I give major props to the management that allowed me to use a gift certificate that expired the end of 2022 today! It took two emails but they agreed to it which was nice. I booked an 80 massage online and had Jenna as my masseuse. It was a relaxation massage but definitely turned into a deep tissue which at the time wasn’t great but in reality, was needed. Jenna was amazing as she worked her hands and elbows all over my back and worked my calves as well as requested. The cost was $180 but with the GC just paid a little out of pocket along with a tip based on the value of the massage. My only gripe was I was never offered a beverage when I came in which was about 10 minutes before my massage. I was craving some tea but had to ask for it at the end of my massage. Also, there is a waiting/relaxation area downstairs which would’ve been nice to hang before my massage. Plenty of ParkChicago available all around the salon. If you go here, book Jenna!

I have getting my Brazilians here for over 5 or more years. Mercedes is unmatched in skills and professionalism.

I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone from the receptionists, to my aesthetician were top tier amazing! The spa is so clean and calming. I was waxed by Mercedes and she was great! She works very fast, but was also very meticulous and gentle. Booking her I assure you won't be disappointed.

Went in for the Luminous-C facial with Aliyah and it was amazing!!! It was comfortable, relaxing and informative. She was super knowledgeable and had a great recommendation for a product I could incorporate into my routine. Can’t wait to go back and see her again. Highly recommend this spa. I had a wonderful experience today! I got a lot of attention to detail and left completely hairless because she went above and beyond with plucking after waxing. She was also able to remove my ingrown hairs to ensure a smooth finish. Highly recommend!

Had a facial with Jessica on Thursday and WOW! My skin has done a complete 180 in just the last two days. I’ve been suffering with very bad cystic acne for the last two years & it’s something I’m incredibly self conscious about and struggle daily to cover. Yesterday was the first time in the last two years that I didn’t spend worrying about how my skin looked, I have no more active breakouts & my skin was so smooth I honestly couldn’t believe it. Not only that but the areas of my face that typically get oily by the end of the day didn’t look a bit shiny at all. As for the facial itself, Jessica was incredibly informative & talked me through every step before she did it. She constantly checked in to make sure I was comfortable & was clearly very knowledgeable. After the facial she recommended products & helped me come up with a long term plan for my skincare. Long story short, it was worth every penny (and to be honest their facials are very reasonably priced). If I lived in the area I would be in monthly, thank you so, so much Jessica!

This place was absolutely AMAZING!!! The staff were extremely friendly and personable. The aura of the shop was inviting and not to mention the facility was clean. My esthetician, Darinka was THE BEST. Hands down best Brazilian I've ever had. She was friendly and my lady parts were beautiful. Highly recommended.

I really loved how Olivia was so great with doing my eyebrows, legs and a Brazilian wax. She was so great and gentle and I really loved the experience as it was my first time doing the Brazilian. I really recommend this place because they really know how to treat their client. Also the space is so cute and cozy.

Treat you nice right when you walk in. Friendly staff, great smooth service. Clean place through and through. Start your service greeted with some fresh cold fruit water while you take a second and have a seat in a nice calm setting. def coming back.

Today was my first time getting a brazilian wax, and Lisa was amazing! I have nothing to compare it to since it was my first time ever, but I was so nervous because I had heard so many stories about the pain but she was so professional and experienced I honestly did not even know she had started waxing my hair off. She explained the waxing to me and not to worry about the hot temperature, and started making small talk that I wasn't even aware of the pain at first. Quick and easy. Definitely will be back next month!

Is it a thing to cheat on your esthetician? I can't help it, I'm in love with Mercedes. I randomly booked a last minute waxing appointment with Cleise Brazilian Day Spa as I was trying to get a Brazilian before this month's menstrual cycle. Luckily, when I called Cleise, they had an opening and I was able to get an appointment for the next day. I had booked a full leg wax, side burns and full Brazilian. The day of my appointment, my period decided to surprise me but luckily I was able to push the Brazilian appointment till next week with no issues. When I first arrived, I was greeted at the front desk and asked to fill out a few forms. After that, I was ready to start my appointment. Mercedes was such a delight, I was genuinely having a horrible morning until I spoke to her and my entire day had a boost of happiness. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about what she does, she is THAT good at it. If you are scared of getting waxed, Miss Magic Hands can take really good care of you. I did not feel one single ounce of pain. I was literally chilling. That's not all folks. I have pretty bad hormonal acne and every time I wax my side burns, my face becomes a literal zit. We are on day 3 of wax and no redness, no irritation, no nothing. She took one glance at my face and knew exactly what needed to be done. I can't wait to have my facial with her next week. ~ Till next time!

After moving back to the city from the west coast, I'm happy to report these are still the best facials after almost a decade. The Bossa Nova is nice but I splurge for the Vitamin C in winter for the added nutrients and antioxidants to fight free radicals. I found the results are superior to even other high end spas I've been to in Chicago in 2021 and the cleanliness and customer service is on par as well. Their hours are a bit limited but they say they may expand opening times in the spring 2022.

Lisa at Cleise Salon is an absolute PRO in everything she does!! I have been going here for years and am super happy with the quality service at Cleise.

Incredible customer service from everyone who works there (front desk staff, technicians, etc). I HIGHLY recommend Lis. I saw her for a Brazilian and eyebrow wax. She was thorough, checked in on my throughout the process to make sure I liked the way things looked/was comfortable, she was kind and funny. She made me feel safe and I will most definitely book with her again. Come here and you will not regret it!

Got a deep tissue massage with Jenna and she was amazing. Felt great after I left. Staff was very kind and efficient and the spa pays attention to the details to make sure you have a good experience. I was worried about parking, but seemed to be plenty around for under $10.

Received a HORRIBLE facial here. It made my skin look so much worse, and my fine lines are more obvious after the facial. My skin looks red and overall the quality of my skin looks dry and rough. I am so upset that I spent 300+ dollars to make my skin look so much worse. The woman who provided my facial kept ignoring my main concern of fine lines around my eyes, and kept talking about fixing my dark circles which I never mentioned as issue. My skin looks awful and I'm so unhappy I wasted so much money.

GO, GO, GO......to Cleise Brazilian Day Spa. Don't walk....run!!! I can't believe I didn't go sooner. I was blessed to fall upon this quaint spa a year ago, when I was in town visiting family. My fiancé wanted to do something fabulous for me, so he booked me a surprise massage. (It was fabulous too, btw). As you can see, I WAS A NOTORIOUS PLUCKER......until I met Cleise and she told me that I would have full brows, if I just listened to her. I had nothing to lose, literally. I hadn't had beautiful brows, since I was 16 years old and I'm going on 44. And I didn't want to micro blade or tattoo my face either.....but I was longing for my 16 year old eyebrows back. I started using the suggested products and exactly how Cleise told me to and within 3 months I had full, thick, brows. I really wanted to share this journey with you because it's been a year and today, I went in for my very first eyebrow tint. I never thought I'd have beautiful, thick, natural brows again......but I do and I owe it all to Cleise. DEFINITELY THE BEST!!! I'm really hoping that this review will help others in the same situation I was in and I couldn't be happier with my results, so I had to share. All the best and stay safe during quarantine. As well......a side note, the facilities are extremely clean and sterile. Everyone in the spa were wearing professional masks. It made me feel safe especially during this time. Cleise Brazilian Day Spa is my go to for all things beauty. My aesthetician Lisa is THE BEST. From all my waxing needs and facial cleanings Lisa is delicate and efficient. Not only is her skill set one of the best, her caring and nurturing approach is one of the reasons I cant wait to work with her every few weeks.

I saw Darinka for my eyebrows religiously for 4 years. I went to make an appointment 2 weeks ago and she's no longer working there. I don't trust anyone else to take care of my brows the way she did. If you know how to reach her or the new spa she's working for please let me know. Al 5 stars go to Darinka :) truly the best in Chicago

I had my first ever facial done by Mercedes. It was so calming, peaceful, and relaxing!! If you need a nice rejuvenating facial, Mercedes is your girl! She is super sweet, instructed me politely through the process and I was able to leave feeling better educated about facial and my face felt fresh. Happy I chose this spa, very clean and respectful environment.

I had a great experience with Lisa M. She is fantastic and meticulous. My Brazilian wax was painless, and Lisa was a pleasure to meet. I will be back, and I highly recommend Cleise Day Spa to anyone looking for waxing in Chicago. Parking was also a breeze on Wells, which is always a plus. I'm so glad I discovered this place today. I have been to Cleise twice for facials, both by Erica. Erica is a goddamn wizard and has gently but firmly steered me towards products that are more appropriate for my age (38) and skin type. There is definitely a marked improvement in the clarity and tone of my skin since following her recommendations. You can't go wrong with Erica - she is friendly, but frank and professional. P.s. Don't pass up the coconut pineapple water - it's delicious and refreshing!

I got a Brazilian which I've been doing forever but it was my first time at this location. The woman did a great job but was very chatty and opinionated. Tried to push product when I was done with my appointment and was just generally unpleasant to speak with. She did a great wax though, painfree and effective.

I recently had a Bosa Nova facial with Darinka, and it was absolutely amazing. She has gentle hands, but yet gets down to nitty-gritty details of your pours and really cleans them out without inflammation. She is also very knowledgeable about all skin types and truly gets to know your skin and can recommend down to earth home care procedures. In addition, it was super relaxing and the Spa ambiance is just so tranquil and clean, I just love Cleise Spa and can't wait for another treatment.

Really wanted to like this place, however, after one day it looks like I've got my wax down there done a week ago. I am very consistent with my waxes (3x a week) if areas were too short to have waxed I should have at least been told. However, some parts were just just poorly done. On top of the price. Lady was nice but I will never be back

I have been going to this spa for probably about 10 years now. I went to a different spa for my bikini waxes and was burned (down there) and was told that my hair was "course" which is just code for "you're African American and I don't know how to service you". I felt really dejected. I thought to myself, I'm going to get my Brazilian wax from an actual Brazilian. That's how I found Cleise. She performed my wax those years ago and did an amazing job. I felt like my business was appreciated and that my race was not a factor. I received a warm welcome that day and every day since. I have been seeing Lisa for at least the last 5 years and she does my brazilian waxes, my brow waxes and my facials. I don't trust my skin to anyone else, and you shouldn't either. I just really feel taken care of here, and even though the prices may be a little steeper here than other places, this is about quality skincare, and I'm willing to pay for that. If you're looking for a great place to get waxes and facials in a wonderful spa environment where you are treated like a valued customer, give Cleise a try and ask for Lisa.

Very clean and hygienic spa. All CDC guidelines followed. Went for a brazilian and eyebrows and my waxer was Darinka. Very friendly and accommodating. She didn't make conversation awkward. I went at 18 weeks pregnant and was nervous but it went well. She seemed like a very experienced waxer. They don't double dip sticks here either which is important.

I started out as a huge skeptic when it came to working facials into my skincare regime. But after battling with constant acne and acne-related scars for many, many years I finally decided to invest in having better skin. From the first clinical facial I received from Erica I noticed significant change in my skin. She convinced me switch over to the Jan Marini and Rx systems products for acne-prone skin and cut out all the 'fads' and 'highly reviewed' products I would get my self after reading reviews online on Sephora and such. She helped me understand my skin better and over the last 9 months the change in my skin is unbelievable. I went from having at least 4-5 breakouts on a daily basis to seeing 1 breakout every other month, if that. My skin is now stable and consistently clear. There is smoothness and fewer blemishes/clogged pores. My skincare regime is simple and limited to 3-4 products max. I would HIGHLY recommend Cleise Day Spa and HIGHLY recommend working with Erica. The investment in my skin over the past year has been one of the best decisions and I don't know why I didn't do this sooner!

I have been going to the Cleise Brazilian day spa for many many years to get a Brazilian wax, eye brow wax and facials. I have been going to Lisa and she is the best!! She is the sweetest and nicest and so fun to be around. She gives am amazing facial and always makes sure to get every last hair! I would highly recommend Lisa!

After a very bumpy start resulting in a horrible experience with Dana during a Brazilian Wax redo that left me in tears, the excellent customer service and sincere apology I received from the Spa Manager led me back. Cleise herself waxed my eyebrows. She did an excellent job given how thin my brows are. She also took the time to apologize to me for the horrible experience mentioned above. I will see her again in a few weeks for my complimentary Brazilian Wax. The front desk staff are awesome, professional and so welcoming. I look forward to my next visit.

I read all the reviews about Lisa and they were true. She is meticulous and a master waxer. She is calm so you stay calm and she is super fast - like done in 15 minutes fast. The wax was minimal pain and probably the least painful wax I've had ever. Lisa used hard wax - which is great for women with course hair (talking to you if you have curly/kinky, thick and lots of hair on your head). This type of wax causes far less ingrown hair. This is one reason why the wax is pricier than your average salon. I'm an infrequent waxer: meaning over the past 9 years I've only had a total of like 4-5. I used to go to Cleise's previous location in LP and saw Rhonda, who was so good, but she no longer works at the spa. That being said, I scheduled my appointment with Lisa and they need your credit card to lock down your reservation. When I arrived, I was greeted and had to fill out a little paperwork. Lisa grabbed me from the lobby and took me to the room. You change and she jumps right into the service. She took off smaller sections than I recall with previous technicians, but I think this ensures a cleaner and smoother result. And using the hard wax is far less painful (like a fraction of the discomfort!) than using soft wax and muslin strips. Lisa is good about shaping too and tweezes whatever is missed by the wax. She is super fast with a tweezer, like you can barely feel anything. Overall, I was anticipating a painful experience and it was surprisingly super fast and bearable. Yes, you will experience discomfort, especially if your pain tolerance is low and that's based on each person. No review on Yelp will be able to help you determine that - unfortunately. You just have to go and experience it yourself. I promise you - it will be fine. However, if you are brave enough, I totally recommend you visit Cleise and see Lisa. It's a little pricey, but it's like the Neiman Marcus of wax salons. If you sign up for their maintenance program, the price drops significantly and is comparable to other more affordable salons, but I think it's like every 4-6 weeks and you pre-schedule your next visit when you pay at check-out. Lastly, about products and maintenance. I think I was so worried about the pain, I forgot about the results and how pleased you will be - she really did great!! Skin is smooth and a just little tender. There is a product they sell, which I think is about $20 and you roll on this serum which helps to reduce the prevalence of ingrown hair. They won't necessarily recommend it to you, so you may need to request it. You put it on a few times per day, especially the first 3-4 days. Once the the skin is no longer tender, I add a light moisturizer daily, to keep the skin hydrated, and....That's it! Best of luck.

I was in dire need of an eyebrow wax today and turned to Yelp for some help. After reading all of the raving reviews about Rhonda at Cleise Brazilian Day Spa I called and booked an appointment. I was shocked and very happy that I got an appointment the same day I called because from the reviews I figured she'd be booked for weeks. This spa is absolutely adorable and I'm really surprised I haven't heard of it until now. Rhonda was great...she was the first esthetician I've been to that seems to really know her stuff. I think she's got herself a new client because after today's appointment I can't imagine going back to my other spas for eyebrow waxing. I have been going to Cleise spa on and off for about 5 years(I move for months at a time frequently) and I have now been seeing NINA for 1 year. I highly recommend her. She does my Brazilians and facials. She is gentle yet efficient. My skin was a wreck when I started seeing her and now my skin is glowing, beautiful and hydrated. I typically struggle with blackheads, redness/Rosacia, and dryness. I can not recommend her enough. She also recommends without being pushy which has really helped me find the right products. The spa is clean, the staff is friendly and you get a discount when you pre-book. Plus it keeps me from going too long between appointments. They also do text reminders and confirmations.

Have been here several times. I kept thinking, I must be missing something. I have tried different technicians, including the owner (the worst, by far). Pushy, trying to sell products primarily. Not sure how they have gotten ratings above a two star here and on Facebook. Has to be friends, family and workers rating them high. Please, do not waste time and money.

Same 5 star service, meticulous attention to detail and wonderful ambiance as the other location. This one has the added bonus of being a bit more public transit accessible. Back for more Brazilian! Jennifer, my esthetician, was great. Even though we chatted during the whole service, she was definitely focused on her work. Brazilian waxes are an art here - I say that 'cos they're my new addiction, but it's true!

This is my spot for all things beauty! Marya does an excellent wax job, so good that I almost don't want to give her a shout out for fear others will take her from me. She gets my eyebrows perfect every single time! I couldn't ask for more, she really is just the best overall! The location is great and the place itself just oozes serenity! The cucumber water is also a nice touch before and after a treatment!

First of all they were so patient while I tried to book massages for me and a friend at last minute (I already had a wax appointment). Massages didn't work out but I have finally found my wax spot after a year in chicago and not loving my usual spot that was great in other cities just not here. Very clean. Bright convenient location. Friendly staff. Wax was perfect (as perfect as a Brazilian wax could get lol). I may try a facial next.

Cleise has been my esthetician for the past 19yrs, we both came to the USA the same time. She knows the skin like no other spa owner. Believe me I know good waxing and bad as I have been waxing for the past 36yrs in 5 different cities and 2 countries. Cleise is honest, and meticulous. This is how she trains her staff. Had numerous bikini plus wax and finally decided to be brave and had my first brazilian wax ever today! It was painless and quick and I'm so happy with the result. I always go with Darinka, she makes you feel at ease and makes the entire process easy. Such a wonderful place! This is our favorite spa in Chicago. Hold on, let me tell you the truth: this is the BEST spa in the city. Everything you want they have there: facial, massage and body treatments. My wife goes there quite often and I go there for a facial as well recommended by her. I had to book a last minute (as in the morning of my sailing trip) Brazilian wax when my usual waxer at a different salon was out of town and the day of the trip snuck up on me. I have walked by this place a million times and have just never thought to go in. The staff is professional and attentive and the salon is beautiful. I can't believe I hadn't walked through the doors for the three years I have been walking my dog past the building. I had the fastest, least painful wax of my life (and I have been getting bikini waxes for about ten years). It was unbelievable. I will definitely be back for waxes and other treatments as well.

Had a Vitamin C facial with LED with Darinka; the most amazing facial I have experienced! I was dehydrated and face looked dull. When she finished the services, I felt new again. She is very professional and provides excellent education for my skin needs.

Another great experience here. This salon is clean with friendly staff. They have basically fixed botched eyebrows from nail salon jobs. I hate hate bikini waxes but they are so patient and helpful. They accept tips on cards (though I try to use cash). They also have a program where you get a discount if you schedule your next appointment ahead of time. I've never had a bad experience with anyone here, but I do highly recommend Dana!!

Most amazing Brazilian day spa in the country and Cleise is a miracle worker! I fly here all the way from LA for her brow, wax and facial services. Cleise is beautiful, kind and extremely knowledgeable in all the latest beauty and health trends! Best esthetician in Chicago hands down!

I have been going to Dana for years for all of my waxing and facials for years. She is the BEST. Last week I had an appointment with Dana to pamper myself for my birthday and had the most amazing facial. She takes her time and my skin looked amazing. Thank you Dana.

I never write Yelp reviews but had to because my experience was so good. I never get my eyebrows waxed - just threaded because I believe that it's harder to define shape via wax. I was so wrong. I visited Cleise recently and had Esmeralda as my technician. She was absolutely awesome. She shaped my (very unruly) eyebrows and really took time to make sure that each little hair was either plucked or waxed. I was so impressed with my experience and how great of a job she did. If you're looking for a good wax, do yourself a favor and visit this salon. The salon was very clean, and I felt safe in light of the COVID precautions. Very much recommend.

This spa is amazing! More specifically, Dana is amazing. I never write reviews but believe that this establishment deserves one. I have been going there for about 1.5 years to get a Brazilian wax and I have never had a bad experience there. Obviously, it is never comfortable but Dana does a GREAT job of going fast, telling you when you breath, and making it as painless as she can! People - It is going to hurt. It is never NOT going to hurt no matter what you do (I was super annoyed reading the 1 star review about someone not happy because she read it wouldn't hurt and it did). Anyways, the pain does decrease as you continue to go every 6 weeks so keep up with it. The only con to this place is that it is pretty expensive before and after the tip. Honestly, it is probably not the company's fault because they use high quality wax and getting a wax in general is not cheap (as it shouldn't be) but it does add up. After 1.5 years, I realized how much I was spending and felt like I needed to re-evaluate how much I wanted to go.

The Bioslim body wrap is my go-to before any big event, vacation, or photoshoot...half of my Pilates studio came here before our last team headshot! Marlise is hands down my favorite here. She truly cares about her clients and takes great pride in her work. She pays very close attention to detail to make you look your best, and her kind spirit makes you feel great too! She adds in special services like a massage or foot rub during the treatment, and always ends with a cup of hot tea of your choice. I recently got a scrub and wrap right before my wedding, and she left me with words of encouragement, a big hug, and absolutely glowing!

If I could rate this place negative stars, I would. Truly the worst experience I've ever had with a spa, or any business for that matter. Horrible and unprofessional customer service. Do not waste your money on this place.

I'm not going to lie. Getting a bikini wax hurts. However, getting a bikini wax at Cleise did not hurt as bad as it has at other salons. It wasn't painless, but it wasn't as painful either. The staff could not have been nicer! We were greeted with smiles and pleasant attitudes. They made me feel very comfortable, even though I was being a diva and requested...how do I put this...precautions to protect my...uh...modesty. Which my esthetician didn't like, but she made it work. I had gone to Cleise to try it once. Now I think I will go to Cleise for all of my waxing needs. Edit 10/8/07: I'm deducting two stars. My last couple of visits to Cleise have been bad. I've noticed that they don't remove all of the hair. On the last visit I had visible regrowth in a few days. I felt like I needed to go back for another wax. When I'm spending $70 for a wax, I expect it to last at least a week. Also they left wax all over my legs and *ahem* "other areas" the last couple of visits. I don't think I'll be going back to Cleise.

BY FAR the least painful, fastest, and neatest Brazilian wax I've ever experienced!! I'm not a newbie to waxing, per say, as I've been getting Brazilian waxes for a few years now. Yet and still, whenever it's "that time again" I always get so nervous thinking about the pain! Before coming to Cleise, I had a pretty good experience getting a Brazilian done when hard wax was used. To me this is the ONLY wax that should be used for getting rid of all your hair down there because as sensitive as our lady parts are, you don't want those annoying wax strips to tug on and irritate your skin...that's the beauty of hard waxes, no strips are involved and the wax ONLY sticks to the hair, not your skin, making the experience FARRR less painful. So, after experiencing a hard wax Brazilian during a visit to Atlanta, I just HAD to find a place that did it here in Chicago (since this is my current city of residence). When I typed "hard wax" in on Google, Cleise Brazilian Day Spa was the first and most accurate search item returned. I look over the first two pages of reviews, and was hooked! I just had my Brazilian wax the other day from Cleise, and let me tell you....it was PERFECT!! As usual, I entered the salon quite nervous, but the staff were very welcoming and offered me water immediately. The spa is very cute & smelled delightfully of tea tree oil. I received my wax from Jennifer, and not only was she super nice & comforting, but she did an amazing job!! I'm smoother than a baby's bottom!! Lol, she even took her tedious time to pluck any hairs that weren't picked up by the wax. I mean this wax experience was a breeze, and lasted all of 15 minutes (MAX). I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Definitely coming back here once a month!! :-)
