Claudine

"From chef Julien Royer of Odette fame comes a classic French brasserie, which he named after his mother. It’s housed in a lovely 1930s converted chapel, with an open kitchen at one end and a bar at the other. Those with a fondness for comforting French classics will find the rollcall of favourites very appealing, from onion soup to vol-au-vents and baba au rhum. If you’re willing to share, then go for the bouillabaisse or the pepper steak flambéed at your table." - Michelin Inspector

Most of the dishes we ordered were unfortunately forgettable, but the standout was definitely the cod. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The passion fruit dessert was also a delightful surprise. Service was impeccable throughout, and the interior of Claudine is absolutely stunning. Worth a visit for the ambiance and hospitality.

Had a beautiful brunch at Claudine, couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary. The space was beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. We can’t wait to come back here for dinner. My only feedback from our visit is that, while we appreciated that our photo that was taken as a gift, we were a little disappointed there was no other gesture to mark the occasion, especially since we had to purchase our own desserts. Many restaurants typically offer a small complimentary treat for such celebrations, which would have made the experience even more special. Also, if I’m not mistaken, the head maître d’ (or possibly the general manager) seemed a bit selective when checking on guests, which stood out during our visit.

Wonderful fine dine experience at Claudine at their weekend brunch. Beautiful ambience, the free flow of wine has excellent pours, and we had the sparkling rose and the white. All the dishes we ordered were full of complex flavours and special touches of the chef in the sauce was unmistakable.

Such a lovely evening at Claudine! Service staff are really attentive and will go the extra mile to make sure their guests feel welcome. The food is unlike anything I’ve had. From appetisers to desserts, each dish was made with such care and quality. While it was definitely elevated in terms of execution, the dishes still retained that heartwarming vibe you get from homemade food. I highly recommend Claudine for a special occasion.

What a great meal to be shared with your family members. Dishes that personified the love, care and celebratory mood around the table. Special mention goes to the chou farci - layered cabbage leaves stuffed with plums, pork and foie gras. Beautifully constructed canopy of flavours.

Great service! Beautiful place with a great ambience, i and my sister dined in at the la terrace and it’s surrounded by nature which is my vibe 🫶🏻 very chill. We came on a weekday night so it was fairly quiet. Food wise, we ordered the sourdough , la terrace signature chicken as well as the pariterole for our dessert. Firstly we were both impressed by the great service given by the crew. With every dish brought to us, the staff would also describe what is in the dish itself to us. Secondly, we really liked the la terrace signature chicken , it’s so fragrant and the chicken is soft! The bonus is: there would be garlic pieces inside ,when you eat it with the rice smash the garlic pieces and eat it together with the rice without the garlic skin, it really enhances the flavour of the dish. I and my sister were really struggling to finish it, it’s so filling but so good 👍 The dessert I love!!!! But be sure to mix everything to get a bite on all the flavours of the dessert. Sourdough wise, my sister mentioned she love the butter!!!! Just that we really struggled to eat the crust of the bread it’s really thick. But other than that, all is good. Great place if you’re planning to bring your date or friend here to not only dine in for great food but with a great scenery and place to take pictures too. For reference, we spent a total of $130+ for the meal.

The restaurant has been built inside a church, creating an incredible ambiance and unique atmosphere. The food was absolutely divine – full of flavour and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Service was impeccable, with staff showing great knowledge and attention to detail. I could not recommend it more!

This restaurant is situated in a previous chapel and has a nice ambience. The seating may not be ideal as they have couples sitting in the corners. The butter served with the bread was nice. The onion tart is very good and recommended. The cod fish is also recommended. For desert, try the crepe suzette. Service was good. Unfortunately, though we had stated it was an anniversary celebration, nothing special was offered which would have made things more special.

Yelp
Make a reservation. It's worth the wait and price given the environment, location, service and the flavors of the dishes. Just make sure you plan ahead in terms of transportation if you don't have a car. Can be a bit hard to get a ride late at night. To be 100% honest I didn't have super high expectations because having moved to Singapore form NYC, the fine dining scene in Singapore hasn't been able to compare. The ambiance and plating have always been beautiful but usually I find the flavors to be lacking and overall not worth the price. In the case of Claudine, I really enjoyed all the dishes. Even if they weren't mind blowing, they are 90% there across the board which I can't say for any other fine dining place I've been to thus far. -Mozambique langoustine: dumplings are delicious and langoustine is perfectly cooked. The soup itself though is less on the bisque side and more... buttery? It was a bit too rich to finish - Cromesquis pork trotter: delicious but be sure to eat it hot, looooove the sauce that comes with it. Has a good kick. Comes with 5-6 pieces -Vol au vent: I think everyone who comes here should get it. It is absolutely delicious and spot on with the layers of salvors. The right amount of richness and saltiness. The pastry itself was the best part, definitely eat it before it get soggy. I don't typically like sweetbread but this wasn't overly gamy / offal like. - Chou farci: recommended for 3-4 people. The pieces themselves aren't big but it is SUPER rich because of the foie gras. So be prepared - Rhum cake dessert: I was really surprised at how balanced this dessert was. The cake itself is the right level of fluffy, the whipped cream is not overly sweet, and the orange (maybe pomelo? grapefruit) adds an acidic element and great texture. It's pre-soaked in rum but not overly so. They bring out a bottle for you to add more as needed

Yelp
It's strange to describe a church building "charming" but I thought the restaurant was very charming. We went here for brunch on the weekend. It was a mistake for us because we couldn't order what we wanted and the fish we ordered was too much for two. We got tired of eating the same rich flavored dish and didn't even finish it. If we shared it with 4-6 people, it would've been perfect. Unfortunately with the fish and one appetizer were way too much food for two of us. We couldn't physically eat more. I really wanted to try a course menu if they had it on the weekend. Our bill was $200 without alcohol. It wasn't a good feeling to think the food was too greasy to taste after awhile. And the waitress could've suggested a better option for us knowing it was only two people. I saw another guests eating the same dish but they left half of the fish also. I recommend going here for dinner or weekday lunch instead. But I did like the vibe so I will give 4/5 overall. For the food alone, they weren't mind blowing so I will give 3.75/5.
