Clayton's Bakery & Bistro

This is an adorable little bakery. The decor and ambience is outstanding inside the store as well as the outdoor patio dining area. There is a large variety of breads and pastries available, many of which are made in house. They also serve beverages. I ordered the butter croissant and it was flaky and light. There is also an attached Bistro, but I only visited the bakery shop and can only comment to the bakery side. UPDATE: I have visited several more times during my stay to both the Bistro and Bakery and I'm still just as impressed as on my first visit. The attention to detail and presentation is outstanding. I purchased the pumpkin spice chai tea iced and a beautifully decorated floral chocolate cupcake from the bakery side. Both were excellent. The cupcake was moist, and the frosting perfectly complimented the cake. It was the perfect amount of sweetness without being overly sweet. At the Bistro, I ordered the beignets with fresh strawberries and lemon curd and my husband tried the butter croissant with jam. They were excellent.

French food is one of my favorites. This location has some of the best coffee and dishes to choose from. Our service was perfect. We arrived at opening and were warmly welcome to a table of our choosing. Starting the day in an atmosphere so calming and pleasant was want anyone should do. Definitely recommend stopping by for a meal here!

Everyone is so sweet and accommodating. The sweet treats are the best and they have the most delicious matcha lattes I’ve ever had!

Pretty cafe. The cafe doesn't have any indoor seatings. The Bistro does! The pastries does not have price label so I had no idea how much they are.

Food was what you'd expect at a bistro on Coronado in terms of price and quality. The chipotle sauce that comes with the chorizo burrito was amazing and the croissant was nice and flaky. Service took a while but they did seat us promptly at the 2 seater set up next to the bathrooms.

What a find! I visited Clayton’s Bakery looking for some cakes + treats and wasn’t disappointed. They offer a large range, reasonably priced and everything I got tasted great. The staff were friendly and made recommendations. I will be back! Also, don’t be shy to go next door either - the Bistro is just as nice, with a great intimate atmosphere and the soup was really tasty.

The best bakery I have tried in California, bistro had a lot of yummy options too. 10/10💥

Stopped by on Saturday afternoon great coffee lavender honey viet MK cold brew we also got Lemon curd puff Cheesecake and they were delicious.
