There are many kinds of ice cream, and they also make a variety of milkshakes. I had the ube flavor. it wasn’t too sweet and tasted really good. You could even feel bits of ube in it. The gelato was super chewy and dense. It’s the best gelato I’ve had in the U.S. There’s no seating, so I ate it in the car. Highly recommend!

It was a reminder that even small pleasures, taken with intention, can uplift the spirit. The staff, steady and courteous, performed their task with quiet diligence. The environment was clean, unhurried, and peaceful—a fine place to rest briefly from the world’s noise. Let others chase novelty; I found contentment in a single scoop. That is enough.

Delicious! So happy when I walked in and saw peach cobbler in the menu! Also added a scoop of blueberry cheesecake. Love a good chunky ice cream! Can’t wait to come back and try other flavors!

It's an amazing place for ice cream, it has lots of different flavors and it great portions with reasonable prices. I got the root bear swirl 1 scoop and it tastes like actual root beer! of course im happy 😊

We were very impressed with the quality of the ice-cream. Creamy and delicious. All it's missing is a sitting area. With kids, it is hard to take it to go.

I went at 930pm, and the line was long. I waited about 25 mins, but it was so worth it. I asked for a banana split with pralines and cream and cookies and cream, caramel, fudge, nuts, whip cream and even asked for a waffle cone. They don't allow you to tip on credit card so make sure to bring cash for tip because the staff deserves it, they work so hard

Large portion sizes, decent taste, and friendly staff. However, they had the audacity to not offer samples… a quintessential requirement for an ice cream parlor in my opinion. As a consequence I ended up with a flavor I did not enjoy. There is also no seating and no nearby place to go once you have the ice cream. This is an honest review.

The best local ice cream shop! I'm an ice cream lover and this place never disappoints. The servings are so generous (like seriously, my picture is a double scoop ice cream!). I've been here a couple of times but recently, I went on a hot day so there was a line out the door. The line went by pretty fast and I was able to enjoy my double scoop of ice cream and got a tub of ube ice cream to go for my family. I highly recommend the ube ice cream! Being Filipino, I'm super picky when it comes to ube, but this place does it right. Glad to have this place nearby!

I've been going to this ice cream place since I can remember! 20+ years! The vibes have not changed one bit! I can proudly say the quality and quantity of the ice cream has been 100% consistent! Came here on a Saturday evening and it was packed. Line moved rather quickly and I ordered a tub of mango ice cream, a pint of coffee ice cream, and a scoop of watermelon sherbet! All of the ice cream was fresh and delicious! It's so good to see the store owner run this place with his family now. Please keep this ice cream place forever!!

As usual, no parking. For once, there was no line out the door. Instead, there were two numb nuts bringing progress to a halt by asking to sample practically every single flavor before they ordered. There was one employee working but then the boss lady came out and helped us. One Chocolate Shake and one Banana Shake. Our cups were filled to the top and the excess in the tins were given to us in little plastic cups. Great shakes are worth waiting for and Clancy's is pretty consistent.

You really can't get more "neighborhood" for an ice cream parlor than Clancy's. Small, unassuming, strip mall, no seats, plenty of ice cream eaters that seem to be locals that frequently visit. When you walk in, you'll appreciate the local vibes and the selection of classic ice cream flavors, along with original takes and seasonal flavors. Giving you the choice to just order classic scoops to sundaes, they'll have something for everyone's tastes. Two things to note: 1. If you order two scoops, you can do 3 flavors. I guess they'll do 1/2 scoop and 1/2 scoop and 1 scoop. 2. There are no seats inside. Get your ice cream and eat outside. Definitely a place to check out if you're in the neighborhood and craving some ice cream.

$5 for this huge "1 scoop" Yes I said it, 1 scoop! The cool thing about this place is that they don't want you to waste ice cream. They have a little sign saying you can split your 1 scoop to try 2 different flavors with it! No way!!! This place is a great mom n pop style. The servers are sooooo nice too! Clean place!

Ice cream was already melting sitting inside the coolers. There was a long line so on a Saturday night but it was moving fairly quickly. I got a sundae with two scoops -heath bar and pralines and cream. The server gave us the older melted ice cream and gave us a lot of chocolate syrup when we asked for a drizzle. Sundae was cheap but would not go back. Ice cream was similar to dreyers you can get at Safeway.

Tried the San Leandro Cherry Jubilee Sundae and the Shamrock Sundae. Will be back again to try the other sundaes. Service was alright since there was a line outside. Limited parking and hard to tell where the line is since the space is pretty tight.

Holy moly their scoops are GENEROUS. They have a pretty large selection of ice cream. I ordered a single scoop of the raspberry in a cup and it's literally the size of 4 scoops. I found my favorite ice cream shop!

I've been coming here for about 2 years. The staff are always helpful and patient. This time we went, the line was out the door but the service was still very friendly. I love that their scoops are very generous! They have a lot of flavors as well. There's a flavor for everyone. I got a 3 scoop banana split this time. All the flavors were good: strawberry, brownie a la mode, and matcha.

Can you believe this whole thing was $8?! I definitely was not expecting three scoops of EACH ice cream when I ordered three scoops in a cup I thought i was just going to get one scoop of each flavor, but I stood there with a pikachu face when she pulled out this container! AMAZING DEAL!! Taste just as good as well! The line literally went out the door when we went on a weekday

I happened to stumble upon Clancy's because I was craving a milkshake and this was the closest place nearby. There was a bit of a line, but it intotal I probably waited for about ten minutes max. The person at the counter was very helpful and answered any questions I had about the flavors and milkshake consistency. I also liked the paintings inside. I had a milkshake with strawberries and cream and brownie a'la mode ice cream (not pictured). They were very generous with the serving size which was a plus. I really enjoyed it and definitely plan on returning if I'm ever in the area.

I'm a regular at the 7eleven next door and I don't know why I never tried Clancy's Ice Cream sooner. Finally gave it a try and it did not disappoint. Single scoops are HUGE and at a reasonable price. Limited edition and seasonal flavors are nice because you'll always have something new to try aside from the regular flavors. Residents are lucky to live at walking distance. Crazy lines go out the door on weekends and weekdays is empty and a good time to satisfy your cravings.

Have been going here ever since i was a kid. Would love walking here from my great grandmas house down the street, then walking to the manor park back in the days. Haven't been here in years, until i passed by the other day & decided to stop by! Makes me happy to see the same guy still working there & that not much has changed. Definitely gives you an old school type of vibe & brings back so much nostalgia. Did not take any pictures inside to respect the privacy & unfortunately did not take any pictures of the ice cream, but my scoop of strawberry ice cream in the original cone definitely still tasted the same as the times i remember it! If you're ever passing by, please stop by for a good conversation over a scoop. They are all super friendly so make sure to give a kind tip for being open this long!

Clancy's is a local favorite and I can see why. The scoops are generous and the flavors are amazing! My recent favorites have been butter brickle and young coconut. I love that the young coconut has real coconut in it. They also have some unique flavors like mango and taro. My husband loves their taro. Their milkshakes are also very good. I recently learned that you can do a split scoop for their single scoop! One scoop is very generous!!!! The workers are pretty nice. Lines go by quickly. Every person can try two flavors before ordering. Highly recommend to stop by if you're in the area!

We used to come here all the time, and bring our friends. It has been a while, but as we were entertaining today, and I wanted my guest to sample their ice cream. I really like the remodel they finished in April. The place looks bigger, brighter, and cleaner. Quality/Quantity - Strawberry & Vanilla - Yeah, my guest is very basic and played it safe. Marbled Black Raspberry & Chocolate Fantasy - My daughter's favorite, she ate this so fast that I could not take a picture... Also merchandise for sale, see picture. Atmosphere - Small local ice cream business. Very popular in the community and surrounding communities. Cool decor and remodel. Take out business only. Open 6 days a week from noon to 10pm. Service - This is where they FAILED. I guess they have a two sample limit? We were going to buy for 4 people. But after my first sample, he WARNED me that my second sample was my last... Which would have been fine if there were some signs or earlier warnings. I do not remember a two sample limit in the past...? The good news is that you have so many good unique flavors, it's hard to decide. Especially since it has been a while since we have been here. The bad news is that I did not like the two samples I was given, so I was not going to take a chance on buying something I would NOT like. Loss of additional $10 sale due to the 2 sample limit. Oh, can I suggest posting a sign, or training your team to word this warning better? He left a bitter taste in my mouth. Price - $9.40 on two single scoop ice creams. Would of/could of/should of been a 4 scoop sale. Expensive for two single scoops that we did not enjoy due to the poor service. Owner Comment - Is this the same ownership as 10+ years ago What happened to the very nice older gentleman owner? I look forward to coming back to a much more positive experience.

Best ice cream in SL hands down. I've been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Small little mom and pop shop with a large variety of flavors ranging from ube to matcha to your classics like rocky road, mint chip and cookie dough. Most recently came with a larger group and the staff was so patient in helping with our order. There were two staff members that helped get us through our orders. Honestly can't wait til our next visit.

Huge portions as you can see in the photos. Excellent value and bang for your buck. The two flavors I had were very good. Staff was very friendly and offered to sample flavors before buying! Definitely worth a visit.

The PIÑA COLADA... im thinking about you... decadent coconut with tasty pineapple bits. I paired it with the ube and it was also yummyyyy but I was craving more of the piña colada. I love ice cream shops with an array of unique flavors and this place is exactly that. Make sure you know what you're getting into when you choose a size because they are generous with the scoops! This might've been a kids size (I forgot sorry)

Clancy's is an unassuming ice cream shop tucked behind the Floresta plaza and right next to a 7-11. It's the quintessential spot after a slice at Porky's or a bowl of pho from George at Saigon House. Definitely a San Leandro staple and my go-to whenever I have a sweet-tooth. From first glance, it doesn't look like an ice cream shop, but you'll quickly learn that Clancy's serves up not pots, but tubs of gold. That's what their ice creams are...golden. They have an array of flavors and specials to choose from and they never skimp on the scoops -- whether you get a cup or a cone, it's loaded with a generous heaping of ice cream. My personal favorites are the banana walnut and tin roof. The banana flavor comes through nicely and is an absolute must. Service is always top notch too. They are fast, friendly, and keep the long lines moving. Prices are pretty affordable as well.

Yelp says I wrote my review over 9 years ago! It's about time for an update! Clancys is really your friendly neighborhood ice cream shop. I've come here since I was a kid and now I'm bringing my own kids here. My son is allergic to dairy so I love how they have dairy free options for him as well so he isn't left out. All of the flavors are delicious but my favorites have got to be tin roof, mint chocolate chip, and UBE. I've tried ube ice cream from other locations but something about Clancy's is really different. They updated their decor, and it's all looking super cute. Definitely check it out and support local! The staff is family run and they are so friendly!

A nice family owned local ice cream place that serves good ice cream, sherbet, and sorbets. They have a lot of classic flavors, and they have seasonal and limited flavors. The portions are very generous, and the price is super reasonable. They allow you to sample their flavors. Tonight, we went out of our comfort zone and tried a couple of new flavors. Chocolate Fantasy: Chocolate ice cream smiled with fudge and chocolate chunks. Very creamy and decadent. A chocolate lover's dream! Wife loved this and is now her favorite! Maui Wowie: Passionfruit, Orange, and Guava sherbet. Bright colors, which reminded me of shaved ice. It was tart and refreshing. Beware, it does color your tongue. LOL. I enjoyed it. We called to see what time they close and the person on the phone was super sweet, friendly, and nice. When we got there, all of them were friendly and treated all their customers respectfully and joyfully.

This ice cream shop has a nostalgic place in my heart. When I was a kid, every time we had a basketball game and we were coming back home, we would stop by this place and grab some ice cream. Great memories. This place has stayed the same since! A small interior that has over 25+ flavors. They have everyday flavors and also offer seasonal flavors as well. Every time I'm driving past the San Leandro area, I can't help myself and stop by. No matter what flavor I get, the ice cream is always sweet, creamy, and very satisfying! The staff are very nice and patient with you too as they let you try some flavors since there are so many. Cant wait to come back soon!

Clancy's has it all! Low prices, wide variety, generous serving sizes, and excellent ice cream. I feel like finding single scoops of ice cream for under $5 has become rare nowadays. Not only does Clancy's do it for $4.70, but they give a ton of ice cream per single scoop--basically two scoops. They also allow half scoops, so we all ordered single scoops but got two flavors each. This was awesome because they have so many good flavors and I would have felt so much more pressure to just choose one. We also tried some samples to help narrow down which flavors we wanted to commit to. Toasted almond has been and will probably always be my favorite and go-to flavor. It's the perfect sweetness and has the best almond taste, with bits of nut as well. Service was quick and patient. Each party moved very quickly through the shop. Haven't been here in forever and am very glad to be back. I'll definitely make an effort to return soon.

So glad this ice-cream parlour is open late for dessert. I've been a customer of Clancy's for a while now and they've never let me down. The portions are SUPER generous and pretty cheap too. If you're in between flavors they even offer a split scoop. Great place to grab dessert! Just be mindful there isn't a lot of parking at the front of the shop and the parlour doesn't offer indoor seating. Taking your ice-cream to go doesn't take away from the fact their ice-cream is delicious!

Food: 4/5 - Brownie A La Mode & Health Bar Crunch This place was pretty solid! $6 for a generous double scoop. They also had a lot of different favors like Matcha & monthly specials. Tried this bc my friend said it's a Bay Area Staple. Ambiance: no seating! It's a quick pick up and go spot next to 7/11 Service: Good! Let me try two samples.

After 5 years, Clancy's still has the same great quality and generous portions! Still walk out with a single scoop sundae (with butter pecan and black raspberry swirl). But now never leave without also getting a few 1.75 quarts of ice cream too. Also a new fave - chocolate fantasy!

If it weren't for Yelp, I don't think I would have found Clancy's but am I glad I did! This small ice cream parlor is your definition of a hole in a wall - it's a gem located in an unassuming lot. Not a whole lot of parking right in front but it's usually free and if not, the mall next door has plenty of space. In fact, if you happen to eat lunch or dinner there (quite a few options), Clancy's is the perfect dessert spot afterward. The interior is small; there isn't a whole lot of space for you to dine in. There is a side of the store that happens to display some collectibles for purchase. The ice cream is creamy, flavorful, and abundant! You'll have plenty of flavor options for ice cream and sherbet. Aside from standard scoops, they also make sundaes, floats, and milkshakes. Each time I've gone, waffle single scoop has been plenty to satisfy my sweet tooth and ice cream cravings. So far, coffee almond fudge and burgundy cherry have been my favorites. But don't just trust my word for it, make a visit and feast your eyes and tastebuds to an old fashioned ice cream experience. The staff are friendly and patient. You'll have the opportunity to taste a few flavors so see if you can find a favorite or two...or more!

A place so nice, I gotta review it twice. Clancy's is one of those local staples that I will always support and keep going back to because I never want them to close. I have been going to Clancy's since the days when my dad would take me there after school. Since then, it's been a go to for me. I'd go with my friends whenever we wanted to hang out and get some ice cream in high school or college. I go there now on quick ice cream dates with my fiancé. And I'll def be taking my future kids here. While the prices have gone up slightly to meet inflation, their portion size makes it worth it. They are generous! The prices are on par with other ice cream shops and you get more bang for your buck. And not only that, the family who owns and runs Clancy's are always so kind. After so many years, the shop is going through a remodel right now. They're still open while they remodel. Can't wait to see what the new Clancy's will look like!

I love this place!! It's such a cute small hole in the wall ice cream place. I hear it's been here since forever. The owner is super nice! A lot of ice cream flavors and the scoops are generous! We play it safe and get mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream but they have all your classic flavors and more! I really like this place more than Loard's ice cream. It's surrounded by a lot of restaurants so it's a great treat afterwards.

Loved their mint oreo flavor! It tastes like real mint! The customer service was also great, but the best part is the pricing!! They gave HUGE scoops for such a great price!

This spot doesn't look like much from the outside, but has SUCH good ice cream inside! I would say its easily on par, and potentially better, than my favorite ice cream spot of all time and that's saying a lot. Since it was my first time here I was only able to get two flavors, but if I lived closer to the area I would definitely be a frequent visitor. This time I opted for the brownie a la mode and the oreo mint crunch. The oreo mint was absolutely perfect! Strong minty flavor with plenty of oreo pieces swirled in which I love. The brownie a la mode was really unique, with a few brownie chunks, chocolate ice cream, and some other flavor that I think was vanilla but tasted slightly different? Not sure, but it was really good too. Also, the portion sizes here are MASSIVE. For a single scoop, I literally got a whole cup which is like the equivalent of a double or even triple at other spots. Prices are also super reasonable. Highly highly recommend!

This is my go-to spot in San Leandro for ice cream. I always look forward to trying their seasonal flavours and this time it was the peach cobbler and it was delicious! You can even taste the bits of peaches in it. They give you lots for one scoop too.

SUCH GOOD ICE CREAM!!! They have soo many different flavors and their scoops are pretty big. I want to try so many of their flavors because they just had so many I liked within their selection. Definitely try it if you are in the area.

We had these for dessert! I didn't know about this place but my mom recommended it so we came to try. There is enough parking for people coming since some guest come and go from the stores beside this place. The outside didn't look much but will for sure keep making you want to visit from the taste of their ice cream. The portions are huge and really worth your money. A lot of flavors to choose from, it was hard to decide but if you ask to try some flavors... they will let you. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! They are friendly to customers too!

Our fave ice cream spot. We usually get the quart size to bring home and share with family but today, I wanted two flavors in a cup. I got the pineapple coconut and the black Cherry ice cream. It's always soft and creamy with pieces of fruits all over. So good!

My wife and I patronize Clancy's regularly. Tonight they ran out of cups. So they used coffee cups instead. Let's just stay, the normal quantity for a single scoop was embarrassing. Barely filled the cup. Yikes. Let's just say if they run out of cups or items to serve their ice cream, please reduce your prices.

I enjoyed going into this place because it was a very old historical building there were so many things in the building to see and I wish that certain parts of it were opened to the public or that they had made use of it somehow I definitely felt like it was an old style ice cream shop Ice cream was great and I definitely ate more than I should have a love to come back next time I come through this way. I remember there was great service. The parking was a little weird since there was a lot of roadblocks up.

Stumbled across this place while looking for a dessert option near our dinner restaurant. The place appeared to be under construction/renovation, but the staff were still very nice and allowed us to try several samples. Would enjoy coming back here to sample more. Their scoops are quite large so most people will be happy with a single.

This is the best ice cream in the Bay Area!! I've been going here for a couple years now. I live an hour away and I will literally drive all the way here to get the big quarts so I can keep it in my freezer. They have so many flavors to choose from and they frequently change their flavors to add new ones! My all time favorite is their spumoni but I always try different flavors when I go. Expect a line when you're there but I promise it will be worth it!!

Home made, family business since forever, and you some of the seasonal flavors have real fruit chunks (mango, lychee, black cherry). Prices are better than chains and they always give you way more than what fits in the bowl. I am not removing a star for decor, because this is a whole in the wall, where you do not even have space to sit inside, so love it, because of the ice cream.

In summer season my favorite is watermelon ice cream. I also like their vanilla and coconut banana split.

Growing up in the Manor, this place was such a staple. I have many happy, and bittersweet memories. From visiting as a child, to come here with my father to get ice cream as a pick me up after long weeks. More profoundly, we loved it when Mr.Clancy always said, "See you tomorrow". That was his signature phrase and I honestly kind of miss it! My boyfriend and I came by today, because I was craving bubblegum ice cream again. I always have, it's been over 25 years of loving bubblegum and I can never find another place that tastes quite like childhood. We both ordered one scoop, and I forgot to tell my boyfriend that their one scoops are huuuuge! Which is another fond memory of Clancy's. As a kid, you always want as much ice cream as you can get away with. Well having two scoops as one was that fond childhood memory. The price are great still, $3.70 for a 1 scoop which is actually 2 scoops. My family favorite flavor is Mango, as it actually has chunks of mango in it. My personal favorite is bubblegum, but they have a ton of other flavors.
