An Okay Birthday Visit with Some Missed Notes
We chose this restaurant for a birthday dinner. The staff were nice enough to put candles on our dessert and offered a Polaroid photo to capture the moment, which was a thoughtful touch for the occasion.
The food is generally on the heavier, saltier side Portion sizes are decent, and we left feeling full (
For dessert, we ordered the chocolate lava cake. Unfortunately, it was overcooked. The outside was a bit dry and had a strange, floury powdery texture and the crucial molten centre was still there.
The biggest disappointment of the night was regarding their membership. I had signed up earlier, and the membership includes a $200 welcome coupon. However, I was told it cannot be used on the first visit and is only valid from the second time onwards. The most frustrating part was that they couldn't show me where these Terms and Conditions were stated when I signed up or on the coupon itself. This felt misleading and put a slight damper on the celebration.
Overall, it was an average experience. The birthday gestures were appreciated, but between the flawed dessert and the coupon confusion, it fell short of being a great night.
