Claddagh A Wee Shop

This is a lovely little neighborhood coffee shop. I enjoyed a delicious latte with a scone while getting work done. Is there a better way to start the day? Shout-out to Chasidia!

Great little neighborhood coffee shop. Outdoor seating in the alley in the summer, and a handful of inside seats. This is the little sibling to their shop on W.7th Both use Dogwood coffee and they make a good cappuccino here. Parking on the street, and Selby is a little busy so you may have to walk. A bit a ways away from the Cathedral and downtown, so this is a little more of a “local” shop. Highly recommended.

It’s meh if you are fine with milky espresso drinks with very weak flavors. By the time I add an extra shot of espresso and syrups, it’s like $10. Not worth it if you like strong flavors.

Absolutely fabulous coffee place. Breakfast sandwiches have no business being that fantastic at a wee little shop. Also if you're gf, the gf breakfast sandwiches are TOP TIER. interesting coffee drinks, casual and delicious drinks. They've got it all. Also, any time I've been in the folks are fast, friendly and they've never gotten my order wrong. Absolutely one of my favorite coffee spots.

Charming little cafe with an Irish cultural theme. That means scones with clotted cream, and a bunch of clever drink names. You can get tea if you like, but the coffee is top notch! They mostly pull from Dogwood and Backstory as roasters, making for some wonderful pourovers. Rotating roast varieties with depths of flavor.

The Cladaugh Coffee and cheddar scone served with clotted cream were amazing. There was one lady doing everything. The wait was long. There were 2 tables for seating. I will definitely return!

Super cool Irish coffee shop. Coffee was great, we got the Claddagh and the Dirty Seamus. The baristas were helpful and friendly. I love the atmosphere here, it would be a great place to study, do work, or just hang out!

Nothing special here. Coffee is like any other place and service is with stone cold faces from the girls working there. Not even a hello or good morning, just that blank Gen Z stare into the abyss. First and last time here. I don't recommend anyone going out of their way to come here. Another negative is that they don't list the prices next to the drinks, cortado is $4.25, overpriced.

Don't let the cute exterior of this place fool you. Today is the 4th and last time this place has lost my food order, leading to me going to work without eating. How many times is 'oh sorry internet problem' an ok answer to you? Instead of making any proactive change, just shrugging your shoulders apathetically at repeat paying customers. Well I am one less paying customer willing to tolerate your indifference. You should be embarrassed

The latte was a little flat in flavor and as it was iced no foam. I always made my iced lattes with foam in the cafe I worked in. Anyways.

The coffee and scones were excellent. The coffee shop is very small but the service was great.

Amazing start to the day with exceptional coffee latte and this delicious, shareable scone! It was so moist and buttery, it really didn't need any topping but since Devon cream was available, why not feel like you're in London when you're in Saint Paul Minnesota? This is a must stop for myself and my coffee companions.

It's not called this because it's big. Overall friendly baristas and good service. Oh..and duh, good coffee. Not as many frills as other places BUT tastes great and they have fun coffee flavors.

This tiny little coffee shop is super adorable. I wish it was a little bigger for more seatings inside but it is all good. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. This is a second location for them. The main location is on 7th street in St Paul. Back to this cute place, their coffee section is good. My favorite are O'Danny Boy and Dirty Seamus, with coconut milk. Barista is super friendly and fast! Street parking.

Super good coffee and food! There is no inside seating, though, so just be aware. I didn't mind though and took it as an opportunity to explore the neighborhood. The baristas were nice and very fast when making everything. Will be returning! :)

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I love this place so much that instead of walking two blocks from my home to Nina's on Selby & Western, I preferred to walk the near mile down Selby to Dale ST, because Claddagh is FAR SUPERIOR! Better drink preparation on the part of the baristas, who are friendly and became familiar faces to me. There's something comforting about seeing the same people working everyday. I have great confidence in the knowledge and abilities of the current staff. Their espresso has a unique flavor that I love. They also have special monthly drinks that are fun to try if you get tired of ordering the same thing and need a little inspiration. Their bakery items are always fresh and delicious. I'm fairly positive everything is baked from scratch in-house. One of my favorites is their scones, which come with little containers of lemon curd, raspberry jam, and Devonshire cream for spreading. Their monster cookies are incredible. They also have Big "Mini" Donuts, which are downright sinful in the amount of pleasure they create in one's mouth. Apart from their great service, I was absolutely delighted by the fact that they have both recycling and compost receptacles available to customers. I believe their to-go cups, utensils, and cup sleeves are compostable, and their cup-lids recyclable. These things matter to me, and I'm glad it matters to them too! They keep dog treats on hand for customers who come with their pooches, and they keep a water dish outside during the warmer months. I love that! Oh, and they offer online ordering-ahead!

I *love* the full-sized Claddagh Coffee, and was excited to try out this location! It was a walk-up window and had some cute tables outside to sit and catch up with a friend at. Delicious coffee, and looked like a very tasty food menu but I didn't get a chance to try at the time. A must-visit!

Went to another coffee shop a couple miles away from here the other day and my friend asked for a pour over, but they didn't have it nor the knew what it is. However, this quaint little spot has it! It was the only thing I asked for. You can certainly tell the difference between the regular way of brewing. I had the Ethiopian light roast. I loved how still hot and streaming it was for several minutes after it was poured. My kind of quality and service! btw. I drank it up in minutes!

I am in love! Delicious cappuccino (whole milk + good beans) and a gluten-free blueberry muffin made me so very happy. I'll be there every time I'm in town.

Wee is Irish for little...which fits this tiny coffee shop. But good things can come in small packages, right? I really enjoyed the "Hot Molly" coffee. The secret ingredient is cayenne pepper!

Original Claddagh on 7th is a beautiful cafe to relax with a book, catch some live Irish music, catch up with friends, or sip that Dirty Seamus slowly. The 'Wee Shop' on Selby is not for lingering. Not because you don't wish to sit all day downing their Dogwood coffee or delicious vanilla maple homemade donuts. You can't stay simply because there is just not enough room. BUT that is awesome! That is more than ok, do not fret. More shops should pick up this trend of opening a smaller version of their current awesomeness. Not only does it encourage people to try something new, it helps get the people in and out. Have you ever wandered into a coffee shop only to find there are no spots available because that dummy over there took up a huge table with his laptop and homework, and to the right there's a gaggle of children climbing all over the couches? This sweet spot has 2 small marble tables, and a window bar. Perfect for drinking a cappuccino, scrollin' through your instagram, and heading out on your merry way. I loved that in the 20 minutes I spent there this morning, I counted 10 people come in and out with their choice brews. Pretty impressive for the size. That's pretty much the only 'wee' thing about it - the roasts are amazing, the staff is more than friendly, the desserts are tasty, the shop is updated and trendy, and the location is awesome for some shopping and hitting up the local bars. One thing that is not amazing is their hours - 6:30am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday and 8am - 4pm Saturdays and Sundays. I always wish St. Paul java joints would stay open late, but for now it remains just a dream. A delicious Irish frothy dream.

Great coffee and fantastic house-made scones! We came here for a cup to enjoy while waiting for a seat at the Louisiana Cafe across the street on the morning of Jan. 21, 2017 before the Women's March on our State Capital. This place was *busy* but patrons and the two women working the counter were polite and friendly. We ordered an Americano for me and a double espresso for him as well as one of their house-baked scones (a plain one). We nabbed an open table and I went to retrieve our coffees once they were prepared. The coffees were excellent. The scone is the absolute best I've had any place around town in over 20 years - it was on the lighter side in texture and moist, as it should be, though I didn't much care for the large sugar crystals sprinkled on top. It was served with their version of Devonshire Creme (with an unusual bit of sweetness) and some lemon curd (with a spot-on combination of tartness and sweet). Another option is their raspberry jam. To boost the experience, they were playing some acoustic popular classic rock tunes (Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Van Morrison). I look forward to my next visit and I'm going to try another flavor of scone - they also had one with blueberries in it, and one with cranberries and rosemary.

Having never been to the original Claddagh, I feel like it makes it a little easier to judge this "wee shop" on its merits alone. First, it is truly a "wee" coffee shop. Only a couple of tables inside, a very cozy little shop, but what is lacks in seating it makes up for in adorable, twee decor. It's a nice space considering the size constraints, and there is some outdoor seating available during the warmer months. The coffee itself is good- not the best brewed coffee in the Twin Cities, but it's decently priced and convenient. They have a serve yourself station for $2 each morning, which makes it a quick stop. My favorite coffee drink (iced americano) is not my go-to here, it is strong but also burnt. I've tried it twice and was disappointed both times. But the standout at this shop is definitely the specialty drinks. Thoughtful, interesting coffee drinks that all have a fun themed name & taste excellent. I cannot recommend The Claddagh highly enough- it is delicious, iced or hot. Also must-haves are the Dirty Seamus, and the Nutty Mick. Service here has always been friendly enough, no complaints. My biggest complaint about this shop is that they do not have any cream (real cream, not half and half) to add to coffee. Most shops do, and it's not hard to keep on hand- I wonder why they don't. Overall it's a good little coffee shop, great specialty drinks, definitely worth a stop.

Really great coffee, I ordered a cortado. Service was quick, place was clean, lots of walking traffic for people watching.

Love the wee little spot! The Claddagh is amazing (latte with dark chocolate and baileys) and the Black and Tan latte hits the spot (cinnamon and honey). Has about 4 tables, and a window ledge, and the daily newspaper. ....and is good for a sweet treat! I highly recommend!

This is one of the best extra-small coffee shops I've been to. I used to spend a lot of time at the main Claddagh Coffee location across town (one of the best extra-large coffee shops I've been to), but this was my first visit to the smaller "Wee" version. The quality of the coffee is exactly what I've come to expect from Claddagh: expertly made drinks using locally roasted Dogwood beans and a variety of home-made syrups and top-quality milks (including almond and oat milk). The teas are also really good. Even though this is a small space, it's so bright and airy (credit the big picture windows) that it feels 3X bigger than what really amounts to a space no bigger than a bedroom. Still, they have designed the layout masterfully, providing a surprising amount of space for guests to work or visit with friends at one of the tables or at the counter space facing the windows. Baristas are nice and knowledgeable. There is also a clean bathroom. All in all, a great little coffee shop in St Paul!

This quaint little place has become my daily stop for coffee on my way to work. They brew dogwood coffee which is my favorite from the Twin Cities area. They also always have these delicious gluten free chocolate chip muffins which us celiacs sufferers appreciate! I've come in when the owner is working and also other staff and all are very friendly & quick! I'm happy this little place opened up just a couple blocks away.

We live in LA & my parents live about three blocks from here - we were so happy when they opened as there was no good coffee in the area prior...the owner Mary is AMAZING- so friendly and hospitable -- all the staff is super friendly for that matter. The coffee is great, could be a little bit more consistent in terms of baristas & the quality of coffee drinks they make. But maybe they're still working out the kinks as its new. I've definitely been like thirty times. :) they have a punch card which I always love in a coffee shop - a good coffee shop. And their baked goods are really fresh & delicious.

Best chai in Twin Cities. Amazing customer service. Love it love it love it love it love it. Not joking though I probably had Chai at every coffee shop in St. Paul and this place by far has the best Chai

They mean it when they say "wee." This is just a little coffee shop snug in between some other shops. That doesn't stop them from making some damn good coffee. I can't remember the names of the drinks that we got but both were astonishingly good. I can't imagine they have any options that are sub-par. Give it a shot! (coffee pun intended) You won't regret it!

They are not kidding when they say "wee". It is a tiiiiny little shop in a very cool strip of local stores. The baristas have all been very friendly, the coffee is tasty and they have a lot of options. I've been there twice already this week, it's a nice place to stop in with a friend to chat. Definitely recommend their drip coffee!

I really enjoy specialty coffee. This location seems to be more coffee/espresso focused, whereas their main location is more focused on ambiance. Like others have said, the shop pretty much has 2 small tables, so it's not the type of place you plan to study at all day, even if you landed a table you might start to feel claustrophobic after a little while. That said, my latte was very good.

My husband and I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been sampling the area coffee shops. This shop is perfect for a quick stop. Our drinks were delicious, but what really stood out to me was the level of customer service. The barista greeted us with smile, gave us her undivided attention, and offered menu suggestions. You could tell she was very knowledgeable about their products :) Seems simple, but often hard to find!

The drinks are really delicious! Space is indeed very tight, so I'd recommend taking your party of 3+ to the the more spacious original Claddagh nearby. But if you're just stopping in, it's perfect!

What a great find in Saint Paul! The shop is small, but clean, friendly and the specialty drink menu is like nothing I have seen, especially at the larger chains. Our group loved the cardamom scone, lemon loaf, oatmeal fudge, and various muffins, too!

Love their coffees! $4.50+ for their 10oz espresso drinks seems pretty expensive for the quantity but the quality makes up for it. The blueberry crumble (something) is delicious too.

Great little coffee shop. They make some excellent flavored drinks that aren't too sweet or overpowering (big fan of the salty dog). Tasty baked goods and reasonable prices. It can get busy at times, making it a bit cramped. Only downside is the size.
