Canadian-inspired smashers meet real-deal poutine beside the historic Senator Theatre. A readers’ favorite in recent Baltimore Magazine polls, this independently owned counter spot is all about griddled patties and squeaky curds.

Google
Delish! And they have really great Veggie Burger. My husband and kid got the Original they loved it. But my favorite is the Poutine! Definitely try this spot.

Google
Awesome spot for a burger and fries! The staff are super friendly, the food is super tasty, the prices are excellent, and the atmosphere is chill. They have a great selection of draft beers and milkshakes as well! Definitely a 10/10 would recommend! Get some poutine too, the stuff is delicious and filling.

Google
I was able to take all the employees of Saffer Plumbing and Electric out to lunch here at is was great. The burgers were delicious and the staff was first rate. Thank you!

Google
They have the BEST turkey burger I’ve had in Maryland. They are always consistent, staff is friendly and service is fast.

Google
Everytime i’ve come here it’s always a good experience. The staff is great and always nice. The food is delicious! I love how they have outside seating for when the weather is nice. Such a nice spot if you want a good burger & shakes. I usually get the clark burger and it’s always good! I tried the crabby fries today and wow….all i can say is 10/10. It was so delicious! The crab dip on top was perfect. Not too much old bay either, just the right amount.

Trinity Ann

Google
The burgers were yummy! The staff is kind. The milkshakes are pretty good. My first time trying poutine and I liked it!

Google
Good solid burger. Had Wake N Bacon with side of Crabby fries. Crab dip on the fries was tasty. Atmosphere was chill. Not too spacious inside, but it was fine for what it was. I would go again for sure.

Henry Lancaster

Google
Amazing. Burger options, staff, free refills; this place has it all. I got the poutine burger and it was delicious. The staff are sweet and understand and helpful. And free refills is the cherry on top. The atmosphere is pleasant with big open windows and a nice surrounding. If you’re anywhere near this Clark Burger you have to step inside!

Yelp
My husband and I were driving to NJ up I-95 from Silver Spring, MD and saw a bumper sticker from a place called Clark Burger that mentioned poutine. We googled it and he read the menu to me and we decided we needed to put it on our list of places to try. We headed home earlier than we thought and decided to swing by Clark Burger on our way home. I'm sure glad we did! Clark Burger is located on a little Main Street area next to the Senator historic theater. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly. We loved the hip decor. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food to your table. You can sit inside or on picnic tables outside. Because I have braces, I went straight for the Philly cheesesteak poutine. It was delectable! The brown gravy was thick and flavorful. The fries soaked up the gravy and was just the right consistency for me to eat easily. The cheese curds were large and perfect. Some got nice and melty on the fries. The shaved steak and American cheese was the perfect topping. My husband got the Alouette poutine with beef brisket. He loved it! The portions were generous. We gobbled up every morsel! Clark Burger has some wonderful looking local beers on tap, some canned cocktails, and regular and boozy milkshakes. The peach margarita was delicious! Next time, I want the Charmer burger and a side of poutine. I wish they would open an outpost in Silver Spring!

Yelp
I finally tried Clark Burger a week or so ago after a friend had told me it was her favorite burger in town several times. I love the location. Right on York Road (near Belvedere Square and just next to the Senator Theater), sitting outside in front of the restaurant on a pretty day is great. And the service was good as well (helpful staff, and they brought our food out to us pretty quickly). I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to burgers, and I also like trying a classic or signature dish when visiting a restaurant for the first time, so I got the Original Burger (lettuce, tomato, and pickle), although I did add cheese. Unfortunately, the burger for me was quite dry. Maybe it's their blend or maybe it's just cooked over for me, but I did find it quite dry. They offer poutine, but we tried their crabby fries (handcut fries topped with cheesy crab dip, cheddar cheese, and green onions), which i thought was okay. For me, the fries started a little too soft (I prefer fries a little more well done/crispy/crunchy) and then just got softer once they sat under the weight and moisture of the crab dip. I had a fun and delicious passionfruit lemonade, which - weirdly - was probably my favorite part of the meal. I love the location and the outdoor dining, but I just didn't love the food, unfortunately. For me, it's just not a burger I'll crave.

Yelp
POUTINE Plus!!! Loved it. Amazing service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Connected to the Senator Theater and beers on tap. I skipped the burgers that make up their name-but burgers exist everywhere. The poutine is the reason to come.

Yelp
Located right next to the iconic Senator Theater, Clark Burger stands on it's own as one of the best burgers in Baltimore. I opted to try the fish sandwich this time. It was fried beautifully and topped with an old bay tartar sauce. The fries were well seasoned as always. The crab dip was an enjoyable accompaniment. I ordered the truffle mayo and tiger sauce which should not be missed.

Yelp
Clark is just steps away from the Belvedere Square market. A smaller spot with a Bar area and High top tables. Open air in warmer months and a few outdoor tables. Visited a couple of times. The Full Mountie is the Burger topped with Smoked Meat. Added an extra patty. Delicious Chuck Blend patty with the Smoked Meat and Cheese Curds taking it over the top. The Clark Burger was also excellent. That said, the Alouette (Smoked Meat Poutine) stole the show. You get the gravy on the side if you pick up and that worked for us. Just coming back from Montreal, I have to say their Smoked Meat is about as close as you can get to what I experienced in MTL. Service was friendly and pickup orders were ready when promised. Looks like this is their only location for now. Saw a few Craft Brews on Draft. Don't miss the Smoked Meat Poutine!

Yelp
Automatic 5 stars for being the best, and in my mind only, poutinerie in the DMV area. Doesn't hurt they have solid burgers and brew too. That opinion has not changed ever since I got to this area! Poutine itself - A+ from having fresh cut fries. You get the classic and it'll look just like Google Images for poutine. However, there's plenty of other options that keep it fresh - make it a loaded baked potato style, add some brisket, hell even add some crab dip to that baby! Can't really go wrong with any of that. Plus when you get there, great open air bar space and the staff is incredibly friendly. Just go to the right and pick up your online order if you want, but sometimes I like sitting at the bar and getting a beer while I wait. And it's a great vibe for all ages - seen plenty of families as well as happy hour crews here. Other than that, the burgers are excellent - great patties and well seasoned. I'm a big fan of mushroom burgers, and being a savage putting poutine inside my burger as well. It's also the only place in a big radius I can get a Nanaimo bar, a classic Canadian dessert. It's a little out of the way in York Road compared to main city, but it's 100% worth it. Always bring some home from work when I get the chance.

Yelp
First visit ever! PS: leave comment after you enjoy your meal with fellow friends/family. Service was Exceptional Food was Superb! Ambiance: no yelling, AC, not steamy hot, or smell of grease. It was fun. casual, fast pace environment where you could have a conversation w/o yelling or repeating every sentence. My order: -2 Clark Burgers (traditional type). with bacon & house sauce). Next time, I'm excluding lettuce to avoid wet soggy romaine sliced wedges. 2 Vanilla shakes with Kahlua. So good I recommend and the traditional comes with vodka that I chose not to intake this evening. Other alcohol options available Great ice cream creamy taste towards the end. Extra tip goes a long way.

Yelp
Was craving a burger, and this place definitely hit the spot! The restaurant was pretty busy on a warm, friday evening, the tables out front were full. This place is very casual, you get in line to order then they bring it out to your seat or you can get it to go. We got the Clark Burger, which was basically a classic bacon burger with their signature sauce, as well as the gringo burger with guacamole! They were both really delicious, the patties were a bit on the small side, but we enjoyed them nonetheless! We also tried the loaded poutine, it was great, and we definitely want to come back to try some of their other poutine variations!

Yelp
Best burgers in Baltimore and fantastic service. They also have poutine!! One of favorite spots. Milkshakes are also great!
google avatar

Lisa V.

Yelp
This is my go-to burger place in Baltimore! There is a burger for every taste at Clark Burger. From the original juicy and delicious Clark Burger, to the curry flavors accompanying their turkey burger, this place is worth it if you are craving a burger with fries, but here you get poutine- fried with all kinds of toppings- with your burger if you want them. From a garlic truffle oil and parm cheese coating to poutine topped with brisket, it's all good. We dine in quite a bit- the dining area is cozy and great for people watching on York Road. They also have outdoor dining and are conveniently next door to the Senator Theatre!

Yelp
Finally made here!!! I just moved to the area a few months ago, and it's going to be a regular place I will certainly go to from now on! Right next to the great movie theater makes sense that I get a bite before or after checking out a flick! The place is not large inside but it's perfect for a quick bite and also to chill out with friends. I don't drink alcohols but seems like they have that covered. I did find it odd fries don't come with the burgers but it makes sense when you see the menu. Definitely amazing and I commend the hard working staff in the kitchen making perfect burgers.
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down favorite burger place in the city!!! I love the Clark Burger - classic burger with bacon and secret sauce and toppings. I always get the poutine - they have traditional and other unique flavors to try and if I am feeling a classic milkshake to wash it down. My husband had the fish sandwich (which was a hard choice since he loves their burgers as well) and raves about it. We always order delivery or pick up but the service is always friendly and helpful. They have a few tables inside and out so definitely can enjoy the food in person. Eat here and the. Head to the senator for a dinner and show!

Yelp
I've had Clark Burger checked on the bookmarks for at least a year. As a burger fanatic, it is my goal to visit every top tier burger joint in the Maryland, DC, Virginia area, and I am glad I got the opportunity to finally visit this establishment. I got the Clark Burger, with sharp white cheddar, smoked bacon, red onion, lettuce, pickles, and CB sauce, and enjoyed it. My burger was a bit dry, but nothing inedible or worth going back and returning. The toppings were fresh, and everything was good. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was definitely worthy of trying again. The Wife got the Wake N Bacon that came with a fried egg on top. Her review was similar to mine. She liked it, but also asked if my patty was a bit dry. We also had Poutine for the first time - Fries drenched in gravy topped with several curds of cheese. It wasn't my favorite, but it was definitely worth a try. In closing, I have zero issues with my experience at Clark Burger. They do have a really cool looking bar area, with a bunch of spiked milkshakes that I am eager to try at a later date. We also got our food pretty quickly, and everyone there was super nice. I'll definitely visit again whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite ..I was famished after a long day of work and therapy. I hadn't been here since 2022 but I remembered that I enjoyed my meal so I had to return! This time I got a turkey burger and fries..previously I had the veg burger which I normally eat when I'm out but I wanted to try something different. I enjoyed my meal at the bar since initially I was going to eat to go. I am glad that I stayed because Paige was awesome! Great personality and bubbly with all of her customers. I treated myself to peach schnapps and soda water. Great day ended with a great meal and great service. I looooove the handcut fries I will return!
google avatar

Erin G.

Yelp
I visited CB for the first time last night to have burgers with friends and it was awesome. All of us loved our burgers and the fries are hand cut and top tier. The customer service was also good and it may be my go to spot.

Yelp
I went to Clark Burger in the Govins neighborhood practically on the Baltimore City/County north border. I ordered the Expo Burger with Fries and an Elf milkshake! I don't remember the ingredients of the shake, but it was a wacky mixture (peppermint, pineapple, peanut bitter, etc.?). The burger was very filling, hard to eat the whole thing! The coolest thing, though, is (the reason the picture is dark) you are allowed to eat your Clark Burger food at the Senator Theater. I wanted to make it in time to watch the 3:30 showing of Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. When I got to the restaurant, the server was this really cute red-head guy who was pretty friendly, but the restaurant was sorta dead. I found it was just that time of day as, after the movie, it was TOO packed. Another of the few examples of local businesses I know of where the worst thing is a good thing for them: being too busy to feel comfortable (as a customer) getting in line and lucky to find a place to sit if I wanted to. If this is the case, you just have to plan appropriately to come at a typically slow time of day say mid-afternoon.

Trang D.

Yelp
The garlic fries was great and fresh. Tried sriracha sauce, tiger and Clark sauce. My fav was the Clark sauce but it was definitely mayo base. The Clark burger was good and I would order again.
google avatar

Mollie W.

Yelp
I rarely eat hamburgers, but when I get a hankering I go to Clark Burger. Located adjacent to The Senator Theater, you can enjoy your burger and fries with a beer inside the theater while you watch a movie. The burgers are cooked to order, come with all sorts of delicious toppings, and the boardwalk style fries are yummers!!
google avatar

jon l.

Yelp
The burgers here are tasty and they have a good variety of topping to choose from. There is ample seating inside and out. The poutine was good, but because the cheese is cold when placed on the fries you should give it a few minutes to warm up with the gravy and fries. They have delicious shakes too if you saved any room.
google avatar

Heidi F.

Yelp
I have wanted to try Clark burger for a very long time and I was really excited to see the one in this area. The burger was delicious and the fries were perfect. I like the setup of this restaurant of how easy it is to order and eat in as well as do takeout. They also have a really nice bar with a lot of selection. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean and parking was easy.
google avatar

Jeneen M.

Yelp
The burgers here are consistently good and the more I explore of the fry menu, the harder it is to pick a favorite. I recently started getting the crabby fries with my charmer burger and it's very quickly become my latest addiction! These fresh cut fries have the perfect dip to fry ratio and are topped with baked cheese and scallions! So good!!

Yelp
Excellent Burgers and Poutine in a Canadian themed restaurant. Take your favorite Canadian here for a little fun and nostalgia.
google avatar

June L.

Yelp
The customer service team was great but the food was expensive from a cheese burger too their milkshake each item was overpriced to me. I am not sure how they're still able to stand open operating all these years. I guess somebody have money to waste. But all in all great work team!
google avatar

Jenny A.

Yelp
Two people can get excellent burger and fries for under $25 including tip. That deserves 5 stars.
google avatar

Jess R.

Yelp
Guess I missed the opening of this spot. Great to have a location in Belvedere. Burgers (and an awesome veggie burger) paired with a shake (adult shakes, too!) make for a fun meal! The veggie burger is loaded with fun and filling toppings. The patty itself isn't grilled, but fried. The bun is de-lish. Presentation is simple and modern. Burger comes wrapped in paper served on a metal tray. Oh! You can also order and bring your food to the theater as well. Street parking is metered, but the side streets haven't been an issue.
google avatar

Jaxson J.

Yelp
Just had a casual burger there. It has good patty the the sauce wa so good with packed of flavors. Huge portions size burger. I love the different flavors. Well-cooked patty. The Aloutte was so good too and the gravy taste so amazing. The fries is a bit dry. Nice staff and very attentive.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
First time I went, it was wonderful! Quick service, food was great, fries could use a little seasoning but were fine. Second time I went they burnt the hell out of my fries. Worst fries I've ever eaten (and I've had in and out fries), not sure what happened but the fries are 5 dollars alone so I was pretty disappointed.

Yelp
This place has been on my Bookmark for a while, I finally got to try it since I was on this side of town. I grew up in this neighborhood of Belvedere Square. The Clark Burger used to be the Singer Sewing Machine Store I used to go to with my Mom back in the day. The area brings back so many childhood memories. I ordered the Clark Burger with Garlic Fries, my Hubby got the Wake N Bacon Burger with the Classic Poutine Fries. The burgers were tasty and juicy and the Fries flavorful. The service was fast and the staff was polite. I will be returning if I'm in the area and feeling like a Burger.
google avatar

Adina A.

Yelp
Delicious burgers. I had the Umami 2.0 with roasted mushrooms, garlic aioli and a yummy cheese. My partner had the Clark burger, a bacon cheese burger. Both were winners.
google avatar

Heather G.

Yelp
Best burgers around!! If you've never tried poutine you should try it here. Super thick milk shakes and if you're an adult they even serve adult shakes. Peach is my favorite adult shake here. Food always comes out fast and hot!
google avatar

Ken Y.

Yelp
I like that Clark Burger is minutes away from home and work, but I always seem to forget that. Not today, however. I needed a serious self-care break after dealing with work craziness, so I headed here for lunch. I like that the Greater Govans neighborhood has a good burger joint with options that suit almost any palate. This time, I got the veggie burger with fries. The patty had the right amount of "meatiness" and flavor to satisfy. The fries gave me the perfect balance of crisp and tender. Another happy customer.

Teresa C.

Yelp
Great place. A real joint with nice staff and delicious food. No cushioned seats, just a fun eating experience with other movie-goers.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
I am attending a movie showing at the Senator and Clark Burger was there . I ordered the Turkey burger and fries (they forgot my fries ) and a special drink for the movie. The name escapes me. The turkey burger was seriously the best turkey burger I've ever had. It was super fresh and had amazing flavor . The caramelized onions were amaze! I ordered the blue cheese mayo on the side and it was delish!! I wanted to get another one but i made the inner fattie stay in . I will definetly be back! Soon! Note: I went to sleep thinking about that burger so had to update my rating to reflect just how delicious it was! Since i did not have my food in the actual establishment, this review is solely on the food.

Yelp
Solid burgers, fries and service. Clean venue and good atmosphere. Menu has great choices for every tastebuds (burgers, cod fish sandwich, turkey burgers, etc) and good drinks menu (milk shakes, mules, etc.)
google avatar

Yelp
Clark Burger is a really solid place to get a burger or some poutine, especially if you're stopping by the Senator Theater to watch a movie. The main downside to this place is it can get cramped really easily, because there isn't much seating and the line that can form up sometimes will occupy the main open space in the store. This visit I got the The Gringo ($7.70) and split the Frere Jacques poutine with a couple friends ($8.70). The burger was pretty tasty, but a little on the small side for it's price. It was cooked perfectly tho and the fresh guacamole, lettuce and tomato paired well with the juicy greasy burger, with the chipotle mayo sauce tying everything together well. The Frere Jacques was super rich, with the thick gravy, cheese curds, and bacon topping the fries. It was maybe a little on the salty side, but not so much that it was a huge negative. For it's price the poutine was maybe a better value, as it was super filling compared to the burger. One would probably fill me up while just one burger would probably not be enough. To sum it up, Clark Burger is definitely a good place to check out if you're in the area. Come here with some friends (not too many) and enjoy a tasty meal before or after a movie, you won't regret coming here.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite burger place in Baltimore. I have gone here probably once or twice a month for the best year and always get the wake n' bacon burger. I hate runny eggs and always ask for them well done. They always get my order right and I've never had an issue. This is the BEST burger place in Baltimore, friendly service and great burgers! Will continue to go to Clark burger!!

Jiwon L.

Yelp
The ambience is fun and vibrant. Definitely a local favorite. We found this nifty place by accident and have loved it since. The burgers are so good, packed with flavors. The parking is a bit off because it's on the side of the road, but definitely a place to visit if you are around Baltimore and crave some burgers!!!!
google avatar

Nichole B.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place for quite some time, was stopping by to see a movie at the Senator and had a hour to kill before my movie. Decided to keep it simple with the classic burger and a Stella Artois. The burger was cooked to perfection and the toppings were really fresh. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the service was really good . They also offer boozy milkshakes and cocktails as well. Good spot to eat before or after a movie at the Senator. I def will return to try the other burgers and get the poutine.
google avatar

Caroline K.

Yelp
This burger spot is DELICIOUS. The staff is always kind and helpful when you are ordering or picking up. Whether you're getting the burgers, poutine, fries, or milkshakes, it's going to be great.
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
This place has probably the best burgers and fries I have had on this side of the US. Burgers are a bit small..BUT... a giant party in your mouth. (See pics) Beers are cheap..milkshake was incredible and the loaded fries with cheese curds, gravy, and brisket left me with a urge to drive straight home and take a food coma nap. It was so good. Package all of this and sell it everywhere.

Maia L.

Yelp
My new go to Burger spot! Not only was the meat tender but the Clark burger sauce is . 10/10 in my book.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Best burger of Baltimore, maybe! We were really pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of their classic Clark Burger and yummy fries. This is a cozy casual place where you can get one of their many different types of burgers, fries, and milkshakes. A milkshake definitely pairs superbly. Interesting, you can take your food into the theater next door and make a night of it! Or come over to the bar after your movie and get a spiked milkshake. I love that idea!! Staff was nice and the burgers were ready super fast, which was awesome. We're definitely going to return!
google avatar

Jude T.

Yelp
Went here for a friend's bday. Didn't get a burger, sadly, but did have some local beer and poutine. The poutine was amazing. I mean, fries and gravy with cheese is hard to fuck up, but they went above and beyond...and the amount of choices they have kinda makes it hard to order. They have a bunch of local beer, including Key Brewery, and it's reasonably priced. Staff is helpful. Too busy to find a table on a Friday night without waiting, like any good place. I'll be returning to try a burger soon because it was a good experience.
google avatar

LaToya M.

Yelp
The burger meat patty is consistently flavorful and juicy. They offer very creative and BOLD choices in special burgers. My favorite thing about this burger joint is the Brioche bread. When I am feeling adventurous and not the traditional burger this is the place. My favorite side are the crab fries which are delicious. Sometimes being too adventurous can decrease the deliciousness. So for me Clark burger cures the adventurous tastebud when craving an out of the box burger.
google avatar

CJ T.

Yelp
Yum! Okay, this is our new favorite burger place. My wife actually found this on Yelp. First impression of the place was how did I miss this place, it's right next to The Senator. I ordered the Gringo burger which comes with lots of shredded lettuce reminiscent of a Big Mac and just the right amount of guacamole. The bun was soft and buttery and the meat tasted fresh and juicy, not much seasoning but that's okay. I shared my large fries which is big enough to share with three people. Fries were addictive. I would say even better than Five Guys. The place is cute and they even have a bar to order drinks. There's not much seating so on a cold day be sure to visit at an odd hour like we did. We got there around 4pm and towards five it filled up fast. My wife and I are definitely going to be regulars.

Yelp
As many Yelpers have already noted, this Clark Burger location is right next to the Senator Theater and across the street from The Market at Belvedere Square. One thing to point out is since it's close to the intersection of York Road and Northern Parkway, lots of buses stop here and there are definitely sketchy individuals around the area, especially at night. Beware of your safety and your surroundings. The burgers here are definitely better than the ones at the fast food places and Five Guys. Reasonably priced for this type of establishment and the employees were friendly. All burgers are cooked to well done (no other options) and they do have a full bar which also serves alcohol-infused shakes. I ordered the Original Burger ($6.25 pre-tax) which comes with 1 patty and lettuce and tomato. Cheese is 50 cents extra. Adding another patty is $2.50. It was just a good, simple burger. The beef was seasoned well. I also got the Gringo burger ($7.30 pre-tax) which comes with lots of shredded lettuce (not a fan, I prefer leafy lettuce) and just the right amount of guacamole. The bun was soft and buttery, semi-resembling a brioche bun. The only negative to the place is the lack of seating and even the space inside the store to form a line. It is a very small joint. I recommend order carryout and I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Was craving a thick juicy burger. I knew I didn't want a fast food type burger so I checked my bookmarks and found Clark Burger, it was only about 15min drive away so I decided to give it a go. I got the baconator and asked to make it a double. It was a bacon burger with bacon aioli, smoked bacon and bacon coleslaw. The burger arrived about 3mins after ordering it and I'm glad I ordered a double because the Patty was kinda think, definitely not the tick and juicy I was hoping for. There was no bacon coleslaw to be found, not sure if this was an oversight or if they were just out. The burger itself was ok but not what I was hoping for. It was a pretty standard burger, maybe slightly above fast food level. I also ordered the large garlic fries to share. Those were ok but not great. We definitely didn't need a large because they were pretty greasy and I got tired of them pretty quickly. All in all I don't quite think it was worth it. Between the two burgers, fries and drink I think we spent about $35. If you're starving and just want a burger it's a good option but if you're looking for something substantially better than fast food this probably won't do it for you.

Yelp
Our favorite burgers in Baltimore! We love the food, the atmosphere and the fact that you can take Clark Burger into the Senator.
