Claiborne House B & B

This is the best place for a on night getaway or for several days. The hosts are warm and welcoming and treat you like you’re in your own home. The room we had was beautifully decorated and had an awesome jacuzzi in it. The house was decorated for Christmas in beautiful bright red and green with many unique pieces. The host also will tell you about the antiques in the home and give you a leasurely tour. The breakfast is always a special treat. We got to pick what we wanted for breakfast. It was hot and ready on festive Christmas dishes. The pecan syrup for the pancakes was absolutely delicious. We have stayed here several times and feel like family when we come. I recommend The Claiborne house for any special getaway like Birthday or Anniversary or for just that step back into the old days nostalgia. We will be back again. Jeana J

Ann and Jerry are outstanding hosts! I was a last minute arrival after 5pm. Ann entertained me and made sure I had a snack as she tucked me away in a beautiful room for the night. They are such gracious and hospitable people. If I'm ever in east Texas again, I will certainly seek them out. Ann- may all your dreams come true!

This was my first stay in a b&b and what a wonderful experience I had. The hosts, Jerry and Ann, were so welcoming and friendly. We arrived and because they had space, were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a better room than what I booked. It was perfect with a private exit directly to a covered porch, which I took advantage of regularly. The morning breakfast was delicious and very filling with fresh berries available. They had options for sugar free and gluten-free. We were made to feel like family and even had a golf cart to use. It was clean, comfortable, and for a weekend I was able to escape life and step back in time in this beautiful old home.

Stayed this past weekend at Claiborne house and enjoyed the stay so much! The owners are some of the friendliest people and the homemade biscuits and gravy were so good. The house itself is gorgeous and well taken care of and it's close to downtown Jefferson! Overall very good value.

This is an amazing historical house. Ann & Jerry were gracious hosts, above and beyond and nice people. Our room was incredibly beautiful and comfortable. They really decorated this place to the nth degree, in the period of the house, paying great attention to detail. There's a nice selection of old paintings, accents and classy flair throughout. Very accommodating, hospitable and good vibes. Cool friendly cats too! I would stay here again.

Very first time staying in a B&B for my husband and I first wedding anniversary and it was an unforgettable experience, we love the hosts Ann and Jerry! The home is so beautifully decorated and almost walking distance to the vintage downtown area. We came to experience the haunts and fell in love with the adorable stores and friendly locals.

My wife and I had a nice time staying at the Claiborne House, in Jefferson, Texas.||Anne and Jerry were great hosts - attentive and fun. Among the highlights were the ample, Southern breakfasts; the tour of and access to the entire, gorgeous home (including the permission to snoop); and the use of the golf cart to tour the town.||The home is a historic jewel, with a deep history in the town, and even featured in a book. It was quite a wonderful space, conducive to relaxation anywhere we wanted. ||Our hosts were really great to visit with. They were helpful with advice on local attractions, and life in the area.||In our visit there, we were able to relax, recover and revive. We would certainly visit again and recommend the Caiborne House to others.

Ann and Jerry were hospitable and interesting hosts. We made a last minute decision to stay in Jefferson on the first night of our travel. They had a room available and accommodated us. The house was clean and they offered a quick breakfast of cinnamon rolls and sausage so we could be on our way the next morning. Ann even packed up some of it for the road. There was only one other guest there so it was a quiet, peaceful stay. Ann and Jerry entertained us with lots of stories of the house's history as well as Jefferson's background and places to visit and eat.

First, Ann and Jerry are amazing hosts. They make you feel like old friends who have come to visit! They go 'over and above' to meet your needs. The house itself is a jewel. So many beautiful antique pieces are on display. Rooms are beautifully decorated but still welcoming, comfortable, clean, and homey. It is a great place for a weekend getaway. June & John Guthrie

Spent my birthday weekend here. It was beautiful!! Ann and Jerry were incredibly nice and welcoming. They made us feel very comfortable during our stay. I highly recommend staying here. This is our new favorite B and B to stay at. We will be back!

Jefferson Texas has a wide variety of b&b's to choose from. A few years back we discovered the Claiborne house and have made many trips to historic Jefferson since. In that time we've stayed at the Claiborne house every time. I cannot even begin to tell you how special Jerry and Ann are to us. The house is so beautiful, and the history is incredible - but you will be most impressed by the hospitality. Jerry and Ann have become lifelong friends and we absolutely love our time with them. The Claiborne house is more than a B&B. It's like a second home, it's like those awesome relatives you have that welcome you in with open arms and just love you to death. Historic Jefferson has many b&b's to choose from, but the Claiborne house will always have a special place with us. Their door is always open, and Jerry and Ann always greet us with huge smiles. Honestly can't wait to go back!

Wife of the house was extremely rude... We stopped in to rent a room around 9:30 and spoke with Jerry who was very friendly and cordial. We made a deal on a room and went to pick up my friends son. We were 30 minutes away when the wife called and told us very rudely that we would wake up the whole house and that they don't stay up all night waiting on guests AFTER WE CONFIRMED WITH THE HOST IF OUR PLANS. I am livid. We were planning on renting the whole place out for my friends birthday.. I am extremely disappointed in this establishment.. it's haunted with a bad attitude. We were profiled and discriminated against and we do not take this lightly..

There are two sides to this review. First the accommodations aspect. The room was comfy, the jetted tub was awesome, access to the porch from our room was fantastic and having a golf cart to ride around town on was very nice! The second aspect has to do with the owners. They are nice and funny, but they are also more like your crazy aunt and uncle who you go to visit once every few years, and once your arrive you realize why it's been awhile. If you want privacy and quiet, this is not your place. If you like a B&B that feels like a business with neighbors and friends coming and going, slamming screen doors and loud conversations until 11:00 PM every night, this is your place! Neil Simon could write a kooky one act play from the experiences we had during our three day stay. Overall, we loved our stay, but experienced a little more "entertainment" from the characters who frequent this House than we would have liked. We would liken our visit to staying with family, rather than being in a place where we paid to be pampered a bit. So the room itself gets a 5, the interaction with the owners and neighbors gets a 3. 4 for the average of the two together.

Awesome experience. Enjoyed good company in the kitchen and the formal dining room. Great owners who spend a lot of time entertaining guests. Interesting people who have done an unsurpassed job of decorating with amazing antiques. We'll be back!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in the Browning Room. Jerry and Ann rolled out the red carpet for us. The room is gorgeous and has a beautiful private porch and private entrance. They also decorated our golf cart and it was the talk of the town. Ann makes cakes and candles and she baked us a chocolate cake, to die for, and gave us a candle, also to die for. The couple that stayed the night before were celebrating their 50th anniversary and left us a personal note. The rose arrangement, which Ann does as well, was extraordinary. The decor throughout the home is fantastic and Ann told us the story behind many pieces. The bed was so comfortable and towels and robes super soft and cozy. The breakfast were the best. I had to get Ann's secrets for eggs and waffles. We felt at home and extremely special. Already plan to go back for our anniversary and maybe during some special event times.

Hidden Gem! My husband and I road travel a lot and have stayed in many Bed and Breakfasts. This is by far the best we have experienced. We stayed 3 nights over a weekend. The service was perfect! The rooms are traditionally what a Historical B&B should be and then some. This place goes above and beyond. It is the little touches here that make all the difference from the towel swans to the poetry quotes on the wall, quality linens, comfortable beds, turn down service, filtered water for your coffee. The fresh made cookies available 24hrs to accomodate the midnight snack attack. They have thought of EVERYTHING! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. You are left in peace to enjoy your room and the wrap araound porch and porch swing but you know that anyything you need is made available to you. The breakfast was faulous on each morning. I would call this gourmet breakfast food. The raspberry soup was amazing. Banana stuffed french toast with pecan crust, Southwest breakfast Souffle...I could go on but it's making me Hungry and wanting to return! If you want to venture out and explore the piney wooded area of Texas this is the place to stay!
