Highlights

Claudio's serves up traditional Italian pizzas by the slice in a laid-back atmosphere, though its charm has seen better days amidst management changes.

When Claudio’s first opened, it was the best pizza around the area. Whenever we were in town, we would grab a few slices and then head to the carousel. We have been doing that every summer since. We came back for the season and the first time we went to grab a slice, the pizza was good but the service was questionable. There was an issue with an overcharge of an item and instead of arguing, we grabbed another slice instead of having $ refunded. The second time we visited, it didn’t feel like Claudio’s. We asked how long it would take to have a Sicilian pie made to go and once answer was “we can’t do that now” (the place was empty) and the other person said 1 hour. We just grabbed whatever was at the counter and took it to go. The third time we visited, we took whatever squares were available and some slices. We asked again how long for a whole pie and the answer wasn’t consistent. One of the girls behind the counter was rude and the other was trying to be patient with us and her coworker. I also noticed that the beer as a drink option was gone. Also please take care of the fly problem. I get it’s not

Could’ve give negative star if I could. Last year, Claudio's Pizza was my favorite spot. The staff was very friendly, the space was clean, and the pizza was amazing. However, things have changed drastically, possibly due to new management. The place now looks dirty, the pizza is either dry or soggy, and the staff seem unhappy and unmotivated. Additionally, they now charge an outrageous $4.50 for a small fountain drink. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Claudio's Pizza. It's a far cry from what it used to be. Instead, I suggest visiting 1943 or Brick Oven for a much better experience. It seems like Claudio's management is too focused on making their main restaurants fancy and luxurious, neglecting service and food quality at this location. Avoid this place at all costs—don't waste your time.

In 2023, Claudio’s Pizza was a hidden gem that delighted the taste buds of all who visited. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with an aroma of freshly baked dough and rich tomato sauce wafting through the air. The pizza was the star of the show, with a perfect balance of a crispy yet chewy crust, generously layered with gooey mozzarella, and a flavorful, well-seasoned sauce. The toppings were always fresh and plentiful, making each bite a memorable experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience that made you feel like part of the family. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an event worth looking forward to. However, the Claudio’s Pizza of today is a shadow of its former self. The change in management earlier this year seems to have taken a toll. The once cozy and clean restaurant now feels neglected, with less attention to cleanliness and ambiance. The quality of the pizza has noticeably declined. The crust is often either too doughy or overcooked, and the sauce lacks the rich flavor it once had. The cheese doesn’t melt as evenly, and the toppings no longer have that fresh, vibrant quality—they’re often sparse and lackluster. Service has also deteriorated. The staff now seem disinterested and unenthusiastic, resulting in slower service and a less welcoming atmosphere. On multiple visits, orders have been incorrect or delayed significantly. Overall, it’s disheartening to see Claudio’s Pizza lose its charm and quality. What was once a beloved local favorite has become just another forgettable pizza place. I hope the management takes notice and strives to bring back the excellence that made Claudio’s a standout choice. Would like to speak to a owner…

After a long drive from NYC, Claudio’s Pizza was an oasis for us. Too tired for a sit-down meal, we arrived around 8:30 PM and grabbed a couple of slices and a Caesar salad. Everything was fresh, tasty, and came out fast. We enjoyed speaking with the friendly manager, who shared some of Claudio’s 150-year history, though we unfortunately didn’t catch her name. Even as they were closing, they didn’t kick us out and allowed us to finish enjoying our food. This is a small, locally owned business staffed by locals, so if you expect the efficiency of a big NYC operation, perhaps you should stay there instead of coming out east

Do better Claudio's Pizza. Way better. I will start with the fact that the pizza is very good and the store is immaculate. Came in for lunch today at about 12:45, a comfortable amount of time after opening. Place our order, my friend was treating. Paid the check and got her change....well, most of it. She was to receive $2.72. The cashier gives back $2 and proceeds to tell my friend, "I don't have the 72 cents, if that's ok" Admittedly, being confused, we thought we owed the money. I stepped in and asked the cashier to repeat what was said. Again, I don't have the 72 cents "if that's ok". In fact Claudio's, it is the furthest thing from ok. I know 72 cents is not a game changer, but, and this is a BIG but, it is bad business. You don't have 72 cents in the drawer to return to your customer?? Great, take the 28 cent hit and return a dollar. You are a MAJOR restaurant group. One of your brands is not prepared to do business. Your employees are comfortably conditioned to believe that it is ok to short change a customer as long as they ask if it is ok. If you are to do this to 10, 20, 100 customers a day a week a month it's a small windfall for you and bears some explaining. I am well aware that this will be viewed as small potatoes and you have what is essentially a lock on the market, but I reiterate,; in my estimation, it's bad business and enough to leave a a lasting impression.

Claudio’s pizza used be pretty good in a pinch. I thought maybe it was an off night but remembered they have new management this year. I guess new managament means bad pizza. It was terrible. The dough didnt even taste like pizza dough: no elasticity and no taste. It was a major disappointment. I write this in hopes they find a way to make good pizza again.

I went there to order a pie and this is what I was served. When I asked for napkins and paper plates (which if it was such a big deal I would’ve paid extra for they threw a stack of plates at me) this is what I was served. I would never come back to this place AWFUL service and presentation of their pizza.
