Love this area so beautiful. So many places to walk to nearby. We walked to the Art Institute of Chicago and also to dinner from here. Loved that they had bathrooms here, the had two buildings on both sides of the fountain. Beautiful view looking towards the city and turning around you can see the lake. It did look like there was some food you could buy here too.

Buckingham Fountain is a must-see in Grant Park. The fountain itself is stunning, especially when the water shows are running. Surrounded by city skyline views and Lake Michigan, it’s a great photo spot and a nice place to pause while exploring the area. Best enjoyed in the evening when it’s beautifully lit.

This fountain is truly breathtaking and much larger than photos can capture. Nestled beside Lake Michigan and framed by the stunning Chicago skyline, it creates a picture-perfect setting that feels both romantic and serene. It’s the kind of place that invites you to pause, take a deep breath, and simply enjoy the moment. Perfect for reflection, a date, or even a quiet afternoon alone, it offers a little magic under the open sky. Packing a picnic and spending a few hours here is a wonderful idea. As one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks, it carries a fascinating backstory you can read about online, and being the second-largest fountain in the world makes it even more impressive. On hot summer days, it’s a refreshing spot to cool down, and when the lights come on at night, the view is absolutely spectacular.

We just love fountains! Had to wait for show after dark to enjoy lights. Not very safe area. Kind of scary to go back to Michigan Ave too many homeless and weird people.

Good place to sit and enjoy the view ! Walking distance from the waterfront. Also, on walking distance from Bean / Cloud Gate. During the night show around 8:00 PM, it is tough to walk as there is no lighting around this fountain.

Buckingham Fountain is absolutely beautiful! 🌟 It’s less crowded, making it a perfect spot for a casual stroll around or just to sit and relax nearby. There are also walking and cycling trails around the area, so it's a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’re taking in the view or just soaking up the peaceful atmosphere, it’s definitely worth a visit!

A true Chicago landmark — you can read the backstory behind why it exists online. And it’s the second largest fountain in the world. A great place to cool off on a hot summer day and a beautiful sight when the lights are in at night. I can’t help but hum Love and Marriage each time I walk or drive past it. Go see this. Skip throwing coins. This isn’t Rome.

Absolutely gorgeous view all around from this fountain. The fountain itself is fascinating, but you can also walk up to the shore and have an amazing view of the skyline. Definitely recommend visiting when the weather’s nice.
