I approached CJ's truck with, "How's business going for you?" He seemed confused so I told him in Spanish, "The old truck...Paprika. I love Paprika." He saw this as a test. I ordered one suadero, one al pastor, and one campechano taco. The conversation was great and we both understood each other the whole time. He asked if my car was parked where it was and I said it was -- he, like another reviewer mentioned, brought my tacos to my car. It didn't take long even though I ordered three different types of meats. There were three different salsas and they were all incredible. Be careful with the orange and darker green ones...I could handle the heat but I know a lot of people who couldn't. Also the tomatillo salsa was a surprise. I'm typically not a tomatillo based salsa person...more interested in the jalapeno or serrano base. However, I ate all three salsas. The al pastor taco tasted exactly how it should. The suadero was very dry which is why the salsa came in handy. The campechano OMG, the campechano. I would get just this one next time. Read Samuel C.'s review as it is spot on. Wonderful review! When he recommended a downsize of tacos (order one less than you usually would), I totally forgot. There is so much meat in these tacos. THERE IS SO MUCH MEAT IN THESE TACOS. I would have been fine with 1.5. I got more food than I would have at Paprika down the street but I must say an agua fresca option would be great here.
The truck owner was an absolute delight. It wasn't busy at 12:50 so maybe I missed the lunch rush. Still, I think this place deserves a ton more attention! Just go and try CJ's!
