Best Restaurants in Burien, Washington - Eater Seattle

"Here’s the perfect Burien spot for a boozy brunch, where one can soak up affordable mimosas and strong bloody marys with satisfying stacks of thick-cut french toast or shrimp and grits, all while gazing at paintings of classic Harley Davidson bikes and several old Hollywood portraits, including Frank Sinatra and Audrey Hepburn. Much like the name and decor allude to, the menu leans classic Americana, but always with a little twist: the country fried steak is smothered in jalapeno gravy, for example, and can serve a dual purpose as a hangover-cure." - Alana Al-Hatlani

I was in Seattle for just three days, and this place ended up being one of the absolute highlights of my trip. I went for brunch on Sunday and was so impressed that I came back the next day for dinner — and both experiences were phenomenal. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was incredible — every dish was perfectly prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Brunch was a standout, but dinner took it to another level. Everything I tried left me wanting more! What really made the experience unforgettable was the staff. Toni, the owner, personally greeted guests and even sat down to chat with us — it felt like visiting an old friend’s home. Our servers, Eternity and Rumi, were absolute gems: attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. If you’re in Seattle, do yourself a favor and go here. Amazing food, amazing people, and a vibe that just makes you feel good. Can’t wait to come back!

This was the first place I ate while visiting my sister! I was not prepared… the food is out of this world delicious! We each ordered and shared 🫶 The service was great, it was a vibe✨ with the music, people, decor and food. I’ll be back for more of those bayou jambalaya grits 😋🤤 they were 10/10 👏👏👏

Google
Okay so first of all, the name doesn’t do this place justice. Yes the food is “classic” AND it has a bit of an edge as the owner, Tony, has infused his Native New Orleans/Cajun flare to many of the dishes! We’ve eaten there for weekend brunch and evening dinner. I’ve even gone in the middle of the afternoon with a friend. Not once have we been disappointed by the food, the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, or the music selection in the background. One must not go there without trying the Beignets!! Oh and the Bread Pudding DOES NOT have raisins—just as it should be!

Google
The photo is of the country fried steak with potatoes and scrambled eggs absolutely delicious! I was a little worried about the jalapeno gravy but it wasn't spicy it was just flavorful. Which was very well done and jambalaya with grits. All dishes were perfect.

We came up for a girls’ trip and decided to try this place for Sunday brunch. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. I ordered the French toast meal and my friend had the shrimp and grits—both dishes were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day for dinner, and it was just as good. I had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside and tender, flaky, and moist on the inside. The service both times was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who took the time to share his story. Hearing the origin story made the experience feel even more personal, and it was clear how much heart has gone into creating this space. This spot was truly a highlight of our trip. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

Google
Came for a ladies cousins trip and we are foodies with high expectations...this restaurant did not disappoint!! The wait staff were so nice and friendly, the food was DIVINE! Literally you can close your eyes point at the menu & everything will be DELICIOUS! It was soo good we had a craving to come back again! This time we met the owner who was amazing just like his staff (Eternity & Rumi) It would be the best decision you've ever made to add this place to your bucket list for Seattle...WELL WORTH THE TWO TRIPS 🥰

Google
Y'all....I don't even know where 2 begin with this place. This was my 1st time and most definitely I will be back! On the walk-in the restaurant is clean and smelled delicious. The food is New Orleans flavor nd it doesnt disappoint. We ordered the Lamb Burger, The Portobello Burger, Salmon Bites, and Calimari. Everything was so good, but that Portobello Mushroom Burger is where it is. It will be hard to order something else. Zaya(sp) was our server and she was the icing on the cake. I will request her next time we come in. Thank you 4 a great experience and great conversation. Oh, they apparently have brunch on Sat/Sun until 2pm(I believe). Wait 4 a review on that...its coming. Happy eating y'all!!!

Google
I had a genuinely great experience here. From the moment I walked in, the hospitality stood out. The service was excellent—5/5. Staff were warm, attentive, and professional, striking the perfect balance between being available and giving space. It felt like they truly cared about providing a good experience, and it showed throughout the evening. The highlight of the meal was without question the jambalaya grits—an easy 5/5. Rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful, the dish was a perfect balance of comfort and decadence. The shrimp and sausage were perfectly seasoned, and the grits had a silky texture that tied everything together beautifully. It’s the kind of dish that leaves a lasting impression. The atmosphere was inviting and well thought-out—4/5. The space had a great energy without being too loud, with lighting and decor that created a relaxed but vibrant setting. A few small touches could elevate it even more, but overall, it made for a very enjoyable environment to dine in. Cost comes in at 4/5. It’s a bit on the higher end, but considering the quality of the food and service, it felt fair. You’re paying for more than just a meal—you’re getting a well-rounded experience. Final thoughts: This is a spot that really delivers. Great service, memorable food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back—and recommending it to others who are looking for something a little special without feeling over-the-top. Overall: 4.5/5.

Yelp
Service was great. I had the reuban lunch special and my wife had the prime rib dip. Both were very flavorful and tasty.

Yelp
Excellent quality. Lunch soup, 1/2 sandwich and small salad is a great deal too. Nice staff.

Yelp
Summary: Good food, great service, casual dining. I'll definitely come back again. Food: Everything we ordered was great. Two had to do with chicken (chicken waffles and half chicken dish) which was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside but still juicy when you bite into it. Seasoned well. Waffles were not eggy but still moist. Fries were regular fries yet crispy and salted just enough. Sandwich was good as well, bread was toasted but bottom part was a bit soggy. You can taste everything, no ingredient overpowering other ingredients. Service: Great. Attentive. Polite. Space: Huge space. they tables by the bar as well as outside tables. Good for huge groups. Bathroom: Clean Parking: Plenty, both street parking and designated parking on the side shared with other establishments.

Yelp
Came in first thing in the morning and grabbed a seat at the bar. The decor was stylish and inviting--definitely a nice way to start the day. We ordered Bloody Marys, which were tasty, but the bacon garnish seemed undercooked. On the flip side, the mimosa was delicious. For food, we had the steak and eggs. The steak had great flavor, but we asked for medium rare and it leaned more toward rare. The eggs, however, were fluffy and cooked just right. We also tried the biscuits with chicken strips--the strips were thin, slightly crispy, and flavorful. The biscuits were a bit on the dry side, but the side of gravy helped pull it all together. The hash browns were a standout--crispy and well-seasoned.

Yelp
This is my go to brunch spot y'all. When I want great brunch and great bloodys Classic Eats has my fix. Here's the thing, the staff is great too. Prompt, friendly, accommodating. The food is satisfying in that comfort food meets decadence sort of way. Tony and team pull out the stops to treat you like family. I always want to try new spots for brunch, but unfortunately for them I'm at Classics 4:5 times. Looking for brunch? Go to Classics!

Yelp
Wednesday June 25th, 2025 Lunchtime- 12:00-1:00 Food was Amazing! The Pastrami Sandwich was perfectly hot and delicious! Everything was perfect! Had an Arnold Palmer and it was good. It got busy by the time we left. You can park around the corner behind the Real Estate office if there's no parking on the street. I know it gets busy on weekends, they have a large dining area in the back and also a private room for parties. Cheers!

Yelp
This is our second time coming here and today is extra special because we celebrated my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary. If you are looking for a wide variety of food, great flavors and friendly, attentive staff, this is the place to go. Amazing food and beautiful cozy place to bring family and friends. Tony Hayes, the owner was there to meet, greet, smile and attend to customers. Excellent service! Worth a visit and you always want to come back again and again!

Yelp
It took over an hour for us to start eating after we were seated. It was Juneteenth, and very busy, but as we looked around we noticed many who were seated after us got their food before ours. We were only 4 people so I'm not sure what the problem was. The food was mostly good (kids quesadilla was salty and greasy and we got moldy berries) but the service and kitchen really sucked today. It was our first time and we were really underwhelmed considering the reviews

Yelp
Awesome food and a great surprise. You will be happy you chose to dine here. Interesting and varied menu...someone for everyone. An amazing find.

Yelp
I'm never disappointed when I stop by Classic Eats. The service is friendly & great, the mimosas are yummy, great food i've had the chicken and waffles, the shrimp & greats, the classic nachos, the creole chicken strips and more I can't name right now. Plus the warm atmosphere makes it a great place to meet up with friends or family.

Yelp
I felt like eating some hearty and filling American food, so I thought I'd pay Classic Eats a visit after a very long time since I moved to Bonney Lake. The restaurant set-up is casual and is great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The waitstaff came to us quickly and asked what we would like to drink and to eat. I ordered for myself a prime beef dip because I definitely wanted the fried shrimp sandwich, but i am not a big fan of spicy sauce. I subbed regular French fries for sweet potato fries because I wanted to feel healthy. I ordered a non-alcoholic virgin mojito, and it was so good and refreshing. My friend ordered the set of salad, onion soup, and club sandwich with lemonade ice tea. Everything looked good, and we enjoyed our lunch at Classic Eats very much. Of course, downtown Burien didn't have anything going on, so it was very easy to find parking on the street.

Linda L.

Yelp
I've heard many good things but really unfortunate.. me and my partner wanted to try out a new breakfast spot in the neighborhood but we were waiting for 20 minutes, no water no nothing. The people next to us were basically almost finished with their food when we decided to leave which is crazy lol

Yelp
The bomb! Great service! Great food! Triple Stack French Toast Brunch with mimosa -- a brunch to book mark!!!!
google avatar

Julieann P.

Yelp
best f*cking food! eternity and zaiah both the best severs! kisses to the chef for amazing food

Shukr A.

Yelp
Amazing staff, delicious food, family friendly. The walls and drink area towards the back of the restaurant could use some cleaning, other than that it was great. Would go back but would request a seat towards the front.

Yelp
This is our 2nd time in a couple months to visit Classic Eats and I highly recommend their weekend brunch. It's a combo of southern spirit, big portions and tasty/flavorful food. We were tired of regular breakfast diner foods and this place takes diner foods up another level! Their signature dish is the Triple Stack French Toast, layers of thick french toast with meaty goodness in between, the perfect mix of salty and sweet and that thing is tall! Today I tried the Biscuits and Gravy, it was flavorful and filling. It's kid friendly with highchairs and a changing table in the bathroom. My daughter loves the Mickey waffle kids meal. We've only had brunch here, but looking forward to going back for lunch and dinner. The staff is attentive and friendly. Check it them out!

Yelp
The food and service are always on point here. This place is for sure worth going out of your way for !

Yelp
This was my first time coming here! I now better understand what everyone is describing that makes this place such a great vibe to be a part of. What drew me in was the weekend brunch menu & the mimosas (!) which were 9am-2pm, the ambience, & attentive customer service. I arrived a little before my party & there was a bit of a wait yet it wasn't that long (10-15 minutes) before we were seated. Although they were super busy, I appreciated their ability to let all the customers take their time to hang out and enjoy their time there while accommodating those waiting. It was cool to see that the owner checked in with people too on top of everything he was taking care of. It was difficult to choose what to have on the menu, everything looked amazing! I ended up w the cajun omelette which was a delicious combination of chicken, grilled onions, cheese, & andouille sausage within the omelette. Their hot sauce upon request was a great addition! I am looking forward to coming back & seeing the other great options they have to offer!

Yelp
Okayyy shoutout to our friend bringing us here because why are there so many hidden gems in Burien?! This breakfast place is sooo good and affordable. It gets pretty busy in weekends so don't come super hangry or come before the rush. Everybody pretty much cleaned up their plates. I only tried my steak and eggs with potatoes that come with melted cheese. Our waitress was so kind and offered us many sauce options to consume with our meal. The steak was juicy and crispy on the outside. The potato's went so well with it and crispy as well! Usually my potato's always come soggy or under cooked. The best part was the $4 mimosas. Haven't seen a drink cost that cheap in years. Like I get it's just orange juice and champagne but it really got the job done! Didn't taste watered down or anything lol. I am definitely returning to try the Eggs Benedict. We were seated in the patio and it was raining that day. Surprised how warm it was in the patio. Service was amazing and she was very attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
This is our second time visiting this amazing brunch restaurant. I am not from the area but have now made it a priority to stop here anytime i visit. The ambiance is busy but well managed and great music. My food was delicious but the shrimp and gritz stole the show again. Filled with so much flavor at each bite, we added an extra skewer of shrimp as well.
google avatar

Hope G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places. It's 40 min from my house but worth it. Great vibe and the food is sent out as art work. I'll bring more friends and family. Thank you
google avatar

Tyreke S.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday and it was an hour wait for party of six. Let me tell you it was worth the wait! Phenomenal mimosas, food and service. Portions were large and well-seasoned. Let me tell you get ready for a nap! Great food!
google avatar

Araceli U.

Yelp
Absolutely Delicious! Ordered 4 different items on the menu, they were all finger lickin' good! The service! The ambiance! The presentation! MAGNIFICENT! We even got to meet the owner. We will definitely be back when we're in Seattle!

Maya D.

Yelp
Terrible service. Our server forgot about our table 3 times. He said he would get us a spoon and never did. He forgot to bring the drink we ordered. And at the end he forgot to put in our order after 20 minutes of wait. We honestly thought this happened on purpose. We were excited to try something new especially being from out of town.
google avatar

Wennie H.

Yelp
Big restaurant- bigger than anticipated. Seating out front, inside and outside (the back). Service is okay, they check in on you every once in a while, food takes a bit to arrive. Food wise, I would say it's solid. Ordered the bbq chicken salad and it had a huge amount of fried onions and diced chicken- the two best parts. Onions were fried lightly and didn't feel heavy, salad was very fresh. Partner ordered- steak w/ asparagus and sweet potato puree and seafood medley (in a sauce). This was pretty good, steak was done well.

Sheri T.

Yelp
Service. Sat us by the kitchen and then didn't take our order and when he did, mixed it up. Not a place I want to return to...

DeNise M.

Yelp
They are Amazing. Best Breakfast Potatoes EVER! WAIT staff is Great. Eternity is Phenomenal.
google avatar

Tina N.

Yelp
If you're looking for southern breakfast food you definitely need to go here. The flavors of the dishes are incredible and the service is great. I've been here before and each time I try a different dish it never disappoints. 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Lex D.

Yelp
I am mad at myself for not trying this place. It's been there for 8 years and I've driven past it or patronized surrounding businesses. Everything was fresh am 10 outta 10. The service was impeccable, the food sublime!! Support non- chain local small businesses. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Terry F.

Yelp
Food is fresh, employees are attentive, it's our new Friday stop for dinner. The owner is on site and will stop to check on you as well as remembering you making you feel very comfortable.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Wowww I honestly never had good soul food in Seattle, this spot is the spot! I'm telling you those shrimp n grits had my azz in a chokehold and I don't even like shrimp!!! I would've got chicken n grits lol overall amazing food, service was spectacular I loved seeing how many workers there are lol. And they all look good! I had to bookmark the cafe in my Apple Maps lol can't wait to bring my mom here!!
google avatar

Lorraine P.

Yelp
It's my second time having breakfast here in the last 5 weeks. The first time, I had shrimp and grits. It was very good and I normally lean to the sweet version. This savory version is smooth and flavorful. Today I had the pancake combo. I'm not a fan. The pancake was too thick for me. The sausage and eggs were fresh. Oh and the mimosas are wonderful. I don't get cheap champagne headaches. What I've noticed about this restaurant is that service is excellent. The timing for check ins, accurate orders and a pleasant demeanor are always just right.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to Seattle for a trip with friends, found this spot near our AirBnB and it was the highlight of our weekend. Owner was fantastic and very accommodating to our large party. The waiter was super friendly and always checked in on us. I got the country fried steak and my wife got the strawberry waffles. The country fried steak was fantastic! The gravy they put on top is to die for, seriously so good. Eggs were cooked perfectly and hash browns always hit. Got a piece of my wife's strawberry waffles towards the end and they were good but I was still wanting more steak! Overall if I was ever back in Seattle area this would be the first place I come to. So thankful we had this place as the highlight of our weekend
google avatar

Gerry H.

Yelp
this place always has such good service - their staff are so nice the food is amazing - huge portions, and very tasty i've tried something new on their menu every time we've gone here and i've never gone away disappointed parking out back

Annie D.

Yelp
Brunch was so good! Drinks and food were delicious. Staff were attentive and friendly, and everything came out quickly even on a pretty busy weekend morning. Bathrooms are very clean and there's plenty of street parking close by. Will definitely be coming back

Yolanda G.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the owner was friendly and inviting. Definitely recommend and come hungry!
google avatar

Chelle G.

Yelp
I am so conflicted about leaving this review. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious however the gnats were ridiculous. My girlfriends and I were swatting gnats during the entire meal. They have to get an exterminator in to stop the problem.
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Like this place a lot, especially for a weekend brunch. The scrambles and omelettes are great and don't miss having a Bloody Mary or Mimosa if that is your jam. For those who venture here for dinner their bar and wine selection are impressive. Service is attentive and friendly too. The Burien restaurant scene has come a long way in the last decade and Classic Eats is one of the many reasons why.
google avatar

Traci J.

Yelp
I was able to snag a table in the bar vs sitting in the main dining room. Somehow it always seems chaotic back there...Fantastic service and enjoyed my cocktails and meal while catching up with a friend. Server assured me that the zesty wings were not spicy - they weren't, but I think I would have liked a chicken breast or strips so I could get a bite together with the waffle. All in all, a good time and a place I'd come back to again.
google avatar

Lana W.

Yelp
This is the cutest little spot in downtown Burien. The decor is nice, and the food is great. Had cheese grits, and the salmon crusted salad. Both are delicious- can't wait to try their brunch!
google avatar

Denise S.

Yelp
Our family was visiting from out of town and we decided to give Classic Eats a try. The patio and front bar area was hopping as it was early for dinner, so that's a good sign. Our server was a character and was great. The food was solid. Nothing too fancy, but solid. The only ding was the mashed potatoes that came with my mother-in-law's salmon entrée were not hot. They were like, room temperature. The warm cookie skillet was a nice way to end the meal. It wasn't vanilla bean ice cream (no flecks), but it hit the spot.
google avatar

Jane N.

Yelp
Good food great service. Not happy about the charge for using a credit card. That should have been announced.
google avatar

Clayton J.

Yelp
Came back and had the Prime Dip. When it came, the cup of Au Jus was only half full, It's a dip, you have to know that won't fly. After half the sandwich was gone, so was the dip. I requested a new cup of Au Jus. This time I got a full cup of Au Jus and noticed that I was charged for it. Really, broth should be free, especially when you shorted the original portion. Again, the food here, when hot and fresh is amazing, but this last visit was not nearly as impressive as my original trip. Charge a fair price for a meal, but don't nickel or dime people. I'll give the business he benefit of the doubt on this experience, but another weak outing will drop my review to 3 stars.

Katerrina M.

Yelp
It was our first time there and seems like they have new workers because they looked confused too lol . But lucky one of the server was very good and also let us switched table because the one we were on was unstable . It was crazy busy but it's understandable because everything was just delicious and amazing.
google avatar

Briana M.

Yelp
On a cold, sunny Saturday morning my little one and I met a dear friend in Burien and we wanted Brunch. Our initial choice was packed and the wait for it was an hour and a half. I'm so glad it was because I'd never experience THE BRUNCH at Classic Eats. I didn't even know it was available. The food! I ordered the chicken and waffles. The crispiness of the chicken(seasoned to perfection) was astounding whilst the meat inside remained tender and juicy. The waffles had some weight to them a much heavier dough a cake-like consistency(paired with syrup) it's a winner. My little got a short stack and a side of sausage that he absolutely obliterated. Our friend chose the original Breakfast with a side of cheese grits and she wouldn't stop about how creamy and delicious they were. The drinks. We ordered 2 of the double mimosas each ($8 apiece). The prickly pear was divine and I cannot remember what the other flavor is for the life of me but I know the syrup turned the champagne a light pink. Delectable! The woman that was our server was attentive and giving. Handling no less than 3 fully loaded tables as well as a back room and she still took the time to give her opinion and suggestions. Thank you so much. The feel of this restaurant is a place you can relax., breathe easy and enjoy good eats. You can not go wrong with this menu or the ambience. A salute is in order for the care and camaraderie of this team.

Eric S.

Yelp
Great Food. Excellent Service. Easy parking. We had a great experience, and we're looking forward to going back!

Yelp
I'm writing this while still sitting in our booth because it's urgent that people know about this place!!! We were able to get a seat immediately. Our server was attentive and friendly. I had a prickly pear $4 mimosa that was so refreshing. However... the real star of our visit was the biscuis with creole chicken strips!! I got the biscuits and gravy, which were 5/5 for being delicious. But hot damn- my fiancé's order of biscuits with creole Chicken strips was a 10/5!!!! I kept sneaking bites of him and abolsutely had some FoMo! The classic biscuits and gravy were very homey and had amazing familiar flavor where as his was so unique and packed a punch all over my taste buds.

Yelp
Delicious waffle with excellent friendly service! Wonderful atmosphere. Love all the artwork.
