Was walking through the sunset and stumbled upon this deli. The menu is in the back wall of the store. I did a build my own, turkey on wheat with the works. Pretty good sandwich! The customer service was great and the store was well stocked with basic goods ( soda, water, some house hold items, etc). Big plus, this is a neighborhood dog hang. You will see lots of dogs outside as you enjoy your sandwich. Eat here.

Google
They make an absolutely MEAN prosciutto sandwich. I’m super picky and requested meats and cheese only on their BOSS sandwich, and the first bite I took was just absolutely deliciousness. I also subbed the bread for a sweet French roll and it was the PERFECT combo. This is a legit deli and you’ll agree once you step in.

Jeff Ho

Google
They put the deli in delicious. I'm a huge fan of liquor store sandwiches. Clancey's did not disappoint. I had their "Sunset Special", turkey, roast beef, bacon, American cheese on Dutch crunch $14 w/garlic mayo. Service was fast.

Google
I was walking back to my Airbnb and needed some lunch I came across this market/deli and judging by amount of people waiting around the deli counter I figured it had to be good. It was about a 15 minute wait but well worth it. I ordered a 'Mad Max' sandwich which was HUGE. My sourdough roll was fresh and crispy, with a huge amount of meat and toppings. Prices are reasonable too - $16 for my giant sandwich and a bag of chips

Google
Clancy’s is a local corner store with both a fairly extensive grocery store and a deli. They make a really gold Italian hoagie and breakfast sandwich with a dash of hot sauce on it.

Marina Tufts

Google
This place literally never disappoints! I always make sure to stop and get a sandwich here anytime I’m in the area! 10/10 recommend!

Google
Good spot for a quick grab of items for the park or beach. Came on a Sat afternoon to grab a couple sandwiches and chips. Sandwiches are made fresh and take 10min or so to make, the Cuban sandwich was a bit salty, albeit delicious. Lots of inventory with a variety of brands fit in a small store. Staff are very amicable.

Google
A great neighborhood deli spot for lunches or picnics.Sandwiches made to spec with choices of Boar's head meats, breads and other ingredients. Loads of drink, chip, cookie, and other sweets options. Clean and inviting atmosphere.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a hearty, satisfying deli sandwich that's perfect for on-the-go, this market is it. You'll order at the cash register, and expect the sandwiches to take about 15 minutes. What really sets them apart is their incredible sourdough bread. It was thicccc, but in the best way possible. It was able to hold all the wet goodness of the Mad max. Speaking of the sandwiches themselves, they are a meat lover's dream. Generously packed with perfectly seasoned, tender meats such as turkey, roast beef, or ham, each sandwich feels like a full meal. Whether you're grabbing a sandwich for a road trip or a quick lunch, these creations are sturdy enough to travel well, without compromising on quality or freshness. The combination of that amazing sourdough bread and loaded fillings makes it an easy, delicious option for anyone looking for a satisfying meal on the move. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a substantial, well-crafted deli sandwich. You can expect them to run about $14/each

Yelp
We love coming to Clancey's Deli! Pretty much every weekend we stop by for a Raging Cajun & tuna sandwich. We also stop by during the week for fun drinks and beer. Everyone who works there is so friendly and kind. They also have great breakfast sandwiches for $5 in the mornings. Thank you Clancey for being a staple establishments in the neighborhood!!

Yelp
Yummy! I drive by this place everyday living in the hood but this is my first time going in and not my last! They have everything, if you're in need of laundry detergent, chocolate chips for baking, alcohol for the park like me or a delicious deli sandwich, this is the spot. I have been craving a good sourdough roll with a chew and they have it! I got the sunset sandwich, that hit the spot! And I found funky flavor Funyuns that are good!

Thania M.

Yelp
Clancy's market and deli is nestled in the Sunset district by Golden Gate Park, and Ocean Beach. We had the best deli sandwiches on San Francisco's own amazing sourdough rolls. Parking is a little difficult but it's the City, met the owner Barbara. Great experience from the time we ordered our food with Barbara and she brought out our sandwiches. They have a few tables right outside to enjoy your deli sandwich.

Cidney L.

Yelp
So good! Close 5 stars. Just wish they would've toasted the Dutch crunch bread I got! Expected it to be cause the Swiss cheese was melted. Next time just gotta remember to ask.

Christian B.

Yelp
Don't come hungry because the wait time is ridiculous. What's further insulting is you're asked to stand outside while you wait 20 mins for a sandwich, as merchant must worried about theft. Either sell your booze or be a deli - decide. Might consider moving tables inside & giving up some of that inventory that probably isn't moving anyway. Your message is loud & clear.

Shmike Z.

Yelp
Good Deli. A few different sandwich options and good market. My favorite sandwich from the deli is the Black and Blue which is a blackened turkey sandwich with blue cheese. I've had a few other options and everything was good. They don't accept EBT which is kind of a bummer. My Friend was looking to grab some water and snacks for our trip to Golden Gate Park and ended up choosing another store to save a few dollars.

Amie T.

Yelp
Best sammich ever! I just moved around the corner, they're going to be seeing A LOT of me! Awesome grocery section, lots of stuff for pets which was a nice surprise and a really good selection of cold drinks. But seriously, the sammich...

Cole C.

Yelp
Great service and friendly staff, a real local spot, a 'must go' when in SF. Bodega vibes and great food.

Madison N.

Yelp
Great local sandwich spot in the Outer Sunset. Call ahead to place an order. Both the dutch crunch and sourdough rolls are amazing. There are a couple tables outside where you can eat or walk down to the beach! Decent prices and great quality, will certainly be returning.

Abe L.

Yelp
I love Clancy's. The sandwiches are bigger than your head and they do not skimp on the innards. I always order ahead just in case cause sometimes there's a line. It's a very neighborhood feel and definitely my go to when jonesing for a good sandwich.

Kevin O.

Yelp
Small neighborhood gem! Great Deli! Great breakfast sandos! Most importantly a great crew of people working there!

Jess A.

Yelp
TLDR: This place does more than amazing sandwiches. And they do amazing sandwiches, which you are ALLOWED to have input on. Just saying. Clancy's does "human authenticity" like few places in this city (are still able to) do. NYC bodega, local family spot, "we got you, say less" kind of space. The quality of their ingredients, dedication to consistency, and willingness to stock what their community needs is unprecedented to me. I know their food is excellent, and I always trust what I purchase there, from toilet paper to Brie. Mostly because I've watched the owner, his wife, and the staff talk to their vendors, train new staff, and listen to customers for nearly a decade. They offered safety and support to people with food insecurity during covid, they have stayed after-hours for local planned and unplanned events (usually as the only local option), and they leave room for humanity. My Clancy's Translator: "What can I get you? (we love you, please talk fast) Oh the Fire Starter? (hold on while I ask you a bunch of other questions because we have a business model that prioritizes your preferences-even if it means things can take longer during a rush), Got it-anything else? (thank you, and now respectfully move your body aside so I can feed more people...and also I have to go give this local dog a biscuit outside because he knows that I'm working and I can't explain how he knows that)." Try the sandwiches, browse the new "shelf" finds (freeze dried candy?), and come back when you need some neighborhood carb-focused dog watching.

Art V.

Yelp
Live around the corner and couldn't ask for anything more from a corner store/deli. Great crew working in there and they always know everyone who comes in. Sandwiches are amazing and consistent. Food and booze selection is perfect for the size of the place. Prices are fair and it's always super clean. Feels like a bit of a lovely sunset timewarp when you go in. Like it could be 1940 or 1980 and it would all just be humming along same as it ever was. Keep it up folks and thanks for taking care of us!

Monica C.

Yelp
Love this place! Friendly service and a great selection especially for a little corner store. Great sandwiches too!!!

David N.

Yelp
They try to hustle you for a tip at checkout, no grocery store has any business doing this, most people will decline but the elderly and people with limited English skills are going to get tricked into tipping.

Marti M.

Yelp
Sandwiches are the best ever ! Service is so welcoming love the ambiance ! I will definitely good again and again !!!!

Erik J.

Yelp
I didn't realize the deli had closed shortly before I arrived but they were nice enough to still make me two sandwiches. Good sandwich too, especially for the price.

Laura K.

Yelp
They always have what I want plus the staff are soooo nice! They regularly give my kiddos free treats. Thank you clancey's!

Bubba H.

Yelp
Great sandwiches! Convenient store in our neighborhood, friendly service. Our favorite place in the 'hood for sandwiches.

Kenny C.

Yelp
Nice discovery! First off...the market is super clean & immaculate! The Owner I presume...he was very nice, approachable & professional Sandwich was delicious! Sourdough Roll was on point. I think I got my sandwiches within 7 mins after ordering it! (Thursday, March 25, 2021)

Yelp
I really think this place is average. I've read the other reviews and everyone seems to love this place so much raving about their sandwiches, but there isn't any wow factor to their sandwiches. It's really just meat between bread. I came with a friend maybe around 12PM on a weekday. We were looking for something quick since we were on our bikes and needed portable food. We saw a small line for this place so we gave it a shot. I walked in and wanted to order two breakfast sandwiches to which the man behind the counter told me, "nope we're not making those, only sandwiches." I was a little confused because there's no time written anywhere that says breakfast sandwiches end after a certain time, but hey maybe they're just really busy making sandwiches and don't want to be bothered cooking something? I stepped out of line to look at the menu again and decided on a the Sunset Special since they were only serving sandwiches today. I forgot what my friend ordered, but it was either the Ruben or Manhattan and for whatever reason his super simple sandwich took more than 45 minutes to make. We literally watched a whole line of people after us order and receive all their sandwiches before my friend's sandwich was done. I really don't get what took so long as there's only around 3-4 ingredients in either sandwich, but the fact that we almost spent an hour for it was really disappointing. We end up bringing our sandwiches to the beach to eat and mine was slathered with mayo. I don't like mayo, however, I don't mind it if its already on something, but this sandwich had so much on it that I had to wipe off the excess with a napkin. To add on to this, the sourdough bread was stale or something because it was so hard to eat and chew as I gnawed on this hard rock. I still ate it since I paid for it, but wow it lowered the bar for me. If you're looking for a sandwich place I'd recommend going up Irving Street to Handy Deli.

Anabel A.

Yelp
The sandwiches are delicious, but the three men working there need to work on their customer service skills. They are very rude when taking your order. I went yesterday Saturday and ordered a sandwich. A bold man took my order and was very rude as if I wasn't going to pay for it. I hope they can work on this because the food is really good and would like to return but as a paying customer it is uncomfortable to be treated so rude. Im giving them 3 stars because the sandwich was really good.

Robert J.

Yelp
Excellent Cubano. Nice market with tables seats outside. Kind of a Sopranos Satralies Deli type of feel. Cool.

Miguel E.

Yelp
Great classic sandwiches I know I'll be coming here to try their full menu. This outter sunset gem defines all the great ways to having a classic deli place in the city! I order the Barbie which is a classic turkey pesto, with cheese and cranberry sauce! All this tuck in a Dutch crunch roll! This place has it all from the sandwiches to the different soft drinks they have right around the corner! If you're around town make the time to stand in line! You won't regret it!

Tori W.

Yelp
Very unassuming outside but they make great deli sandwiches, and I love that they never skimp on the fillings so it's always fully loaded up! The menu sandwiches are a mix of both classics and fun and creative combinations like the Barbie's delight with cranberry and pesto

Sharon B.

Yelp
After our walk at Lands End, we wanted sandwiches and saw this place rated well. I chose the Fire Starter with a French roll. The Fire Starter had spicy cheese, jalapenos, pickles, turkey and other stuff and my first bite was Dee-lish. I was super happy with my choice and I got full after the half. The other half was just as delicious when I ate it later for dinner. Nice neighborhood spot with all the candy, chips, drinks and everything you look for in a deli. There's a bench right outside so it was a perfect place to sit and eat.

Trev P.

Yelp
An excellent neighborhood market with delicious deli sandwiches. They have a good beer, wine and liquor selection and quality food/home essentials if you don't feel like making a trip to the supermarket.

Wayne W.

Yelp
Went to the sandwich place down the street fora hoagie, only to find it overrun by millennials. My son said let's go to Clancey's. I was hungry. Got the Cubano special. I'm planning to go back tomorrow for another one.

Charlotte S.

Yelp
Sandwiches are delicious! Rest of store is over priced but that is a classic SF convenience store. That said, the staff is SO rude. Not sure if they just absolutely hate their jobs or just never learned manners but every time I go in there, I feel like I am a huge inconvenience. I don't need someone to be overly friendly by any means but the guys taking orders and making sandwiches are legitimately rude, dismissive, and will scoff at you if you hesitate or ask questions about an order. One of the guys in there handed someone their sandwich and started laughing at the name for the order, tried to say it 2 times, then said "or whatever you want to call yourself". Again, I'm not asking for overly friendly fake service, just appalled by how rude these guys are every time I walk in here. The goal is to get in and out as quick as possible.

Shannon M.

Yelp
OG spot in the outer sunset. Call in your sandwiches orders for a smoother and seamless experience. Quality sandwiches Build your own or order what's on the board!

Yelp
These sandwiches are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced! On my way to the beach and wanted to grab a sandwich while I lounged by the ocean. I was not disappointed! I tried the turkey sandwich with all the topping on a soft French roll. This place also has anything else you would want if your headed for a picnic to golden gate park or the ocean. I highly recommend you giving them a try. Looking forward to trying some of the other sandwiches on the menu!

Yelp
Wow, I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. I ordered a sandwich a few days ago by phone. The owner, a man picked up and took my order. It's a Mad Max on Dutch Crunch with everything on it. I came in, my sandwich was ready and the lady at the counter asked, "Mad Max?" I said, yes, paid and drove off. It wasn't until I got back to work that I found out that they made me a Big Boss instead that was soggy from all the Italian Dressing. I call them back and told them they made me a wrong sandwich. The lady picked up the phone was flustered and didn't know what to do. She said sorry and that they have a new guy who probably made me the wrong sandwich. Then she told me that owner wasn't around and took down my phone number and said the owner will call me back and fix the problem. I throw the sandwich away because I don't like italian dressing. A couple days later, I called back and a lady picked up the phone. I explained the situation again and she offered to make me a new sandwich. I said ok, and went to pick it up. Here is where things got crazy. The owner slammed the sandwich on the counter and told me that people makes mistakes and to not be rude to his workers. I was flabbergasted. I said, "Wait, how was I rude to your workers?" He asked the lady worker, "He never said to you? "Make my sandwich right next time?"" The lady never said anything so I told him no, I never said that. He said, never mind, slammed the sandwich on the counter and said you can take the sandwich and go. I told him I don't want the sandwich then. I was furious. I didn't make the mistake, I was polite and and informed them of their mistake but someone pretend that I said something and now, I'm the bad guy. I commend the owner for trying to stand up for his worker but I'm afraid that the worker in this case lied about what happened to make themselves look good. It would have been better had the owner gotten my side of the story before passing judgement on his customer.

Roshni G.

Yelp
Stumbled across this gem while waiting for a Lyft after Bay to Breakers. All size of us got full sandwiches chip and sodas. They were all bomb and hit the spot. Great, friendly service too!

Misha T.

Yelp
A good but not mindblowingly good sandwich. But the other thing Clancey's really has going for it is it's super close to the beach and super close to the park. In my opinion, these are two fairly ideal places to eat a sandwich. I had the raging cajun which sounded spicy but didn't really bring too much heat. If you're really into spicy food it'll probably be a little disappointing. But it's certainly flavorful. Also of note, the sandwiches here are pretty moderately sized. They're not huge (which is ok) so I wouldn't recommend splitting one.

Gabriel A.

Yelp
RIDICULOUSLY good cubano sandwich, hot coffee in the morning, and some selection that'll keep you coming in for something different. I really liked this place. Hidden gem in SF

Jess C.

Yelp
This is a great little corner store filled with all the necessary items and more. I love that they had a great selection of wines, ice creams, and candy. Plus, the manager / owner is great, and the community here is so friendly - everyone knows everyone! Unfortunately, I came for the sandwiches and while they were pretty solid and overall quite fresh, it really just made me miss Marina Subs pastrami avocado sub. If you're out here hiking Lands End or something, I would probably head to AK.

David D.

Yelp
Have been back countless times... Clancey's has become my favorite deli/convenience store in the Sunset, and maybe in the city. Food Amazing, fresh and very consistent. Try the breakfast sandwich for the win Facility Super, super clean, almost clinical, which is what i want from a place that serves food. no dirt, dust, or anything out of place. if you want dust stop at that place by the zoo there are bushels of it all over--i dont think they charge for it?? Staff Professional, nice and visibly into their job This place is the best, has easy parking during the day usually.... go

John M.

Yelp
Clancey's is a staple of The Sunset in SF. Used to come here as a high school student and always loved their sandwiches, both build your own and the pre-designed sandwiches as well. I typically build my own, but this time they were out of rolls, which I wanted Dutch Crunch, so I ordered up the 'Mad Max' with double meat!! I never eat a sandwich any more without double meat thanks to a friend. I enjoyed the sandwich however since they were out of rolls, the sliced bread couldn't hold up to the pressure put on by the meat. Before even eating the sandwich the bread crumbled and fell apart. I know this isn't the usual Clancey's and will rewrite a review when I go back soon.

Ali F.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches from this neighborhood corner store. I say to get their specialty sandwiches written on the board. I tried the Ruben (corned beef with sauerkraut) and the Barbie (turkey with pesto and cranberry) on dutch crunch bread and both were really good. The deli meats are Boar's Head brand. The location is convenient to get a meal and have a picnic at Ocean Beach or Golden Gate Park.

Stefanie C.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Fantastic market and deli with a neighborhood feel. I definitely see myself becoming a regular here, especially at the deli counter. They have an impressive selection of tasty-sounding sandwiches on the wall, made with Boar's Head ingredients. I have had both the Black and Blue and Mad Max sandwiches. Both were stuffed and filling. The cashier and deli counter workers are all very friendly too. Has a family-run feeling to it. Also a great place for some late night or early morning groceries, like if you forgot to buy milk or laundry detergent, or just need some snacks en route to a party or picnic. Clancey's Market has it all! And it's clear that its customers feel very comfortable here. Not much else to say except I'm glad I live nearby this place and look forward to trying more of their sandwiches and maybe even their salads!

Eva S.

Yelp
Clancy's is a wonderful and convenient locally owned corner store. The sandwiches are great and the staff is very friendly. Definitely worth checking out if it's not a Monday.

Michael S.

Yelp
Great neighborhood market with a nice selection of house made sandwiches with traditional and more interesting cold cut and cheese options.

Ken S.

Yelp
During COVID 19 I drop by and picked up some deli sandwiches and drinks. We headed to Golden Gate Park and had a nice picnic. The sandwiches were delicious.

Chris C.

Yelp
Pretty good sandwich. I fuck heavy with the Rodney. Get your drinks and chips somewhere else. The Gatorades are priced too high (big compliant) If you are just picking up a couple sandwiches. Call them in and slide 20 minutes later. They use quality ingredients and they are usually on point. Good stop for a nice sandwich. Slightly overpriced but usually very satisfying.

Randy C.

Yelp
Sandwiches are pretty good, BUT the deli closes at 5 o'clock. How many people are not even home from work yet at 5o'clock? We built our kids and grandkids up for this and now it's not available to them. DISAPPOINTING

Yvette R.

Yelp
Visited this placed a few weeks ago and the sandwiches were absolutely delicious. So here we are a few weeks later and back again out of Fresno California.
