It’s a wonderful place to disconnect and enjoy a good conversation with friends and family! The coffee is excellent, with seasonal flavors! The staff is friendly and dedicated!

Google
Got a large iced vanilla latte. Great latte , good quality oatmilk, in-house syrups, good ratios. Atmosphere is such a vibe it’s very cute & aesthetic in here. NOT a lot of room inside for seating but there’s outside seating. Customer service 2/5. Not very friendly.

Google
Beautiful outdoor area and i loved my iced latte, however two of my friends got matcha and both were watered down and clumpy. it became pretty undrinkable for them for a $7 drink. it would be worth it to invest in a strainer! i’d recommend the coffee but if you’re a matcha drinker, probably skip out

Google
Great location near ninth street while avoiding all the traffic on ninth street. The location has cute decorations and also cool little trinkets for sale. For coffee I recommend their cortado or their latte. Overall great place!

Stephen Mutz

Google
Solid coffee shop with quick service, nice pastry selection, and indoor and outdoor seating. I’ve only been once, but from that experience, great! Got a salted caramel decaf latte.

Nestled in Durham, NC, Cloche Coffee brings a refreshing West Coast vibe to the Bull City. This charming café has quickly become a local favorite, offering a perfect blend of great coffee, delectable treats, and a welcoming atmosphere. As soon as you approach Cloche, you'll notice the inviting outdoor seating area. It's an ideal spot to soak up some sun, enjoy the fresh air, and watch the world go by. Even better, your furry friends are welcome to join you, thanks to their dog-friendly policy. Step inside, and you'll find yourself in a cute, cozy space that somehow manages to transport you to a laid-back California coffee shop. The interior is thoughtfully designed, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that's perfect for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or checking out the houseplants. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the coffee. Cloche doesn't disappoint, offering a range of expertly crafted beverages. Their decaf Americano is a standout, proving that you don't need caffeine to enjoy a rich, flavorful cup of joe. It's smooth, well-balanced, and satisfying – a true testament to their commitment to quality across all their offerings. For those looking for something a little different, the honey cappuccino is a must-try. The subtle sweetness of the honey complements the espresso perfectly, creating a harmonious blend that'll have you coming back for more. To accompany your coffee, Cloche offers a selection of freshly baked goods. The chocolate almond scone is a particular highlight – buttery, crumbly, and studded with rich chocolate and crunchy almonds. It's the perfect partner to your morning coffee or afternoon pick-me-up. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur, a remote worker in need of a change of scenery, or simply looking for a pleasant spot to unwind, Cloche Coffee delivers. With its California-inspired vibes, top-notch coffee, delicious treats, and dog-friendly outdoor seating, it's no wonder this popping little joint has quickly become a beloved part of Durham's vibrant alternative coffee scene.

Google
Nice spot and ambience is really nice but the coffee was disappointing. Service was decent and seemed to be friendly with regular customers. We ordered a coconut latte with whole milk and black coffee and both had a sour almost rancid flavor and left a bad taste in our mouths. As a seasoned cafe goer I wanted to love it but probably wouldn’t come again for the drinks.

Google
I discovered this coffee shop on Google while looking for nearby options after lunch. The design caught my eye, and I was right to be intrigued. It's one of the most unique coffee shops I've seen, with a distinctive interior and exterior design. The setup of the indoor and outdoor seating feels so natural and relaxing. I wish I had a house nearby so I could visit every day, just to sit and watch the street. I absolutely love it!

Yelp
Lots of seating outside! Love the arrangements of seats and would recommend as a study spot. The drink menu is small, but it has the usuals compared to other coffee shops. There is parking behind the store where you can park along the curb. Recommend checking out this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazingly decorated space! The various greenery and the walk collage was fantastic and inspiring, we got an Americano and brown sugar latte alongside a chocolate chip banana bread. Only draw back was a sign posted that asked visits be limited to 1 hour (otherwise 5 stars).

Yelp
Stopped on our way through town. It was very pleasant and the staff were nice! The place was a little difficult to find, but I definitely recommend.

Yelp
My lunch buddy and I stopped by one afternoon for a quick pick-me-up and were pleasantly surprised. It's a cozy spot with well made coffees and teas. I'd definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Great coffee and matcha, friendly barista, cute decor, but sooo tiny/cramped and too few indoor seats!
google avatar

Yelp
What a lovely cafe tucked away on Broad Street. I got a ham and Swiss panini and an iced latte. The latte was bitter at first, but much better as the ice started melting. The food is really good! So is the coffee and atmosphere. They had some lofi music in the background. One of the coffee machines is quite loud, but otherwise I have no complaints. Would definitely come back in the future if possible! Service was good and fast too!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Durham! Beautiful, cozy, and exceptional customer service (thanks to Jennifer for going above and beyond today). The coffee, pastries, and homemade syrups are delicious. Plus, the beautiful plants create such a peaceful and welcoming vibe. Absolutely love that we discovered this little coffee shop today. We will be back to enjoy the outdoor patio when the weather is cooler.

Yelp
Haven't been to Cloche in forever and really glad I got to try it again! They have a lot of cool syrup flavors; I ended up getting an iced maple brown sugar latte, which was delicious & had the perfect amount of sweetness. In the past, I've gotten their liege waffles, which are so tasty. Seating inside is pretty limited, but they have a lot of outdoor seating which is nice weather-permitting. Super aesthetic ambiance; friendly & fast service. They have a small parking lot at the back of the shop, but you may have to street park or park at the nearby grocery store and walk over. 9/10 would recommend!

Yelp
I stopped by Cloche for a quick meetup while I was in the area. The place is super cute. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and found the dining area to be clean and the staff to be pleasant. Only one person was working that day, so there was no greeting when we entered due to the line. This seems to be the norm there. However, when we approached to order, the staff were pleasant, welcoming, and did a great job with the tea. I tried the iced passionfruit jasmine tea, which had great flavor and quality in every sip. It was refreshing and tasty, perfect for a very hot evening.

Yelp
A cute little coffee shop, Cloche coffee is a plant filled cafe serving coffee and teas. They have a few tables indoors and outdoors optimal for studying/working. They aren't great for big groups though. I came on a Saturday afternoon and they were quite busy, but the baristas were extremely friendly and patient with each customer. I opted for their matcha with oatmilk, and it was great! It had a strong matcha flavor without being too bitter, and it wasn't too milky either. Cloche is easy to miss, but worth the stop in Durham!

Yelp
There's a lot of nice spaces to sit here. They have an outdoor patio, inside seating, and a little table in the hallway. I got the chai latte with almond milk and it was great! Really strong chai spices. I added a bit of sugar but it was already sweet on its own as well.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Really love this place for its study vibes and liege waffles. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and there are tons of plants inside (some for sale!). It's much cooler on the inside, not sure if that's because of the AC or the darker lighting. The baristas make great coffee drinks, and they also have a nice selection of non-coffee teas too. Definitely one of my go to cafes!

Yelp
Really cute little spot next to Duke's East campus :) came here with a friend and walked in, the ambiance is incredible, really feels smoothing and calm. They have a lot of greenery as plants, really nice decor, and it feels like a peaceful space to be. They also have a nice outdoor area too! Their tables are a tad wobbly outside though- don't be like me and set my cup for tea down, accidentally bump it, and spill some tea They have a great selection of drinks and are really affordable! Also have some nice snacks in the form of pastries, I will have to try their waffles at some point too cause they sounded delicious. Service is great, very friendly and have a great smile on their face, and pretty quick to get your things out! Come check it out some time.

Yelp
Great food and amazing space. I Just wish the staff were happier. I asked to have my pastries cut in half and the staff member looked at me as if I asked for it for free
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Located across the street from Duke University... their east campus location this place definitely is a hole in the wall as seeing it from the street is hard to find given the little sign and the building looks like a generic business building but since I was meeting a friend here I def knew it existed lol Small coffee shop with limited seating inside but outside it's got a little area to relax but the service is great and you will find plenty of students here or course The prices are totally fair and the mocha ice coffee I had was bomb! Definitely recommend hitting this up if ya need a quick drink
google avatar

Shoba K.

Yelp
Esthetically pleasing coffee shop with cutr hanging plants. Coffee is delicious and they have great seasonal specials plus some pastries which I believe are from 9th st bakery. The staff are always super friendly too!

Yelp
Went here last weekend on a Saturday to study! I had been here once prior and it hadn't been my usual study spot (hard to study at spots you're not well acquainted with) so I was actually a little hesitant on going. However, I knew there was a nice outdoor area that I hadn't tried so that made me go! I got a ginger chai latte there and I would not go here specifically for the drinks but definitely would come back to enjoy a nice day out near Duke Gardens. Just make sure you spray some bug spray on you if you're sitting outside.

Yelp
Drinks: I ordered my go-to (vanilla latte with almond milk) and it was sweet and delicious. Service: the waiter was very kind, friendly, and attentive! He greeted customers by name and explained different drink options to me. Environment: very small but cute place. There were lots of plants inside and extra seating outside. Overall a great coffee place, I just wish they had a few more food and drink options!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop! We arrived around 8:15am on a Thursday and all of the tables were full, we did manage to snag a few stools in the hallway/entryway. It's super tiny inside so there are not many areas to sit. I had a vanilla latte, which was perfect!
google avatar

Kyle G.

Yelp
Cute little shop within the dance studio there at ADF. Good quality coffee and can adjust the number of shots you'd like (2 or 3) per drink.
google avatar

Lexi G.

Yelp
Loved this place!!! I ordered an iced caramel latte with almond milk and a croissant, and though the croissant was a bit too crunchy/hard on the bottom, the latte was amazing. We sat outside on the patio under an umbrella while it sprinkled outside. The interior was so calming and beautiful. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
While we've enjoyed our many visits to Cloche Coffee, we feel that over time, the quality of their drinks has gone down. We've tried several of Cloche's drinks, including their lattes and cold brew. Our favorite was their raspberry latte, though they haven't had raspberry syrup at our last several visits. Their cold brew has also been disappointing, with the last couple of times tasting like dirt (in the non-good-coffee way). The matcha powder in our iced matcha latte was hardly dissolved, resulting in chunks of matcha accompanying each sip. We were also unimpressed with their seasonal drinks this time around. In particular, we were excited to try their coffee palmer. The novelty and the idea was there, but the execution was a sour, bitter mess that no amount of dilution could save. Overall, we'll continue to return to Cloche because of their convenient hours and beautiful ambiance, not necessarily for the drinks.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop just off East campus of Duke University. Nice menu with seasonal specials. I got a matcha latte which was yummy. Staff were friendly and hardworking. Seems like a great spot to get some work done with both indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Scout Y.

Yelp
Cute space inside! Got an iced matcha with lavendar that tasted great. Limited indoor seating, but was able to get a space - looked like they did have a lot of outdoor seating as well!

Ashley T.

Yelp
Coffee was watery and espresso was not strong. Cute interior though, especially the plants and antiques behind the espresso counter.

Hedaiah S.

Yelp
super good coffee and i love the plants they have everywhere inside and outside! its super vibey! only thing is parking is not the easiest since its in durham but other than that i love!!!
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop! Been here plenty of times. I love that they have seasonal drinks, which they rotate all the time. So you can try out some new things. The staff are always nice and quick!

Yelp
Cute coffee shop right next to Duke's east campus! There is a nice little outdoor patio although there are only 5 or 6 tables that I imagine get filled quickly on a nice weekend day. I tried a cold brew with their seasonal summer rose syrup while my cousin got a specialty drink mix of cold brew and lemonade. Both were very unique and refreshing! Also split a cinnamon brioche bun that was airy and light. There is an adjacent little parking lot on Broad st but there is also plenty of parking by the residential area around the corner that is just a short walk. Have also been here with my dog before so it is pet-friendly too!
google avatar

Sophia N.

Yelp
Cute coffeeshop but it didn't live up to the hype for me. The rose latte neither tasted like rose or coffee, and the waffle tastes in parts a little undercooked. Once the waffle cooled down I noticed that there was melted sugar in it which may have made the waffle just feel undercooked. It was a good place to study but is low on my list of cafes in the area.

Hannah R.

Yelp
A hidden gem on the outskirts of Downtown Durham! Cloche not only makes delicious coffee and pastries, they have a great outdoor patio that overlooks the Duke Wall. One of my favorite places to camp out if I really need to be productive.

Yelp
Notes: 1) been here twice 2) not a lot of sitting space 3) had plant sales on Friday 4) also sells coffee beans and grounds 5) also showcases paintings 6) should be open now with some policies set for the safety of the customers Pros: 1) lots of interesting new seasonal beverages 2) great for hanging out (+0.5 ) 3) great managers and baristas (+2 ) 4) great drinks (+2 ) Cons: 1) not a lot of space/ seats 2) part of a larger complex so bathrooms are shared 3) not much parking space Total: 4.5/5 My friend really enjoys this coffee shop because of the amazing staff and the great coffee here. The main issue came from the lack of spaces which he would need to complete his work. When the weather was bad, we would come here and hang out. Fortunately for us, there were seats available. The only issue was that there were not many seats available near the outlet sockets; therefore, we were unable to stay for a long time to work. The overall mood was very relaxed and laid back. People were working on their own or were whispering in a small group to avoid causing too much noise. Everything was very calming and relaxing, especially the music and the fresh scent of brewed coffee. The beverage that I had was the chai along with a fresh seasonal coffee. I usually use chai as a means to determine the quality of the place as I always get a chai everywhere. The chai had a hint of sweetness but was not overwhelmingly sweet. The design of the milk was great as well. It looked very well made, and you can see the baristas making it in front of you. The Black Forest mocha was really refreshing. It was not too bitter and made me think like I was walking through a forest while drinking it. The barista also offered me a deal on a smaller cup as I just wanted to try it. The price isn't indicated on the menu but it was great as it allowed me to try the different types of coffees without consuming too much caffeine. I understood why my friend enjoyed this place a lot. The baristas that I met here were all really nice and talkative. They were really helpful in picking beverages and getting to know the local area. I have been to a lot of coffee shops but this one felt warmer and more friendly. The drinks are also pretty good and the layout of the restaurant is nice and open. There may be some seating issues but it's worth it to go and try to hangout here and relax. You could meet so many friendly new people or sit and work while feeling nice and comfy.

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop in a beautiful building. All the plants are lovely! It's very bright and quaint. Keep in mind--this is a small place although the ceilings are very high. But there is some outdoor seating and seating in the entryway. The hot chocolate was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
"OK...ALRIGHT" - Denzel Washington I first heard of "Cloche Coffee" at an event that I attended not long ago. The representatives at the event were all very kind and gave me a sample of their coffee. I finally stopped in today and they sure delivered! I was kindly greeted and helped right away. Loving the energy that they put out! Such a positive vibe! If you're driving by, you can easily miss it so keep and eye out. The ambience is nice and definitely a great place for photos. The space is tiny but can accommodate a good number of people. There's also an outdoor patio with seating. I got the special "honey something?" -- Amazing coffee! Class act customer service! I've found my new go to coffee shop in Durham! Please stay for a long time. I'm willing to walk a mile there to get my coffee. Keep up the great job!
google avatar

Ralph S.

Yelp
Good coffee and nice folks working. Across the street from Duke. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because there's very little room inside. There's a great deck but that demands decent weather. ...still would recommend.
google avatar

Eddie C.

Yelp
Sweet spot not to be missed! Located on the corner of an industrial shared workspace, you don't want to miss Cloche coffee. This quaint gem has quality coffee and fresh baked goods to get your morning started or afternoon going. Limited seating inside but an ample patio with plenty of tables and chairs.
google avatar

Sevana W.

Yelp
Cloche has become my go-to off-campus study spot since coming to Durham. Beyond its super convenient location on Broad St, I've enjoyed trying out the impressive variety of flavors (highly recommend the honey lavender latte, if you're into a floral taste palette!) and getting work done in its lovely, plant-filled ambience. The baked goods are pretty yummy from my experience too. The only reason I wouldn't give Cloche five stars would be that sometimes their iced drinks can taste a bit watered-down (I had a chai once that just tasted like milk with a hint of spice). Still, it's one of my favorite spots around here. Go check it out!!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
This is a cute spot that has great coffee! It's a semi regular spot of mine. It's fairly small but is cute with lots of plants around and wonderful coffee. I've gotten their lattes and iced lattes before but you can't go wrong here. Highly recommend if you live in the area or if you're visiting!
google avatar

Alicia B.

Yelp
I got a hot chocolate on a freezing day and Durham and it was great. Not expensive, piping hot, and super nice ambiance. The shop itself is pretty small and all the tables/stools were spaced so that everyone would be socially distanced. The barista was super nice when we asked about the menu offerings, and the drinks were out in a few minutes. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by. It's a great pick-me-up for your day.
google avatar

Iris H.

Yelp
So so cute. Located right by the Dike campus, Cloche has a solid variety of coffee and non coffee options. My fave an espresso con panna was done with real whip cream and was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a cold press with a touch of oat milk and minimal ice. Service was quick and the guy was helpful explaining sone of the additional items. The space inside is beautiful with a lot of fresh greenery and open windows. The patio outside is large enough to accommodate quite a few people in the sun or the shade. Overall, this was a cute coffee shop to visit with strong, bold tasting coffee and espresso.

JJ D.

Yelp
Decent coffee, small on the inside. The staff was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely a good place to support local business, dog friendly, and good customer service!
google avatar

Sweta S.

Yelp
This coffee shop is a perfect place to take your coffee to go or relax! Their iced lattes are addicting. I've been here two days in a row now. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Glenn G.

Yelp
Goodness, this location has been so many bakeries and shops over the years but we decided to try it on a Saturday morning. It was confusing at first because there was a group standing around outside and we didn't know if they were in line or not. Turns out they were just hanging around talking so we entered, placed our orders, and sat at one of the socially distanced tables. Servers were friendly and the chai latte and London Fog (I think they called it something else) were decent but not outstanding. For its location this seems to be a popular hangout for Duke students. The interior decor is eclectic and interesting. No complaints really but right now I prefer cozier and less crowded spots for coffee.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
This place is simply an epitome of a small business coffee shop. It's small, so you have to be ok with some close quarters. Nice seating and outlet options with WiFi. Great natural light from windows. Beautiful plants throughout. The employees are very nice and personable. They know many of the customers by name and thank you with each tip given. The drinks are warm and wonderful, and the treat look delicious. Can't wait to go for some work-from-home work again!
google avatar

Tyneshia S.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop! Ran across this just browsing for "good coffee" and saw some good reviews. You can feel the vibe of this coffee shop from outside. As soon as you're getting close to the entrance you see all Of the fresh plants and the home-like feel. The baristas were very friendly. I let them know it was my first time, what size liked and they created a custom latte for me. In addition to coffee, there were a number of pastries. The cheese pastry was delish! Coffee was great and service was speedy. Definitely a new coffee shop to hit up.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
I have really fallen in love with this place! Right off of east campus, this cozy coffee shop has tons of plants, triple shots of espresso in their large drinks, and friendly staff. I've tried a latte and cortado so far, and both were great. They also have teas and pastries, and "seasonal" lattes/drinks. The best part are all the plants/interior, and good music. The worst part of this lil' place is the limited seating. I came during reading period/finals, so lots of students are here, but if you have a ton of papers/need to spread out to work, this may not be the place. Another wish I had was that they don't do all of their drinks to-go. Hopefully, we'll see these places soon. Overall, I'm definitely going to make this place a regular stop! P.S. outdoor seating + a parking lot? I'm sold.
google avatar

Barbara B.

Yelp
Cute location with a nice patio area. The coffee is great and the prices are very reasonable.
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated, plant coffee cafe. The walls are covered in plants. Amazing baked goods too. It's always hopping but the staff gets through people quickly and are super friendly. Plenty of dairy milk alternatives too.
google avatar

Marci A.

Yelp
I drove 15minutes for this coffee and I am so glad that I did. I tried their promotional blackberry lavender white chocolate latte and it was quite possibly the best latte I've ever had. Prices are a bit high but this beats every other coffee house around the area so it's worth it!
google avatar

Toby T.

Yelp
Love the environment here! Near Duke's campus and Ninth St, it's a place to do work (if not busy) or socialize over a drink. The inside is so aesthetic with plants everywhere. Because of covid, there is limited spaced seating inside with outlets. The outside didn't have outlets (maybe didn't see?). I always get their iced coffee with oat milk-- super good! It's all to-go here, so it's convenient if you are on the way and want a break from the big coffee companies. There is also a parking lot but may easily get full during school time, so I usually park at the Whole Foods up the street.
