In the not too distant future of teleportation and personal flying cars, Claudette's will probably be bumped down to a 2-star rating. In 2010, however, convenience plays an important role. Why travel all the way into town when there is a perfectly capable sandwich to feed your hunger right there in 'Sconset?
Yeah it's $9 and you can probably get a better sando for less somewhere else, but with the cost of transportation, this isn't really that bad of a deal. It's also a really great sandwich, meaty and thick--it's better than most you will find on Broad Street.
The biggest downer is definitely the hours. Claudette's closes between 3-4pm everyday at a seemingly arbitrary time within that range. I can't tell you how many times I have been thwarted by this. I mean, come on, you can't possibly be making enough cash in 4 hours everyday to stay in business on Nantucket. Just stay open for a few more hours and make more money. That's what I would do!
I guess if you do live on the other end of Milestone, there probably is not much use for Claudette's. Oh well, they probably didn't want your business anyways.
