Tucked inside a beautifully converted church, Claudine is a restaurant that pairs a stunning setting with thoughtful, well-executed dishes. The soaring ceilings give the space a serene, almost reverential feel, and thankfully, the food lives up to its surroundings.
I started with the es calgo, which had lovely texture and depth, though it could have used a touch less salt and a bit more garlic to bring out its full flavor.
The lobster roll was the highlight of the meal - absolutely delicious. The bun held up perfectly without collapsing, and the lobster itself was fresh and flavorful, beautifully balanced by the crisp sweetness of green apple. If anything, the accompanying salad leaves were just a touch over-salted, but it was a small quibble in an otherwise fantastic dish.
The fish carpaccio was light, refreshing, and paired wonderfully with a glass of white wine. The sauce tied everything together, and the zesty pops from pieces of fruit added a playful brightness that elevated the dish.
Beyond the food, the staff were attentive, warm, and knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience.
In short, Claudine is a beautiful blend of elegance and comfort -a place where the setting, service, and food come together in harmony.
