Clark Street Cafe & Bakery

Nice little local place with friendly staff and fun nostalgia of old Route66. It is a semi counter service. Order at the counter and they deliver to your table. I’m nota big gravy fan, so I’m not sure I have ever said this before, but the sausage gravy was definitely one of the stars of this breakfast. The other surprise star was the hash brown casserole. Normally I consider hash browns and especially in a casserole as a filler, but as soon as this one touched my tastebuds the flavor exploded. I could have eaten this as a full meal. The biscuit and croissant were a bit disappointing for a place with bakery in the name.

The food was pretty good. We got the Cali club, side salad, buffalo chicken wrap, and fruit. The fruit and salad were very fresh and delicious. The wrap and sandwich were decent. No signature flavors or anything special outside of an at-home kitchen sandwich and wrap, but still good. The decoration and atmosphere were very nice and well taken care of. Not good spot for big groups; perfect for 1-3 people and 4-5 people for the outside patio. You order and pay at the front counter, grab your drinks while up there, and they bring you your food. The guy who helped us order was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent cafe. The food is amazing. Everything I've ordered has been absolutely delicious. My favorite is their Pasta salad. The Cafe is very clean and fresh smelling. Probably from all the fresh desserts. I definitely recommend going by.

Such a super amazing place! The ambience was quiet on a weekday am; the food was delicious, especially the ciabatta bread for my sandwich and the cherry turnover was fabulous! The staff was so thoughtful and friendly we felt like we knew them❤️

Had a nice breakfast here with my folks. Everyone working was super friendly and the food was delicious. I had the homemade quiche and pops got biscuits with gravy. Affordable, high quality, fresh food with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

This is a cute little place. It's clean and freshly decorated. The coffee was good and my wife and I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. I had a yogurt and fruit parfait. It was very good. I was disappointed with the everything bagel however. They also served it with artificial butter. Ugh! They did go out of their way to dig out some real butter from the kitchen. The staff was very friendly.

Super cute place. Super sweet people. Good grub. I got 2 eggs and tomato on croissant. The hubs got the Reuben and hashed brown casserole. The croissant was light and buttery. The eggs were nice without being greasy. The casserole was creamy and delish! We stopped as we were passing through town on a road trip. This will be one of our regular spots now. Only note: no changing tables in the bathrooms.

Had lunch with a friend today, staff were pleasant as always food was fresh and tasty. Always easy to find parking Close to interstate 44

Honestly the best cafe we've been to in Missouri so far. The cream cheese filled muffins were so good we bought the rest they had for the day. Service was kind and quick, shop itself is a cute little cafe with antique coffee grinders all over Also recommend the biscuits and gravy and the turkey cranberry sandwich!

Wow, found this place in the small town of Sullivan. What a gem for sure. Drove 45 minutes but was for sure worth it. If you're in the neighborhood, swing by and enjoy this cafe!

We travel through Sullivan often, but usually stop at restaurants visible from the interstate. We'd heard of the Clark Street Cafe and Bakery and decided to go a little further into town to check it out. On our first visit, I had the Ciabatta (plus bacon!) and my wife had the breakfast croissant. It was evident the staff takes pride in their food quality and service. The seating area was comfortable with your choice of booth or table along with a self serve coffee bar. We have since been back for breakfast and lunch and had a consistent, enjoyable experience.

This place is a gem. Perfect place to visit while driving through the area. I'll be back to try pastries.

Excellent LOCALLY OWNED place, great food, friendly staff, nice quiet atmosphere. I only ate breakfast, did not try the yummy looking bakery items, I just might need to come back tomorrow for a sampling of those.

Small town delight! An unexpected delicious break from the long days travel. In addition to the historic charm and decor of the restaurant itself, the food was excellent. Service was polite, quick, and courteous. You have to get the hash brown casserole as a side and the fresh baked bread on sandwiches was super great!

Great food, quick service definitely recommend! They also have amazing pastry's. Try to go in off hours because they fill up quick.

What a gem! I was in the area and wanting a salad, so I stopped in here. While their sandwich options aren't wildly expansive, they had more interesting salads than most spots, and I opted for the St. Louis. A well-portioned, tasty mix of greens, artichoke, red pepper, onion, mozzarella and chicken hit the spot. While I did find myself wishing for more veggie mix ins and less cheese, it was still a wonderfully satisfying salad. The young lady and gentleman working the front of the house offered superb service, and their flavored ice teas are divine. I love that you can choose your own level of sweetness, and I'm sure I'll stop back in just for tea, even if I'm not hungry.

On of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch. Food is very good, the people are amazing. You can sit outside near the street or on the back patio, or dine inside.

My Sister and I enjoyed lunch here Halloween 2020. The service by our "pirate" waitress was exceptional. The food is delicious and the venue is replete with antiques and "cute" signage, even in the clean restrooms. We will return.

What a cute clean and super place to eat! We're camping outside of town and had a few errands. Decided to grab lunch and yelp showed this as nearby. I had BLT wrap with fruit and hubby had chicken Caesar wrap with fruit. Good stuff. Thankful for these local joints versus a fast food place. Thank you!

My friend and I meet here once a month as a halfway point for us. This is such a cozy little cafe tucked off of the bustling highway. They have such a peaceful environment both inside and outside under a covered patio with ample seating provided. We have had breakfast and lunch and sampled just about everything on the menu! From sandwiches to pastries, and parfaits to salads- this place is our favorite. We love visiting here! We often times are there when they open and stay until they close, and the staff is always so friendly and never complain about our long visits! Every time we have been here, it is so clean and so welcoming! Their parfaits and their potato soup is especially my favorite! They have wonderful coffees and teas as well! Their chai tea lattes are amazing as well and far better than the ones you get at Starbucks - for a fraction of the price! Highly recommend! Wish this place wasn't so far away from me, once a month visits just simply aren't enough!

Found this place here on Yelp, 5 star rating so decided to give it a try. Perfectly happy but 4.5 star. Hubby has Todays Special, grilled Ham & Cheese--big sandwich, hearty! I had the ham and cheese quiche, also good, lots of sides from which to choose. Ice tea was a bit weak and coconut cream pie though beautiful and tasty, crust seemed like it never saw an oven. But that's okay, like I said still yummy. We went at peak lunch time on a Thursday. Busy but not overly crowded, excellent staff! Be forwarned, a group of local ladies take over a section for their regular card game, :)

On our way to Chateau on the Lake, we needed lunch. I found this cute cafe on Yelp. Great looking cookies, gooey butter bars and pies. We grabbed a booth after ordering at the counter. The cafe is clean and really nice. My husband ordered a French dip sandwich and I went for the St. Louis Salad with grilled chicken. The salad was huge! The chicken was grilled and warm. One of the best salads I've ever had and I make lots of salads! If you are in the Sullivan area, I'd highly recommend a stop here. We loved it. Nice folks too.

Loved the bread on my egg salad sandwich! The spinach salad was delicious! Also was so glad they sold local honey!! I will be back!

The decor and ambiance were on point. We sat in their covered patio and it was so relaxing. The staff were so nice and all the food was delicious! Would definitely come back here.

This cafe was such a sweet little surprise. My husband and I were on our way to Joplin, MO for a wedding and stopped here for coffee and lunch. It was exactly what we needed. Such a quiet space with good food. The staff were super helpful and created such a positive atmosphere. I would definitely recommend stopping here.

Great lunch spot, with daily lunch specials. I have eaten here 2-3 times, and have always left impressed. Clean restaurant, with clean restrooms. Aside from delicious lunch options, they usually have an array of delicious looking baked goods. I noticed that they have a ton of options in flavored coffees also. Probably the best option in town for grub.

What a hidden gem! My family was passing through town and came across this cafe for breakfast. The whole staff was so friendly and upbeat-they made us feel like we had been coming here our whole lives. I got the quiche Lorraine which I could tell was homemade and very tasty. It came with a large side of a fresh fruit medley and baguette slice. If you are in town, skip all the chain restaurants and eat here-you won't be disappointed!

Stopped by on the way home from Meramac Caverns ! Yelped for lunch and it was amazing ! Most of the menu was on the lighter side with salads and sandwiches. The gourmet grilled cheese was great with the pasta salad and the salad sampler was a lot of food in a small space We got pie and planned on sharing so ya .... a piece was about 1/6 of the pie ! Soooo good ! I guess what I'm saying is STOP HERE ! You won't regret it !

Was great to find this place. Lunch was excellent and you need to taste the pies. I had the Greek salad & hubby had sandwich with cucumber salad. Decor was very quaint along with a very clean establishment.

We stopped here on the way to the Meramec State Park and had a fantastic lunch. Service was great and helpful and the food was delicious. We had an egg salad sandwich and a turkey Reuben and they were great. We finished it off with a coffee and and a cookie and we'll definitely be back. It was a wonderful lunch.

Five stars is exactly right! Warm, charming atmosphere with really good food. Extensive choices and the special artichoke/spinach quiche was pretty perfect. My husband loved his quiche Lorraine & the special taco soup. Employees could not have been more welcoming and helpful. PERFECT SPOT!!!

If you would like ok food that takes a really long time to make then this is the place for you! If you do stop in make sure the kitchen gets your order because they won't notice you or your group standing there waiting for your to go order. Not even a sorry for our mistake...

The boyfrand and I found this gem on our way to Milwaukee to watch Giannis. (Insert drooling face). Pretty cafe. Friendly staff. Great coffee. (Insert second drooling face). Highly recommend.

Stellar cleanliness. Quaint picturesque great personable service. Very short distance off I-44 but well worth the 2 min time to get here. Quiche excellent. Atmosphere out of this world. Lucky find for us thanks to modern electronics.

This little cafe in Sullivan was a fine place for lunch. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I had the California club sandwich and it was delicious. The hash brown casserole was the perfect side. My daughter had the gourmet grilled cheese sandwich. She was equally pleased. If I'm ever passing through again, I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

What a charming location. It has become a favorite. Moving down from the county left me without a great deal of amenities including a great latte! Found it at Clark Street! Even has a Superman booth that the grand kids love! Good pastries and food. Friendly people.

Delightful cafe. Delicious food and a good variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, soup and quiche. Bakery items look wonderful. Staff was super friendly. Sign the guest book! We were traveling with a dog and outside seating was available that we could have the dog with us instead of in the car. Worth the mile drive from the interstate.
