Our time at Clos Solène was by far our favorite in Paso Robles. The experience felt like we were welcomed into their home with Solène’s homemade bread and cheese shaved table side (this specific service isn’t on the “menu” - we were just fascinated and had to see for ourselves). Our friend, Alejandro, guided us through the tasting with care and knowledge, remaining unassuming for Texans that admire the craft of winemaking yet lack the finer details of experts. This could have been the only stop on the itinerary, and we would have been satisfied.
If you are on the fence to visit, I encourage you to do one thing: ask the locals. It was amazing to see how faces would light up when you tell them you were going / have gone to this winery. Everyone had a story, and not one was bad.
It was a no brainer to get a membership here. I’m excited to see where they go in the future. P.S. ask to see the cave blueprints.
