"Clara’s Tidbits is a Jacksonville staple known for chicken salad and soups. Its most popular menu item is the classic combo: a chicken salad pita with the restaurant’s potato salad, a pickle, and a slice of lemon cake. Those looking for a twist on the traditional chicken salad can opt for the chicken avocado pita, which has avocado, alfalfa sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. On cooler days in the city, the spicy cajun chicken and andouille sausage gumbo are a hearty choice that keeps people full and satisfied." - Megan duBois

Bre was the one who helped with my order. She was very efficient, knowledgeable and did not seem like her first day at work. My favorite to get here is the chicken salad in a pita with mayo, lettuce and tomatoes. I also like to add banana peppers. It cones with a spear of pickle and a side. I normally order the pasta salad but for some reason it wasn't as flavorful this time. The vinaigrette was lacking in my opinion. The place could use a revamp too but it isn't that bad.

Firstly, let me state how sad I am to be leaving this review. I've been eating at Tidbits for about 20 years. For the longest, this was my fave place to get salads. Nothing beat that Tidbits special salad. However, since the pandemic and I am finding this true with so many establishments that serve food. The portions have gotten smaller but cost more money, and today was the final nail in the coffin for me. The last time I had ordered a Tidbits special salad it was thrown together half the veg was missing and they didn't even include my dressing. It wasn't a huge order only that salad and a sandwich for my husband. And I get that during lunch rushes it gets busy, I've waitressed as well as done food prep for restaurants in the past so yes been there done that. So that salad was terrible and today I got this Taco salad that I've had before because how can you mess it up. It's a bed of lettuce some tortilla chips olives, green onions, cheddar cheese and a side of chili. Well... today what I got was not a salad. It was mostly tortilla chips with maybe a 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce, some cheese and a few olives. No green onions. Now I noticed there was a strange smell something like mildew or maybe it was a fermenting smell? It was funky but I was like meh maybe it's the bag it came in. I poured my chili on this basically barren nacho and as I started to eat the chips I kept smelling it. I started to sniff the chips and thought it was them at first but soon realized it was the lettuce. I quickly spat out what was in my mouth and I'm going to throw this away. The lettuce is sour and could make someone sick! 🤢 luckily I only had a few bites and that was mostly chips and chili but the lettuce was touching the chips so hoping to god i don't have a day full of throwing up and other fun gastric adventures. I am just disgusted at this point. How are you selling this nasty salad that could kill someone or make someone severely ill for 13.00 a pop? Obviously quality left the building back when I had that terrible Tidbits special but I thought it was a fluke. So I won't be ordering from Clara's anymore and buyers beware and also smell what you buy to make sure it's not off. Now I have to order a lunch from somewhere else and spend money I didn't expect today. Clara please stop ripping people off on portions and get some quality control in your kitchen before you kill someone.

Never disappointed with the catering service and absolutely LOVE the chicken salad. Today's delivery with Stanley was prompt and organized. Stanley was very friendly and a gem. Thank you so much.

If you ain't eating lunch at or from Clara Tidbits at least every two weeks, you definitely should! The half soup/half sandwich combo is a no brainer. Pictured here is a tuna pita, all the way, pasta salad, broccoli and cheese soup. I also got a side of fruit and the peach bread pudding because yeah. It's that good. Definitely couldn't leave the house for lunch but Uber Eats never fails me!! Now let's eat!!

Google
I have ordered from here before and it’s usually stellar (hence the 4 stars for food). However, I just received an ordered delivered through Uber eats and am so dissatisfied. The amount of chicken salad that my chicken salad pita has on it is laughable. That’s the only way to describe it. I don’t understand how the kitchen staff, or the wait staff that boxed it, didn't look at it and think “that needs more chicken salad.” Service is 1 star.

Google
Long time favorite. Love the new cinnamon and sugar pita chips. Was disappointed when food took much longer than everyone else at the same time. My pita was cold and I requested it to be heated. It had a beautiful avocado on it. When they brought it back from heating it, it only had one slice of avocado on it. The wife's salad was missing 2 ingredients. Tid bits is usually spot on. This time quality of food still above average but they messed up heating of pita and few ingredients missing

Stopped by after apartment hunting in San Marco. We came here by recommendation. I will start by saying they are well priced! We were shocked that all this food you see here was under $25. The soups were AMAZING. I would come back just for a big bowl of the gumbo alone. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sandwiches, but maybe that’s just me. You already know… the potato salad and pita chips were so good we got them to go on our way out. We also grabbed a strawberry shortcake for dessert and it was fabulous. We’re so glad we’re moving nearby. It’s going to be our go to lunch spot for sure.

Have always liked this place, but had not been there in many years. Staff friendlier than ever. Chicken salad sandwich combo was excellent.

Yelp
I started coming to this location in the mid eighty's. I ate lunch there a lot when I worked downtown, despite having to cross the bridge to get there. I also used this location for many years to cater for my workplace and for a non profit when I was on the board of directors. I have lived in 5 different states. So when I say Tidbits is the BEST chicken salad ever, it comes from someone who has searched far and wide to find something as good..... and failed. Whenever I come back to the Jax area to visit, this is the only place I want to go eat. When my daughter visits without me, I always ask her to bring back some chicken salad.....it travels from Florida to North Carolina! The chicken salad pita and the chicken salad scoop on a salad is my go to. It's different than any other chicken salad....in a good way! It comes with your choice of side and I always get the potato salad . I could eat a bowl full. It's awesome. The place is always clean and you are guaranteed smiles along with fast service. I always have a bottle of Clara's seasoning in my spice rack and use it to make my own chicken salad....but it never comes close to Tidbits. I'm your biggest fan Tidbits!

Susan H.

Yelp
I love this place. Been going forever and practically order the same exact thing - the broccoli soup, the famous chicken salad and famous potato salad - all made in house! I love her seasoning and over season everything b/c it's so good! And I haven't seen anything come out for my friends that isn't looking scrumptious. Lots of room and over flowing Diet Coke from a fountain

Yelp
This place is nostalgic for me. Growing up Filipino, my experience with American food was very limited. The first time I ate potato salad was when I was a teenager and it was from Clara's Tidbits. They honestly set the bar high for every potato salad I'd ever eat. I don't eat potato salad unless it's Clara's. It's not doused in mayo, it has the perfect blend of seasonings, and the texture is perfection. They also have a delicious chicken salad. It's not overly sauced and mixed well so you can taste every ingredient in each bite. One of my favorite sandwich toppings are sprouts--and I really can't find it anywhere except here. Service is great! Sammies, soups and salads are served with a smile. The team is helpful and friendly every time I've come. Don't have a Clara's near you? You can buy their chicken and tuna salad at local Gate gas stations! But, the drive is worth it if you've never tried it. I'm a fan!

Yelp
Tidbits being a mile away from my work is terrible for my addictive personality... At some point in the near future my body mass may be made up of 25% Tidbits chicken salad and potato salad! If you are a fan of chicken salad, potato salad, and/or cold sandwiches, you need to try this place out. The BEST potato salad in town. They are probably glad they are open from 11am-2:30pm because they would get tired of seeing me all day every day!

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Came to Jacksonville on a layover and a friend who lives here took me to Tidbits. The restaurant itself is very cute. Plenty of seating, not dirty. I ordered a chicken avocado pita. Cost $10.99 plus tax and it came with a side. I chose fruit salad. Didn't think it was gonna be too big but this thing was HUGE!! And they definitely don't skimp you on the chicken!! It came with a side of ranch for dipping and that made the pita! Was SO DELICIOUS!! And also healthy which made it even better. The lady at the counter was very friendly. Gave me a cup for water which I always ask for so I love that I didn't even have to ask. Lots of sandwich and salad choices on the menu so I'm sure you'll find something you like. I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in the area.

Rebecca N.

Yelp
I have always loved Clara's. They have wonderful food, drinks and great service. I have been here for gatherings, delivery to work and take out. I was a little distracted by Mr N. I forgot to mention how much I like the ordering kiosks. I also love the salad bar. Sandwiches are always good and fresh. Highly recommended. They have also catered lunch to us a few times as well. All was very good.

Jami M.

Yelp
Pop in for a quick bite before heading to Nemours. Service was fast even though they were still super busy at 1:10pm. The food was delicious and the staff super friendly. Very clean!

abigail h.

Yelp
Yum yum yum love love love!!! I go here for lunch at least twice a month and it is the best grab and go/ sit down place in down town!

Becky J.

Yelp
Delicious lunch spot! Order online and pick up your food at the designated spot inside for a quick to-go transaction. The food was fresh and everything in our order was correct. I loved the pita chips and the ranch dressing is creamy and loaded with flavor! My veggie pita was very filling, I may switch up the cheddar cheese for feta next time for more if a Mediterranean flavor! Can't wait to order again soon!

Denise M.

Yelp
We had the chicken and sausage gumbo and the taco salad. Both were excellent! The people at the restaurant were so nice and gave us free drinks because it was our first time there. We would highly recommend this place!

Kathy M.

Yelp
Stacy and the team were great! I made an error on my lunch order and they corrected it.

Angela S.

Yelp
It's been 20+ years since I last ate at Tidbits. When I worked in Jax (years before yelp), we would eat here at least once a week. We are road trippin' and I wanted to stop in Jax. I suddenly remembered this gem. Today, was even better than I recall. We enjoyed two Chicken Salad avocado pitas (sans sprouts), potato salad, and coleslaw. Those that hate mayo-y foods will so enjoy Tidbits chicken salad. Wish I knew the secret to this flavorful, dressing-less, salad. It appears to be chicken, seasoning, and love. And the ranch..... it deserves a paragraph all its own. It takes the sandwich over the top. It's by far the best I've ever had... exactly as I remember. And then there is the potato salad- oh my. I have a piece of heavenly lemon cake to enjoy on the trip home. My only complaint is there isn't a location in Tampa.

Pamela H.

Yelp
Had the chicken salad on pita with all the fixings.......best chicken salad I have ever had!!!! Amazing!!!!

Rose ann W.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff. Clean place. Lots of indoor seating. I highly recommend this place.

Missy H.

Yelp
So delicious! For the longest time I was working away from the area and had forgotten how much I loved Tidbits chicken salad and their potato salad! So glad I work downtown now and can get my fix anytime!

Kim F.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Clara's and Tidbits for many years, love her food (and her Zumba classes, many years ago :D) I'm not sure why I've never reviewed her menu before now, because everything she makes is delicious and great quality! But today I strayed from my usual tuna on rye, and ordered the hot roast beef po boy and had to tell somebody how fantastic it was! The sandwich is pressed like a Cuban sandwich, the beef was tender and super flavorful brown gravy, mayo and melted Swiss cheese, it's a little messy but so good it's worth it! It's a perfect New Orleans classic only better! Instead of lettuce Clara uses thin sliced cabbage which is a big improvement, it holds up well and gives a little crisp crunch to the otherwise melty messy gooey deliciousness... you should go get one today!

M D.

Yelp
This was so good! I had the Rachel and potato salad, and it was a perfect deli lunch. Casual setting, lots of seating, friendly service and no feeling of being rushed at all. Glad I walked in the formidable Florida sun for 15 minutes to get there.

Karena R.

Yelp
I can remember going to Tidbits for lunch back in 2000 and until scrolling Yelp one day I was reminded it was time to go back to see if the food was as good as I remembered and to introduce my husband to the spot. Well, let me just say things are just as I remembered. It was like walking into a time capsule. The salad bar was still in the same spot from years ago and the man was assisting with our order, Justin informed us that the restaurant was celebrating 33 years I believe in the same location-sounded about right because it'd had been almost 20 years since I'd been there. I was trying to remember my usual but I couldn't remember so I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant w/the potatoe salad and please let's not forget the slice of lemon cake. let me just say-EVERYTHING TASTE THE SAME. I WAS IN HEAVEN WHILE EATING THE POTATO SALAD-JUST LIKE I REMEMBER. I do believe my husband enjoyed the food too because he had a clean plate and he's found a new home. I can't wait to go back.

Tawnda C.

Yelp
I love Tidbits, especially the chicken sausage gumbo. Everything is fresh and delicious. Soups, salads, sandwiches and wraps. The sides are very good. The bread and butter that comes with the gumbo is my favorite.

Dana L.

Yelp
This locally owned and operated restaurant has been around since 1985 (Clara and Greg LeBlanc) and it does seem like it's been that long. I've been coming here for over 25 years, and you say is the fascination. can't put my finger on which items. It's location is across the Main or Acosta bridge to Hendricks Avenue to park in their new location under the bridge. Upon arrival I love to see the salad bar and the new upgrades which allows you to order by screen or in person with a cashier. The dining area is just right unless you are running late and oops..no seating available. for me when the restroom are away from the dining experience. Healthy eating options are plentiful from salads, soups, veggies, to veggie plate, sandwiches or fruits plates to include salads or the famous Taco Salad or potato salad and seasoning that is sprinkled on top. Oh yes they have desserts.... yummy. If there is to WOW me with their fresh ingredients; they have succeeded . The Clara's Tidbit salad is so yummy, with every item chopped and placed in your container or plate for you to mix i.e. salad, celery, bean sprouts, lettuce, carrots, peppers green, .etc..and chicken and your choice of salad dressing. You can easily get hooked on the fruit plate to include a scoop of chicken salad, or the sandwiches to include potato salad. The strawberry shortcake which you can have with and without pecans . Let me know when you want to meet up and we can compare smiles, oooh and aaahhhhhhs. Support your local community businesses.

Yelp
If you are looking for delicious food, fast service and friendly staff, Tidbits is the place to go. All the sandwiches and side are fresh and delicious.

Edward A.

Yelp
If you like Tidbits' menu, you will never be disappointed. I have been to both locations many times and one word clearly describes this local establishment (since 1985) - CONSISTENT. The hospitality, the service, and the food. It is exactly the same every single time - which for me is good. I really like their roast beef PO' boy. You won't mistake it from anything from New Orleans but it is a perfectly put together sandwich of roast beef, Swiss cheese, cabbage, mayo, on French bread slathered in gravy and then grilled (lightly pressed - like a Cuban). I also recommend the chicken chunk pita with avocado as well as their chicken salad. They are famous with the locals for their potato salad and it is definitely worthy of such praise. Their lemon cake also has a following as well. Simple, moist, so good - again, CONSISTENT. I just overheard an employee tell a patron that they have worked for Tidbits for 20 years. That's to me is amazing and probably helps their consistency. For what Tidbits has to offer, this is a great local spot.

Kyle S.

Yelp
Tidbits is a must-have that never disappoints! Their chicken salad, pasta salad, potato salad and pita chips are particularly delicious to me! And we can't forget about the lemon cake, which is the best I've ever had. More often than not, when I need to bring something to a party or gathering (back when those were things we could safely do), I'll just get larger sizes of the potato and pasta salad because everyone loves them and it's so simple!

Ariel N.

Yelp
We've been patrons of both Clara's Tidbits locations for years now and for good reason - the food is spectacularly great, the service consistently friendly and the restaurant itself is comfortable homey and truly no frills! It's so good in fact that you can pretty much expect that there will be a good line of customers for lunch - the line always moves along and the staff are really good about getting you seated once a customer vacates their table. Big fan of so many things on Clara's menu (which I've included) but My Personal Favs because they are OH SO Delicious include the Tidbits Reuben (piping hot pastrami!), the chicken sausage Gumbo and the you gotta have it Clara's Potato Salad! For you Sweet Tea fans, Clara's tea is wonderfully tasty! Lunch parking can be a challenge but there's spaces located to the left side of the building entrance. Give Clara's Tidbits at Hendricks Avenue a try - you'll be delighted and glad you did!

Peyton B.

Yelp
My parents and I have been going here for about 12 years and I love going for lunch whenever I'm in town for a visit! Their portions are plentiful and fresh! Just tried their chicken salad and it was so great! I love the staff and love supporting small businesses! You should give it a try! Brownie Points: They have paper straws instead of plastic!

Marguerite T.

Yelp
The BEST chicken salad and potato salad. Staff is always friendly! Been a customer and fan for 30 years!

Nicole C.

Yelp
I'm not so secretly obsessed with the chicken salad here at Tidbits. Seriously though. One of the best things I've ever had - and I will constantly crave it. This is a perfect lunch location in the San Marco area, but they also have a phenomenal catering service that's perfect for work lunches. The staff is always friendly and you can't beat the quality of food for the price. Again- GET THE CHICKEN SALAD. And lemon cake.

Patrick L.

Yelp
My wife works downtown and Clara's Tidbits has good food, fast service, clean, easy parking, and the staff is wonderful. There's lots of tables. We're regulars. I'm a lover of chicken salad sandwiches since I was a kid, that hasn't changed, and I like Tidbits. They also have nice salad bar that even has alfalfa sprouts (Hey, I'm from California). Gigi, the wife, loves and regularly has the turkey and avocado pita. The soups aren't bad on those rare Florida cold days.

Jasmine R.

Yelp
A local place that has had my heart for years. The staff is great and the food is even better!

Kirk T.

Yelp
Clara's Tidbits Restaurant on Baymeadows is one of our favorite lunch places in Jacksonville. There's rarely a line. You can get seated very quickly. They offer several different soups as well as sandwiches and salads. The salads are delicious. Particularly we love the chicken salad. But you can't go wrong with the egg salad or the tuna salad either. All the sandwiches are overstaffed and really delicious. Portions are very generous! The service was quick and the prices are fair. Parking is easy. The place is very clean including the restrooms. Check out their Daily Specials Board to Save a bit.

Linda V.

Yelp
I didn't realize there were people who are practically natives BUT had never been to Tidbits! But I have 4 friends who I introduced Tidbits to today for lunch! (In their defense they live in Orange Park so it isn't around the corner for them!). I recommended they try the chicken salad and they all did.... sandwich and soup. I got the salad bar so I could get my fresh veggies and the tuna salad and the potato salad and the Coles slaw...you get the picture! Yum, yum! They have new machines in the lobby to order with a credit card that seems very thorough on what you can get with or without the additives. Today it did not get too crowded but it has been in the past. It started to rain as we left so the shuttle to our cars was a nice touch! We'll be back!

Julie S.

Yelp
Great place to get lunch! They make wonderful sandwiches, salads and have a very nice salad bar. Their made salads (chicken, tuna, etc) are made with a lot of seasoning, but a little to "mayonnaisey" for my taste. Their potato salad is almost like a mashed potato salad and many people really like it and I hear great feedback when I am with others that order it. I personally am not a fan of any potato salad, so I can only give hearsay. Now, the Fresh Fruit and Chicken Salad Plate is always a delight and the amount of fruit is amazing and so fresh. I love it! The establishment is always clean, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Go have some lunch today!

Miranda R.

Yelp
Best lunch spot in downtown Jax--recommend the pita chips and the service is always so fast.

Debbie F.

Yelp
I have eatten from here several times but seems to be a favorite for my work crew. We cater alot and they always get it right. Who can resist those huge chocolate chip coikies. There salads are so fresh and I love there Chicken Salad with the fruit..Mmmmmmmm. You can't go wrong eatting here unless it's dinner cause they closed. Its only open for Lunch time. :)

Ak H.

Yelp
For the love of chicken salad sandwiches, you need to eat here! I've tried here twice, courtesy of introduction by my coworkers. The first time I had their taco salad and want through impressed. It treated like just a plain taco salad, nothing over the top it memorable. The second time I've tried it I got their chicken salad in a pita, by recommendation of others. My gosh it was the best chicken salad sandwich I've ever had. The pita was stuffed so full! They pair it with their potato salad and even that is to die for! I can't wait to have more of this amazing combo. Their only downfall is the hours. How can something so good be only available a couple hours a day. I need this in my life for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This place is a true gem.

Jeana L.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My co-worker and her husband (who met us there for lunch) took me here for my birthday and treated me :). I've always loved eating chicken/tuna salads. Loved it since I was young and will always. I heard this place has the best chicken salad so I went to order the classic chicken salad sandwich on wheat with a side of potato salad. I heard the potato salad is really delicious as well. The inside looked really nice, clean, and comfortable. Nothing super fancy or anything like that which is great for me. The staff are very friendly and attentive. When my sandwich arrived, I thought it was pretty big layered with mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes. Good amount of potato salad which is about the size of a measuring cup (which is plenty). Pickle on side. The sandwich and potato salad where delicious!!!!! Not too much mayonnaise in the mix and very moist chicken which is how I like it. A lot more chicken salad than you normally get. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. Also, I just found out they have another location on baymeadows road, which is great because it will be closer to me.

Oleg F.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! Friendly people and delicious foods, I can't get enough of it. My favorite is the Salad Sampler getting a scoop of the chicken salad, potato salad, Cole slaw, and more. It is plenty and under $10. Try one of their desserts while you are here.

Brad M.

Yelp
Serviceable lunch counter. Nothing that will knock your socks off, but good enough in a pinch. Potato salad is really good, chicken salad with avocado is tasty. They won't win any James Beard awards, but I will walk the mile from my office rather than settle for some of the closer stuff.

Kevin D.

Yelp
This restaurant is pretty plain Jane. It's not going to wow you with ambiance or decor. It's not going to take you to a place. It's pretty straight forward eating. So, in the scope of a dining experience it's usually a combination of both. Unfortunately some places rely on decor and ambiance to mask completely average food. This is not that place. This is utilitarian by design, but more importantly delicious by quality. Quality food and recipes trumps decor here. The salad bar is smallish. The tables and dining area are pretty basic. The hook here is in the little extras, the purity and quality of the food. As mentioned, the salad bar wasn't very large but everything about it was just better. The freshness of the produce, the potato salad recipe, the Russian dressing- it's all the little things. I ordered salad bar and was over the moon satisfied. The quality of the ingredients made such a difference. This place is definitely worth a visit. Once you get in there, just remember- the food is going to be awesome! Even without all the hoopla. It's not cheap, salad bar was about $10 but if you love super fresh cold crispy veggies and house made dressings- welcome to your new favorite salad bar in Jacksonville! Your welcome...

Alexis W.

Yelp
I know this is going to sound crazy... but, in my opinion, Tidbits is the best restaurant in Jacksonville. If they had a full bar I'd come here for fancy dinners, too. Everything they serve is 100% fresh all. the. time. Perfectly green avocados, cucumbers, sprouts - like they pick it all from a magic garden in the back. The potato salad is just as good as everyone says it is. Get a side, trust me. My favorite order is the Tidbit Special salad with red wine vinaigrette. It's massive - I usually save the other half for lunch the next day. 'Chicken chunks' isn't my favorite word combo, but it's flavorful, tender and all-white meat. Perfect for a salad. The chicken noodle soup is as plain as it gets and great if you're feeling under the weather. Don't expect BOOM FLAVOR TOWN from Tidbits - expect plain, reliable food (in a good way!) & fresh, quality ingredients.

Felicia L.

Yelp
I've been to Clara's Tibits on a few different occasions, mainly on Thursday's for the salad bar special ( $10 w/drink). Most of the time the bar is fully stocked and the choices are "just okay". If you like your salads topped with various kinds of cold cuts, cheeses, dairy dressings and pastas, then you would find this salad bar bountiful. However, I don't eat meat, dairy or eggs. So I am limited to just the veggie options. Which are just the run of the mill choices - romaine lettuce, green bell peppers, olives, carrots, tomatoes, celery, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber, chickpeas and croutons. Which again, nothing bad about it, but nothing extra special either. Don't get wrong, I am happy there is a salad bar so close to my job. I just wish the price point actually matched the options. A variety of lettuces and seasonal fruit would be great start to improving the salad bar. Also like different types of veggies, like peas, corn, beets etc. The one thing that does keep me returning are the lovely ladies that work there. They are always so cheerful, accommodating and really try hard to get people through the line as quickly as possible. I would say A+ to the entire Clara's Tidbits crew for your customer service. Even small things like checking to make sure the coffee is fresh, or having the to- go boxes ready and prepared with silver ware makes a vast difference in my opinion.I love watching the crew interact with each other. They are so joyful and vibrant! Overall, my experiences here have always been pleasant. And even though the prices are really too high for what you are getting. It really is a good place to go when you want a fresh salad.

Vanessa T.

Yelp
I really, really, really like Tidbits! For a casual lunch spot they do everything right! This location has been here forever and every time I have stopped in the food has always been good....every time.... no matter what I have gotten! This place reminds me of a saying "do one thing and do it good" ...the menu and food is simple, not complicated, but they just make it taste so good!!!! I have tried turkey pita, chicken salad in a pita, 1/2 sandwich with soup, sampler salad ( if you feel like having a salad I highly recommend this!) and the salad bar. You just can't go wrong with anything you order! Their potato salad is one of the best variations I have ever had ( and included in salad bar!) They also run 1/2 off deals on the site "local flavor" .....all good!

Caroline J.

Yelp
No complaints with product quality. However, my recent order (yesterday; 1/20/22) left out salad dressing AND cutlery. The employee responsible for making sure all items in order failed. This was a takeout order for lunch. Before one thinks "you should have checked".....Door Dash order. Have already expressed my displeasure with them. Not the first time items left out of order. Disappointed! :(

Yelp
My husband and I met here for lunch today. I had the chicken salad on marble rye bread with Cole slaw on the side. He had the Rueben with potato salad. The sides were a bit small but very good and both sandwiches were tasty. The place is bigger than I imagined. Plenty of seating. It was initially hard to figure out if there was table service or not. I then saw an "Order Here" sign at the register in the back. So we ordered and the man instructed me to listen for our number. Meanwhile in deep conversation an employee walked by with an apron on and leaned over to see our receipt #. She said she'd get our food for us. Well 10 minutes later they called our number and I totally forgot what she said and I got up and started walking towards the counter when I heard an upset voice say aloud, "Well I'm not going to fight you for it, get it yourself then". It was the same older lady. I had mixed feelings of feeling bad and upset at her behavior. My husband even looked up to see what the commotion was about. It upset him and myself. So, here's my former restaurant management experience suggestion to the owner: (1) Do Not tell people to listen for their # if someone else has the responsibility of delivering it to your patrons and (2) get number cards on a stick and have your employee deliver the food instead to where the number is. (Or a similar program) I'd like to return but will know better how to handle the issue next time.

Yelp
Who could say anything bad about this place? Seriously.... from the customer service, cleanliness and of course the quality and amount of food you get. Superior service all the way. The salad bar is fresh and inviting so check that out! I always get the chicken salad on pita with potato salad. This is delicious and very filling! The fresh made in house pita chips are addicted. I can't say enough about this place. I've been coming here off and on for 15 years and the service is consistently wonderful. Great job everyone!

Yelp
I've been in a few times, and it's a disaster every time I come in. It wasn't even very crowded, but the kitchen and wait staff was confused and chaotic. They messed up many peoples orders while I was standing there waiting for mine. My order was placed ahead and it was not even started when I got there. The food is delicious, but they gotta get the rest under control!

Yelp
Moved away from Jax 9 years ago and came back for a visit. I remembered how great Tidbits used to be, went to Yelp to see current favorable reviews, and decided to go today. I was not disappointed! The chicken salad pita was just as I remembered- amazing. And the potato salad was even better than I remembered. Amazing lunch with a fabulous pickle for less than $9. I'll be back. And it will be before 9 years again! For sure!

Yelp
This place is a great locally family owned place to get a great lunch. Tidbits serves a variety of sandwiches, soup, a salad bar, chicken salad, pasta salad, potato salad and great deserts! Oh, their lemon pound cake is to die for and is a must try. Now don't blame me, if you get a bad cut, I had a piece today and it was a little dry and dense. Good thing I have had it plenty of times before, and it always tastes so fresh and moist! Must have been a bad baking day that particular day, the cookies are also phenomenal! Anything you try at Tidbits I'm almost sure you won't be disappointed. Pictured is the half and half, Turkey Avocado and Chicken and Sausage Gumbo with a side of potato salad which will also make you slap your mama!! Yum !
