The Best Bars for Business Drinks in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This place didn’t stay secret for long. A small, narrow room located behind a hidden door is home to some of the finest cocktails in the city. There are no menus here; just tell the bartender your spirit of choice and the flavour you like (i.e. smoky, sour, bitter, sweet), and let them do their thing." - Daniel Bromberg

This bar has definitely earned its spot on the world's best bars list for several consecutive years. A very unique drinking experience, where no menus exist. You give the bartender your taste preferences and they whip up a unique drink right in front of you! You pay by the alcohol used, so expect prices to be about $20 or more depending on how expensive the liquor in the drink is. You can specify if you'd like a particular spirit. The bartenders are quite friendly and extremely skilled at their jobs. Half the fun is drinking the drinks, and the other half is watching them be made. The quality of the drinks earns it a repeat visit.

Atmosphere: 9/10 Tucked behind a tailor shop in Montreal’s Golden Square Mile, this speakeasy delivers an upscale and intimate experience. The small mirrored room cleverly feels larger than it is, anchored by an impressive backbar and a mix of bar stools and rear tables. The suit tailor–speakeasy concept places this bar in the same league as Dandy Room (Beijing) and Taylor Adam (Singapore). The overall layout even evokes Opium BKK in Bangkok. Music sits at a perfect volume for conversation. Drinks: 9/10 Recommendation: Bartender’s Choice There is no menu; cocktails are crafted based on guest preferences. The bartenders excel at translating flavor requests into perfectly balanced drinks. High-quality glassware and coasters are used, though presentations are minimalistic, often without garnish. A welcome drink is offered upon arrival. Service: 9/10 Water is served on arrival, and the team is attentive and friendly. Coat service is provided. Prices are slightly above average for Montreal, but the personalized service justifies the cost.

Google
Still Great, But Less Personal Cloakroom Bar remains a top-tier speakeasy in Montreal, offering an intimate and exclusive cocktail experience. The hidden entrance and tiny space add to its charm, making every visit feel special. The cocktails are still expertly crafted, but the experience feels less personalized than before. Previously, bartenders engaged in a deep conversation to tailor your drink; now, they ask three quick questions and get to work. The quality is still there, but the magic of true customization feels a bit diminished. Still worth a visit, but longtime fans might notice the difference.

Google
Amazingly personal cocktail experience. The welcome drink was absolutely delicious that everyone in my party enjoyed despite all of us having very different preferences. We all very much enjoyed our curated personal cocktails, even though we had varying degrees of understanding of what we liked & disliked, haha :) Staff was extremely knowledgeable without pretentiousness, and didn't make anyone feel out of place. Bar and atmosphere itself is very dark, small, and moody in a cool way.

Google
Cloakroom was such a great experience. Each drink is made personally from scratch after chatting with the bartender about what you like, so every cocktail feels like a fun surprise. The drinks were creative and delicious. It's a small place and can be hard to get into, but totally worth it. The bar itself looks amazing and the atmosphere is top-notch. Would definitely love to go back.

Google
Awesome atmosphere only waited around 25 minutes for 6 people and got our drinks curated by the barista based on the flavour profile of everyone. Prices are a bit in the high end so be ready to spend a fair amount.

Google
Very unique experience. They don’t have a drink menu. They create cocktails. Prices are according to expectation at a place like this. $40 for two cocktails. Strong and tasty drinks. Friendly staff. Super friendly host who went out of his way to be of service to us. Thank you.

Google
Beautiful place with the right vibes for a night out and a fancy atmosphere. We felt welcome and were accommodated nicely. I have to say that the cocktails are not as good as expected. It was rather „simple“ and did not have a special twist. My friends cocktail was very much ginger-forward and you could not taste more flavors. My drink was good, but quite ‚regular‘. As some other reviews say: they make classic cocktails with really just a light spin to it.

Yelp
What a wonderful find during our stay in Montreal. Being fans of speakeasy-style establishments, Cloakroom Bar stood out as a spot we wanted to try. Located in a lovely building on Rue de la Montagne not far from our hotel, you ascent the stair into the entryway facing a mirrored wood lined wall. Soon a "door" opens in the wall and you're greeted; after a short walk along a dimly-lit corridor into a very small and cozy bar. It's perfectly dark and intimate, accommodating only 25 patrons. There is some bar seating and opposite that several small tables along the wall. Our server, Matthieu promptly greeted us and explained the really nice, unique concept - no menu, you're asked to describe the type of cocktail aspects and flavor profiles you enjoy and the bartender then crafts you something to fit that. It's really an interesting idea and it works wonderfully. Our drinks were both somewhat similar to an extent but each quite different. Gin-based, botanical and citrus forward. There were cucumber accents in mine with my wife's having just a hint of Aperol but in no way overpowering. Really just delicious. I'd say the cocktails a priced above average, about $20 to 25 per drink, but it is well worth it for uniquely crafted drinks tailored to your liking. The ambiance is relaxed, dark and intimate. It is the kind of spot you could see yourself frequenting if you lived here. I definitely would. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, so we got in right away but evidently there can often be a long wait for a seat. On our visit there were about 8 or 10 patrons. It's small and feels very cozy. I will definitely want to stop in again.

Yelp
A speakeasy (off to the side of a men's clothing store) without a menu where the bartenders make you something off the cuff. The interior was giving high end gentlemen's club (in a good way) with luxe and glam accents. I squeezed a last minute spot amongst the (only) 25 seats available and told the bartender what I like (complex and not too sweet). They delivered yummy cocktail and friendly conversation which I appreciated! Logistics: - indoor seating only - limited street parking nearby

Yelp
Very cool spot. Come here before a dinner reservation, the place was not that busy around 530pm, and it worked to our advantage. Some people in reviews complained about price of cocktails, and yeah, it's not cheap, but for what i'd consider to be a well crafted cocktail with attention to detail, it really wasn't bad. I would not be willing to spend more though, literally at the uppermost threshold of what i'd spend on a cocktail of this caliber. My big suggestion to anyone visiting, be as specific as you can with what you do like and what you do not like. It will only help the person who is making your cocktail make something more catered to you. Our first round we were a little vague (we tend to like this), and look, the drink was good, but not what we 'wanted'. The second round we were much more specific (we like this, are in the mood for something this style, we don't want this or this included in the flavor profile, etc), and the cocktails were absolutely fantastic and what our taste buds wanted. In the area, stop in. Is it worth waiting 60+ minutes for, eh, not really. But next time i'm in the area, will def stop by. Sidenote, they have some very good whiskey on the shelf, well above my pay-scale, but if you got the corporate card or expense account, worth the wait.

Yelp
Such a cool, intimate spot. There's no menu -- the bartenders craft drinks based on your flavor preferences, and they nail it. The space is small and hidden, which adds to the charm. It feels personal, creative, and unlike any typical bar experience. Definitely worth seeking out if you're into cocktails with a twist.

Yelp
This bar is Top 50 for a reason! The ambiance,m and service was excellent. The waitress starts by asking you simple questions on your alcohol of choice followed by various others such as fruity, herbal, refreshing, etc where the bartenders make a drink based on your answers. It was such a cool concept. If I ever get the chance to visit Montreal again, I'll definitely be stopping by!

Yelp
1000000/10 recommend this to anyone visiting or a local. This was by far the best experience I had at a speakeasy. I have visited many top 50 bars in different countries but this one, so far is my number one! What a cool no menu experience. The bartenders are literal gods! They make magic every cocktail I got was phenomenal and I mean can you blame them ? Look at them. They def know what they are doing. I would go back to Montreal just for this bar!

Yelp
Small, but amazing quality cocktail bar! With speakeasy type vibes, Cloakroom is adjacent to a Men's wear shop with a "secret" door. From the moment we walked through the door the service was spectacular. What makes this cocktail bar unique is they do not have a menu and create custom cocktails directed toward spirits you normally drink, but add their own touch. Every drink I ordered was amazing! Space fills up quick, but it is worth it!

Yelp
Very small speakeasy bar without a menu. Drinks: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Highlights: - Speakeasy style: wait in a room that does look like a closet and very small and dark inside with a short bar and some seats inside the room. They use a mirror to give the illusion of a larger space. - No menu so you let them know what you like and they concoct you something. You can go as standard or as unique as you would like. Midlights: - My first drink was just OK as a take on an old fashioned but my second was fantastic (take on a vesper). Lowlights: - There is limited space so could wait a while with a more than 2 people and on a weekend night. We went later on a Sunday and only waited a few minutes. Coolest cocktail spot we went during our Montreal stint and would come back.

Yelp
Impeccable vibe. We got there earlier (8?) on a Monday evening and was able to snag a seat in the small cozy space; by the time we left (10?) there was a line waiting outside. The premise of the bar is that rather than have a menu, they custom-make drinks to our specifications. My friend and I have different palates and ordered two drinks each, we thought all of them met the mark.

Yelp
This is a great speakeasy. You enter through a special entrance (not going to divulge the secret) There isn't a menu. The bartender crafts your drink especially for you and your taste. The ambiance is very upscale and classy, kinda dark. We were happy that we got to experience this place while in Montreal. Definitely a speakeasy to experience!!
google avatar

Blake H.

Yelp
This was an awesome experience! No menu so you tell the bartender what you like and they make you a specialty drink. This was a speakeasy type bar that was small but enjoyable. Perfect for a predate before the date night for a couple!
google avatar

Yelp
This bar is rated highly for a reason - the service, the ambiance, the drinks - all 10/10. The space is small and intimate which is perfect, but make sure to understand there could be a wait, which is worth it! Any future trips to Montreal will include a stop to the Cloakroom!

Yelp
While on a girls trip, I stumbled upon this chic speakeasy. We arrived here on a late Friday night around midnight. The entrance to get in, was a bit confusing. I guess that's the whole point of it being a hidden speakeasy. There was just a sign that said wait to be seated. Was fun wondering when someone would pop through a random secret door and greet us. Upon 5 mins of waiting, someone did pop and asked us to wait for another 15-20 mins but got us to our seats on the bar within less than 10 mins. It's a small venue and can only accommodate 10-15 people hence gives that intimate, classy vibe and etiquette of a speakeasy. The music is not too loud, you can have a conversation. Great spot for a date night. It was the best mixology/cocktail and speakeasy experience I had. The concept is really cool. It has No-Menu. Bartender ask you a bunch of questions about your preferences, desired flavors and alcohol then craft you a cocktail on the fly based on your answers. Our bartender was very knowledgeable, chatty, and super friendly. My brief was something refreshing with gin and my friend wanted something fruity, sweet with vodka. Both the drinks, we felt truly hit the mark. There's no menu, so prices aren't listed but the cocktails we had ranged from $16-22 CAD. Drinks were fairly priced. Needless to say, it was one of the best speakeasies I have been to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Tip: I'd suggest you either arrive early at the opening time or arrive late after midnight to avoid waiting for too long. Interesting fact: this bar also made onto the 2023 edition of the North Americas 50 Best Bars list!

Yelp
Amazing place. Not only is the ambiance super original, but the service is stellar. There is no menu, you just tell them what you like and they serve you a tailor made drink. Amazing.

Yelp
Cloakroom is a small speakeasy hidden inside a men's tailoring store. They do not take reservations and seat people on a first come first serve basis. Thankfully, we got there just in time and grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar. We were told if a table opened up, we were free to move over. Cloakroom is one of the top bars in Montreal, because not only do they make amazing cocktails, but they customize the cocktail according to your preference. Whatever you like, be it something fruity, spicy, herb-infused, something with flowery notes, anything you want. Just tell the bartender and they'll concoct something tasty. While we were waiting at the bar, a table opened up, so we moved over. A server came by and brought us waters, AND a pre-cocktail drink! Wow! The pre-cocktail drink alone was so delicious. I could not imagine how good the actual cocktails were gonna be. Our cocktails finally arrived, and they were so tasty and well-crafted. My husband and I both enjoyed our cocktails. The cocktails were strong too. We would have loved to order another round but did not want to pass out at dinner. When we left, there were people waiting in the waiting area. Make sure you get here early so you don't have to wait.

Yelp
Imagine a place where you can walk in through a hidden entrance, get speakeasy vibes and get escorted to your very own private little area hidden behind a curtain. What will you drink? What will you order? Now imagine this: instead of browsing from a menu, trying to make substitutions, "add this add that, I prefer gin not vodka".."Oh no, sorry, we can't." YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. A place where you describe your ideal cocktail. The notes you like, the tastes you love, with your preferred spirit of choice. Like those fancy make your own perfume bars, except..make it with drinkable alcohol. That's right. At The Cloakroom you answer a few questions and get a pleasant surprise. My hubby got his take on the Sazerac and I was pleasantly surprised with their take on Negroni with Mezcal: the PERFECT marriage. For us, the line wasn't too long since it was still early but definitely worth it! Dress right, dress nice, enjoy the full experience. We even got to try their own in house, homemade, cucumber lavender spirit that was so delicious (on the house too!). This place is pretty great! We would definitely come back and it is for SURE a unique, worth it, experience!

Yelp
This has been one of the best bars I have been to. It is small and intimate (holds about 25 people). It doesn't have a menu. The bartender chats with you and finds out your palette before crafting cocktails for you. They even serve a welcome cocktail to open up your palette. Very intimate and enjoyable experience. Great cocktails. I didn't see any food served and I hadn't asked either. Very speakeasy style bar. I really enjoyed the place. Highly recommended. Drinks average $18-20 before tip. Totally worth it. Amazing place.

Yelp
We waited 30 mins to get inside this place and I have to say it was an experience I'm glad I had once, but wouldn't seek it out again. The service was fantastic and the mixology at the bar was super cool, but watching what was going on behind the bar, it seemed like the bartenders really just had a few recipes they were making and taking to different tables. I enjoyed my drink, but didn't feel like it was curated to my taste as much as a bartender chose a known recipe and made a drink in the ballpark of what I said I wanted. Specifically, I said I wanted a spicy fruity drink with vodka and I got what was basically a cosmopolitan with some added herb essence. It was great, but not what I ordered. The room is tiny and hot. Again - cool to do once, but I won't be a repeat customer. I'd recommend Le 4e Mur over this and the mystery is also super cool. Take 2-3 people to split the drinks to solve the mystery.
google avatar

Lylamae D.

Yelp
Very small and dark bar. Excellent mixologist and drinks were unique and great. Trust the bartender to make you a great cocktail.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Just wow- we had high expectations for this bar and the experience blew them out of the water. There is no menu here; rather, the skilled bartenders ask for your preferences with detailed follow up questions to craft personalized cocktails. Of course the "secret", exclusive 25-person limit vibe is unique and well-executed, but the skill and care of the bartenders is what truly sets this place apart. Easily worth the 30 minute wait on a Thursday evening!

Yelp
One of the 50 best bars in North America? You better believe it! The libations here are almost otherworldly, on a whole 'nother level, and totally fantabulous. Cocktails, to me, are like good food. I do not eat solely to stay alive; I eat because I enjoy a great meal. It is the same with drinks. As you may have read, they do not have a drink menu. Instead, you briefly speak with the bartender about what you're looking for, and they make you something. Questions may include a choice of liquor, more spirit-forward or refreshing, whether you want it fruitier, etc. So, let me tell you a little bit about drink #1 - I asked for something tequila-based, balanced on the boozy/refreshing scale, a little sweet, and a little spicy. When I ask for this at other cocktail bars, I am often made some version of a spicy margarita. This wasn't the case here. They assembled something unique with a touch of citrusy sweetness, tartness, and just the right amount of heat. Then, there was drink #2 - I wanted to venture a little into the world of gin. This time, I wanted something fruitier and more refreshing. When asked about red/non-red fruits, I said, "Surprise me," and surprise me, he did! The aromatics and homemade liquors made this drink a slam dunk, a home run, and a bunch of other sports metaphors I don't know. The cocktails were served in smaller glasses and without ice. Not at all a negative! This allowed them to retain their full flavor without being watered down or heated by the hand. The service was excellent. Not only did the drinks come out in a reasonable time, but the water glass never went empty, and a new cocktail was offered as soon as the other was done. Further, it was really nice of them to provide a free and luscious palate cleanser before the experience. I also loved the speakeasy vibe. While the elbow room wasn't massive, I didn't feel smushed as if in a super-budget airline seat. The noise level was also okay, and the music was loud enough to be heard over conversations but not too loud that you could not hear yourself think. Finally, there is the question of price. When I asked for the bill for my two drinks, I was bracing for sticker shock. Well, the drinks were CAD 18.50 each. In my neck of the woods, It is not unheard of for less exciting drinks at 'premium' locations to run close to USD 20. As such, considering the quality, the drinks are an outstanding value. The Cloakroom Bar is a fantastic speakeasy with cocktails I've no words to describe. The vibe is cozy, the service is great, the value is excellent, and the drinks are on another level. It absolutely deserves to be on a Top 50 in North America list. Don't miss it!

Yelp
Loved it! Was in town in Montreal for a few days and this one on a list of recommendations! Great ambience and service.

Yelp
No food. No menu. No sign. Just absolute perfection at one thing: delivering a quintessentially cocktail-focused experience in a really cool setting with great humans running the remarkable efficient show. Wife, her sister and I sat at the end of the bar where the orders are translated to the bartenders - so much fun chatting with and listening to the team work through their process. It's a conversation, not an order. It's fun without being loud. It's swanky and luxurious without being stuffy. It's been 6 weeks and the 3 of us are still talking about it. Come into the lobby and be patient. Only so many seats, and they're always watching, so you'll get the call when you get the call. Shouldn't be too long.
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Now when they say this place is a cloakroom they're not kidding. It is extremely small, But I think that's what adds to the charm. As we were seated we were told that there is no traditional menu. but instead our waiter asked us what are references of alcohol was After which we were given our cocktail. First drink wasn't quite my cup of tea but the bartender quickly rectified the issue by giving me a new drink. And it was perfect. Even though it was a bit expensive I would definitely go to the cloak room again.
google avatar

Caroline H.

Yelp
The premise of this bar: A real speakeasy! As an American, I actually didn't realize that Canada had a prohibition of their own (albeit a bit earlier than the US equivalent) and Montreal has a really cool speakeasy scene. At Cloakroom, you wait next to a tailor shop (is it real?!) until you're called back into a small speakeasy. There is no menu! The bartender asks you some questions and makes you a drink. I really don't think they make the same drink twice here. It was really fun!
google avatar

Enrique V.

Yelp
definitely a must try if you're visiting Montreal. The wait wasn't very long for two people so i would wait if you're coming to try this place out. they don't have a menu so you basically just tell them what spirit you like and they'll make a cocktail for you. The drink they made me was good but it wasn't the best.
google avatar

Mina P.

Yelp
EXCELLENT cocktails! Here they don't have a drinks menu but serve you cocktails based on the flavours you request. When you enter there is a sign to wait to be seated. Wait there and a bartender will open the door to let you in. Inside they will put away your coat, there is a great ambiance in the bar - dark with mood and accent lighting, perfect for a cocktail bar. We had three cocktails, and they were all fantastic. Come prepared with your drink desires, and they will do the rest!
google avatar

Albany P.

Yelp
It's a small space so come early! We waited maybe 25 minutes on a Friday night around 9:30. Very cool concept of no menu- making you a personal drink based on flavor profiles that you like. The welcome drink was delicious as well. Intimate vibes but not good for large groups- there's only one space that can accommodate up to 6 people so better to come with only 1 or 2 other people.
google avatar

Karolina M.

Yelp
First come first serve bar you'll want to get to before the rush and enjoy a perfectly curated cocktail. No menus at this bar, only flavor and alcohol preferences and the skillful craft of each tastemaker. This is an absolute must go to while visiting Montreal. Cheers!
google avatar

Chunjai K.

Yelp
So Impress with secreta door entering to the bar! We were looking for nice place to hang out and we found Cloakroom Bar. We just walk in on Monday night we believe they aren't busy. They sat us at the Privat room with individual drink design by our character. It is very interesting but risk of judgement of character depends on hostess judgement from outfit and telling. We were 3 and only one friend is definitely like her drink. Another 2 just so so the way they made the drinks. Overall, It was nice experience to go to Cloakroom bar. Maybe it's unusual in Montreal, Canada. But I will say this bar is stand out from another.
google avatar

Eugene W.

Yelp
Fantastic bar. It has a really cool hidden entrance, giving it a speakeasy feel. The bar is quite small and has no menu. You tell the bartender what you like and dislike and they'll make something for you. The bartenders are pretty creative and did different things with fruits and spices to make some pretty unique drinks. I had some delicious drinks with hints of ginger and pineapple, and my fiancee had some delicious drinks with hints of grapefruit. Really great atmosphere and friendly bartenders. Would definitely come back! Beware - the wait can get pretty long at night. It helps if you are only a party of 2.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the experience! We waited 30 minutes just to get in but honestly it was worth it! The speakeasy itself had one private room as you're coming in and a bigger, general space for everyone else. Drinks are customized - you let the bartender know what flavours you like and they whip up your very own cocktail! Mine had Bowmore 12 scotch, hibiscus, grapefruit and orange. It felt pretty special having your own cocktail whipped up at one of the top 50 bars in North America. 5/5 would recommend coming back again.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great. The staff/bartenders are so nice and really work with you. The building looks like a home from the outside, you walk into the small lobby and wait, someone will come out to you from a door hidden in the wall. There was a short wait as the place is pretty small but it went by quick and was totally worth it. You sit down at your table and the bartender comes up to you. They gave us an intro drink which honestly, I could have drank a whole glass of just that. Very yummy. They will ask you questions about what you like, what you don't, any allergies and whatnot. Then they will go off to do their magic. They always explain what drink they chose and what's in it and it's clear they really care that you enjoy your drink. Great place for a date.

Robert A.

Yelp
Mediocre ass place! Big hindi crowd! Drinks were mid!! Super rude employees.. this place is alll hype!!!! After reading all the 5 star reviews I thought I was going to come to some exclusive space but no! This place is MID @ BEST!

Yelp
This was my first time to a speakeasy and it was a good one. Located in the back of a cloak shop, there was this tiny little speakeasy. It appeared to be bigger at first but upon closer look there were mirrors making it feel this way. The max capacity was something like 20. There was bar seating and behind that there were about 4-5 small tables with a long booth behind where people could sit. There is no drink menu and the bartenders will just ask what you like and create a drink for you based on that. It was pretty nice. The drinks are on the smaller sideband they can get pricey but it was a nice experience and ambience.

Yelp
Cozy great drinks, a real speakeasy. I always feel privileged to get in. Proud to share the place with friends in town.

Yelp
Super cool experience and the bartenders were fun to interact with! I was really looking forward to the 'hidden speak-easy' part of entering the bar...but (understandably due to COVID) they also had an outdoor patio set-up which made it pretty easy to locate. Oh well :p Nevertheless, we came on a summer Thursday night ~8pm and was led through their secret entrance. Small space fitting only 10-12 people, but they did a great job with the mirror decor to make it feel a lot bigger and mysterious! We opted for the 'customized drink experience' where the bartender asks you a few questions before coming up with a drink for you. We got an Elderflower lime drink and another with their in-house Hibiscus syrup. They were both tasty & boozy. Lastly, we tried their new canned cocktails which are milk-filtered. Totally enjoyed its slight fizziness, fruity, & faint milky taste!

Yelp
I loved my custom drink and this experience was unforgettable! Would recommend for anyone visiting and wanting a unique experience with reasonable prices! The staff were very welcoming too!

Yelp
Sexy, mysterious, & fun speakeasy downtown. Experienced bartenders & polite staff, they really make the night an experience. Great spot to venture out of your comfort zone & try out new drinks or liquors.

Yelp
Wonderful spot. Easy seating on a Monday eve. In a quiet area near fine arts museum --up some stairs and tucked behind a shop.

Yelp
We came in on a Thursday evening and were able to be seated immediately despite it being a small place. For larger groups they only have 1 or 2 sections inside that can accommodate you, so I recommend coming early to avoid a wait. The concept of the bar is interesting, where you give them your spirit/flavor preferences and they craft something with that in mind. Both of our drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was very sophisticated without being stuffy. My only recommendation is they also ask what price range you're comfortable with. We were saddled with $25USD cocktails, and had we known we may have asked for a different option.

Yelp
Cloakroom deserves its spot on the top 50 bars in North America. I had one of the best cocktails of my life while visiting Montreal. After a great cocktail based on my flavor preferences I asked the bartender to make me whatever he considered the most impressive and the gin based cocktail he made will haunt me. We were offered samples of things they had made for fellow bar guests which was fun and were given tips for home mixing. I will say that we had to plan ahead to ensure we had a spot as the location is gorgeous but small.

Yelp
The Cloakroom Bar in Montreal, Canada is a unique and exciting experience for anyone looking for a top-notch cocktail experience. The bar's distinct feature of having no menu is a refreshing change from the norm, as bartenders craft cocktails based on the customers' preferences. The Negroni cocktail crafted for me is a prime example of how the bartenders go above and beyond to create exceptional drinks. The mix of traditional ingredients with new fusions creates a blend of flavors that tantalizes the taste buds in ways you wouldn't expect. The atmosphere of the bar is equally inviting. Despite it being small, it included sophisticated decor that oozes class and elegance. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to offer advice and recommendations on what to try next. Overall, The Cloakroom Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional cocktail experience in Montreal. With its no-menu approach and expert bartenders, it is sure to be a memorable experience that will have you coming back for more. This is my second time there and will make it a must stop every time i'm in town.

Yelp
I noticed it was rated number 2 in ALL OF CANADA and number 35 in ALL OF NORTH AMERICA.... So I thought I'd give it a try, and I wasn't disappointed. Honestly, they perform magic when you simply tell them what style of drink you like. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Frequent Montreal visitor, first time @ The Cloakroom. The bartender mixes drinks based on your response to a few simple questions. Short wait outside the hidden door, but we were told the wait can be short for a deuce. It was and well worth it. Here's a tip - we went just prior to the puck drop @ a Canadiens home game! I challenged them by asking for a refreshing, fruit forward libation with an Irish Whiskey base. They nailed it! Great experience and well worth the brief wait.

I don't get why he couldn't split us up it's a small place. Def will not be recommending this place to anyone that visit.

Yelp
We were going to a dinner in downtown but before hand, we decided to go for a drink. I looked on Google, a bar that is nearby the restaurant, and The Cloakroom Bar appeared which is 4 minutes away. At the entrance, I thought the bar is closed due its darkness. It is open though, and it's tiny bar, with an amazing ambiance and very dim lights. We were served by our mixologist Arnault. He told us they don't have a menu, what do I feel like, and we will go from there. Since I love whiskey; he recommended me an old fashioned with a twist. And same for my boyfriend but his one is sweeter and mine is bitter. Oh boy oh, what an amazing drink. It was strong, and it was delicious. I was feeling the buzz from one . Arnault did an excellent work on our drinks. I really enjoyed this bar and drinks. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Nice service. Chic discovery for a cocktail lover but was surprised to find the cocktails were basic at best and even though you're asked if you like it. They don't really care. If you wanna look cute somewhere cute cool but If you're looking for a well made cocktail for the $25 "creations" go elsewhere. Worst experience my trip so far.

Yelp
Loved the service. Went on a Monday night (that seems to be the key) got in with about a 5 min wait. Liked the music and vibe
