Clay Pot specializes in rice dishes served in a hot clay pot, similar to bibimbop. The purpose of the clay pot is that, not only does your food stay hot longer, but it also makes the rice at the bottom and edges of the pot extra crispy, which is the best part!
We came during a time when they weren't very busy so the staff was very attentive, and had time to chat with us. They are friendly people. We actually came in 10 minutes before they opened, because the door was unlocked and we didn't realize they were still closed, but they were really nice about it and offered for us to have a seat while we wait for them to officially open. It was snowing outside too, so we really appreciated that.
When our meal came, they gave us different condiments to try and explained a little about each of them.
I got my rice topped with eel and Chinese sausage, and my friend got their rice topped with salmon and shrimp.
There was so much umami flavor in that bowl. The eel was nice and fatty, and the sausage was slightly sweet.
It was $14 for a bowl with 2 toppings, and each bowl also comes with vegetables and a tea egg. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and the portion was enough for me
They're very open to feedback. I feel like they care about their customers' experience and are open to learning about ways they can improve. Personally, I had a great time.
