Chic New Bar Clique Bistro Now Open in the Montrose - Eater Houston

"There’s a cozy new spot in Montrose for drinks and shareable bites like broiled Blue Point oysters covered in tamarin herb butter. After pandemic-related delays, Clique Bistro softly opened this fall at 120 Westheimer Road on the border of Montrose and Midtown. The bar is from the same owners as the also recently-opened very buzzy EaDo barbecue spot J-Bar-M Barbecue. This time, the focus is on craft cocktails and snacks from chef Justin Santellana, who taught at Culinary Institute LeNotre. He’s serving globally-influenced cuisine like citrus scallops ceviche, poke nori tacos, braised pork empanadas, and goat-cheese-topped purple roasted beets and golden pickled beets." - Adele Chapin

Went here for dinner and was surprised with what I saw behind the bar. The bourbon selection had really hard to find bourbons. I asked hesitantly how much one of the drinks cost. $9! That same drink somewhere else would be $50 minimum because you can't find this anywhere. $9! I was blown away. Also, the food was delicious.

Excellent addition to the Montrose restaurant scene. Two of us shared scallops, tofu rolls and sliders. Everything was great. Wine list was splendid and generously priced.

The ambiance, music, food, service all perfect. Service was exceptional. Had the pork cheek and hallibut tacos, delicious. Good happy hour too!

I can’t say enough good things about Clique Bistro. Had the opportunity to try it for the soft opening and none of the dishes disappointed. Had the beef short rib and my wife had the pork cheek with gnocchi in a homemade marinara herb sauce. The ceviche appetizer was really special. Kids loved the tarts at desert. We all loved the seasonal sorbet (watermelon, raspberry and blackberry) were a perfect summer desert. Nice work Clique bistro! Understand the menu is expanding next week. Will be back again to see what is next.
