This restaurant is inside the Golden Nugget. It doesn't seem to be a GN-type restaurant.
GN is relatively upscale, especially for Downtown. This place is good and the waitresses are likable but they're more like waitresses you would expect to find at Orleans--or in an episode of Mel's Diner.
When our waitress was ready to take our order, she ignored our conversation and interrupted with, "Know what you want?"
It was funny to me. And my friend Chris (met him for first time after being poker friends online for years) just rolls with whatever all the time (why we get along).
I'm not writing this because I didn't like the waitress. I think she was cool. I'm writing it because you might not like the waitress. Since there is potential for that, the question becomes: Does the food make up for it?
That's a tricky question because the food is similar to the waitress. I don't mean the scrambled eggs look like the waitress's face. For you to even think that is rude. I mean that the quality of the food is parallel to the service.
For example, if someone asked you, "Hey. What do think about the service at Claim Jumpers?"
You might not say: "Kind of like scrambled eggs--well done." But you might say, "Pretty good. Not amazing, but you know what you're going to get."
And let's not forget about orange juice. It didn't cost $6 like the OJ you find on The Strip (or Circa).
I recommend Claim Jumpers. Not Highly but recommended nevertheless.
