Clancy's Irish Pub

Excellent atmosphere, everyone is so friendly, and the food is delicious. It's got all the charm and warmth of a true Irish pub, and boasts FOUR bars. One of our very favorite places we've found in Colorado, and you can tell how many people feel the same with how many regulars they seem to have. We loved lingering at the bar and hanging out. Also, great happy hour deals & pricing in general. The Irish eggrolls were incredible. Check this gem out!

Walked in to to this classic Irish pub and was greeted immediately by Liz, the lovely bartender. Aside from being a stunning beauty, she went out of her way to make me comfortable and have a nice, friendly chat with me. I felt at home here from the moment I sat down at her bar. 5 stars for her! The Irish onion soup was fantastic. Recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood.

One of the most incredible service atmospheres I’ve been in a while! Minor hiccup with the food and they went above and beyond, the chef even came out and talked with us personally, over the top customer service and wonderful food. The fish and chips were wonderful and the bread pudding was life changing. Never tasted a dessert more comforting!!! 10000/10 would go again any time, any day.

This place has been consistently good over our last four visits. We had a minor hiccup with our food tonight and they were so attentive and over the top to make it right. The fish and chips are moist and perfectly fried, the Philly is savory and the bread pudding is warm and comforting. Excellent servers and really nice chef, Taz. Do yourself a favor and go there!

Moved to Wheat Ridge a month ago. And have been back here at least once a week since. Food is absolutely amazing. Atmosphere is really cool. Everyone is super nice. I will be here every Friday!

Had an absolutely divine time at Clancy’s. The vibes were immaculate — the food, the service, the staff, the customers — immaculate across the board. Walked in for a pint and left feeling like I’d found my new Irish pub family and a proper home away from home. I’m Irish, I’m from Philly, and I know a good Irish pub and good Irish food — and I’m also a picky Irish Virgo, so that’s saying something. The food was unreal, no notes. Everyone was friendly and up for a chat, staff and customers alike — exactly how an Irish pub should be. I’ll 100% be back for the live Irish music and the rugby matches — count on it. Long time Irish restaurant in Wheatridge. Plenty of menu options and very tasty food. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating indoors, outdoors, and in the bar areas. Ample parking. Friendly staff and cold brews, tasty cocktails and interesting decor all around. Live music and games on some nights. Reasonable prices and worth the stop every time. See for yourself.

Great Irish pub. Tasty food and drinks at reasonable prices. Atmosphere is unique and cozy. Service was good. The beef stew and green chili was delicious.

I was going back between 3 stars (fine) and 4 (pretty good/solid). I decided on 3 because of the flaws, but on a different visit I could absolutely go 4. Stopped in on what turned into a pretty busy Friday night, and the place is interesting to say the least. It's a converted old house, so all of the dining/bar areas are tucked into different rooms, around corners, up and down stairs. Ended up sitting at the bar in the first room. The bartenders were friendly, knew the regulars and their orders, and did their best with the rush. Oddly, there is a "seat yourself" policy, but because of the quirky layout that seems to involve wandering room to room, on multiple levels, until you find a spot. At one point, one of the bartenders was told there were no more seats, and she replied to the customer "Yeah, we might need to start a list. Try upstairs and we'll get to you." Later on, she said to the other bartender "I should check upstairs to see if I have any tables up there"- bad news for anyone seated up there. As far as the menu, it's pretty large and all over the place. I'd expected Irish staples and while they were there, I was surprised to see items like a falafel wrap, Buffalo wings, spinach-Artichoke dip, a shrimp basket, ribs... when I see a menu like that, I'm always prepared for pre-made food from some distributor and nothing special. Ended up getting the Shepherd's Fries, Beer Cheese Soup and Irish Castro (Irish spin on a Cuban). The fries were good, and the portion was MASSIVE. 3-4 people could easily split them as a large appetizer. The soup was pretty good, but nothing great, as was the Irish Castro. The one ding on the Castro is the pickles are huge, and pretty overpowering. All-in-all, it's a fun and kitschy place, and I see why the regulars come back. Decent food, friendly service, a little disjointed, but I would describe it as a good place to hang with some friends and catch a game. It's not really a traditional Irish Pub with yummy Irish staples.

My partner Chad and I come here so often that it's like our Cheers. But I guess it would be Sláinte in this context, haha! Most of the staff know up by site, if not by name, and they are usually a fun and friendly group. My regular drink order is a Car Bomb and a Jameson and Ginger, single, short with a lime. My food order varies, but I do love their fries, and their ranch dressing ain't bad either. The Falafel Wrap is really good for an Irish place. The Grilled Cheese is phenomenal, even without the bacon. The Beer Cheese soup is also excellent without the bacon, actually. They also have White Bean Chili that is vegetarian (vegan possible), which I have tried but found too spicy for my taste. They also have Seitan Wings... I love them and get them often, but they are more like seitan nuggets than wings. Easier to eat though IMO. Chad's had many of the meatier fare, but he'd have to tell his own story on that subject. For dessert, the Bread Pudding is to DIE for! Thankfully, it's also quite filling, so I rarely end up eating it all. If you love 'Pub Vibes', definitely check this place out! If you aren't into a noisy bar/pub atmosphere, probably don't come here on a weekend or most weeknights. With the lively chatter and sometimes live music, it lives up to the Irish Pub name!

Sat at the bar and it was packed. The Shepards fries were delicious, the shepards mix was loaded with meat and the gravy delicious. Definitely trying the Shepards pie next time. The beer cheese soup was good. The burger was ginormous! It was a good burger. Service was quick and we will definitely be back to try more

After spending a few hours at a coffee shop, our barista recommended Clancy's for happy hour and continuing laptop work here. My coworker and I headed over, finding parking on the street. It's a winding maze in here! We were seated in a comfortable booth near the bar. Plenty of seating until closer to dinner. Wi-Fi connection was strong which was the important part. For drinks, I had a spicy margarita and one of the mules. Great happy hour. I thought the drinks were okay. Service was awesome. I especially liked the tots we got and would get those again!

Have gone twice now and both times the food tasted like dog food. I don't know that I would even give it to my dog.

Sláinte, indeed! Clancy's Irish Pub has been in operation since 1973. Over 50 years in business means they're doing something right. This place rocks! Long time listener, first time caller. The locals only Irish pub has it all. Great food, affordable drinks, funky decor, huge space with multiple rooms and bars, and overall incredible vibes. Wheat Ridge has been blessed to claim Clancy's as their own for over 50 years. From the moment you walk in, you just feel like like you're in Denver's interpretation of Cheers. I popped in here after an event. I didn't know which room to snug up in because they all felt right. Ultimately I landed at the main bar. There was one server/bartender and she was doing it all! Working every room, checkin in on guests, pouring drinks, cleaning tables, etc. She was excellent! IRISH SPRING ROLLS ($9) // Corned Beef, Cabbage, Cheddar, Whiskey Mustard Sauce. Crispy on the outside, tender corned beef and cabbage on the inside. What more could a fella want? Pro tip, dip heavily in the mustard sauce. It's addicting and near habit forming. A steal at nine smackaroos. DRUNKEN IRISHMAN WINGS ($10) // 6pc Buffalo w/ Ranch. Big wing junkie here and these hit the spot. My only critiques are personal takes. For the amount of sauce they doused the wings in, I would've liked the wings in the fryer for another 30 seconds or so. Other than that, no complaints. I'll be ordering these many more times! Smithwicks for $5.75 a pint. Say less. I'm hooked after one visit. I am infatuated with longstanding local establishments like Clancy's. What a wonderful representation of what a fun, local Irish pub should be. No judgment, just good vibes, cheap drinks and great food. SOLD!

Food - Excellent; get there early before the specials sell out. Service - personable and attentive Ambiance - walk around this place before accepting a table...it has many cozy places and a variety of special atmospheres. There could be two band playing simultaneously and you would not know it. Menu - wonderful variety. This place is special.

We love this Irish pub! The people are friendly, it has a great ambience, and the food is excellent. Every time I go in, I try something new and I have yet to be disappointed. My favorites so far are shepherds pie, fish and chips, corn, beef, and cabbage (I believe they only have this on Fridays) O'Malley sandwich, the avocado wrap, their beef stew is to die for and their Irish onion soup is also very yummy. This restaurant is also great for a crowd as they have a very wide menu.

Delicious fish and chips. The fried shrimp is the bomb. And the coleslaw is pretty awesome, too. It's unique with its hint of lemon and blue cheese.

Has a fun atmosphere, warm vibe and serves Irish comfort food that makes the Guinness that much better.

I haven't found anything I don't like with Clancy's. The Reuben is my favorite though. With the Irish Castro sandwich a close second. I will have to head in to the pub to get a better feel for it.

Our favorite neighborhood Irish bar! The inside is huge, with different sections to sit, matching the vibe you are feeling. The back has many large TVs with a patio and bar. We have been many times and never struggle to find a spot to sit. Sitting at the bar is also a great option as the servers are all enjoyable. My husband and I have tried many things on the menu. The potato skins are a must! There are 3 different kinds. Whichever entree you decide to get I highly recommend the homemade potato chips (best thing ever!). I advise that you head over to Clancy's to share a pint, meet some friends, and chow down as soon as possible.

This place is a real cute Irish pub with some delicious grub! Situated in the friendly area of Wheat Ridge, there's indoor and patio dining options available. We chose indoor. Our server was friendly. We ordered the fish and chips, avocado and asparagus fries appetizer, kids chicken fingers, and Clancy burger. All were delicious and quickly served. The burger was cooked perfect and the fish and chips was fresh, flaky and crispy. Can't wait to return and try other items on their menu.

Such a cool location. All these little rooms and levels with multiple different bars and beer selections. Between the TVs and memorabilia, he will not be locking in entertainment. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed and for good reason. We did have some of the food and it's just OK but that's not why we went there. If we lived closer, we would be back more! What can be said about Clancy's that hasn't already been said during their multiple decades run?? To start with, the restaurant is ran by one of the most gracious men I have ever met, both in front of the public, and behind closed doors. Jeff & Liz and their crew are the heartbeat of Wheat Ridge and the anchor of 38th Avenue, and that's well worth noting. I LOVE supporting good people who give their all to their community, and that's them. Now on to the food and the experience. The restaurant itself is deceptively big, with multiple dining areas, and two bars and patios for service. I dig the floor to ceiling decorations and obvious Irish overtones. Truly unique. As far as food goes, as always, I get stuck in ruts because I'm hungry when I go out to eat So for me it's always the Shepard's Pie OR, and I never order or cook pork chops at home, the pork chop plate. I'm not sure what they do with their coleslaw, but it might be my favorite ever, and I DO make coleslaw all the time at home. So good. Finally, the energy ranges from family friendly to absolutely jamming with live bands and the best Saint Patrick's Day party in Denver, along with a stellar Karaoke night most every week. This place is a vibe! My friends and I went here a few times and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The shepherds pie is the best thing on the menu. We will be back!!

We went there for corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day. We went early and got in right away. Great food, staff and just a fun memorable day.

My first time at Clancy's was excellent! We were celebrating my brother's birthday. All of the food , appetizers and drinks were fantastic. So flavorful! Service was great and the atmosphere was kind of loud, but that is expected at a pub. I'm looking forward to going back and trying out some more dishes and drinks!

What a fun place! It's a classic American Irish pub; dark and mischievous with walls covered in paraphernalia. Such a fun vibe and would be a great St. Paddy's hang. The staff were incredible and so friendly. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a great lunch and a few awesome cocktails. The food was timed perfectly with the starter cocktails. I had the club accompanied by 2 Irish Maids which I very highly recommend! Well done! I can't wait to go back!

Food is really good and it's a good place to meet up and spend time the staff is great They did not try to rush us as we where a group of old co workers meeting up to catch up.

The food here is amazing. Everything my husband and I tired is delicious! Fridays they have corned beef and cabbage, and it's so tender and the portions are enough to make you stuffed.

Cozy nooks inside with a variety of seating options. Outdoor patio as well. The Flatiron Steak was great - the chimichurri sauce added a tasty zing, brussels Sprouts with bacon, and the mashed potatoes were good too. The price was reasonable as well.

Great food, but what really made it great was the friendly and very kind staff. This place has one of the coolest bars in the nation. If you're looking for a place to hide out from the world, it's right here!

So ... wow. I feel like I have almost forgotten what first class customer service at a restaurant is like. But, thanks to my experience at Clancy's with my server, Aron. The beers were nice, cold and affordable. The prices were reasonable. The tap list was great. The beer cheese soup (Cheddar Soup made with Harp Irish Lager topped with bacon & scallions) was tasty. For my entrée, I went with the shepherds pie (Seasoned ground beef, braised lamb, onions, mushrooms, peas, carrots, white cheddar mashed potatoes, savory herb brown gravy). It was lovely, dark, and deep ... with flavor. Very nice indeed. No kiddos. Fantastic service. Wonderful food. Excellent drinks and beer. Please visit soon.

We first stopped in for karaoke years ago and had a great time. We stopped back in tonight and had dinner with drinks. His Smithwicks was predictable and good. Grapefruit mule was sweeter than I anticipated but still good. We really enjoyed the Irish spring rolls - fresh oil makes the rolls light and crispy. The flavor was good as well - cheesy, just enough cabbage to compliment the corned beef and brown mustard for dipping. Yum. We both had the Shepherd's pie and left well over half on our plates. The rolls were not freshly baked and there didn't seem to be any seasoning in the main dish. I rarely add salt and pepper to a well cooked dish. We did tonight. He added hot sauce to give some acid. It was incredibly bland, sadly. We may return for karaoke but not sure we'll have a meal here again.

I like Clancy's. It is a nice place to meet up with folks. On this particular evening we popped in for some dinner with friends. My husband had the Irish Castro and I had the Green Chili fries. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a Guinness with mine. It went well with the fries. They have a decent amount of parking and the staff is always pleasant and welcoming. My only issue with the evening was we were seated at a table that was half booth half chairs because it was a corner. I was sitting on the booth part and because of the slant of the seat, I felt like I was sliding off all throughout dinner. I had to keep scooching myself back up. Next time, I'll ask for a different spot if that one is offered. Overall, I usually have a good experience here that is why we keep coming back.

We thoroughly enjoyed Clancy's pub once we were seated. Our server was attentive, the food was very fresh and housemade. For example the seafood and chips was hand battered there on site and then fried. My husband had a perfectly cooked steak with mashed potatoes....heaven! My sister in law had the Rueben, which she loved and took the other half home for breakfast. We would highly recommend all three dishes! There seemed to be enough parking even though the restaurant was packed. The venue is cool with multiple rooms and bars to walk through. Restrooms were clean.

Came here on a trip to Colorado. It was our first good stop of the trip. I've never really had Irish food before so I did not know what to expect. I did decide to go all out though and get the bangers and mash. It was really good! I only ate the sausages and the mashed potatoes because I'm not a fan of veggies but I liked what I ate. We also got fried Mac n cheese for our appetizer which was really good! The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there so I was a bit surprised that service was a bit slow. It took awhile for the bill to get to us. Nevertheless it wasn't a horrible experience. The place is pretty big and has a lot of Irish decorations which was cool to look at! Overall, it was a nice meal and it definitely makes me want to explore more different types of food!

BF took me here knowing how particular I am with my standards. I couldn't decide between the shepherd pie and the Rueben they both sounded perfect. I ordered the Rueben and it was the 2nd best I've ever had! And that's high praise. The atmosphere is friendly, exactly what you want in a local pub, the service was the same. We went for lunch on a Sunday. It took 20 minutes for our order of spring rolls to arrive. 35 minutes for a burger and fish and chips. There was a family and 2 people at the bar dining at the time. The food runner told us not to complain about the wait for our food because they only have one cook. Our waitress told us we didn't need a refill on our water. We complained about our food and the "owner" walked to our table. He didn't ask us a question but instead told us to "get the f*** out of [my] restaurant" We weren't able to finish our food. The owner also called me a "clown" while exiting the restaurant. I've never experienced something like this before but someone needs to call restaurant impossible.

This fine pub still seems like it's newly at this location to me as a regular of the area, but they've been there several years after moving from further south off Kipling. The "new" location is fantastic, though, and has enough little nooks and crannies to offer what seems like plenty of seating options until St. Patrick's Day rolls around and it becomes standing room only. There are multiple medium-sized dining rooms, plus a bar area where you can get comfortable for the large selection of traditional and Irish-inspired dishes on offer. Our favorites are the Irish Castro or the Blarney Burger, but their crispy potato chips and beer cheese soup can't be beat! The Chicken O'Carbonara isn't my favorite pasta offering and is a rare miss on their varied menu, but one dish I don't like as well is far from any reason not to keep coming back year-round. They have regular live music, and tons of entertainment around St. Patrick's Day, but during the week it's usually a nice chill spot to hang out and have a meal and a beer. Like I mentioned, I've been coming here since they were at their old location, and I'll be back soon!

Enjoyed another delicious lunch at my favorite pub! After my last review the credit card automatic charge is now separated so if you are paying cash you can avoid it. I appreciate the quick response to fix the issue. Absolutely love the cheese curds! Really good! My server was great! See you soon!

I love the atmosphere, the owner, and the menu always looks good but sometimes the cook seems afraid of using salt or herbs and spices. The coleslaw was bland- like there was no sauce at all. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked with excellent crunch- but also had no flavor. I noticed that about the previous trip where we had appetizers. I will try again and try something different....

I've been coming here for years. Everything on the menu is delicious, the staff is kind and funny and it's a great place to watch an Avs or Nuggets game.

Really good burger, along with a real portion of onion rings! Wife had the shepherds pie, was excellent. And if you're there, be sure to have a Guinness.. a correctly poured Guinness! Enjoy

Really impressed with this place. Great food. Fantastic craft and import beer selection. I don't love Irish Pubs. I'm not a fan the big 5 Irish Beers and the food tends to be fried stuff, not-quite-Indian curry and dry or over-veggied shepherd's pie. This place was not my first choice when we rolled in on a Saturday evening. But, I am so happy to be wrong about this place! Clancy's has a fantastic tap and bottle selection. It's a great mix of local craft beer and European imports. They had an extensive cocktail menu, as well. Everything on the menu looked fantastic. It was really difficult making a decision on what to eat. The hangar steak was great. The horseradish mashed potatoes were delicious. And, the brussels with onions and bacon were al dente. Great meal. And, I really enjoyed my Ska Modus Hopperandi with it. The Shepherd's Pie looked divine as well. And, the cheesecake was fab! We will definitely be back!

If you're going after a golf round with the guys and gals. If you want to mostly drink. Staff and owner are top notch and they should have better food. At lunch with my peeps. They served me a sandwich with rotting beef in it. They did comp my meal and I did not order anything else. Ate later at home

I love Clancy's they are friendly great service great food. Jeff the owner and Tas the head chef are really friendly and the food and drinks are great. Great for dinning and parties and the prices are great and the food as well. Great rating on every thing.

This is by far the best Irish bar in Denver. Great atmosphere, AMAZING food, awesome drinks. Came here after a day of snowboarding for some drinks and shepherds pie. Couldn't beat it. Bartenders are friendly and inviting and they also have great happy hour!

I've gone to Clancys a handful of times. I usually am not overly impressed with the food, but it is pretty standard pub food. I do love the layout of this place and love their beer selection. Very cool Irish bar and would recommend going to drink!

What a fantastic location. Great Irish American pub with warmth and welcoming atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Food is filling and delicious. Definitely Irish American fare but it's executed well.

I like pubs that have old wood bars and floors and a lot of beers on tap from a wide range of locations. If I find a place with one or two of these, I'm pretty happy. Clancy's has all 3 plus their staff are always fast & nice! I drive across town to have a beer or two here, so I definitely recommend Clancy's to anyone who truly appreciates the art of beer! There are multiple "rooms" and bars within Clancy's. I've never been to Ireland but I'm guessing that's a thing over there because I've been to other Irish bars that are setup this way. Walk around and see which one feels right for you! They have live music on weekends I believe. Check their website for those details. This visit I had Warsteiner Pilsner. Excellent fall brew, caramelly flavor, like an Oktoberfest but a little lighter. Not hoppy, I'm guessing around 20 IBU's. I didn't look it up. Color is like a gold Pilsner. The service here has been spot on every time I've been here.

The Fried Mac & Cheese was a very good appetizer, with distinct ingredients. 3 balls per order, each filled with corned beef and white cheddar cheese on top of creamy and super tasty red gravy. This place is huge too, with a bunch of different bar areas. Fan!

Had a very nice late afternoon at Clancy's thanks to Jess W. She accommodated special requests and did it with awesome personality and professionalism. When you come for a visit be sure to say hello to her!

Fantastic people work and run this place! A member of my family has dietary restrictions and the kitchen here consistently accommodates her needs Every. Single. Time. She even looks forward to eating, which is brand new and great because she actually needs to gain weight. Thank heavens for this gem in Wheat Ridge. You don't know how much you do for us by just opening for the day!

This place! I LOVE this place! The parking lot is a huge plus, the service is prompt and attentive... you don't know they're watching until your water glass is less than half full and boom, they're there filling it and gone just as fast. The food... not for those watching their calories but incredibly good! My guy got the fish and chips... giant, tender fish fillets with waffle cut fries (uh... chips in this case) and malt vinegar on every table. I got the Reuben, which was the best one I've had since a couple years ago in Vegas at a chef Ramsay place. Thick, juicy, tender slices of pastrami, the much needed kraut & swiss, all on a lovely marble rye toast. And the potato salad! So great! Incredibly tender potato chunks and a creamy, just-enough-dill sauce. I can't wait to return so I can try some other menu items!
