"Japanese shaved ice shop Cloud 917 was only open for a few months. The small cafe opened last August serving kakigori topped with black sesame, ube cream, and kiwi puree. The business is being replaced by a gelato shop from Sofia’s, which opened in Little Italy during the pandemic." - Luke Fortney

Super cute spot! The shaved ice was light and flavorful. The owner, Andrea, is incredibly welcoming. She clearly puts her heart into her business. She let us try two of her new flavor (pumpkin spice) and the best seller (black sesame), and we were not disappointed at all! We will definitely be back soon!

Small store, but very good kakigori.. It's nothing fancy, but the ice quality is good. Size is huge, but it's super fluffy and easy to finish, even for 1 person... The girl working there (maybe the owner?) is super nice, and she even gave me a free sample of the kiwi one which I wanted to try.

We tried the kiwi and black sesame shaved ice, both of which were refreshing and flavorful. What stood out was the array of innovative flavors, including a savory fig kakigori that we plan to try on our next visit. The female owner was exceptionally welcoming, kind, and helped us pick our treats, explaining everything with a smile. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Really cozy little place. The kakigori are fluffy and delicious and the customer service is top notch. Flavors change seasonally, so I hope to come back in the future to try something new!

Finally a kakigori place in West Village! Black Mambas was incredible, they’re fragrant, not too sweet, the halva crunch on top was such a nice crunch contrasting with the soft pillowy shaved ice. Definitely will be back to try more flavors!

So yummy!! I was skeptical but it was amazing- and just note it's $16 so sharing it made a lot of sense! Great allergy friendly spot. Gluten free, corn allergy friendly! Most dishes appear soy free too.

Super cute spot for Shaved Ice(had anime stickers on walls). Andrea(the owner) was very nice and friendly. Had Strawberry Ive(Berry’s World) and it was great(fresh Basil was a nice touch).

Not sure why this place has such good reviews for what is really subpar Kakigori. Maybe it’s cause there’s not a lot of other options for anything similar in the West Village? Who knows, but “shave” your money for something else. $16 for a Strawberry shaved ice is wayyyy too steep. If it was $10? Maybe… Apart from their lackluster shaved ice there isn’t too much indoor or outdoor seating. But the interior is cute… Despite this critical review of their shaved ice, I’ll provide a nice photo of it because it was quite pretty Edit: adding 1 star because owner replied saying syrups are fresh made in house, thank you for clarifying but is still overpriced
