"Claridge’s Bar is old money at its red leather, white roses, “No Photos, Please” finest. The walls are lined with black-and-white pictures of celebrities frolicking on former trips to this Mayfair poster child for luxury, rare bottles of champagne are popped by high society types, and the glassware proves that it’s entirely possible to develop a raging crush on a scallop-edge coupe. Their dry martini is legendary, but if you’re not partial to glacial gin pours, order the zesty Garibaldi instead." - heidi lauth beasley
"Closing time: 1am Monday to Saturday If you’re looking to rebrand ‘drinking enough gin on a Tuesday to sedate Patsy Stone’ as ‘a sophisticated nightcap for two’ then Claridge’s Bar is our go-to classy candidate. There are black-and-white photographs of celebrities on former trips to this elegant Mayfair hotel and glassware that gives us big, sentimental feelings over a scallop-design coupe. The Claridge’s dry martini is legendary, but if you’re not partial to glacial gin pours, order the zesty, Negroni-adjacent Garibaldi." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley
"If you’re looking to rebrand ‘drinking enough gin on a Tuesday to sedate Patsy Stone’ as ‘a sophisticated nightcap for two’, then Claridge’s Bar is our go-to classy candidate. There are black-and-white photographs of celebrities on former trips to this Mayfair hotel, and glassware that gives us big, sentimental feelings over a scallop-design coupe. Within its achingly elegant art-deco walls, the crowd changes like a round of eccentric musical chairs, and you shouldn’t question why a Rolex-enthusiast in a kilt is belly-laughing next to someone who has seemingly just stepped off the Miu Miu catwalk. It’s something of a sacred space for people with significantly more Instagram followers than us, so be warned that you can’t take any photos here. We like it that way. It’s an excellent excuse to forget that your phone exists and live in a chic world where your water glass is always full and rare bottles of champagne are popped next to bouquets of white roses. The Claridge’s dry martini is legendary, but if you’re not partial to glacial gin pours, order the zesty, Negroni-adjacent Garibaldi. photo credit: Claridge's" - Heidi Lauth Beasley
"Nearby, Claridge’s is as stylish and Art Deco as ever—especially with its new, pink onyx–clad Painter’s Room bar. Pop in for an artful cocktail (say, a Saint Remy—a sort of martini inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Almond Blossom, also with apple and quince) amid a stained-glass installation commissioned from British artist Annie Morris."
"Claridge’s is in the midst of a significant reinvention that owner Paddy McKillen is unveiling bit by bit. For now, L’Epicerie is a new dining space for interactive masterclasses and wine dinners, and the new Mayfair Suites, from Irish interior designer Bryan O’Sullivan, feature turn of the 20th century furniture and a mix of Art Deco and Victorian aesthetics."
