Second Location of Cledis Burgers Coming to Bellevue | Eater Nashville

"Named after chef-owner Shane Nasby’s grandfather, this funky Elm Hill Pike burger shack and beer garden has quickly made a name for itself by turning out crispy smash patties from a food truck parked in the beer garden and by offering inventive burger toppings; I’ve also noticed their Old Bay-seasoned wings. The new Bellevue location will carry hits from the Elm Hill spot—like the Billy Berry Smash topped with grilled onions, goat cheese, and a strawberry jalapeno jam—along with sandwiches, wings, and loaded fries, and it adds more seating, an expanded liquor and wine selection, and kitschy ’80s and ’90s toys, action figures, and pop-culture collectibles; it will be open for lunch and dinner at 7648 Hwy 70 S." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Google
Food was pretty good, 8.3 out of 10. Fries were on point along with the ranch. Burger was really good as well. The food overall was exceptional. The service was more self serve, you order at the front and they bring food to the table that is the extent of it. This is the reason for the 4. The atmosphere was off the hook and extremely nostalgic. This is definitely a place we will be back to.

Oh my gosh Cledis is such a vibe! You go into the restaurant and you are immediately greeted with decorations of movies, tv shows, and other pop culture references. I don’t describe restaurants as fever dreams very often, but here I am again describing this place as a fever dream, in the best way possible. We went around the holidays so they had Christmas lights up too. Not sure if that’s just for Christmas because I could definitely see this being a place where they have them up year round. My boyfriend and I had such a hard time choosing what we wanted from the menu since there were so many choices that sounded good. We ended up going with the Morning Deets Burger, the Cousin Eddie Burger, Truffle Shuffle Fries, and Bacon Ranch Fries. I absolutely love a brunch burger and theirs was so good! I’m unfortunately not a fan of ketchup so I thought it was a little too ketchup heavy for me, but if you are a ketchup fan you will love it. The Cousin Eddie was pretty tasty, although a tad on the sweet side. I love me some truffle fries and these were so good! The Bacon Ranch were a solid, classic choice. We had a great time and I can’t wait to go back to try some more of the burgers from the menu! Also always a plus in Nashville is that parking is really easy with a large, free, shared lot right out front.

My wife and I had a great lunch here the other day! The atmosphere feels like a cool basement vibe decorated in 80s/90s nostalgia. We ordered at the bar and ordered based off of the amazing bartenders recommendations. I ordered the Ghost Rider, great flavors, large patties, and the perfect level of spice. My wife ordered their burger of the week which was a chorizo egg burger that was HUGE. We split fries, onion rings, and their special fried chicken taco for taco week. The taco was unexpectedly delicious, and the onion rings with the boom-boom sauce were perfect. Will be coming back for more flavors!

Google
I heard about this place on Tik Tok. The Billy Burger Smash was very good. The jam mixed with the cheeses and grilled onions was a perfect combination. The Cledis Burger no American cheese and pepper jack and hard eggs was also very good. We had a side of onion rings with Raspberry Chipotle and Bandito sauce. Very good food and atmosphere. 5 out of 5 stars.

Wow wow wow 🤯 I mean where do I start?! I had the place listed while on vacation in Nashville and after a few bad meals in town i almost cancelled my visit to cledus burger. Instead I pushed through and went anyway. We arrived shortly after opening and the staff was very friendly. I didn’t know what wanted and the cashier was very patient and understanding. She never made me feel rushed and was very helpful. Even though they just opened everything on the menu was available with no restrictions. We went on Tuesday so we ordered the Tuesday tenderloin sandwich, the cledis burger, and the ghost rider. I expected to get a tiny tenderloin sandwich because the product is never as big as advertised. But that wasn’t the case here. The sandwich was huge and you could have used two buns for this bad boy. It was hot, crispy, juicy, and very well Seasoned. Everything I could have asked for. The cledis burger was for the kids but they loved it and it was also hot and fresh. Then comes the ghost rider. Man that thing was delicious. Again hot, and fresh, well seasoned and all the flavors worked together. I mean the sauce was absolutely delicious with the grilled onions. After the first bite I had to close my eyes and cherish the moment. These folks know how to make a burger and deliver hospitality that’s unmatched. Everyone was friendly, food was above expectations, and space was old school cool. Absolutely recommend anyone in the area to stop by. Even go out of your way to try this food

Google
The burger was exceptional and the fries were delicious. The service was okay, but the cashier was not very knowledgeable on flavor profiles of sauces on the burgers. The atmosphere was very dive bar themed but the tables and chairs were not cleaned off on several tables which ruined the atmosphere

Google
Came to this best kept secret burger spot in West Nashville today! Wow!! Completely surprised at this jewel right near me! Brandon was awesome at the bar, great custom burger menu- Smash burgers at its best. Kitchen hot a home run, can't wait to come back, and hit the happy hour! Love to support local small businesses.

Google
These smashburgers are amazing! The have some interesting flavor profiles. We had a hard time deciding they all sounded good. I decided on the Italian stallion. It has marinara, fried cheese sticks and pepperoni on a smashburger. Yummy I would definitely recommend this burger. My husband, got the big smack burger. It was a double patty. And it was huge! Lettuce, cheese , pickles and a special sauce on the burger. He said it was delicious. We also got the loaded trash can fries as a shareable side. It was huge. Tomatoes, onion, cut up smashburger , queso and a sauce over fries. So good it was hard to stop eating. You order at the counter when you walk in. Lots of 80's memorabilia on the walls! It was fun looking at everything on the walls. They do have a bar with some drink specials. It is kind of dark in there. We really enjoyed the food. I would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Yelp
We stopped for Taco Week. We sat at the bar and were instantly greeted by Lexi, whose genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home. Their tacos were superb. Cledis also offered the best value of the week: $12 for three tacos, while most other participants were priced at $6 for a single taco. They had the unbeatable deal make Cledis a must-visit. Check out their Christmas decorations. It's a testament to their approach that they've expanded to three locations in just three years. Highly recommend supporting this locally owned business! Yelp
I'm so glad Cledis opened in Bellevue! I loved the Elm Hill location, and now I have access to these burgers close to home. The minute you step inside, you're transported to the 80s when Spielberg movies ruled and guitar solos felt larger than life. The room is low lit, full of nostalgia, and packed with little nods to the era. Like a love letter from my childhood. The staff is friendly and seems genuinely happy to be there, which adds to the whole experience. The smashburgers are creative and unique. My favorite is the Blackberry Smoke, which won Nashville's Burger Week. It has white American cheese, bacon, grilled jalapeños, smoked blackberry preserves, and whipped mascarpone. It's not listed on the menu yet but they'll still make it. Every bite has a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and creamy. My husband goes for the Italian Stallion and the Shroom Boom, both solid choices. They also have a bar with a nice lineup of beers on tap. Don't miss the jukebox and the payphone, which feels like a rare museum piece these days. It all comes together for a fun, easy night out with the family. Have fun!

Yelp
I want to give a huge shout-out to Shane Nasby, the owner of Cletus in Bellevue. Not only does this place serve some of the best burgers around, Shane himself is the real reason this spot is special. He recently posted that because of changes with government and SNAP benefits being reduced, he will feed anyone who is hungry and make sure their children eat. That level of compassion is rare. Shane didn't make a big production of it. He simply saw a need in the community and stepped up to help.

Yelp
I rate this my #1 in Nashville. The char was perfect the burger was delicious. Myvdaughter also enjoyed her grilled cheese and fries

Yelp
We were excited to visit the new Cledis location in Bellevue, and it did not disappoint! Inside it is decorated with all of the 80's paraphernalia that is reminiscent of my youth, and the lights and 80's music playing over the speakers added to the fun atmosphere. Upon entering you place your order at the counter and then find a table. Everyone working there was very friendly and ready to answer questions or supply whatever items you may need. The menu includes many different types of burgers, sauces, and shareables. We opted for a Hillbilly Jo, Cousin Eddie, and Italian Stallion with fries and onion rings to share. Burgers were cooked to perfection and we enjoyed the fries and rings with some extra Cledis sauce. It was a great way to spend the lunch hour and we look forward to visiting again soon!

Yelp
Burgers and fries are really good! I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The burgers are a good size and they give you a good king of fries. The food came out quickly and everyone was polite. The restaurant itself has some cool decorations and the bathrooms seems very clean.

Yelp
This place is absolutely incredible. I hope the owners get to read this because I couldn't be more excited and happy to find this place. I went for the first time today and I love the fact that you get to order yourself and Self served drinks and you bust your own table because it just helps the efficiency of everything and allows. The staff to be focused more on great service in other ways that you want at a restaurant the vibe is incredible. The decor is so epic if you are a product of the 80s great use of TVs great lighting and the food was great 12 out of 10 on the decor thank you thank you thank you for bringing this to Bellevue.

Yelp
We had the blackberry smoke burger which won top 3 burger in the world. We also got the Eddie, The Bandito. The burgers were not as great as people made it sound. They are very small for paying 11 bucks amd more. It also doesnt come with fries. The fries are bigger than the actual burger. They need to lower the burger prices or make them bigger. They bring your food to you but the rest is self service. There was 10 of us and no one thought the burgers were that amazing. I had a swensons burger in Ohio last weekend and it was wayy better than their burgers and 5 bucks!

Yelp
I've had Cledis in Nashville and their new spot in Bellevue was just as good! Same fun vibe and we quickly ordered when we got there! They have a long bar (lots of beers on tap) and plenty of tables! Servers were great and food came out fast! We had Raspberry Chipotle wings and wings were a good size and delicious! I will say it reminded us of Thanksgiving Dinner! Also had the Smack Attack which is their version of a Big Mac and it was better than one too! Large patties and fresh ingredients, really liked the bun! Don't skip on the Truffle Fries, so good and garlicky! The little had the kids cheeseburger and it was a good size for a kiddo! They also have a claw machine and some photo opp spots! Great food, good service and fun place!

Yelp
Am very glad we have another locally owned option in Bellevue and encourage everyone to check it out. Something I had been suspecting but now know for sure is that a smashburger or a crustburger is not my favorite kind of burger - but I tried not to count off for that because that is exactly what they offer, plainly stated on the menu. They offer lots of interesting combinations that include some unusual sounding jams (like jalepeno strawberry), different kinds of cheeses, and lots of burgers that include bacon if that's your thing, and a Thai burger that involves a peanut sauce, and some chicken sandwiches that also sound interesting and I will try next time I go. I had heard that they offered veggie burgers and I asked if they were homemade or what kind they used and they use beyond burgers. I do have to give a shout out to the cheese fries they were fries that had a queso-like cheese sauce poured on top of them and were served piping hot and were perfect, almost like some fries swimming in a cheesy soup. They also offer a couple of salad options incuding a "chicken blt" one - and I might try that soon as well :)

Yelp
Great new spot with funky retro vibes and amazing smash burgers. Our food came out quickly after ordering, but the person working the register seemed a little impatient we took a second to look over the menu (they had no menu except one taped to the counter and there was no one behind us). I tried their bleus brother and ghost rider burgers, and both were juicy and crispy. The bleus burger had a little too much barbecue and not enough blue cheese for a blue cheese named burger but was still delicious. The winner between the two was the ghost rider. The amazing double patties, perfectly grilled peppers, and crispy bacon really made an amazing combination of flavors. We also ordered the parmesan truffle fries and onion rings. The onion rings were nothing to write home about, but the fries were amazing! They were perfectly seasoned with a lot of truffle and parmesan flavor in every bite.

Yelp
This was our first visit to this place and it did not disappoint!! A friend of my wife lives in Bellevue and recommended it, so we dropped in for lunch. They offer Signature Smash Burgers, Sandwiches, Sides, Wings, Shareables, Salads and Homemade Sauces. They also have 20 plus Local Beers and Ciders. The service was good, the food came out quickly and the ambiance is laid back and nostalgic. The walls are packed with images and characters from the 80's and 90's. We both got a Signature Smash Burger and a Shareable. We both really liked our burgers and the Garbage Pail Fries. They also partner with an organization called People Loving Nashville to combat hunger and homelessness, which I think is really cool. You can go to their website to Volunteer for upcoming missions. Bellevue is located 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Nashville so if you want to get away from the city and grab a tasty Smash burger, then I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
This is an amazing place with a beautiful story. The owner, staff, food and vibe are just wonderful. My husband and I had drinks, smash burgers, fries and lemon pepper dry rub wings. Everything was excellent. I am excited to return soon and bring my family and friends to experience this joyful space.
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
Had a really awesome lunch with the boys here yesterday. Have the lemon pepper wings, which were delicious. Truffle fries, and the blues burger. yum! Wayne, the bartender, was awesome. We had some great conversations about music and all the nostalgic stuff they have lining the walls. Such a cool place for just looking around at cool knickknacks and posters. Super easy to get to and right off the interstate. We came from the southside and it was only about a 20 minute drive from Crieve Hall.

Tom S.

Yelp
Ambiance is great. Your 80s lunchboxes behind the bar and great draft beer selection!
google avatar

Sydnie M.

Yelp
We LOVE Cledis! The staff is amazing, welcoming and have great memories for regular guest! As a family that does not eat meat is amazing to be able to take my kids out and get that full menu and restaurant service. Plus their adult drinks are the best in town.

James C.

Yelp
Cledis would be ashamed! Our meal was served within a few minutes which is a clear indicator and a warning for what is to come, that the sandwiches were not prepared to order. The fries and onion rings bore the unmistakeable stamp of frozen sides cooked in rancid oil. Even my wife's water was cloudy! We were both sick from the experience and will never ever return...
google avatar

Erin N.

Yelp
I've seen everyone rave about the burgers but really they're just mid at best and if you like a filling patty of beef..... go someplace else. Fries are nothing to write home about either. Try the hoagies though, they're really good and have way more meat to them.

Ricardo A.

Yelp
Mom and pop burgers and wings. The smash burgers were actually smashed ?!!!! Fire. Beer selection was appreciated.

Amy W.

Yelp
We've been there a couple times and we absolutely loved the food! Great selection of burgers and cheeses to choose from... and the bar is outstanding
google avatar

jackie k.

Yelp
Came to this location for the tenderloin Tuesday's. Being from the Midwest we missed these. Cledis's was very good. Happy to know where to get one here in Nashville.
google avatar

Marie S.

Yelp
I love all the 80s memorabilia, music, and murals. Such a fun atmosphere. The smash burgers are great! Big selection of options. The onion rings and mozzarella sticks seemed like the frozen type, and not made on the spot. Still, if you want a good burger with a lot of nostalgia, this is a must stop.
google avatar

Kenneth M.

Yelp
Great food with incredible people (especially Lexi) providing great service in an absolutely amazing atmosphere that will take you back to your childhood (if you are a Gen X)!!!
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Was great, burgers and ambience wonderful duck machine expensive but probably makes a lot of money
google avatar

Robyn S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch since I had not eaten anything today and was going grocery shopping. Had the Morning Deets burger and truffle fries. Service was quicker than expected and the food was hot and delightful. Burger was messy but tasted fantastic. Fries were hot, crispy and had tons of parm and just the right amount of truffle. Not overwhelming. Interior was a little dim for my taste, but lively with lots of families. 100% will be back.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Neighborhood bar atmosphere, order food on entering, head to the bar for a beer and grab a table. Had the Jodee Messina smash burger , can't remember all ingredients, but it was great! Friendly employees
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Locally owned smash burger spot with awesome 80s decor and vibes. Skip the line in front and sit at the bar for full service! The Oklahoma Smash is out of this world!
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
Pretty good burger and onion rings. Bar food. I would repeat for lunch. Although I didn't explore, may have a decent selection of beers on tap.
google avatar

Damom S.

Yelp
The first bite of the burger was great. Then I found two long white/blonde hairs. Did not see that as a condiment option.
google avatar

Stephanie P.

Yelp
The food here is truly excellent -- from the wide selection of burgers to the fresh and flavorful sides, everything we ordered was spot-on. The cashier and wait staff were friendly, attentive, and made the dining experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service at the bar left a lot to be desired. I stood at the bar for several minutes trying to get the attention of either bartender. Despite moving to a different spot at the bar, I was still ignored. One bartender seemed more interested in socializing with a customer than working, and the other was occupied at the far end of the bar. Eventually, another employee approached and asked if I had a pickup order. When I explained I was trying to order a drink, he told me I had to wait on the bartender who was already ignoring me. At that point, I decided to return to my table and finish my meal without the drink. This experience was disappointing enough that I'm unlikely to return to this location, which is a shame considering how great the food and table staff were.
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
My second time at this location. We sat at bar as we were having a beer. We ordered and our burgers were out very quick. She had the Oklahoma (her first time) and loved it, I had the cousin eddy and it was amazing. Wayne was our server at the bar and he was even more amazing, answered all our questions and even gave us some complimentary sauce to take with us. We will definitely be returning. 10 out of 10 spot on!
google avatar

Mike U.

Yelp
I was really surprised at how good this place was. My wife had been wanting to go but balked at it. As it turns out this is my new favorite burger joint!
google avatar

Dr. Beverley A. J.

Yelp
The food was subpar and the prices outrageous! The burgers were greasy, fried and onion rings were burned, overcooked.

Scott G.

Yelp
Line to order went very fast. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. We got food quickly. Burger tasted great. Onion rings were good the first time we came, but this time the onion rings were a bit stale. Tasted like sitting to long under heat lamp. Onion rings were not cooked to order or anywhere close. chicken salad was great. Fresh lettuce and flavor-full chicken. Alabama sauce was great (used sauce to dip onion rings in)

Aaron H.

Yelp
Ohhhhh I love me a Cledis Burger and some onion rings! The Billy Berry Smash with grilled onions, bacon, goat cheese and strawberry jalapeno jam....seriously! And Jacob at the counter is the BEST!

Corbusier

Yelp
Cledis in Bellevue was our 1st visit during Burger Week! Their special burger was amazing! We tried 3 other participating burger places....on the 4th we just agreed to go back to Cledis! Thrilled they actually WON Best Burger!! Fun !!

Tammi S.

Yelp
So thankful Cledis is now in Bellevue! We have loved the Elm Hill location. The Bellevue one has the same delicious burgers, a full bar with themed cocktails, and the decor is so fun and nostalgic. A must try for sure.
