We have lived here for a little over 2 months. The internal apartment broker Debbie did not tell us that our apartment (D-line apartments) are the only apartments in the building with no ceiling lights (does that even happen in NYC anymore?) and that we are not allowed to put up a temporary wall (although every other apartment in this building is allowed too). Our super is also an incredibly difficult man. He's hung up on me a number of times on the telephone when we asked him to fix toilets that stopped working the first week, fix a leak in the air conditioning unit that occurred the first week and picked up the plywood floor (which I stepped on and cut my foot), to fix two other air conditioning units that were not working in our living room (after telling me they were fine, they came in and checked them and admitted they were in fact broken and we had tried to compensate for poor air quality and warm air by blasting it on high this summer), and fixing the kitchen cabinet TWICE.Also, BEWARE: it is an energy inefficient building and running air conditioners and the lights you have to buy to actually have light in your apartment will cost you $200+ a month (electricity is not covered). Furthermore, if you plan to buy any furniture, you are not allowed to bring it in on the weekend at all and must go through the backdoor from 8-6 (NO parking allowed for regular vehicles!) If you can handle all these issues, no lighting, a difficult super, and a really busy characterless neighborhood, kudos to you. Its a hard sell and I am disappointed we moved in.
