don't expect me to be sending my food back to the kitchen, because that is not gonna happen. What is going to happen is a review like this.

Yelp
My wife and I came here about 5:30pm on a Saturday. She has been craving Asian food for a while now and today was the day. Happy wife, happy life! We were seated promptly after they cleared a booth. It appeared they were just using the booths which had a high separation for social distancing. We both commented that it appeared they had a lot of people working and it was not very busy. Before we perused the menu, we were offered water to which we replied, yes and my wife asked for an appetizer of the potstickers. A short while later our orders were taken. My wife chose the cashew chicken and I chose the pepper beef. Our appetizer of the potstickers arrived soon after our order was taken. They looked really good and were very large. Within 5 to 10 minutes our entree's arrived with one big bowl of sticky rice to share. Everything looked really tasty with fresh and crispy vegetables. We both were satisfied and had leftovers to take home. I am sure we will be back one of the next times my wife is craving Asian food.

Yelp
Wanted to eat Chinese food picked up CJ palace. Got home opened the box and the food was still steaming big plus for that one! Flavor was just there Although the fortune cookies were a little on the could do better very stale and dry

Yelp
Visited this restaurant for the first time this past weekend. We were surprised to get a table right away on a Saturday night with a party of 5 and a baby. My husband had the sushi and I had the "C dinner" and chose vegetable chow mein as my entree. According to my husband, the sushi was good. I chose not to get sushi because I didn't see anything I liked on the menu. I'm more of a crystal shrimp sans tobiko type of gal and nothing really caught my eye. So I opted for the chow mein. Love that this place has the option of getting sushi or Chinese food. My two favorites! My meal came with a fried spring roll and crab rangoon. The spring was delicious, but the rangoon was definitely lacking. It was just fried dough stuffed with cream cheese. It didn't seem to have any crab in it. I also had the egg drop soup which was quite tasty. The added chicken made it a little more wholesome. The chow mein was good. Definitely not my favorite, but a good option if you are craving something savory. I asked for chili oil on the side and was disappointed that it was spicy, just added a slight smokey flavor to my meal. Overall good experience.

Yelp
I stand by my amazing review for the Chinese menu. We go to CJ regularly and for the 1st time we did sushi and it was a bust. The service was extremely slow and only half the sushi side was seated. No unique appetizers, staff was lacking knowledge of the menu, but my biggest issue is they put the same 2 sauces on the majority of the rolls. I caught on quick and asked the server and she confirmed basically every roll has a thickened teriyaki and mayo spread. I began asking them to hold the sauces so I could taste the ingredients of the roll but then was aware of how bland they were. We love CJ Chinese and will continue to be regulars but with so many other sushi restaurants in town, definitely won't be eating sushi side again. Plus kids sushi prices were on the high side.

Yelp
Our regular favorite stop for Chinese food at home I always order the Chow Mein, either beef or Shrimp and Hunny's go to's are Mongolian beef and Crispy beef. The lunch special comes.with Hot.and Sour and egg roll. The Hot and Sour soup is the best in the Reno area. The food always arrives super hot. Almost to hot to eat. Always great service.
