My kids go here and let me just say that it is one of the best dance places to go to. It's fun cool, and it is also VERY fun in the summer with all the camps. the treat the kids very well and also keeping it fun all the time. All the teachers there are super nice and I cant find a reason anyone wouldn't want to go here.In my personal opinion I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'd recommend it.

We recently attended our first performance at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance for the final matinee of "Granny Dances To A Holiday Drum." The performance was outstanding! There is something in this show for everyone -- the multicultural representation of different faiths and winter celebrations is a much appreciated addition to our city's list of holiday events and entertainment, and one we hope to make an annual tradition for our family for years to come. It was refreshing to see a range of ages, ethnicities, body types, and styles of dance represented on stage. Bravo! Perhaps even more noteworthy than the amazing performance itself, was the ethic of care, inclusivity, and accommodations made by the staff to ensure that ALL patrons can attend and enjoy the performance. The reserved seating of the first few rows for the elderly and people with disabilities is much appreciated. A member of our party is visually impaired and she was able to have a front row, up close viewing of the show and we were all able to sit together. I also left a bag of unique and special merchandise behind that was kindly turned into the staff. I was contacted less than 24 hours after the performance and was able to retrieve it during business hours. It is obvious that everyone connected to Cleo -- from the ushers, to the vendors in the lobby, to the performers on stage -- shares a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. This Five Points neighborhood gem is a beacon of hope, joy, and light. We can't wait to return for another performance in 2024!

Google
An absolutely incredible place. We take our kids to a variety of classes here throughout the year. If you have kids under the age of ~10 I can’t possibly put into words how much I recommend West African Drums with Mr. Koffi. Every now and then your kids are fortunate enough to have those teachers that they will remember for the rest of their lives and Mr. Koffi is one of those humans and teachers.

The Sadie Belly Dancing show we went to was excellent but it was sweltering hot in there and was a humid day to boot. Thus the 4 stars. A few large, we'll placed fans to move the air would have made a huge difference for all including the amazing performer's.

Max was subbing for Victoria in Creative today. He was absolutely patient and delivered kid friendly and accessible dance information. Thank you so much for our class today! I hope we’ll get to take class with you again!

Yelp
Nice venue. Intimate and very clean. The stage and the seats are perfectly placed. They seemed to struggle a bit with the sound adjustments and ensuring that the singing artists mic was loud enough. The drums overpowered the singer many times. However very skilled band. I was here for a charity event and it was very professionally executed!!

Yelp
I signed up for a west African dance class through ClassPass to try something new. Words cannot express how kind and welcoming the front desk staff and instructor are. It truly seems like this space values community. They offer different kinds of dance classes for adults and beginners, so do yourself a favor and try something new

Yelp
Dancing was awesome as usual at the performance at the Arvada Center last night, August 5, 2022. However, how rude if Cleo to have the A team dancers take a final bow and Cleo didn't acknowledge or have the B team take a final bow. How rude!! I won't support her studio now.

Yelp
World-class dance in Denver. I'm embarrassed that it took me so long to see a performance here. Now that I have, I'll be back often. For more than 40 years, they've offered classes and presented original productions. The dancers are a diverse group, and I love that they aren't all waif-like body types. They are all talented, though, and the choreography is interesting and creative.

Yelp
I am currently taking Adult Tap classes with 'Mr. Tap' at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Studio, and It's the BEST tap class offered in Denver. Mr. Tap offers an hour and a half of adult tap for mixed levels. I'm a beginner, and have learned a lot after only a few classes. Classes are Tuesday evenings 7:00-8:30. I hope Cleo Parker does a better job at promoting this class, because it's GREAT!

Yelp
This is a staple for the Denver community. It's a beautiful historic building. Love supporting the dance community! Performances are always reasonably priced and there is a wide variety of what is offered. Support you local performing arts! It did get a little warm while we were there, lots of lights for the stage, and not a lot of circulation...just an FYI, maybe wear layers.

Yelp
I saw them 7 years ago for their opening night (i did not know them i just happened to be there walking by and decided to go in...). It was a great great modern dance ballet. And unfortunately i have seen a lot of mediocre choregraphy in my life from all over the world (yep while in Paris, all those choregraphers showing new stuff). Anyway, i was really impressed. Last year, i tried to go to another show and they were totally sold out. This year i have my ticket already !! the website is not very detailed but you will have dates of performances. www.cleoparkerdance.org/

Yelp
As a dancer for 7 years I would have to say Cleo Parker Robinson Dance encourages, performs, promotes, and provides to the true meaning of Dance. The studio is in an old church. The place has additions made to it so the entrance might seem confusing but you go through the a stairwell that looks completely new opposed to the old architecture of the church. Cleo Parker herself is a very inspiring person which is a huge reason why I love to support this studio. You'll even see her in a Zumba class Saturday morning dancing with everyone! Now for the classes, I have the upmost respect for the company and the teachers who actually focus on GOOD technique and dancing from the heart. When I got to other studios (i.e. the competitive ones) they will sacrifice technique for moves that look better (i.e. kicking higher without caring about leg control and hip placement). The jazz class on saturday is my favorite I highly recommend it! It is not expensive and you will have fun!

Yelp
My review is about classes--I can't speak for the company itself. I arrived for ballet class one afternoon, which was canceled since not enough people showed up. Whatever, I get it, it's common practice, teachers have to get paid, it happens. They wouldn't refund my money, but they gave me a class credit. I subsequently went for a Horton class the next day, but the teacher never showed. After fifteen minutes one of the students wound up teaching the class; she did the best she could, but she was understandably unprepared and the class jerked and halted a lot.

Yelp
My daughter takes 5 classes a week here and I truly wouldn't send her anywhere else. They teach a variety of classes (African, Horton, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop) at a variety of levels. Their instructors are top notch. I've seen so much improvement in my daughter's technique since she started. I love how encouraging and welcoming everyone is. My son takes drumming classes with Kofi. Kofi is an amazing teacher and drummer who also teaches adult classes and drums for some of the African dance classes. I got to see the professional company dance in Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum this year again (I've gone almost every year since 2000). Keeps getting better! Love Cleo, the studio, and the company.

Yelp
Great place for ballet lessons. Michelle was awesome, instructive, and patient with the different levels in her adult beginners class. The room was large and everyone could move about easily. Bonus was the live piano accompaniment. Classes are $15 per session and there are package deals as well. You can also obeserve a class before deciding to join.

Yelp
I Love their very affordable performances, there are no other dance companies in CO that support, encourage and offer a forum for Black dancers & other non-white ethnic groups to perform. Its so refreshing to see that. But, I will add that Ms. Cleo does welcome all races with open arms. Ms. Cleo is amazingly nice and encouraging. I saw some complaints about her dances classes but its probably because they don't get the financial support that is needed to keep things running smoothly, so donate your money and time to make it better for everyone. By the way, I do volunteer there when they ask me for help and I have already purchased tickets for the upcoming Dec 4th performance to offer my support.

Yelp
This review is for the facility, not the dance ensemble. This place has some old building charms (light fixtures falling out, duct taped into place) but not the kind you'd enjoy. The seats, dear God, were the most uncomfortable seats I've sat in my life. I actually had to stand up halfway through the performance I was watching because my backside hurt. Some seats are pews, some are vintage wooden theater style... either way if you're coming here you may want to bring a cushion or something. You can park at the Safeway across the street. They were playing drum music rather loud while we were waiting for the doors to open for the performance we were going to see. It was kind of bothersome, as when we finally sat down in front of the stage the area we were in was playing music as well and with the door open we could hear both. I'm not sure that this place is very handicap friendly, based on the amphitheater set up.

Yelp
Amazing dancers and entertaining for adults, families, pretty much everyone. I saw Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum last December and it was so much fun. A must if you have younger children who love music and dance but aren't able to sit through another year of The Nutcracker(also beautiful, but been there done that). Perfect for someone looking for something with a holiday feel that is not just about Christmas, but traditions and holidays from all over the world.

Yelp
Took the LEVEL ONE BEGINNER hip hop class.....WOW. What a joke. Its Monday night, had a hard day at work just wanted a fun night of great music and a routine to break a sweat to. Well there's 15 dollars and 1.5 hours of my life I will not get back again. The instructor Ray was scattered and not together. No 8 counts were given consistently and it was as if she was putting it together as she went along. Never once was the routine shown to the 'newbies' as a whole so they could visualize the routine and catch the vibe of it. No break downs put to music and I literally don't think we ever got through more than 20 seconds of the song. Literally I was bored, disappointed and annoyed that I wasted my time. If you are a professional you have the choreography prepared prior to attempting to instruct others on it. I have danced and been to several classes in my life, all over the country and none were as unprofessional or unorganized as this one. I learn through visualization and repetition in which can be put to the beat of the music. Learn basics, get it down - clean - then add the attitude & individuality. Well apparently my quiet analytical nature was unacceptable to Ray and as I hit the stairs just outside the studio she made a comment & judgment regarding my confidence level to the remaining students in the room whom do not know me, nor do I know them. Wow. Classy. I think if I had a lack of confidence I would've been hurt or upset, instead I am left disappointed and concerned. It is instructors such as this that leave impressionable young dancers scarred and removed from a sincere passion for the art. Please think twice before you waste your time on this class or any others with this instructor....that is unless you would like to be belittled and unfairly judged not to mention bored out of your mind. DANCE IN A COMMUNITY CENTER-ESK ENVIRONMENT SHOULD BE A PLACE DANCERS GO TO SHARE A LOVE FOR THE ART. IT SHOULD BUILD PEOPLE UP, GIVE THEM A PLACE TO LET LOSE AND HAVE SOME FUN WITHOUT JUDGEMENT OR BELITTLEMENT. PARENT'S BEWARE!
