Google
heaven sent after walking to and from the Sankaty Lighthouse... no place to seat, eat or drink at the lighthouse... the sandwich shop is conveniently located right across the WAVE bus stop (on round about aka rotary)... servings are generous... outdoor seating... nice and quiet... will come back on my next Nantucket visit

Boris Maillard

Google
A very efficient and effective staff, fresh products delivered very quickly. Gluten-free and vegan options. A small deck to eat and rest a little before to go to the beach or take your bikes to the bike paths. Excellent lemon cake to finish the lunch. Good overall experience.

Jan Siderius

Google
Really good stop with your bike. Lovely and efficient cafe with nice staff. I recommend a walk on the beach after lunch!

Chris Lopez

Google
We loved it! We each got a sandwich and shared some chips. They even had gluten free bread for my friend. I got the Roast Beef with the works. The cucumber, carrots and house sauce were fantastic! Service was super fast and the place is just darn cute.

Jeffrey Kaplan

Google
A wonderful surprise! The atmosphere was good and after the rush I got a nice spot to enjoy my sandwich. Very friendly staff. Very tasty and unique sandwiches as I love a good hearty sandwich.

Terri Willenborg

Google
Fast service, outside seating to enjoy the center of sconset. Best sandwich I've ever had!! Super fast service.

Susan Eiseman

Google
What a great place! HUGE and delicious sandwiches served at the counter, quickly, fresh and pleasantly. Cute outdoor seating area. Def would go back!

Kirpal Demian

Google
Sandwich was pretty average. Tasted like regular supermarket level bread, would have liked some better bread. We got vegan veggie sandwiches - $17 for supermarket bread and a small amount of veggies kind of sucks.

Yelp
Love coming here when on island. Able to walk or bike from where we stay in Sconset. Great place for simple and delicious sandwiches. Love that it stays open until mid October holiday. Quick and easy service. Great for taking away to beach or just sitting right outside at a table and chair. Soups are tasty too!

Melissa M.

Yelp
The Turkey salad and meatloaf sandwiches are legendary. A good selection of bottled drinks, fresh iced tea and chips.

Brittany M.

Yelp
Perfect spot to grab a sandwich. I had the turkey with the works. I would love to try the meatloaf next time. Special sauce was awesome. I really liked the extra veggies! Definitely go for the works. I tried the chocolate chip cookie too- yum!

Madeline C.

Yelp
good sandwiches but the chips were what blew me away. they weren't too crispy and hard to eat and each chip had so much onion flavoring. the sandwiches were refreshing especially the veggie one and i liked the generous amount of sauce they put on it. it was like a creamy mustard sauce due to the seeds. we didn't have to wait long since they were quick. very nice patio to sit on and overall pretty good

Sasha B.

Yelp
The most incredible food in Sconset! They have been doing it so many years and continue to get it right. They stick to the classics and do it well. Everything is delicious form the famous house sauce to the cookies. Service is great with sweet employees and ambiance is classic, charming old Nantucket!

Courtney J.

Yelp
Best most fresh sandwiches. Went here 10+ times this month. Got our order slightly wrong only once and immediately comped our next order with no issue at all. Delicious. So great !!!

Austin H.

Yelp
The Veggie sandwiches were AMAZING! One of the best sandwiches we've ever had, no exaggeration! Cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced cucumber, shredded carrots, spicy mayo, on the most delicious wheat bread. We biked from town all the way out to Sconset, and these sandwiches were the fuel that got us back. Thank you so much for offering such a delicious non-meat choice on your menu!

Shu T.

Yelp
This was the only place open in Sconset end of May. Sandwiches were good, but definitely not worth $15! I definitely can make this easily.

Mari K.

Yelp
4 stars for convenience, since it's right next to the bluff walk :) you can grab some coffee (they have iced!) and a sandwich or snack, and go take it to the bluff walk or the beach for a lovely lunch!

Mara W.

Yelp
There's just something about Claudette's. In the scheme of island travel, Sconset can be a "hike" to get to... but when these sandwiches are waiting for you at the end of Milestone Road, it's sure worth it. I could bathe in their house sauce with horseradish and their bread is so delicious. Remember to bring cash as they don't take cards. Take note- I was recently about to drive out there and quickly checked google which noted that they were closing in 2 minutes. I pulled over to call them and they said I still had a half an hour. It doesn't hurt to check if they're still open beyond what google says, and thank goodness for that!

Lori B.

Yelp
Popular place for sandwiches, muffins, coffee/tea, etc. There is an outdoor seating area.

Danielle K.

Yelp
You may be wondering if this place is worth it or special. While it looks unassuming and the menu is simple, the sandwiches are incredible. Better than the sandwiches we had in town. The bread is so fresh and the meat is delicious. Grab them to go and take them to the beach!

Whitney S.

Yelp
Claudette's has the best breakfast sandwich on Nantucket hands-down! And the lunch sandwiches are amazing too. I especially like the smoked turkey. And the service is amazing! I had a cute blonde girl who served me and made my day :)

Ali L.

Yelp
This place is summer read story book perfect place! I had the turkey salad sandwich with "the works". They roast the turkey for their turkey salad daily in-house and it did not disappoint. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich and he was all about it. The service was fast too. You can get your order to go and everything was super fresh. All Of the fixins were finely sliced which brought out the sweetness of the vegetables and it was the perfect Sconset experience

Leah P.

Yelp
Local fresh produce, I come here whenever I get the chance to on ack. Everything is made fresh as you order. Get the house sauce! I love the meatloaf or roast beef (you can tell it's made fresh). My husband enjoys the turkey salad or seafood salad! Delish! The breakfast is amazing as well. Eat on the beautiful deck, take the sandwiches to the beach or go on the bluff walk with them! Cash only, just like many businesses on the island.. adds to the quaint nature of the island.

Sally G.

Yelp
We picked up a fabulous luncheon. A roast turkey, roast beef and meatloaf sandwich for all of us. I personally ate the meatloaf and thought it was terrific. The toppings of carrots, red onion and cucumber are fresh and tasty. The sandwich was perfectly divine. I will come back again (probably tomorrow).

Adam W.

Yelp
The food is ok, basically the only place to eat in town. I'd give it a higher rating but the guy at the cash register is a condescending prick to everyone (the one with a mustache), so that's why the low rating. But I guess you can be when you are the only place in town.

Roxanne K.

Yelp
Great and FRESH turkey salad on gluten-free bread. This place is perfectly positioned on the bike loop for you to fuel up mid-ride. Take note: it's cash only so bring some bills with you.

Mark H.

Yelp
My friends and I sat outside here on a lovely day last month. There was a delightful mix of sun and fog rolling in, and the patio was packed with people out for a bike ride or a walk. I had a very good *turkey* salad sandwich on wheat bread. The smokey roasty flavors of the bird were intriguing and tasty - props for originality. The sandwich would have been even better if they were able to toast the bread (they can't, I asked) and I would have been happier if something came on the side, like a little salad, some chips, or a pickle. We would have bought something else on the side if they took credit cards (they don't...) and nobody happened to have any cash on us. Sigh.

Kaitlin M.

Yelp
Fun little nook to grab breakfast before touring Sconset. Good porch, and the breakfast sandwich was fine, it had a sweet vibe, but the breakfast wasn't super memorable and the menu didn't have many options, but the atmosphere was cute. Cash only, so know that going in.

Sarah C.

Yelp
I'd go with the 3* on Claudettes. +ves fast service, fresh bread, fresh veggies, nice ham. Close to the beach, outdoor patio (only) -ves $27 for basic sandwiches, 2 drinks and 2 chips. Limited menu - but I think they understand their limitations. No bathroom. Disappointed that they used processed cheddar slices.

Ali B.

Yelp
Absolutely tasty sandwich for a sunny day in Nantucket. The group ordered the veggie and turkey option. Added carrots to the sandwich for a extra zing. Claudette's makes a house dressing that makes the sandwich stand out. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a quick bite!! Purchased bag of chips which was a perfect pairing. It was cash only so be prepared as it was made very clear on the sign. A true local spot and that's why they want cash only - I get it! ATM is next door if you're not a local.

Alec T.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, we had a group and tried a variety. They use great bread as well! The guy at the register with the mustache was not very friendly and was a bit rude when we asked questions. Ordering felt like we were bothering him. Otherwise great experience and nice patio seating

Steve A.

Yelp
It costs a lot of money to get provisions onto Nantucket, so especially once you're out of the town proper, there's every excuse to offer a mediocre product at a high price. There's just no competition. But Claudette's does very well for the food quality and is really not a bad stop should you find yourself on the east end of the island. The sandwiches are definitely overpriced, but made fresh as you order. The desserts are baked there and are delicious, and actually not a bad deal at all pricewise. The staff was friendly and patient, even with a bit of humor. If you have some time while waiting for the next bus, I definitely recommend dropping by here. I'm glad I did.

Colin S.

Yelp
In the not too distant future of teleportation and personal flying cars, Claudette's will probably be bumped down to a 2-star rating. In 2010, however, convenience plays an important role. Why travel all the way into town when there is a perfectly capable sandwich to feed your hunger right there in 'Sconset? Yeah it's $9 and you can probably get a better sando for less somewhere else, but with the cost of transportation, this isn't really that bad of a deal. It's also a really great sandwich, meaty and thick--it's better than most you will find on Broad Street. The biggest downer is definitely the hours. Claudette's closes between 3-4pm everyday at a seemingly arbitrary time within that range. I can't tell you how many times I have been thwarted by this. I mean, come on, you can't possibly be making enough cash in 4 hours everyday to stay in business on Nantucket. Just stay open for a few more hours and make more money. That's what I would do! I guess if you do live on the other end of Milestone, there probably is not much use for Claudette's. Oh well, they probably didn't want your business anyways.

Katherine E.

Yelp
Claudette's is super convenient if you are just stopping by Sconset. $9, but the sandwiches are enormous, stuffed with super fresh veggies, the house sauce is nice, and the wheat bread is soft and tasty. They also sell many flavors of Nantucket Nectars and Cape Cod chips to round out your meal. The sandwiches come out of pretty quickly and the staff is nice. Also, as an added convenience, the beach is a very short walk from the shop.

Mark W.

Yelp
When I go to a new place, I try to order food the way that the restaurant makes it. My roast beef sandwich with "the works" was amazing. It was not the fanciest meal I ate while in Nantucket, but it was the tastiest.

David G.

Yelp
A 'Sconset institution. Nice enough sandwiches. But over priced even by 'Sconset standards. And sandwiches are vastly inferior to Somethings Natural. .

Darrin L.

Yelp
Biked out from the busyness of Nantucket and stopped at this small shop for lunch. The sandwich was incredible! My wife got the roast beef and I got the smoked turkey. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. And the folks running the store were super nice. No question this will be a regular stop each time we are back!

johnny d.

Yelp
Claudettes offers some good quality ingredients and I liked that. My breakfast sandwich was quite good. Prices are just a tad higher ($1-2) than they should be, but not outrageous like some other ACK establishments. So that's good. Service was fine. Atmosphere is quaint. Good outdoor seating for a nice summer day. They lose half a star for prices and half a star for cash only status, always an extremely lame policy for almost any business in this day and age.

Art B.

Yelp
Terrible experience at Claudette's on August 10. After waiting in line outside and giving my order to the girl at the register at least three times she overcharged me $15.42 instead of $11.42. When I questioned the amount she still seemed confused. I had to wait an inordinate amount of time with everyone else having ordered and received their food way before I received mine. When I received my food no utensils were included after I had asked for a knife for my cream cheese (which I never received). I asked for utensils and Claudette's response was, "What kind?" Lastly, when I finally received my food my order was totally botched. I was very disappointed and told the staff I will never come back. Horrible first eating experience on Nantucket.

Allyssa R.

Yelp
Love love love! My favorite place to go on a hot summer day! They have a limited menu so keep that in mind, but the sandwiches they have are fresh, refreshing, and they do not skimp on the fillings.

Sara S.

Yelp
Claudette's was the perfect stop for a sandwich during my Nantucket bike ride today. You could create your own sandwich on whole wheat bread, and they had so many fixings that you could put inside your sandwich: cucumbers, onions, lettuce, carrots, and more. By the cash register they keep a variety of homemade baked goods that are really hard to resist! *They are a cash only store.

M P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a light lunch with my mother. Mom attempted to clarify the sandwich "fixings" and the guy at the register popped off with, "Well if you could read the board, you'd see that...". Two sandwiches, two bags of chips & two drinks later, we walk out $31 lighter with a decent roast beef and a tasteless seafood salad for lunch. So sad!! I've been looking forward to my first trip to Claudette's. It's been my last. Update: talked to a friend who went in with her daughter & they said the same thing. Very rude service & decent but overpriced food. Pack a picnic lunch instead!

Caela L.

Yelp
Great for a quick bite for breakfast. Just the basics for breakfast, like egg sandwiches or premade danishes. Nothing fancy but constantly busy due to the demand in the area. Great, but expensive stop in 'sconset.

Morgan L.

Yelp
Very limited menu, only wheat bread choice for lunch. Only offers cold sandwiches. Mediocre sandwich.

Tex M.

Yelp
Sandwiches at Sconset's Claudette's cafe boring and overpriced and NONE available hot: have microwaves hit the East Coast yet? Meatloaf with cheese served COLD is deplorable!

Benjamin M.

Yelp
When there's a line out the door, you expect it to be good. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were boring. I don't mind paying for good quality, but those sandwiches are expensive because there's nothing else around. The meat was damp, and the bread tasted like cardboard. My wife wouldn't even eat it and she's not particularly difficult. If you're going to Sconset, pack a lunch.

James R.

Yelp
Just plain good. Sandwiches were good, prices were reasonable for Nantucket, and its really only one of two places in 'Sconset so it was a relief that is was good. It was a little cramped outside but we didn't have to wait long and its right up the street from the beach.

Brian S.

Yelp
Pick a nice day, bike or drive into this beautiful little village, and stop in to eat outdoors-a fantastic sandwich. Quiet, fresh ingredients, very nice breads...nothing fancy, but just good. Love to lunch here.

Marie H.

Yelp
Claudette's is definitely a serious locals favorite for good reason! Worth the trip to Sconset to get fresh ingredients, with special sauce, Nantucket Nectars, and Cape Cod chips. Excellent staff and speedy service. A true gem. Can't wait for them to open soon.

LIsa W.

Yelp
Might as well go here if you are hungry for a very casual porch lunch. Maybe five items on the menu. Save money and split a sandwich they are big. All sandwiches. Decent sandwich- not earthshattering but hey, there is literally nowhere else to eat a quick lunch for 5 miles! Very casual!

Alissa D.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for breakfast a couple mornings while staying in Sconset this week. I had egg sandwiches and he had muffins. Both were great. The coffee was a bit weak for our liking, but did the job. Customer service was excellent both days. Outside seating was really cute.

Joyce L.

Yelp
I had one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. My friend & I decided to split the roast beef sandwich with the works, it was awesome, & glad we split, lots of roast beef, it was delicious. Picked up a beer from the market next door & sat on the porch on a beautiful day!

nikki s.

Yelp
Claudette's is a must for anyone on Nantucket - get the veggie sandwich and you won't be dissapointed. I wait patiently for summer just so I can bite into one of these delicious pieces of heaven - my mouth is watering just thinking about it. A great place to grab a sandwich and Nantucket Nectars for a lunch on Sconset beach

Hope M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I bought two sandwiches and two drinks for about $25. We asked to have them for here and they said that was ok with a simle, but we recieved them to go. We sat on the pretty porch and ate it there without a complaint. The staff started putting up the chairs, moving tables, and sweeping a few minutes after we sat down. As a person who works in a restaurant, i thought this was a very rude. Overall, claudette's was overpriced and had bad service. But, at least the food was fresh and tasty.
