My mom purchased the cake for my baby shower from Classic Bakery. The cake was stunning, almost too beautiful to eat and once we cut into it it was mouth watering delicious. Many of our guests commented that not often the cake is as pretty as it is delicious! The staff at Classic Bakery was accommodating and attentive to my moms vision and were even willing to make last minute changes. The cake was truly one of the highlights of the party! I and all my guests really enjoyed the cake! It was my first time ordering from here and it did not disappoint. The cake was delicious, I was not sure how I would like the whipped frosting but I really enjoyed how light and flavorful it was. The customer service was great and quick to reply after I submitted my inquiry. I will highly recommend and will use Classic Bakery for future events! I ordered the cake for my sons 4th birthday. I had their classic vanilla sheet cake! We didn't want the fondant, it came out great!

We ordered Bridal shower cake. Vegan mango cake, regular two tier chocolate and vanilla cake. My daughter 8 yr old cake with chocolate flavor. Everything was delicious and all the guest loved the cake. Zahra took my order and gave me great recommendation. She followed up with me all the way until the last week. She is amazing!!! I always order all pastries from classic bakery and they never disappoint. Amazing service and they truly deliver! Love love love the pastry!

Ordered the largest size fruit cake for our 40th Anniversary celebration. The perfect cake was delivered on time @ the venue as requested. All the guests loved the delicious cake!

I love the classic bakery! For years, I've been getting my cakes from here. Although I'm not typically a cake or pastry person, their cakes captivate me with their moistness, rich flavors, and the way they embrace creativity. I particularly appreciate their whipped icing, which adds a light touch compared to heavy icing. My absolute favorite flavors are the dulce de Leche, red velvet and the strawberry shortcake! Aside from the custom cakes I appreciate how the have some ready made cakes for purchase for quick pick ups. They also have a mini cafè/ gelato right in the shop as well. Give them a try! you won't be disappointed!

I begin with the good things: Service and atmosphere are really fine. I was served twice from different associates and both were friendly and polite. For dine in, they offer everything necessary, if you wish to have your patisserie right there. The choice of baked goods and patisserie is legit. The Greek style Baklava was good. Now not so good things: I bought one Eclaire and one Napoleon. Both were with different cream types and both tasted not good. I think there is much space for improvement, regarding the cream inside the European style patisserie. The prising, in my opinion, is very inadequate. $12.97 for Baklava, small Eclaire & Napoleon. While I was there (30 minutes), on Monday Afternoon, there were multiple customers coming in, buying something and leaving, which indicates to me, that the place is well known and pretty popular. However, there is much space for improvement regarding West European patisserie. Especially the cream. In my opinion it should be much more fine and tasty. That will be a game-changer, that will attract more gourmet customers like me. Then, it will not be so disappointing to pay ca.$13 and not meeting expectations. I recommend to go there and try yourself, to have your own opinion about that place.

I ordered a birthday cake in the last min and classic bakery saved my life. The associate named Tina was outstanding from the moment we got there. She helped us find the perfect cake from their iPad without being tired and she was just amazing and kind to us. The cake was beautiful and also turned out to be very delicious. It was our first time at the classic bakery but it won’t be our last and will go back again for future occasions.

This is the second time we’ve used classic bakery and it was phenomenal! The cake tasted so good and the design was amazing!!

I accidentally showed up 30m early for a birthday party at SkyZone and so walked over here with 9-year-old son to get him a treat and chill. This place was perfect for that. Everyone was incredibly cheerful and helpful. They had a few cookies and tarts that we could have and made a good espresso. My son got the a few chocolate and butter cookies, which he devoured and didn't let me taste. I got a fruit tart and a chickpea cookie. The fruit tart was great and I'd put it up against any other bakery. The chickpea flour cookie was really different, flay and almost melted in your mouth.

This is our go to bakery for Middle Eastern dessert and cakes! The location is a bit out of the way but that does not stop the regulars and the newbies from coming here. Every time we visit Classic Bakery, there is always a line of customers shopping here They have a wide selection of sweet treats that are available for buying in the store. They also take orders for custom cakes and have a wide selection of samples to pick from. All their dessert are very good and we have a few that we get from here regularly. A few of our favorites are: Napoleon (both cream and custard filling) Chickpea cookies (Nan-e nokhodchi) - get a whole box! Lace cookies Raisin cookies Kourabiedes The staff is very helpful and are always ready to provide recommendations if needed. A must visit spot for sweet treats!

We ordered some cupcakes from here for our daughter's 11th birthday. They came highly recommended from some friends that lived in the area for a while. The cool part is that you can order online. When I arrived my order was ready. The inside of the shop was really nice and the display with all their desserts just made my mouth water. So much so I got a few Cannolis in addition to the cupcakes that I was there to pick up. The cupcakes were really moist and everyone enjoyed them. Will definitely be back.

The birthday cake we ordered here turned out well! We did get smaller sample size cake of Black Forest, tiramisu, strawberry, and raspberry all were very good too.

This place is my go-to place for cakes bc they always make it where it's just the right amount of sweetness. Never fails each time. I usually order online for pickup and they always deliver it on time. This place moved to a bigger place but still in the Rockville area. I just want to try everything on the menu. They have cake samples that are just perfect to try all sorts along with baklava and also savory items like spinach and cheese spanakopita. I ordered the cheese and my only complaint was that it wasn't warm enough. I'll still come back for the cakes though.

Jessica was amazingly helpful! I wanted a gluten free/ dairy free / peanut free cake (got two instead aa to not compromise taste - one gf one df) but they were perfect! My mom wanted a Harley for her 60th so she got it! Came out way better than expected! Tasted amazing to me (gluten free) it was light and airy. They all loved the harley gluten cake too. I will absolutely be back in the future, and thank them immensely for making a great tasting, beautifully crafted surprise for my mom!

I went there with my family and we ordered Napoleon, black forest and signature fruit cake and an iced coffee. Napoleon was dried and texture was hard. All cakes were not sweet. I usually like less sweet desserts but cakes here don't taste any. It is not like tasting bad but it just tasted nothing. Also, when we ordered an iced coffee, price was written as $3.50 for a regular cup. But the cashier charged us $3.95 per each so, I asked why the price is different. And the cashier reacted very rude and she said it is only $0.45 different and she doesn't have small cups for iced coffee and the small cups charge $3.50. This was ridiculous, then why did they write the correct price? And even with small cost difference, don't customers have right to ask about the difference? Her response was very rude. I ordered my wedding cake here so, I visited there again with my family but I would never go back there again.

This place was amazing in presentation and also customer service! They sell amazing cakes for reasonable prices!

My bf and i were around the area looking for morning sweets. Searched up this dainty place and found the reviews and pictures to be so delicious through the screen we HAD to swing by! As soon as you entered you smelled the baked goods they offer pastures ice cream and cakes of all kinds. When we went there was actually a couple tasting samples of cake for their wedding, looked amazing and they were super satisfied. We tried the tres leches (YUM) and these individual little cakes. My favorite had to be the mango the filling tasting just like a sorbet extremely rich in flavor. The raspberry one reminded me of this ice cream i get at this one location i haven't had in a while so it instantly gave me nostalgia. The chocolate one was the bf's because he's a chocolate guy. No complaints whatsoever just sad it was gone so quickly. Definitely coming back

We ordered a strawberry shortcake cake for a friend's birthday. Ordering online was super simple, which also made pick up pretty easy. Classic Bakery is now located in Shady Grove area, around Sky Zone. I walked in and loved the set up. The bakery appeared very clean and organized, and the abundance of baked good options blew me away. I was greeted and helped within 2 mins. They asked about writing on the cake and were able to do it very quickly. The line was getting longer, so obviously this is a pretty popular bakery. The variety of cake options, and other baked goods certainly makes me eager to return. It would be nice, however, to see more GF options, but was great that at least one was available. The cake itself was beautiful and delicious!

Love love love, this bakery! Their cakes are delicious and not too sweet- which allows you to enjoy the flavor without a sugar overload!

Nothing from this place is ever mediocre. Clean surroundings, display was neat and well stocked with variety of cookies and pastries perfectly arranged on display. Service was great. And the cake (vanilla cake with mocha icing) for my gf's bday was as good as expected. I got a few treats for me too- fruit tart, Kourabiedes (Greek butter cookies with powdered sugar), classic baclava. Surprisingly, another guest at the party also got tiramisu cake from Classic. Good taste run among the group for sure lol! Come one, come all, you gotta try some!

Found a new go-to bakery! And it's just down the road from Wow Deli and Love Sushi! Lots of different cakes to choose from. And the Greek pastries and cookies not only look good but are so yummy! They are a bit sweeter than I would make at home, but I shouldn't complain when someone else has spent hours making these confections! Lovely customer service, and they even make lattes! Can't wait to dig into the strawberry cake tomorrow!

Classic Bakery never fails. If you want a custom or larger cake, it's better to order ahead. I usually just order online. For last minute events, they have cakes available for pick up on the day of. This has saved my life! If you're just in the mood for something sweet but don't need a whole cake, they have small cookies and cakes to pick from. There is also gelato!

I'm not quite sure how I feel about Classic Bakery. I liked that I could place an online order in advance. The things I did not quite enjoy: the Greek Easter Tsoureki (bread) I ordered was cold and felt pre-made (as in made days before). The Portokalopita was ok in taste, but pricey for what it was. My pickup order was for 12:00pm and I purposely showed up at 12:24pm to give them time for my order; I thought by then my order surely would have been ready and I could grab and go. The employee couldn't find my order and then took about 10 min for my order to be filled. Lastly, it would have been nice to get a bag considering I pre-ordered $100 worth of goods. Verdict is still out on this one

I've been a customer here for a long time and they are always great. Walked in today for a box of pastries, the employee was kind and helpful. Pastries were all delicious of course! We had a mix of 10 flavors. Highly recommend, and this location is very clean and beautiful! I saw a custom cake they made, looks super cute!

I've come to this bakery a few times and they never disappoint! The bakery has very cute decor, limited seating. We got a few of the cakes including the tiramisu and Black Forest and it tasted amazing! I can't wait to come back and try more pastries!

A Montgomery County staple. Some of the best cakes, desserts, and Middle Eastern pastries in the area. Counter service is quick and efficient. Limited seating with a calm atmosphere.

Classic bakery always provides in a pinch. Needed a last minute cake on a Sunday. As all other bakeries were closed. Classic was open and had quite a few delicious cakes available. We've had their tres leches- amazing! One of the best! Mango and now raspberry non custom cakes- amazing! The sponge cake is fluffy and taste great. The icing is not to sweet. The mango/raspberry filling is on point. Sweet enough and light in texture. Easy 5 stars and a our go to bakery for cakes!

Recently, my family and I decided to check out this bakery, so we got their miniature cake slices. We enjoyed them! The texture of the cake was soft, and the flavors were bold but not overpowering (not too sweet but still delicious). My personal favorites were the coconut and mango flavors. Overall, the cake slices were very pretty and tasty; we would definitely eat their pastries again!

One of the best birthday cake places in the area! We love this bakery for special birthday occasions. The fruit cake is classic, oreo cake is delicious and nutella cake is divine!! They are always so friendly and accommodating. But be sure to preorder specialty cakes.

Can't comment on their cakes but went by to get coffee when the kids were at Skyzone and it was a really disappointing experience. Coffee was terrible - my iced latte was lukewarm milk with a few drops of espresso - and it was slow despite very few customers. They also lack any sort of breakfast type food as well. Cakes, sweets, ice cream and coffee is a weird combination. If you're going to serve coffee and you're a bakery, why no muffins, croissants or anything that you can eat with coffee?

I had found out last minute of a co-worker's birthday celebration. We needed supplies to cover approximately 20. I called ahead to see what was available. For Custom scratch cakes they need at least 2-3days notice, I needed same day and they helped me out. Ended up getting 2 premade cakes and added the inscription(took all of ~5 mins, 4 was me deciding). Since I had to go out for more supplies, I asked could they store them until I returned. They did with no problem. The cakes were perfect in comparison to their description. I will definitely return for future events! I don't really remember the exact naming of flavors. Also they have a wide assortment of other desserts, pastries, ice cream. The shop is kept neatly and looks very prestigious, but feels very cozy at the same time. I had a wonderful experience they get 10/10!

Classic Bakery man. If you're going to buy a cake, this is place to get it. If you're going to buy a gluten free cake, this is really the place to get it. Reasonable prices, great cakes.

This bakery is a 10/10. I got an Oreo bday cake last minute; they even accommodated my request to write an ~unconventional~ message on top. Delicious. Never eaten so much cake in one sitting. Will be back soon!

The little cakes were delicious. The cream puffs were delicious. The cookies were delicious. The staff were super nice. The baked goods were sold by weight, seemed like they just combined it all so I think there's just a bulk weight price. That made it easy. Liked the whipped-cream based/lighter icings they use. The tiramisu cake & the cream puff in particular was very good. Definitely would return! People definitely not following the line and trying to cut in where the bakery cases are so watch out for that- not sure how they could really police that further since there are already signs on the cases and arrows on the floor. I guess folks are just eager to get to the baked goods.

I stopped by around 11am on a Sunday to pick up some cake slices to bring for a birthday lunch. The place had no patrons, only one leaving as I was parking. The store is very clean and had a more airy feel than their old location off Frederick Ave. The setup was nice and worked well with directing a specific flow. The gentleman that helped me was great. He was patient while I struggled to pick out flavors. I ended up with tiramisu, chocolate with mint frosting, Black Forest, strawberry and red velvet. A box of 10 slices cost me $21. He packaged them well, taking care not to disfigure the delicate slices. The cakes were so good. Moist, not overly sweet, and did not have a ton of frosting (which I prefer). While Tiramisu is my typical go to, I really enjoyed the Black Forest cake. The middle layer frosting had a hint of cherry. Their strawberry cake was also nice. It was the lightest of the cakes I got. I highly recommend this bakery. I look forward to picking up other treats next time I'm in the area.

Hi. I've been wanting to try this bakery for years and today I was in the area so I gave it a try. I got a mix of things to try and nothing was good. Chocolate pasty had no flavor and was hard; birds nest was saturated in corn syrup, not honey, and tasted like curry and was not fresh. I don't know the names of everything but nothing was delicious. I really don't understand why people like this place but I won't go back.

I can't believe I've not known of this place till a couple of weeks ago. It is amazing, any item is made to perfection! And it comes with amazing service, everyone is cheerful and enthusiastic to assist. Worth every penny spent.

5 star service and baked goods all around!! So I was in desperate need of some tasty macarons for mother's day, and did not want to drive all the way to DC/VA to my go-to shops. So a very good friend of mine strongly recommended classic bakery. Convinced that I needed these macarons in my life, she made a special phone call...and within 2 hours, I had the most delicious macarons I have ever tasted: almond macaron with a white truffle raspberry filling. The texture was absolute perfection, and taste was luscious and rich without being overly sweet, AND I could taste the almond and raspberry notes very well. OMG...classic bakery, where have you been all my life??!! I also decided to purchase their signature fruit cake, which was also delectable and not overly sweet..simply perfect. As far as I know, they do not offer macarons daily, but seem to have it during special holidays, or you can always make a special order/request in advance. Yelp peeps..I highly recommend!

I'm incredibly disappointed with my entire experience. I ordered a (overpriced) cake for my wife's birthday party a last month, and I should have known not to hire them based on my first interaction. Their staff was incredibly dismissive and were more interested in helping the next customer in line. I should have read the negative reviews before choosing this bakery. They made me write down my wife's name on a note pad, but spelled it incorrectly on the cake. The frosting on the sides looked rushed and even had some areas of missing frosting. Of course our guests wouldn't say it, but when I took a bite of the cake I realized why they seemed so dissatisfied. The cake was very dry and seemed like they repurposed an old cake to make mine. I don't write negative reviews, but this experience was terrible from start to finish. I will not be using this "bakery" again.

I bought a Chocolate Nutella cake from them for a birthday celebration at the last minute and they were very accommodating. The cake was delicious and everyone complimented how moist the cake was and how smooth the frosting tasted (no clumps). I will definitely be using them in the future! Their cafe looked very clean and had a great selection of treats.

This is my go to bakery. I usually order online and select when I want to pick it up. It's always ready by the time I come in and always perfect. I've tried multiple flavors throughout the years and it's always good. It's usually not packed in there when I go to pick up. And they have cute cards and candles available for purchase. The staff there are always friendly and nice.

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!! Their treatment of customers is the worst!!! I wanted to order a custom cake. I don't live nearby, so I took an effort to drive over there. I was told they do not take custom cake orders in person. (!!!) They are busy, they have too many customers, this is a busy time, etc., and more bullshit. There indeed were customers in the shop, but I counted at least 5 staff members. I was told to go online and fill in the form. I tried to ask them again to take my order since I was already there, but was told NO again. I had a very simple order, it would not take more than 7 minutes to make. The time they wasted on saying "NO" to me could have been used to take the order. Luckily, this is not the only bakery in Montgomery County.

I've had cake from these guys on multiple occasions and it's never disappointed me. The ingredients they use always make a difference and it tastes amazing. Not too hard, and not too crumbly, the consistency is solid. I recently got a pastry box to try different flavors and my favorite was the carrot cake. It was moist, perfectly sweet, light cream, and delicious. It can be a lil pricey but it's def worth it. Also have gotten cookies from here and they are solid. Can't wait for my bday so I can order a big cake from here.

The new spot that Classic Bakery has is pretty cool. They have a cases of different types of pastries to select from. Whats really nice about the way that they price the pastries is that it is done by the pound. You can try a little bit of everything. There are cakes, cookies, and more. The cake slices are small enough that you are able to try a few and not feel like you are too full. I recommend the mango cake and the chocolate cake. The cookies in the next case over were rather dry compared to what we expected. There are a few tables and chairs to sit at inside the cafe. Even though their storefront is right at the parking lot, it might be nice to have a few tables outside. They also offer wedding and event cakes and baked goods!

My sweet tooth is always getting me into trouble. I am always on a search for a new and delicious bakery. This one is a hidden gem off Gaither Road. Remember, to take a left turn after the Monster Golf place or you will be wandering around looking for Classic Bakery. I kept doubting my GPS. Adrianna is as fabulous! She gave me time to look around and then, helped me select a birthday cake for my daughter. Then, she wrote beautifully on the cake and made it personal. I was so happy. They had all kinds of sweets, such as cookies, small pastries,gelato, and a wide variety of cakes. I asked the owner when they opened and it was in 1990, but at another location. So, you know if they have been around that long, they have to be good. They specialize in wedding and special occasion cakes. You can see pictures of the bakers decorating wedding cakes on the wall. That was really interesting. They do a great job, but when you are getting a quality product, you expect to pay more. My cake was $29.00 and all of the pastries are $14 per pound. The next time I am going to a dinner party, I will be sure to return for unique and tasty baked goods.

Really nice, fairly large bake shop that has anything your little sweet tooth could possible want. A little hard to find, but look for a yellow post sign when you're on Gaither Rd. They have everything from cakes to cookies, chocolates to gelato and even sandwiches and coffee. Beautiful display of sweets inside the glass case. It was pretty busy inside, but the staff was patient and helpful. It took us some time to make some important decisions, but we finally went with the Ferrero Rocher for me, some strawberry pillow something or other for the bf, and a slice of what I believe was a 7 layer chocolate cake to share. All three looked great. I think my favorite was the strawberry pillow cake because of the different textures - flaky top and bottom with a creamy strawberry center. But I have to be honest and say that none of these were really all that great. The Ferrero Rocher was the most disappointing - not at all the rich, decadent taste of this hazelnut heaven that I know oh so very well. This was the most disappointing. And the chocolate cake was also really just okay. The cake itself was moist, but zero letters to be written home as far as the flavor was concerned. They have a ton of sweets on display and I can't say I wouldn't go back and try as many as I have to to find my fave. It also looks like they do a great job with the custom whole cakes, so I really don't want to be too harsh here. A nice space with tons of potential.. maybe one day I'll go back and let them prove me wrong.

My family has been devoted customers for many years. As others mention, they really need to improve on their customer service skills. Wh Something I had hope they would improve since they moved. My friends were celebrating EID and I wanted to pick up pasteries. The young woman (maybe 20) not so friendly. Seemed like we interrupted her. She kept wanting to stay in the back room. The pastries were limited and looked stale. I picked up a few treats. Their baklava was awful and definitely not fresh. Mini macarons cookies were stale. We wanted to place a cake order in person but it has to be done online. Cakes: their fruit tart cake: a classic favorite for my family. We always order a few during the holidays. Speciality cakes: they are definitely creative and will work with you, so your cake is is done to your liking. Basic cakes, simple cake order, it all depends on your level of sweetness. The icing Some might find it too rich or sweet. The cake: perfect. Very moist and not dense. 1 star mostly for their subpar customer service, which seems to happen on a continuous basis, and how management handles negative reviews, through messages and posting to Yelp reviews. A professional business owner doesn't not take the "reactive" approach, they go take "proactive approach. Pastries: avoid . They are stale. Its evident that they dont make it daily, nor do they make enough. Baklava is just awful and definitely sits for a long time Edit: tonight, I was messaged by Areen. Wrote a very lenghty negative response to my review. He claims my review is nasty? How when its just the truth based on my experience. Its sad that some business owners cant accept constructive criticism. Instead, they will criticize the Yelper, instead of "owning" it. Pandemic or not, Yelpers should review as they seem fit. If you read, lower starred reviews, you see a pattern from staff. Its very sad, to see this. In the past, we had brought up to management but they are very sarcastic and rude. Seems like this business owner needs to work on customer service like others have mentioned. I had to block this businesses owner from messaging me , any further. His continued lash outs towards me, shows he lacks professionalism. Just look at the response attached to my review. I hope no one has to experience this response because I gave my honest opinion.

This has been my go-to bakery for more than a decade now! From cakes for big events like my quinceañera and my wedding, to smaller ones like relatives' birthdays, Classic Bakery never fails to make our events so much more special. They make delicious cakes and their customer service is excellent. I recommend them to everyone who compliments us on our cakes.

Classic Bakery has become one of my favorite bakeries to pick up cake for birthdays or events. The cakes here are beautiful and so delicious. The oreo cake and nutella cake were amazing. The cakes were moist and not overly sweet. I hope to try more of their cakes and pastries. The bakery is clean and brightly lit. They also serve coffee and sandwiches.
