My Favorite Dish in Paris? This Hot Dog | Bon Appétit

"Tucked a few blocks from the Place des Vosges on a quiet street just out of the Le Marais buzz, this tiny takeout window beneath a red awning and flanked by chalkboards and a small yellow sign turns out surprisingly ambitious hot dogs. The concise menu includes four beef options—Le Classic, Le Coney Island, Le Brooklyn, and Le Gringo—and a vegan Le Californien, with playful twists like avocado on Le Coney Island (but not the Californien), jalapeños on Le Gringo, cheddar on Le Brooklyn and the Californien, and coleslaw on Le Coney Island. The dog and bun are toasted together Quiznos-style, the buns are soft and airy in a distinctly French way, and the sausages are salty, snappy, and notably larger than typical New York cart dogs. The real fun is in the condiments: a tart cornichon relish, crunchy fried onions, very spicy BBQ, sweet Thai chili, Samouraï (ketchup, mayo, harissa), a honey mustard under “Les Exotiques,” plus the usual ketchup, mustard, and mayo—combinations are encouraged and the writer insists there’s no wrong choice. A casual crowd of students and office workers often pops by, and for many visitors these hefty, well-balanced dogs provide an unexpectedly comforting, craveable bite in the heart of Paris." - ByCasey Elsass

A simple little hot dog place that sells really good dogs. Hard to rate less than 5 stars given how well it fits it's role. If you're used to more American style hot dogs, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the nice bite these have.

Delicious hot dogs and super friendly service! Tried Classic Hot Dog - absolutely loved it. The staff was really welcoming. Open until 11 PM, which is great since few places are open that late around here. Highly recommend!

THE BEST HOTDOG in Paris! The service is very friendly and caring. The hotdog is very juicy, there are a lot of sauces and toppings that are added for free. Also, you can ask for the vegetarian sausage (which costs 2€ more than normal but still it is very tasty). Absolutely recommended!

Wow. Delicious. Finally found something to eat in Paris that didn't require remortgaging our house.

Amazing little place. I got the californian hot dog. Great vegan dog! For 7,5 (hot dog + drink), super hard to beat! I'm coming back tomorrow.

Satisfying and oh so good hot dogs in the Marais. Added the exotic curry mango sauce to the Coney Island, and plain ketchup to the Brooklyn. The buns were super fresh as well.

Great spot for a late-night hotdog. Delicious and cheap with friendly staff who smile readily and speak English well. It’s a stand, so there’s no place to sit, but you can find a spot to enjoy your hotdog a few minutes away on the steps of Saint Paul Saint-Louis, a place that is really quite lovely and lively on a warm spring night.

Out of nowhere I felt the desire to eat a hotdog. Well, there weren’t many hotdog restaurants and diners. I read about Clark Hot Dog and walked some kilometers to get there. The guy I met there had a natural kindness and, after trying to speak French, he switched to perfect English for me. We had a nice short conversation and I watched him preparing my hotdog. As sauce I chose mango-curry for my Brooklyn hotdog. And this hotdog reminded me of the ones I ate in the states as a teenager. Fantastic taste, good consistency. You need to eat one to understand.
