"The friendly, family-run Mediterranean restaurant on the West Bank is another gem that’s unassuming from the outside, but is a lovely special occasion destination on the inside; white linen tablecloths, hanging plants, and low lighting make for a cozy space. Cleopatra is particularly known for its halal lamb, considered by many as the best on the West Bank, if not the whole area." - Clair Lorell, Beth D'Addono

I recently hosted my graduation party here and I can’t say enough good things about my experience. The staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and professional. The food was amazing and came out in a timely manner considering how many people there were. I would highly recommend Cleopatra to anyone looking to host a party or event!

Google
Cleopatra Mediterranean Cuisine is an absolute gem! The chicken kabobs are hands down the best I’ve ever had—grilled to perfection, juicy, and bursting with bold, smoky flavor. Every bite is packed with that rich Mediterranean seasoning that makes you want to slow down and savor it. And don’t even get me started on the eggplant baba ghanouj—creamy, silky, and beautifully smoky, topped with olive oil and fresh herbs. It’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes for a second and just feel it. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, with soft lighting, calming music, and elegant touches that transport you straight to the Mediterranean. The service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. If you’re craving authentic Mediterranean cuisine, Cleopatra is the spot. I’ll absolutely be coming back

Google
I’m not really a big fan of Mediterranean cuisines, but this place is so authentic that I keep wanting to come back. I love how they provide huge portions of complimentary bread before your meal and pair it with pickled veggies. I ordered the fried kibby, lamb chops, chicken tikka, and beef shawarma. The portions are ginormous and definitely worth the price!!! You can tell everything is homemade, and my favorite is the hummus! It’s soooo good!!!! What made my dining experience even better was the service. Our waiter was phenomenal. Very attentive and accommodating to our requests!

Google
I noticed this restaurant on the map and decided to stop by. I didn't regret it for a minute. The food was amazing. The meat was simply magical! The portions, like those of hospitable hosts, did not leave us hungry. AND COFFEE!!! It's been a long time since I found good coffee, and even with baklava. I would be a frequent visitor if such an establishment were in my city. The prices are an additional plus to add to the collection of compliments. I will leave only one wish for the owners: please change the quality of water supplied to the client. This is the only thing that is very upsetting.

Google
I was very impressed with this restaurant! The server went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. Super sweet guy. Now the food... 🙌 DELICIOUS. I loved their baba ganoush, loved the bread, loved the lamb skewers... everything was just amazing. Definitely recommend. Update: I ordered take-out, I couldn't forget this place 🤤 I ordered the lamb chops, which came with a side of tasty hummus, salad, and rice. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked. They were tender and seasoned well. So good. Of course I had to get my favorite, baba ganoush & baklava! Everything was fantastic 🤤 This is officially one of my favorite restaurants ❤️

Google
Really great food and service! Very attentive staff and food was ready within minutes. Good spot with good quality ingredients leading to delicious meals

Google
Had us sit for around ten minutes, and told us that we would most likely be able to be served. Then, they told us they wouldn’t be able to do it and only to-go, while there were other families eating. Terrible impression

Google
Good food, especially the burger is juice and a nice I recommend it a lot a, I have came here twice and I love it

Yelp
Lunch menu is inexpensive. Their lentil soup is unrivaled; I come here just to eat it. Point. blank. period.!

maryam a.

Yelp
This place has incredible authentic middle eastern cuisine. So delicious and the service was incredible. I can't wait to come by and try more dishes. The inside is clean and open with Arabic music playing in the background.

Jim G.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. No doubt my favorite all-around middle eastern restaurant in Nola. Everything on the menu is at a minimum good, their lentil soup may be best in town, chicken & shrimp kebabs are great, the rice is distinctive, plates come with a flavor-packed whipped garlic sauce (it's unnamed but I'd call it toum) that makes everything it touches better, and service is consistently good. It's not gourmet or atmospheric and they don't serve alcohol, so not a date night type place, but definitely a great lunch, weeknight or family dinner spot.

Taylor K.

Yelp
I've been going here for years. I love it. The food is always wonderful. The service is relatively fast and the staff is always nice.

Julissa P.

Yelp
The best Mediterranean food in Harvey ! Food is amazing! The staffs are really nice . full of good vibes!you can talk and feel peace!

George O.

Yelp
Standard Mediterranean food in a nondescript space in a rundown strip mall on the West Bank of the New Orleans metro area. The service was good w large filling portions @ a relatively decent price although there are better options elsewhere in the city.

Mommy G.

Yelp
Cleopatra is my "go to" restaurant when I craze gyros and fries. The food is abundant and oh so delicious. The service is very fast and accommodating . The dining area looks to comfortable, warm and relaxing.

Haifa H.

Yelp
Great food. Fast. The prices are very affordable. It's a nice place to sit and just have a great meal

Alicia L.

Yelp
Best Mediterranean on West Bank, super fresh and flavorful food, customer service always 10/10

Adrian S.

Yelp
I have only had Mediterranean food a few times, however that didnt stop me from visiting this place while visiting in NOLA. I ordered the chicken shawarma and let me tell you. It was THE BEST chicken shawarma I ever had in my life. It was so good. I had them twice within a week span of my visit. The chicken was nice and tender, the rice wasn't tough or mushy, and the hummus was on point to tie it all up. The amount of flavors you get when combining all three is impeccable. The next time I go, I plan to order the Grilled Salmon entree. The overall set up of the restaurant is very inviting and I like the fact that there is soft music playing in the background. The dimmed lights are a nice touch as well. Side Note: Order the Lebanese Tea, you wont be disappointed.

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Ate here for a quick lunch and was very surprised at how delicious everything was! The staff was great, the food was sooo good! They bring out pita bread right away and it definitely tastes like they make it in house. Very very fluffy pita bread! We even brought extra home! And at the end the server gave us free baklava to take home! Not sure cause he saw me very large and pregnant and felt I needed it or was just being very nice! But it was awesome! Definitely eat here!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
The food is pretty good. & we were getting take out every Friday night....UNTIL I found a brush fiber (like from a food basting brush) in my Chicken schwarma! Yuk! I just can't get past it now.... Next...!

Leslie S.

Yelp
THE BEST Mediterranean restaurant out here!!! Ugh the beef shawarma w/ lentil soup will always be my favorite!!!!! & Salem is always such an amazing server!! Me & my sister don't ever need to ask for more drinks! He just brings it out! 10/10 stars! LOVE IT HERE

Ana P.

Yelp
The food is good and tasty. Simple place, with a lot of love! The owners made us feel very welcomed and were super nice and attentive. Great experience, definitely recommend! :)

Travis C.

Yelp
Cleopatra was recommended while working in the area. It was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and quiet for lunch. Our waiter was prompt and even offered us a complimentary dessert since it was our first time there. I will definitely be back because there were many items on the regular menu that I would love to try. The lunch menu offered all the classics. I got a lamb kabob and my friend got a sampler plate. We were both happy with our selections.

Alan W.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! My go to spot for Greek food when I'm on the westbank. I'll be back soon.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Unless you were looking for this place, you wouldn't even know this place existed since it was tucked away in a dark corner of a strip mall. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night, so was a bit worried at first, but once the food came out, was super happy with everything. It also helped that our waitress was friendly and super helpful. We ordered the following, which all came with a soup or salad. - lamb chops (5 pieces), which came with grilled veggies and hummus - My dad said that they were the best lamb chops he's ever had - beef and chicken shawarma with rice, hummus, and - very flavorful - lamb kebabs - didn't have the game smell that lamb usually has and flavorful -Lebanon tea - refreshing and the tea wasn't super sweet If I lived in this area, I would come definitely come here whenever I crave Mediterranean food.

Christan W.

Yelp
The food here never disappoints! I usually order the chicken shawarma for takeout, and my husband gets that or the gyro plate. Both dishes are delicious. We always take our food to go to enjoy at home as the restaurant is nearby. The restaurant itself really doesn't have much ambience but they can accommodate large groups. I always see large groups of family and friends when I go to pick up food. Be sure to try the hummus. It is divine!

Marisa R.

Yelp
This is so far my favorite Mediterranean Restaurant in the Orleans/Jefferson Parish area. I ordered the Chicken and Gyro combo plate. The chicken and gyro were cooked and seasoned perfectly. We told them it was our first time there and they made us feel so welcome, and even gave us a free dessert at the end. The atmosphere was perfect, and so was the food. I highly recommend the experience here.

Fernando E.

Yelp
We were craving good Middle Eastern food on the Westbank and lucked out with Cleopatra. As you go in the restaurant looks elegant with white table cloths , but we didn't feel uncomfortable dressed casually. Service was great and friendly. We started off with baba ganoj and some wonderful fresh pita bread. They also bright out some wonderful pickled veggies. We had the lamb chops which were presented well and cooked perfectly. Also the shrimp kabobs were very good. The baklava was warm , fresh and awesome. This is a very good restaurant for Middle Eastern food that we will happily return to.

Chloe P.

Yelp
This is one of the best Mediterranean places in town! I went with my friend for a dinner date, and we ordered the vegetarian platter and combined shawarma plate. Compared with other Mediterranean places I've tried in NOLA, the meat was the best at Cleopatra. It comes with side dipping sauces of the yogurt and garlic variety that are to die for!! Further, they have fresh, warm pita bread that is delicious to eat along with it. As for the vegetarian plate, it was also great (babaganoush was outstanding), but I would have to say that Albasha wins out in its vegetarian plate offered. The one at Cleopatra comes with a set 5 items on it: babaganoush, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, tabouleh, and falafel, whereas you can choose 5 items of your liking to customize your vegetarian plate at Albasha. Still solid. The ambiance was very nice, more quiet and sophisticated-- ideal for a date or a place to wind down after a chaotic day. Staff was kind and kept us supplied with pita bread. Also: they brought out pickled vegetables with pita after we had ordered, then salads, then our plates! I felt really well-treated.

David G.

Yelp
Best lunch on the Westbank and arguably in the entire New Orleans area. Not sure how they make their rice so good, but its some of the best I've ever had. The combo plate is the way to go, the gyro meat is outstanding! The hummus and pita is perfect. I promise you will love everything on the menu. It is absolutely an hidden gem!

Marielle S.

Yelp
It's time for an update and I am declaring Cleopatra the best lunch spot in town! I know those are some big words, but I stand by them. Cleopatra consistently offers delicious, fresh and fast lunch at a price that's almost criminal. They have an entire lunch menu of options, but I usually get the beef shawarma plate which comes with hummus, rice, pita, a good size salad and pickled vegetables, all for $10 before tip. This sounds like a lot of food, because it is. These are generous "dinner sized" portions of delicious, fresh food and you can't beat the price. I also like this spot because they know that if you're here for lunch on a weekday, you have to get back to work, so you get the food fast. You'd think quality would suffer, but it doesn't at all. It comes out hot and delicious. This is a family owned place and service is always excellent and the owners take pride in their restaurant and it shows. I love the food here and I really need to make of eating here more often.

Anthony N.

Yelp
Came here for an early dinner to catch up with a friend. We were excited to try this place because we heard such great things about it. A server sat us at a table and the place looked nice. The menu was quite large, so we wanted to try everything! We ended up ordering the Cleopatra Special Appetizer, Lamb Kabob Entree, the Gyro Plate, and Lentil Bean Soup as our choice of soup for both entrees. Shortly after ordering, our server brought us our drinks, some pickled vegetables, and pita bread to start off our meal. Our appetizer came out and I already knew we were going to leave the restaurant pretty stuffed. The Cleopatra Special came with a little bit of every appetizer and it was good, but nothing too amazing. The Lentil Bean soup was a hearty soup that I enjoyed before my entree came. At this point, we were already somewhat stuffed and then our entrees come out! They both looked like your average Mediterranean dish, but I was still ready to grub out. They both came with hummus, basmati rice, onions, tzatziki sauce, and some pita bread to make it a complete meal. I liked my gyro plate more than my friend's lamb kabob, but they were both pretty good. Nothing too amazing, but both solid choices. I'm not sure how, but I managed to finish my whole dish in the end! All in all, a solid Mediterranean restaurant in the Westbank! There are plenty of options on the menu and you will leave content. I still have much to try and a good friend of mines said I HAVE to try their Lebanese tea next time!

Jess C.

Yelp
The lunch portions are huge and the price is right. In my eyes there are only two Mediterranean food places on the wank that are good. This one and the Sahara. The lunch menu that is offered here beats Sahara because they do not have a lunch menu. For under $10 you get the meat, a large serving of rice, a side of hummus and a side of salad.. plus a whole fresh pita. Everything was good and you cannot beat the price. I feel the gyro meat was a little less seasoned but still good. Definitely will return for the lunch specials.

Charles P.

Yelp
Great Hummus and Steak Kabobs. Pita bread is made Fresh daily. The Lebanese Tea is also GREAT, but single serving.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Great Food great service The boil fish and veggies are great! Lentil soup is very delicious!

Lorynn C.

Yelp
I was beyond pleased with all aspects of my experience! The atmosphere was very authentic and quiet and the complementary pita we received was very fresh and warm. We also got a Greek salad and chicken shawarma. Everything was extremely fresh and the portions weren't too small or too large- they were just the perfect size. Not too pricey either. And our waiter was the cherry on top! He was kind, helpful, attentive, and made our experience all the better. I will definitely be returning here.

Morgan C.

Yelp
Good place to eat on the westbank! Have been going here since I was little and still remains a favorite

Tomesha A.

Yelp
Nothing short of delicious nothing short of AH-maxing ask for Mohammad, he's the best server I've ever met!!! The food is to die for!!

Mary L.

Yelp
Had an early quiet dinner here tonight. We had the hummus, gyro platter and grilled shrimp platter. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. Very large portions so now we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. First time here but will definitely be back. They had the tables well distanced and there is plenty of room. They wore masks and are offering curbside pickup. The only sad part was that the baklava was not done cooking but I am sure it is amazing!

Shannon S.

Yelp
I have to admit I had avoided going here for many years as I was leary of sampling Middle Eastern food in a Westbank strip mall but now I'm sad I didn't make the attempt long ago as this place was a fantastic delight even though it is in an awful strip mall location. Great food and great service makes this a really enjoyable place to eat. They give a different type of pita from most other Middle Eastern restaurants in the area and it is more of a puffy type. They give really good portion sizes and the food is all well done. You get free pita and a selection of pickled vegetables and olives lagnappe as a starter. Prices were a good value for the portion size you get. Overall it is one of the better places I've eaten at on the Westbank and it seems to have a dedicated following among Middle Eastern folks in the area.

Michael C.

Yelp
They make the best Mediterranean food in the Westbank. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Excellent Food and service. Always get takeout but restaurant ambiance is inviting. Lamb chops were delicious

Tony L.

Yelp
Great place to eat. My favorite dish is the gyro and chicken platter with a side of vegetable soup. The portion side is great to share with a date which is good if you want to try multiple dishes. The staff is friendly and make you feel welcome. The cook takes great details on crafting the dishes. Always have a great tasting meal.

Leibo R.

Yelp
I've been eating here since the first day it opened and it has always been a great place to dine. 5 Lamb Chops

Nicole C.

Yelp
Local unassuming restaurant in a strip mall, not your jam? Well, you are missing out! This place is wonderful!!! (yes, worth the 3 exclamation points) Enjoyed dinner here on a Friday night. The pita was warm and delicious. Started with the Fried Cauliflower and Eggplant. This dish was very tasty. Also ordered was the Steak Kabob which my husband said he would come back for again and again. I had the Sauteed Vegetable Plate and it was enough for three people. The Lebanesse Iced Tea and the Fresh Mint Lemonade would quench any thirst. Both very sweet, which we enjoyed. I imagine this Summer I will be craving that Lemonade (more like a slush). The Baklava was the perfect end to the meal. Very happy we finally dined here! Note: No alcohol served.

Mally A.

Yelp
We were invited to have lunch here one afternoon and I have absolutely no regrets! First of all, the customer service is Out of this world, you see many different ethnic groups eating here and the food is amazing. The food is worth every Penny. If you have a "craving" for something not on the menu, just ask to see if they can make it for you, you might be pleasantly surprised! Highly recommend!

Kris C.

Yelp
This is our go to place when we have a group of people. There are always lots of room for large groups. Today we had a group of 13 of us and they accommodated us without any problems. Have been here many times and the food is always consistently great. The gyro and chicken shawarma are too of my favorites. Also try the lentil soup, I think it's the best in the city. The people working here are always polite and helpful. I will continue to enjoy this place.

Jessica T.

Yelp
I ate at Cleopatra for the first time many, many years ago when it first opened and remembered it being good. Even though it's five minutes away from my house, I always forget about it because it's tucked away in a lonely strip on Manhattan that doesn't get a lot of foot traffic. I randomly decided to dine here again for dinner because I was in the mood for Mediterranean. The inside is spacious but very plain and simple. The decor could use a little sprucing up because it seems a little old and outdated. There were a ton of open tables and it was pretty empty for a Friday night. I'm not sure how much business they get regularly for dine-in, but to-go orders seemed steady. To start, we were given complimentary pita with olive oil and a plate of veggies. My bf and I ordered the Cleopatra platter to split as an appetizer. It came with falafel, hummus, kibbi, yogurt, veggies and grape leaves. The falafel was my favorite, delicious and the perfect amount of crispiness with a lot of flavor. I'm still thinking about how tasty it was! It was my first time sampling grape leaves and I wasn't crazy about them; maybe they're an acquired taste? We also split the steak kabobs and gyro plate. You get a choice of the lentil soup or a salad with your entree, so we ended up with a lot of food we couldn't finish. The steak kabobs were a little disappointing and not as tender as I expected, so I probably wouldn't re-order. The gyro plate was really good though, as was the service. The prices are very reasonable and I can see it becoming a regular place for me.

Ethan C.

Yelp
I barely had any experience in middle eastern food but this one was really good. The service was great even though it was kind of busy when we got in. The food was great. We had the grilled salmon, gyro and falafel. All were great. I would recommend this place and would come back for sure.

Elliott H.

Yelp
I have been going there for about five years. Food is always excellent and service is usually pretty good. Occasionally I'll place an order to pick up on a Saturday and they're having a party but still do take out order...this is usually kinda messy. The last time I picked up my chicken Shawarma and a separate order of chicken kebab I noticed that the price was a little higher and I had a little less chicken. I understand meat prices are higher but this was kinda of disappointing since the price seemed to be higher for the meal.

Brittany B.

Yelp
Please note that this review is from a take out experience only. I've ordered food to go 2 times from this place. Every time I get the chicken swarma plate... I don't think I'm spelling that right. This place is so great! The food is wonderful and has great flavor. They also give you big portions. The staff always greets me right away and is very nice. Every time I come here, there's really no one inside though. They are also really fast. I ordered when I got there and got my food within 10 minutes. My only complaint is their decorations.... It holds a lack of being not comfortable. Will definitely keep getting my to go food from this place

Xochilt J.

Yelp
I had a greek salad with a chicken skewer. It was really good.& They were careful with my mushroom, blue cheese & truffle oil allergy

Rachel C.

Yelp
Very quiet, very clean and great food at a great price. Nice waitstaff as well. I will definitely be back or at the very least do takeout,

Sarah H.

Yelp
Don't sleep on the unassuming Cleopatra's restaurant on the West Bank. Some of the best Mediterranean food I have eaten. They bring pickled veggies and olives, plus warm homemade bread, oil and za'atar for dipping out to the table. Get the Fried cauliflower and eggplant app, it was incredible! (No pics cause we ate it up!) The dolmas were also very good. I got the vegetarian plate and it was excellent. Best tabbouleh I have had! Mom said the falafel were the best she's ever had (my fav are Shaya). And our server Lacie knew the ingredients in the different items, including sauces, which was very nice. Will definitely be back!

Randall B.

Yelp
Good food. Good service! Will definitely go back. If you haven't had it or didn't know about it its worth a try.

Julia W.

Yelp
This is my second time here and I am really glad that I came back. The updated interior is beautiful, warm, and inviting. I ordered a Gyro & Ck Shawarma Combo Plate w/ Vegetable Soup and Baba Ganoush dip. Their hummus was a perfect balance of flavors. It was a great meal overall. :)
