Adult adult. Post hipster- pre yuppie/ fiance bro. Lol If you know you know Food is good when they have pop-ups but don't expect food on regular. regular. Weekends- if you have a crowd, come earlier because seating is tight. Close quarters. Two bathrooms.

Visited this charming corner Irish bar during St. Patrick’s Day weekend while in NYC with my wife. Our local friends brought us here specifically, knowing it would deliver an authentic experience away from the tourist-packed celebrations elsewhere in the city. Despite being a Saturday afternoon of the festive weekend, the place had the perfect atmosphere - lively but not overwhelming. The intimate space had that classic neighborhood pub feel that’s increasingly rare to find in Manhattan. The Guinness was absolutely stellar - exactly what we were craving for the holiday weekend. Each pint was cold, poured with patience and precision (that crucial two-part pour), and tasted remarkably smooth. None of that bitter aftertaste you get when Guinness is rushed or poured incorrectly. What made the experience special was enjoying properly-poured pints in a genuine Irish pub with friends who knew the local scene.

Really weird DJ. Honestly, if they had stuck with the bartender and his iPod it would’ve been better. The transitions of the songs were at best fade outs, at worst random jarring starts. The setlist made no sense either. Just awkward.

Stopped into this bar on a whim and I had a great time! I sat alone at the bar and met some very cool people and the bartenders were super cool as well. They had a good DJ spinning vinyl and I felt safe and comfortable as a woman alone drinking here.

This is where I go when I want to be in a bar with grownups. Their beer and shot specials are somewhat legendary. This was an oasis during the first part of the pandemic. They changed the service over and over again to meet the changing government regulations and even took donations for local causes. If there’s a good pop-up, get there early because it’s always the best of the best.

Dependable neighborhood dive with a heated outside seating structure and additional heated tables under their awning on Roebling. Window service on Grand. Solid hot toddies and tamales.

Simple and straightforward bar. A good amount of outdoor seating, which is probably it's greatest strength. Other than that, the beer selection is okay, and the staff was pretty friendly. No complaints.

We went there on a Friday night after dinner. It’s a neat atmosphere. We drank the hard Kombucha ($5) really good. I would say Clem’s esthetic is Midwest with a Brooklyn twist. Antlers, deer heads, rock and roll music. The DJ (Jan 31 2019) was good and created a cool atmosphere. I believe she was spinning vinyl too which was impressive.

As far as dive bars go, Clem's checks off all the boxes. Not too crowded, cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, and the occasional song you can hum along to. I have witnessed this tiny bar full to the brim later on a Friday but on a casual Tuesday it's mostly regulars having a good time. I opted for a few too many glasses of wine here but they seemed to have some unique cocktails on the menu if you're into that.

There's absolutely nothing fancy about Clem's and that's just the way they like it. They are the quintessential dive bar, serving up drinks with little pretension in a space small enough to really hone in the hipster vibes Williamsburg is so famous for. While the interior is on the small'ish side, but the wooden bar area is a nice touch. I appreciate the fact they have outdoor seating, which comes in extra handy during the warmer months. Ventilation is not much to speak of here and despite how marked up the bathroom is, it's relatively clean. The lure of the beer + shot got me the first time and I've been in and out ever since. Their happy hour where well drinks are $4 each are also an allure for the average lush. I also appreciate their beers on tap and their simple cocktails. In a neighborhood where so many bars serve up pricey drinks, it's kind of nice to enjoy more affordable and equally lushy. Food wise, I know they've gone through a range of things from reheated pot pies to patties, but they almost always have hot pockets. I imagine the intoxication level has to be high in order to stomach any of it. Get drunker and buy a few items from their wall of merch (which frankly is kind of impressive given their dive bar status).

I'm shocked this joint even has a website, but when you go to the "About" section, the only info provided says: "Drink without distraction." That's about right. There always seems to be a happy hour special, a beer and a shot special, or some other way to ingest a large amount of alcohol for a small amount of cash. Even when there is no special, the drinks are strong enough that I start to FEEL special after a couple. There's no food, no games, no lights, no bullshit. If you need a game, take a shot, squint at all the old guys on the stools, and try to guess which one is Clem. This is a bar where you come to do what you're supposed to do in bars: drink. Without distraction.

Pretty cool chill bar in the Williamsburg area right on a corner of an intersection. Cheap beers ($5-8), reasonably priced unique cocktails (around $12), and friendly bartender all equals a good time.

One of the most staggeringly bad espresso martinis ive ever had. Genuinely stomach turning and 18 dollars

Stopped at Clem's for a post-dinner drink on a Friday night and was very impressed with the drinks and the overall atmosphere. Despite it being a warm Friday night, we were easily able to get a table (it's first-come-first serve; you order your drinks at the window and then grab a table, and your drinks are brought out to you.) We ordered the mezcal palomas which had a nice strong pour and were not too sweet -- perfectly acidic with the grapefruit. Clem's is not a bells-and-whistles Williamsburg Bar, but I found that they were much more COVID-friendly than many of the more frilly bars in the surrounding couple of blocks. Their "Cuomo Sandwich" was a hotdog, which was an easy way to not break the bank on an overpriced appetizer. Definitely would return to Clem's for another drink!

I stumbled into this place a few months ago with a friend on a weeknight. It was fairly empty and we enjoyed several drinks. The bar had a chill vibe, service was good, I will absolutely go back.

Really wanted to like this place as I'm new to the neighborhood and the drinks are pretty strong. Unfortunately, after waiting patiently to get the bartenders attention (lady with a mullet) I was cut off to be told there were other people to serve, to hold on. She then proceeds to start small talk with a few clients at the bar that already had drinks( and weren't ordering more) then leaves to go to the other end of the bar and start chatting with clients there, completely ignoring me. Another bartender comes up and helps people that cut in front of me(no biggie ) but when I go to place my order he actually acknowledges me and says give me one second, finishes pouring a beer and actually comes back to me. The thing that pissed me off is that as the second bartender is helping me, the original bartender who ignored me asks if I still want the drink I was trying to order. Like seriously?! Gtfo here! Thank you to that other bartender who was able to actually do their job and be courteous in the process. Idk if I'll be back, if I do come back I'll definitely make sure not to order from her.

Stopped in on a whim, cool look, dark lighting, small, intimate, galley like space, and they serve a fantastic near perfect, Guinness. Liquor selection is adequate but can not comment on food since I did not order any. Music on a Saturday was a little too unique and I have an extremely open mind. Loved the bartenders who was bit spicy and did not put up with any BS from intoxicated/high maintenance guests. Was also entertaining to watch certain patrons order a bag of chips, free glass of water and still tip 75%. Only in NY could someone still tip on such an order. Kudos! TV was off and inconspicuous, and that's a great thing. Bathroom walls looked like a CBGB knockoff tattered with ads and graffiti, with cleaner floors and toilets.

This is a timely little neighborhood bar I found after taking a city bike over the Williamsburg Bridge, while on vacation. I like vacationing there because I never have to step into a car, I just wish the water closets were a little bit bigger. Friends and family are great to visit and catch up with, but my favorite part is when their lives must continue, and I'm left to stroll and sing (and drink). So Clem's is a bar, and there's not much more to say about that, except that the bartenders and locals were downright friendly by Brooklyn standards, and the drink specials introduced a warm, familiar camaraderie between the gut and the brain.

Cool divey bar with a cool vibe. It's set up long way where when you walk in the bar is basically the right side of the place. There are some high tops along the left side and a few by the doorway. The bathrooms are in the back. There are two unisex ones. There was also a DJ there in the back which was cool. Bartenders were very cool and attentive.

Happy Sunday my fellow Adventurers! This is one of those corner dive bars that have decent drink specials but limited seating. I did appreciate the hooks for our coats and the small window ledge/bar to have a cocktail looking out into the street. This would be a 'meet an old friend for drinks before dinner on a snowy day' type place. Seemed a mix of older and late 20's crowd. You'll most likely see a lot of regulars that make their place at the bar. Since it's the start of my 30th birthday week I decided to have the Sat whiskey based drink, I forgot what whiskey tasted like without a mixer to soften it. Still gets you warm and I imagine with 2-4 of these you'd be feeling prettyyyyy nice ;) This was off the drink specials---variety of about ten drinks all for $10!!! Really not bad pricing for BK. My friend ordered the Large Marge because well tequila! Tasty and strong, the bartender was cool though I feel like he really played up the grungy hipster aesthetic given his appearance. Obviously nothing against his character or bar tending skills (which he's awesome at) just feel like bartenders should look not as sweatshirty. All in all decent place as a warm up. Note: they don't serve any food except for chips and hot pockets...how very Brooklyn.

Clem's is cool, Clem's is hip. It's a small little bar located in a corner of Williamsburg. You've got your regulars who know everything and everyone and the ones who pre-game before heading out for dinner or a movie. I personally enjoy their beer-and-a-shot specials, which include the Federale (tequila & Tecate) and the Patriot (whiskey & Narragansett). And they're only $6! If that's not a drink deal, then I don't know what is! The bartenders are easy to talk to, and they'll make your drinks strong without a second thought. The vibe here is real good, and I'll be coming here more often.

Where aging skateboarders go to die inside. Good place to sit for a decade or so, every year or two over and over again, until the pain slowly turns to a soulless numbing, and regret is the served frosty in $4 brown bottle + tip of your cold grey heart. Never been laid here either. Intercourse-free zone. 5 Stars. Aw, fuck it, 6 Stars.

Someone added their own tip to my credit card purchase after I already tipped in cash. I know it's only $2 but it's dishonest or incompetent-- either way just shitty. :(

We like popping in here for an afternoon "Federale" special, beer and tequila double whammy. It's a long bar and when you walk in there is a tiny booth on the left and a tall table on the right. I love all the natural lighting. It's on the corner and there's tons of windows. Anytime we come there's always some cool rock tunes on. Since, we come earlier, we never have any issues getting drinks and it's never too crowded. I enjoy the simple decor and bits of taxidermy.

This is definitely a dive bar, but that's a good thing in my mind because of the prices. They had $6 beer and shot specials and $10 frozen vodka lemonades (which was super refreshing on a hot day). Even better, you get $1 off cocktails if you have a movie ticket, so this is a great place to stop by before or after hitting the cinemas down the street. It's a pretty small place, but I came on a Saturday afternoon and there were only three other people there.

I honestly wanted to like this place. I came here a few weeks ago with my lady to have some drinks before dinner as we had an enjoyable experience the week before. This time however, we felt as though we were persona non grata. We were asked for our ID cards. No biggie. I comply, bringing our ID's to the female bartender who was acting kind of skittish. She handed them back and I ordered two well drinks which were advertised as $4 on their chalkboard signs. She charged me ten. With slight hesitance, I handed her the money and took our drinks. I walked outside to view the sign again just to make sure I wasn't mistaken. Yep, it clearly stated "$4 happy hour well drinks." I approached the bartender and politely pointed out the discrepancy to which she bristly replied "Oh, really? That's not right. It should say $5. We forgot to change the sign. So, uh you want your two dollars back?" She turned around and proceeded to reach into the tip bucket for two dollars. There was an extreme air of condescension in her tone and body language, which pretty much translated to "fuck your patronage." We finished our drinks and left for greener happy hour pastures. Now, I don't want to attribute this treatment to some sort of underlying prejudice but it sure as hell crossed my mind given the fact that we were the only brown, non-hipster, people in the bar. I only decided to write this review because upon passing by two weeks after, the sign in the window at Clem's was still advertising "$4 dollar happy hour well drinks." Don't waste your time or money with this place.

My first week of temporary living quarters in Williamsburg, brought me across Clem's three times. It took me until the third time to stop calling it Chum's. Bartenders are nice and the drinks are pretty cheap! They do not serve food, but I prefer liquid dinners (and breakfast and lunch).

Looking for a neighborhood bar that has a steady flow of people at all times? Come into Clem's. Just 2 days ago, snow was coming down heavily (which meant that the big windows of Clem provided a front row seat to people on bikes and cars, wiping out)...and I was there with my main squeeze from 11:30pm-2:30am. During that time, we ran into 2 travelers from over seas, one incredible bartender (who served up amazing Old Fashions and a ridiculous adult apple cider), and were treated to amazing jams. Soooo...several ***cough4each*** drinks later, my guy and I were...pretty damn drunk. And I asked the bartender if it was ok if we ordered a pizza, or food to have delivered to the bar so that our drunk asses weren't stumbling home in the snow. He said..."of course...and, you know...we do have Hot Pockets here in our cellar." I made some sort of gesture that is equivalent to someone celebrating a touch down or goal at a sporting event...and said..."BRING IT!! Of COURSE I choose a hotpocket over a legit pizza!" So, he literally disappeared into the floor...which my guy and I...in our stupor, thought was AMAZING...emerged, and within 5 minutes, delivered our hotpockets, so elegantly served on the actual box they came in...with a side of water. It was amazing. We were happy, a little less drunk, and reveling in the glory of having revisited the not so glamour parts of our childhood memories at a neighborhood watering hole. So...what's the word?---go to Clems. It's what all the not so cool kids are doing.

Let me make a razor sharp cut to the chase: This place fucking rules. What's that? $5 for a Sixpoint draft and a shot of Jim Beam? Anytime of day? You mean...it's not like a can of Schlitz and some nasty whiskey no one has heard of? FUCK YEAH x10000. If I'm feeling festive I could opt for the $3 Tecate and tequila shot deal. Didn't opt for it, but WHEN I feel festive I will. Been here two times, and both times I just hunkered down at the bar, didn't spend much money, slapped knees, slapped shoulders, guffawed, petted a dog, got free shots from the very friendly bartenders, and generally had an all-star time. You'll make me an alcoholic yet, Clem's.

Im here pretty often. This is one of my favorite bars in ny. Very laid back, no pretentions, dark, they carry Polaner, and Guiness. Outdoor seating... The bartenders are good, they don't mind if your in a beer-nursing mood, which is really rare in NYC.

We were there Friday night and the bartender which work at the entrance of the restaurant was very nasty. He commented that we were not to get a good service because on person in the group did not tip him. When in reality we tipped him very well and were nice to him. We are not going back to this bar.

I come here because the drinks are cheap. The bartenders have very cool mustaches and like to ignore you, but they usually play good music so I forgive. The crowd is of the 'sausage fest' persuasion most of the time, and very 'punk rock'. Come to think of it, this place was way more fun before the entire midwest moved to Brooklyn.

I've been here a couple of times and I must have been drunk because I didn't notice the taxidermied animal heads the other yelpers wrote about, ummm eww. I did take note of the friendly bartenders, (but I seem to have good luck with that though...of course I am a great tipper and very laid-back and never ask for annoying drinks). The music is pretty great and the bar is dark and cozy. Hmmmm about those animal heads...ick, I'll have to get back to you on that.

I visited this bar yesterday. It was a nice environment with death animal's decorations. The music was great and it got better the more I drank. Drinks were stiff and the bartenders are Excellent. Drinks Prices are ok for NYC. If you want to grab a drink this is the place to go. Remember don't drink and drive. Also... Just say No!!! LOL I like it and I'll be back.

Two things about Clems: 1. Hey, hipster dude, if your dog gets easily "riled up", as you say, then don't bring it to a bar. 2. I never thought that by not having a neck and/or chest tattoo I would be a minority Even though I went with a few good friends who love this place, it just seemed like I was sitting in a room with 25 carbon copies of one guy. A little too homogenous for my liking.

Very confusing to me how bad the service was. I work in the service industry so I know how hard it can be, but there was no reason for the bartender's behavior. I came in, showed my id to the bartender upon request, but she wouldn't take my order until the 15 people behind me had also showed their ids. When I asked for a drink she threatened to throw me out for giving attitude. Never got a drink, but was condescended to by the bartender, and even though everyone I was with did show their ids, I still was not served. Seemed strange sense it wasn't that busy. Mostly just confused as to why she didn't want to make money off us, we all complied with what she asked and we were still treated with disrespect. Definitely won't come back.

I'm into it. More so than any other bar around. My friend has gotten into a cake fight here. I've never left even remotely sober. They sell Utz. Great crowd. I like A.R.'s review better. Just read that.

Stopped in on a Saturday late afternoon to kill some time and was pleased to find weekend happy hour specials. Price is low and the bartender has hands of lightning although it may take her a bit to get to you considering how busy this place gets. Not the "nicest" bar but it's divey and gets the job done. Fit my needs perfectly.

Waitress was brutal. I understand covid and being short staffed. But she clearly was ignoring us. Waiting an HOUR to order our second round. Wanted to drink more hit had to leave because she was so bad. Only served her friends behind us. Sat and chatted. Asked her multiple times for a second round and no response.

Clem's used to be awesome. Back when it was smokey dark bar with sarcastic bartenders and weirdos floating around. Its just not the same anymore.

Clem's reminds me of Chicago. This makes it #1 in my book. It's really laid back and chill. No one's trying to impress anyone here, which is such a nice change of pace from other bars in the area. You're much more likely to run into a bearded boy who looks like he just chopped down a tree than you would, say, some little twerp with a stupid asymmetrical haircut. The bar is small, dark, and cozy, and it's never been too crowded when I've been there. Clem's also seems to draw an older crowd than most of the other bars in the neighbourhood, which I like a lot. Plus, those bartenders make a mean gin & tonic. It feels like home.

I really like this bar. It's cozy and has a decent crowd whenever I go. The bartenders are attentive and make good drinks, just strong enough that you feel like you got your money's worth even though they are served in small glasses. Beer & shot specials are great here, so cheap! I even celebrated a birthday here one year and we all had a great time. Was not too loud so we could actually hear ourselves talk, and the bar setup was good for sitting and standing. Overall a great experience whenever I am here. It isn't too far off the path of the subway but it gets away from the huge crowds in the rest of Williamsburg, my kind of place.

Really great little bar. Stuck to bottled beer and whiskey but my friends seemed to enjoy their draughts. Pretty wooden back bar. Graffiti'd but clean bathrooms. Will come back

Getting a drink at this place was like boxing out Emmanuel Lewis. No elbowing and no stress. Effort saved is intoxication earned. From what I recall (little), drinks were cheap and music was essentially Williamsburg Classics -- no real chances being taken here. As I went in December, I didn't really have the chance to check out the patio but suffice it to say that could lead me to award Clem's up to one more star. At this point though, it's kinda to Williamsburg what Jack Russel's is to the Upper East Side: unexceptional.

I've been going to Clem's for probably over ten years. Last nights visit will be my last. The moody, over grown child, with the bad attitude serving drinks on Thursday evenings was such a jerk I left half way thru my drink. If he does not want to be at his job he should just not show up. If asking for a drink in practically empty bar makes you huff and puff maybe bar tending is not for you. I've lived in the area for over 12 years. I use my money to vote on which business I'd like to stay and go from the area. So long Clem's. sincerely, non returning customer

F this place. I don't know who the bartender was but after my boyfriend waited at the bar for 10 minutes, the bartender rustled around "acting"like he was busy and then came up to him. He asked for an Irish coffee and the bartender says "this is a bar, we don't have coffee." I don't know if it was the type of bar we were in, but we were treated like shit. Hey Clem's bartender! Banter is a badass bar down to the street and he made me a badass Irish coffee.

GOOD BLOODY MARY's!! served with a pickled jalepeno and olives. Easy, laid back crowd.

Almost walked past this little corner dive bar on a Sunday morning, then saw the Bloody Mary special on the sign out front. Had one of the best Bloody Mary's and the bar tender was extremely nice. Worth the stop.

Had to come in here b/c of the name. Great atmosphere, awesome stiff drinks and nice bartenders. I would definitely hang out here again.

The vibe here is awesome. Everything I want and nothing I don't. The truth is that to look at me. I don't really fit in but....my heart knows I do...the music is amazing and the beer/shot $6 combo is insane! The bartender is delightful and sweet. I can tell she can find common ground with almost anyone...it's a great quality for a bartender to have. I don't know her name but she's wearing a tropes long sleeved shirt and a super cute necklace! Okay...I'll be back for sure...
